It was snowing again this year.
And not just snow, but also strange ornaments plastered everywhere. Large, gaudy candycanes, ribbons of green and red, lights, blinking, flashing, unhaunted, dangled from the school chimneys, and trailed along the walls of all the hallways and curled into strange cutesy shapes in various dorm windowsills. It was bright, it was colourful, and it was appalling.
The second any student, or horsemen, or guest stepped foot into the school, a giant sign would assault their eyes right at the Amityville Gates. It read "HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND GOOD TIDINGS".
There was also a reindeer at the gate. No, not a spooky killer skinwalker deer, or a ghost deer, or even the minipet equivalent, a bona-fide reindeer. Its nose glowed a beautiful joyous red, it wore something like a red sock sticking out from one of its antlers, and it was dressed in a screaming bright red, green, and white knitted shirt that looked like nothing from Halloween ever.
"Yo, s'up." Said reindeer was handling out pamphlets, which any student was free to take. On it write THE TWELVE DAYS OF JOY.
It also outlined the following:THE TWELVE DAYS OF JOY Come one, come all, come visit Amityville's great Twelve Days of Joy! For twelve days, and nights, the wonderful denizens of the land of Joy have come to visit Halloween, and teach them the ways of Joy! Join in on fun class classics such as making snowmen, baking gingerbread cookies, and of course, the merry art of gift giving! There is much Joy and happiness to be had! DAY 1: - Opening Ceremony. Introduction to Joy! DAY 2:- Joy classes begin! All are invited, even guest students! DAY 3- 9:- There is a lot of Joy classes to be had! Day 10:- SANTA HAS COME TO TOWN! Santa Claus will visit Halloween! As him for any present, as long as you're nice, not naughty! Day 11:- Present exchange! Make a present, give a present! Share the Joy! Day 12: - Final ceremony wrap-up. Farewells and goodbyes until next year!!

THE ASSEMBLY "Quiet down," said a short elf-like creature on the stage wearing way too many layers of clothing. Oh wait, no, that was just the school secretary. Next to the school secretary was a taller elf with mismatched socks, horrific red overalls, and a big smile. "Quiet down students, guests, we've got a lot to go through this assembly."
The short elf-like creature that wasn't the one wearing the mismatched socks and was maybe the school secretary pulled out a very long, officious piece of paper. "Now, first of all, we will be having guest lecturers from the Land of Joy visiting us this week for," a huge sigh, "twelve days. Each student is expected to pick out at least two classes from these guest classes to attend. Also after the classes are finished, we will have an exam-"
- There was a collective grown from the audience, or well, the students crowded in the school auditorium -
- "An exam," the school secretary shouted, "to check on your progress. If you don't pass the exam you will fail."
Yes, that is usually what happened when one did not pass an exam.
"Now, a word from our guest here."
The elf (the happy, sparkly one), happily grabbed the scamplifier. "HELLLLOOOOOO ALL STUDENTS WELCOME TO THE BEST DAYS OF YOUR LIFE!"
Silence. Unfortunately that didn't deter the happy elf.
"I hope you'll have a wonderful time with us because oh, we will have a absoduperlutely wonderfulicious time with you! There's so much to teach and learn and what's this? Santa is coming to visit you as well! There is much merriment to be had! Hooray!!!"
Arel (the school secretary) slowly scooted towards from the one-elf wonder show going on currently, and seized the scamplifier. "That will be all. Happy holidays." He looked like he meant the exact opposite.
OOC WELCOME TO THE 12 DAYS OF JOY!- The 12 (IC) Days of Joy is a series of classes and potential IC events that will be happening in Amityville! Check out all the information about it here! Everyone can participate! - There are also awesome IC and OOC prizes, as well as a chance to win minipets, student premades, and special student holiday customs OR HOLIDAY ALT ARTS for those who participate! This event will last all of December. Have fun all! - You are free to rp out reactions to the assembly in this thread too! Also PRPS will continue on as normal, but you can ICly now include all the Joy stuff going on!
