Amiera walked down the bustling city sidewalk. She had just come from the library, after studeing for hours. Her head was bent down as she walked, nose in a book as usual. She never saw the person approaching her. With a thud, Amiera landed on her butt. "I'm so sorry!" She gasped as she looked up at the person she had bumped into.

Staring around this new city, Torra couldn't help but wonder where exactly she was this time. While contemplating this, out of nowhere she ran into a girl with her nose stuck in a book.
Before she had the chance to catch the girls hand she landed on the ground. "I'm so sorry!" the girl had said. Which made Torra a little confused because she was the one who walked into this girl, so wasn't it her fault instead?
Kneeling down, she offered her a hand. "No miss, I am the one who needs to apologize. I wasn't paying attention."
*Why am I being so nice? I'm never nice to people I know nothing about..* She thought, before she noticed she was looking at this girl with a small smile on her face.
*Hmm...that is also strange*

Amiera smiled softly at the stranger. She closed her book and offered a slight bow. "My name is Amiera. Thank you for helping me up." She said in her chime like voice.

"You're welcome. My name is Torra." She studied the girl, "So what makes a book so interesting that you forget to pay attention to your surroundings?"

"You're welcome. My name is Torra." She studied the girl, "So what makes a book so interesting that you forget to pay attention to your surroundings?"

"Well... It was a gift... From someone who used to be special to me. I haven't put it down since I got it." She explained as she blushed lightly. "I guess I should pay more attention since I don't know my way around this city."

"Well I can't say I blame you. I happen to love books."
She looked around at all the buildings and bright flashing signs and the many people walking around. "And I have no idea where anything in this city is, all I know is I'm still in Japan, just not where at."
She put both her hands behind her head and blew out a whistle. "So even though you don't know your way around, you look like you are from around the area." She didn't ask it like a question, but Torra hoped Amiera would answer her anyway, to give her some idea of the location they were standing in.

Being a demon, trying to look and act human, it was difficult to tell how people would react to the unusual way she talked about things. Some people have even gone as far to say she didn't seem like she was from this era considering her more closed off nature and proper way of speaking. She had noticed that the more time she spent with these humans the more she began to realize that they were probably right, but being born almost four hundred years ago, and having all the time to learn and grow with the world, she couldn't bring herself to do so. She just found herself more and more withdrawn from the community.

"Your in Tokyo. I lived in a small town nearby. But my brother just passed away and left me his company. So I moved here." She explained. "I'm heading to my apartment if you want me to help you find your way around."

Torra wasn't sure what to say about her brother. From all the people she has lost over the years she always felt like saying sorry was more of an insult because it didn't make it stop hurting and wouldn't bring them back. So she just stayed silent.
"Aren't you a little young to own a company? I don't mean to say that you're not capable by any means, seeing as I don't know you. But that seems like it would be a lot of responsibility for one person."
*Tokyo...I remember when this was a large bunch of small towns with few members to each town..but I'm not far from where I grew up at least.* Torra thought as she took a step back and spread her arm to make way for her new friend to lead the way to where she was going.
"I will say, it is nice to have someone to talk to who isn't too busy to actually speak with someone else." She said with a thoughtful smile. "So what kind of company is it that your brother left you?"

"Well I just own it. My cousin runs it for me right now. And I benefit from it so its okay. I'm not sure what they do. I was never really involved in the business, you see. I'm and artist." She said, leading the way to her upscale apartment.

*An artist? Back in the old days artists weren't really known...maybe it's different now.* The thought came out of nowhere. *Odd* She didn't normally think too much about others, and when she did the past never came through in those thoughts.
"So, what kinds of arts do you do? Are you the painting sort or music?" She looked over with a smile. "Sorry for all the questions, I just find myself curious about you. You're the first person I've actually talked to around this place. It's nice to not be stuck thinking to myself all the time."

"Oh no, Its fine. Really. I enjoy having someone to talk to. I paint and play the piano. Painting is my passion so it is good that I can make a little money from it." She explained.

"Back when I was born painters didn't really get much for their works. Neither did musicians, so it's nice to see how different things really are now. I haven't really paid much attention to the way people are now, just the surroundings. I spend a lot of my time training out in the mountains. You need a peaceful environment to help keep your mind peaceful. It is great for archery, you see. I don't like to boast but give me a target and I can hit the center from any distance and any place you'd put me." As she said this a wide grin and a light blush spread across her face. "Oh... well I didn't mean to go on a rant about myself." She said with a nervous chuckle, turning even pinker.

Amiera smiled. "It's quite alright. I enjoy your company." She said as she opened the door to her apartment and let them in. There were a few boxes in a corner but most of her paintings had been hung up. A section of the living room, near the balcony was set up like a studio, with art supplies on a granite counter against a wall. A baby grand piano sat in the other corner. There was a hallway that led to a bathroom and two bedrooms. The door of one was closed and decorated with Amiera's name. Amiera went to the fridge in the small kitchen and opened it, grabbing two bottles of water and offering one to her guest. "Don't mind the mess. The movers unpacked almost everything."

Torra looked around the home of her new friend. "My goodness this is a nice place." She accepted the bottle with a thank you, walked over to the piano, "May I try?I used to play a little with my sister when we were young...but that was a long time ago."
Terra...she thought about her twin often, but she never talked about her to others. Having no idea where she was it was hard and made her choked up and teary. Shaking the thoughts off, she smiled.
"These paintings are wonderful by the way. Most people talk about emotions coming through their works but it's actually a rare thing to see."

"Thank you. And go ahead. I just had the piano tuned yesterday before it was brought here." She said as she got a painting apron and freshly stretched canvas. "It's nice to have the financial backing of the company now. Art supplies s so expensive. I had trouble funding my lifestyle because I had little money." Se said, reminiscing a little as she prepped her paints.
