That is right it is time to start planning the Christmas Event, we have roughly a month and a half from the time this post is posted to come up with an amazing Christmas event. Christmas is my personal favorite holiday so I am heading up this event. So We first will need a plot, then roughly 4-6 characters and a setting. Then contests, games, and you said it a possible secret Santa.

King Wreath and Lady Poinsettia are to be married on Christmas Day. The King was excited of their union so he decided to have a month long celebration (however long the Christmas event is going to last) until they become official. The King and his people decided their village (or somewhere else?) to be the setting of their festival fill with wreaths, poinsettias, lights, food, dancing and other Christmas theme decorations. His trusted advisor reminded him that Poinsettia didn’t want too much of a big celebration but the King ignored him/her like he always does. He was known to throw over the top parties and his Christmas/wedding shall be one of them. He ignored all the warnings from the leader of animals and the leader of spirits focusing only on having a good time. Soon the whole village were filled with guest from near and far. Music and laughter filled the air as everyone was having a merry old time as they awaited for the future queen to come back from her journey visiting her home village.

As the party went on, far into the mountains the trolls that lived there grew irritated by all the noise that lasted days and nights. Even the lights that shine so bright were preventing them from their sleep. They heard of the wedding between Wreath and Poinsettia from the animals and spirits that should be sleeping in the winter and were also tried of the noise. So the trolls came up with a plan to stop the celebration. They gather their drums and marched down the mountains bringing their coldness from the mountains with them.

Soon the days became darker and darker. Snow began piling up that it covered the whole ground. Winds became harsher and the trees hung low with heavy ice. The light of day was cover by a winter storm and the whole village took shelter in King’s castle stopping their celebration. They could hear loud drums and chants from outside the castle and knew that the trolls are bringing a harsher winter. It was so dark outside that there was no way that Lady Poinsettia can make it back to the village. Poinsettia's trusted servant arrived through the storm with a message saying Poinsettia will not miss their wedding day and is on her way.

The King was annoyed by the trolls for ruining his fun but was also grew worried for his future wife. He came up with a plan they will just party harder, set up even brighter lights and make even more noise so his wife will be able to find them even in the storm. The trolls, animals, or spirit weren’t going to ruin his Christmas and wedding celebration. So they did and the castle grew with more cheer and shined through the storm. Soon a servant spotted a glowing light coming through the storm. It was Lady Poinsettia who wore a wreath of lighted candles on her head and behind her were a parade of villagers and animals from her own home carrying torches to light her path. The king was happy that his future queen was back and explained how the trolls caused all this trouble. The queen scolded him saying that she was getting complaints from some of the other animals and spirits that were annoyed by all day and night partying. The King finally listen and apologized to the forest and trolls for the trouble he caused and invited them all to their wedding. The snow stop and the whole village looked like a beautiful winter wonderland. Wreath and Poinsettia are married (by Santa Claus/Saint Nick???) and they live happily ever after.

This sounds really awesome. One of the things that I think you guys should keep in mind is that you need to have enough so that people don't get bored. With how long the Gaia events seem to last, I think that this would work.

It seems that the main characters you would need would be:

King Wreath and his groomsmen
Lady Poinsettia and her bridesmaids
The Trolls (these could be played like the cats in the treehouse room last year)
Santa Claus/Saint Nick

I can see lots of stuff being able to happen during this. Specifically lots of stuff involving guests. Guest involvement is key.

Violet the Maestro

We could possibly add an Animal leader and Spirit Leader if they end up staying in the final revision of the plot. There's also Wreath's and Pionsettia's personal advisors if they end up with bigger roles.

Maybe to get guest involve we can have each day a goal number where people can vote, roll, or generate to get a certain number or total of numbers which will cause Pionsettia's to get closer to the village each day so she'll make it in time for her wedding.

Like some sort of tracker system. (A map with a chibi Pionsettia heading towards the village. Each goal we make she moves closer towards it.)

Possible Games...
Restricted Letter Games - Players cannot use a particular letter or group of letters when they post. We can decide how to restrict the letters. Examples could be only using letters that aren't in your screen name, not allowing the letters "C,H,R,I,S,T,M,A,S" etc.

Linked Words Game - A player posts two words that go together, the next poster must use the second word that the last poster used and come up with a new word. For example, "French bread," "bread pudding," "pudding cake."

Food Game - Take the last letter of a food that you'll see for a Christmas feast and try to come up with a new food word. Example,"Turkey," "Yams"

Who/What am I Christmas Edition - Base on the description/riddle given to you, guess the Christmas themed character or object. (Maybe characters that are and aren't so memorable from Christmas specials ?)

Christmas Triva quiz - Random facts dealing with Christmas.

Contest...
Drawing
Write a Story.
Vocaroo - Sing a whole Christmas Song

Maybe the advisors look over the games and contests...or twin jesters or something. I don't know. Just throwing ideas out there. sweatdrop

You have to remember with the characters that you're only going to have a limited number of staff. We can't tell the guests what to be.

With the games, I feel like trivia would be more interesting if you encompass all the winter holidays. I mean, yeah, I am a Christian and at times it's so much easier to think Christmas is the only holiday, but for the sake of trivia, it isn't. Most people seem to know the most about Christmas anyways. I played a Hanukkah song last year in orchestra, and I learned quite a bit. Don't ask how that happens when all you do is learn music. It just does.

Of course I know we can't tell guest what to be.lol I just suggested more characters for the just incase factor. If we don't need them we won't put them in the story.

I was in Chorus one year so we had to sing Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa songs. Yeah, you do learn alot especially the background information and history within the songs and music.

I agree that a Trivia quiz dealing with all holidays during this time of year would be good. I guess I was stuck on keeping it Christmas related.

Wow this looks amazing already! I love Main's idea (would soooo be a maid) and I think it's a refreshing change to always doing something with Santa as the host. You know?

I think Main's idea sounds pretty awesome! (:

The one thing I would be wary of is that, if you want to finish the plot, to have a constructed time-line, much like the actual ball.
Since the events go kind of slowly and casually, we might accidentally end up not making it to where Poinsettia returns to Wreath. So a timeline would be helpful in that occasion.

Be aware I am only going to be using official Committee co-hosts and maybe one or 2 more as official characters for this event, as I don't feel the need is necassary to have alot more.

As for the plot idea, I like the longer version, but I think we shouldn't make it like a king of sorts. I feel having a ballroom style (once in the castle) event will be a little too cliche. I don't know, just feeling like it will not really stand out from other people holding their own Gaia Christmas party threads/events. I don't know *hides in dark corner*
