Double Double Toil and Troubled Youth's Adoption Agency
Walking up to the forbidding looking mansion a clap of thunder and burst of lightening illuminate the home in stark relief. Swallowing any misgivings you may have you step up to the doorway and ring the bell. You are greeted by a noodle in all black with an unusually long muzzle. And is it just you or does her fur look a little....sallow?
She greets you in a rusty voice and beckons you inside. " Welcome my child, please please come in, would you like some candy?" With out a pause to hear your answer a bowl is presented to you and the femme rushes on" I am Domietra and I, together with my two sisters Persephone and Pandora run this orphanage. We are so pleased you have chosen to seek us out and help a....special... little one in need."
As she speaks another femme appears this time dressed quite provocatively in black, bearing a clip board, which she hands to you before speaking in a purr " Here we have just a smidge of paperwork to handle..."
As she trails off another slim waif like noodle, clad modestly in black approaches and sweetly picks up where her sister left off" ....once the paper work is filled out I will take you to meet a child!"

Looking down at the clipboard you find a rather tattered looking piece of paper that reads WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:

Giving the gift of....: (if you brought a gift tell us here!)
Child's Trouble/past : (tell us here what troubled past your child has.....and how it may relate to their physical appearance}- note these may or may not be used, mutations are cc'd
Future rp storyline : (tell us here how your new family will change over time.)
Meeting the child: (Tell us about your first meeting with your Child by answering one of the following prompts: (Place Prompt Response HERE)
PROMPT 1 After being ushered in to meet your kit the door closes, ominously. As a couple you are left alone with the child when suddenly lightening flashes through the windows, and then darkness as the power goes out. What happens?
PROMPT 2 Trick or Treat!: If you have a gift offer your kit the chance to trick or treat-which does your kit chose? How do they react to the gift if they chose treat......and/or what if they chose trick- how do they trick you?
PROMPT 3 There is something seriously wrong with your child- like tentacles. This should be part of your childs troubled past. Tell us how your couple react upon first seeing the child- and how your child reacts to them!
PROMPT 4 On the surface at least your kit perhaps appears perfectly normal. But as the meeting goes on you realize something is not right. Perhaps the child has a strange power that activates during this meeting. What happens?
Like this for example: WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: Tim Burton Parent One's Name: Jack, The Pumpkin King Parent One's Image Owner One's Username: Hekate Parent Two's Name: Sally, the Ragdoll Parent Two's Image Owner of Child is: Tim Burton
Proof of Lifemating:
Giving the gift of....: The Gift of Christmas.....ok, just a brightly wrapped box which when opened reveals a toy teddy bear
Child's Trouble/past : This child was left as a bowl, an had to make its own way in the world, as such its bowl got some cracks and chips. This has affected the noodle by leaving both physical scars and emotional ones. For example, right ear is missing. The kit is terrified of the color pink, scared of the dark, and afraid to be alone.
Future rp storyline : Over time I would gradually introduce my kit to things that are pink and show that there is little to nothing to be afraid of. I would be warm and supporting when they had nightmares and keep a nightlight in there room always. I would make sure that the child had a constant companion ( By getting it a familar, or a doll such as the teddy bear).
Meeting the child: (Pretend there is an RP response here....>.>....<.<...)

WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: Yushika Parent One's Name: Requiem Uchiha Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: ~Lady_Kanna~ Parent Two's Name: Xi-Feng Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Yushika
Proof of Lifemating Here
Giving the gift of....: A scarf made out of Xi-Feng's old kimono's. Because it's pretty and Requiem likes to be crafty when she can. Sometimes. Usually it's Xi-Feng who's better at that stuff....
Child's Trouble/past : The child comes from a quiet little dragon-tribe. It was content there, and born into a unique family full of love and happiness. And then the warrior tribe came, slashing down villagers and setting ablaze homes. The bowl emerged during this time, and a small child flopped into a world of blood and decay. Quietly, it curled against its dead parents until it was found a week later. The child was taken to the orphanage covered in the blood of its parents and a scar in its heart that would take many years to heal.
Future rp storyline : Well, Requiem will promise to protect the kit with her life. She's a ninja, and works as an assassin, guard, and other jobs, so she's qualified to do it. She'll teach the child how to defend themselves, and always be by the child's side. She'll be the "father" figure. Xi-Feng will be the "mother" figure and smother the child with love. She'll most likely dress the child up with her old kimono's and teach the child how to run a house. The child will be timid at first, and at times feral, but as it's introduced into the world of colors and affection it'll start to talk, having been a selective mute for awhile. It'll probably aspire to be like Requiem, a ninja, but eventually realize it just wants a world where blood-shed isn't a common factor. I want the kid to adore their parents, and be the sweetest (if a little off) kit possible. I do expect it to have some tantrums here and their related to their past, but it's parents love and affection will soothe the broken heart.
Meeting the child: Prompt 1.
It started with a thought. A simple one, honestly. They had been settled for awhile, and it was only natural when Xi-Feng raised her head and nervously stated she wanted kids. It had been just a thought at first. Requiem had nodded, putting little thought into it at first.
And then the months went by and Requiem started noticing children clothes. She started to pick up toys and hold them in her hands, considering taking it home. But for what? There was even a time Xi-Feng had thought she was pregnant, and yet when she shook her head and said "no, it was a false alarm" Requiem had realized how her heart dropped. No. She wanted kids. Badly.
And then the talk. What if they adopted? Taking in a child previously abandoned was something that Requiem approved of. She wanted to save someone. She wanted to give a child a home to curl into and feel safe. There were plenty of orphans, and so many were left behind for years. It was heartbreaking, really, and so the couple had decided. They'd adopt. Days were spent preparing a room. Weeks were spent buying toys and clothes and child-locking the house. Months were spent making sure they were truly ready.
And here they were, in some sketchy adoption agency, together. Xi-Feng's hand was clutched in Requiem's as they were ushered into a room. A strange child sat in the middle of the room, long hair covering it's face and strange, tattered wings splayed out. Requiem had been about to release her mates hand when, suddenly, the door slammed and the lights went out. Her heart hammered as her mate let out a quick gasp of fear. It took seconds for her protective instincts to kick in, releasing her mates hand to slam the door open. It was locked. Great. s**t...
Lightening flashed, permitting sight for a few seconds. That was enough for Requiem to get her bearings. Enough to spot her mate crouch down. Her mate gently reached out to the strange child, who was now trembling in fear and looking up with frightened and yet strange eyes. The kit hissed, lashing out and sending a long scratch mark up Xi-Feng's arm. Requiem made a move to touch her mate, but the other raised her hand gently, a soft "shh" sound leaving her as she fondly smiled at Requiem before focusing on the kit again.
Xi-Feng was saying something, but the thunder was too loud for Requiem to decipher what. The woman turned back to bang on the door, shouting for someone to just open the door. And then, she paused. Her head turned as lightening flashed once more and she froze. Her mate was on her knees, kimono pooled around her, and her arms were outstretched. The kit was trembling, snarling at the woman. And then, another flash and clap of thunder. The kit lunged for Xi-Feng, sending fear through Requiem's spine as she made a move to help Xi-Feng.
It wasn't needed.
The kit was gripping the woman tightly around the middle. Small arms clung, hands digging into the kimono as the tiny body shook with frightened sobs. Xi-Feng gently stroked the others long hair, humming gently and locking her eyes with Requiem's. The ninja eyed the two, admiring the scene before her. Her beloved mate was embracing a child, and it felt right. It was beautiful. The child's fear echoed in the room, and the ninja couldn't stop her compassion from sparking. Slowly, she made her way over, kneeling down beside her mate and the child and rummaging in her bag, bringing out a scarf of beautiful oranges, whites, and reds. Gently, she wrapped it around the child's neck, offering an awkward but warm smile when the kit glanced up. The child clung to Xi-Feng tighter, trying to hide from Requiem briefly.
"It's okay. We'll make sure you're safe." Requiem assured, pulling her mate closer and flicking her tail around the two. The kit stared, briefly squirming to view Requiem's own strange eyes. It seemed to confirm something, the small girl offering a tilt of her head at the fact the other also had weird eyes. Slowly, the kit moved, allowing itself to curl into both of the woman's laps, eyes closing as her body trembled with each clap of thunder. Xi-Feng hummed gently, and Requiem awkwardly but kindly held the kits hand.
By the time the lights came back on and the door was opened Xi-Feng was carrying the small child, and Requiem was asking for a sheet of paper to begin the adoption.

WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: ChezaRain Parent One's Name: Jordan Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: Aya-Firebird Parent Two's Name: Leana Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Aya-Firebird
Proof of Lifemating: [X]
Giving the gift of....: "What about a pistol? That way no one can pick on-" "You can't give a kit a gun! D<" "...Then a knife, that's still a good defense-" "I.... ugh, fine. But if he throws it, I'm confiscating it..."
Child's Trouble/past : It was hard, being born poor. Mom hadn't been that great a woman, as long as the kit had known her before she dumped him on the Orphanage steps. She'd fallen for the wrong guy and got stuck with kits that reminded her of him, so she ditched them. The bowl didn't look like much, but the little bits here and there holding it together looked awfully fragile, as if she's dropped it a thousand times before abandoning it. The father must've some kind of creepy too, because that didn't look like a healthy shade of green on the bowl.
Future rp storyline : There's going to be quite a bit of butting heads between kit and daddy at first, but Leana will help the little kit loosen up and learn to have fun with life, whether or not Daddy agrees.
Meeting the child: Prompt 2-
Jordan loved Leana. He loved her little quirks and the way she seemed to always get under his fur with the things she did. It was out of love that he chose to agree to going with her to the Orphanage to see the kits running around and having fun, despite the fact he wasn't exactly the type for offspring. Sure, his brother Romania had kids, and they were fine but he... Jordan... he just didn't think he was capable of handling them. He had barely registered they had made it within the walls of the creaky old building when Leana had darted off, making a bee-line for one little guy in particular. He'd been sitting by himself, but he was using a dart gun to hit the other kits long-range. Oh great, Jordan groaned internally.
By the time he'd gotten close enough to hear, conversation between the two had ceased and Leana was handing the kit a rather sharp-looking knife to play with instead. The kit was tossing the knife into the air and catching it easily, a smirk on his face. "Alright, alright, you had your fun..."Jordan huffed, quickly snatching the weapon out of the air above the kit's outstretched paw and tucking it into his belt. "Hey, buddy, that's mine!" He pouted, slumping against Leana's legs with a pout. Leana glanced down at him before turning her gaze to Jordan, "But.. that's the gift I gave him. why did you take it?" Jordan flushed lightly, glad for his helmet, "It's a stupid gift to give a kit, that's why!" A soft while and Jordan cringed, but turned around slowly. Both the kit and Leana were making that same face at him, and he sighed in exasperation, "OH FINE!" He quickly pulled the knife from his waist and slapped it on the floor in front of the two, quickly turning away from them and staring out the window. The cheers of jubilation behind him were find... but the air that whissed past his ear suddenly was not. He blinked and looked at the knife protruding a few inches from the wall to his right and quickly shot his gaze back, the kit and Leana both pointing to each other for the blame.
Wrinkling his nose, he walked away from both of them, only to have Leana catch up very shortly. "I want that one." He blinked a few times. Was she serious?
"Why him?"
Leana seemed to be thinking it over a bit, but she nodded her head, "I just know. He's good."
Jordan looked past her to the kit they'd just left to his own, watching as he seemed to be trying to pull the knife from the wall without much luck, and he sighed. "Ugh fine. But if he does that again I'll drag him right back here."
She bounced with joy and, rather suddenly, whipped his helmet off and planted a kiss on his cheek before running for the front desk. The kit looked at Jordan and grinned like he had something up his sleeve.
Flushing a bright red, Jordan quickly shoved his helmet back on. Oh, great.
[[ To be tweaked up a bit. ]]

WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: Path of the Dragon Parent One's Name: Tordânge Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: Of the Epidemic Parent Two's Name: Prince Adaras Tri-Odelion Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Path of the Dragon
Proof of Lifemating: [x]
Giving the gift of....: A blue and white scarf that they chose together, with considerable care. Adaras remembered well how cold he used to be as a bowl and as a kit, and wished to impart the wonders of warmth upon the child. Tordânge valued the meaning behind the colors, which were so much more than the shades of his bleu ange. White for peace, innocence and completion. For they came in peace to an innocent child, with the wish to make their lives complete through family. Blue for trust, loyalty and integrity. For the child would have to trust them, and they would have to be loyal to that trust and show the child how to lead a life of integrity. Everything has meaning, and no gift to a child chosen between them would ever be without careful thought from both of them.
Child's Trouble/past : This kit’s parents were swept away in a storm when it was but a wee bowl. The howling winds pulled the entire family toward the sea, where the ocean took the adults as sacrifice for the bowl that was spared, lodged securely between two rocks. Falling into the protective embrace of the cold stones, the bowl was chipped and waterlogged, but otherwise safe from the violence of the ocean itself. Lightning and thunder are frightening, but it is the sound of wind whistling that truly makes this kit tremble in terror. For all that was faced, he does not fear the ocean but rather feels that he was spared for a reason. Because of this, he bears his scars and his unusual markings with an odd mixture of grief and pride. For though he was chosen for something, spared for some reason he doesn’t yet know, the price paid feels too high and too lonely.
Future rp storyline : Together, Tordânge and Adaras will hold the kit through every troubled storm and through stories and gentle words, teach him that he does not need to fear the wind any more than he fears the ocean. Through Tordânge, he will learn to see the beauty and vibrancy of life from the eyes of an artist and musician. From Adaras, he will learn to be unfailingly kind, gentle and loving. As a family, they will not ever have to face the world alone. Tordânge has ulterior motives, however. He sees a beauty in his beloved angel that Adaras himself cannot see. It is Tordânge's hope that by teaching their child to love himself, Adaras in turn, will come to do the same.
Meeting the child: Prompt One.
Ever since Tor had first laid eyes on Adaras, he had been unable to get the beautiful man out of his mind. That was how it had all started, really. Just one look, and it was as though the heavens themselves had opened up to reveal to his eyes its greatest treasure. He had been beside himself, certain that one so beautiful would come with the usual drawbacks. Such as a terrible personality, or worse, a lack of one. Tor had seen so many beautiful people in his time, been captivated by the idea of painting them, or the thought of a song to the way they moved, only to be jarred away by the harshness hidden behind poise. Yet among the many things taught to him by his parents, was to hold faith in others, no matter what.
So he had approached and been damned, ever since, to love the sweet prince to the depths of his being. His bleu ange was many things, though arrogant and prideful were not among them. Tor had wanted nothing more than to love and protect him, but it seemed there were scars not even pure adoration could heal. It had bothered Tor considerably, causing darker shades to splash across his paintings and crashing crescendos to find their way into his music, as his frustration with the world for wounding one so gentle made itself known in the safest outlet he had.
It was happenstance that he had passed the orphanage one day, but the more time spent bouncing around ideas, the more he kept going back to it. Adaras had been alone for so long. His family truly was Tordânge. Yet he had so much to give, so much beauty and love that could be shared – should be shared – and who better to receive that gentle blessing, than a child just as alone as Adaras had once been? Who better to heal him, than someone he sought to heal? Strength born of love was the most powerful of all, for it never waned. You could always make more of it, especially if you had a heart as kind as Tor’s ange.
It had taken some convincing, several gentle prods, nuzzles and even a few hugs and kisses, but eventually Tor did manage to get Adaras to agree. Together, they went and picked out a scarf to grant their little one as a welcoming gift, and though Adaras had wibbled a bit at the color choice, Tor managed to persuade him gently on that front as well.
They were waiting now, and when two women passed by, Tor thought nothing of it at first. They stopped, speaking in hushed voices, their backs to Adaras as one murmured darkly, “There’s something wrong with that one.” Andaras stiffened, before bowing his head and shifting back, his movement attracting Tor’s attention and causing him to bristle at the women, even as the orphanage manager came up and quickly ushered them into the room that they had just left.
Tor slid close to Adaras, about to say something scathing to the woman when the door slammed behind her, startling him. He blinked, then noted that Adaras was looking at something else and followed his gaze. The kit had tucked himself as far into the corner as the room would allow, his fur raised to make himself look bigger and to better hide the scars that marred his features. Though he was backed up, the kit wasn’t hiding himself in any of the places he would have been better shielded. He allowed himself to be seen, and in that moment, Tor immediately knew that this was the one. This kit, who even scared and ridiculed, still wished to be seen and wanted.
He took a step toward the little one, lowering his head in order to seem smaller, when lightning flashed through the windows and made his head come up again. There was a loud bang as the wind slammed a shutter, and then the whole room went black as the power was cut in the surge of the storm. “It’s alright!” Tor called instantly, keeping his voice soothing and calm for both Adaras and the kit.
He felt Adaras come up beside him, careful to tilt himself so that his blades would cause no harm. The two called out to the kit, told him to stay still while they made their way over to him in the dark. The kit seemed surprisingly fine, until the room began to whistle in the wind. High, keening whines of fright drew them quickly to the little one, and they curled their bodies about him, Adaras careful to keep his blades clear as the kit scrambled to bury himself against them. As Tor spoke soothingly, he noted the way the kit chose to wedge himself very firmly between both adults, seeming only to calm down once he was pinned between their haunches and had their forepaws serving as a bowl-like shape. Adaras cooed, nuzzling the top of the kit’s head, as Tor slid his tail about them and lowered his head so that the kit was completely encircled by them.
Eventually, the wind faded away and the door opened, revealing the orphanage manager and candlelight out in the hall. Gently, Tor and Adaras nudged the little one up and walked out, keeping him wedged between them, where he seemed the most comfortable. Out in the hall with the others, the kit leaned a bit into Adaras at all the eyes that gazed on them, and Tor watched with a glowing sense of pride as Adaras gently draped the scarf around the kit’s neck, causing him to look up in surprise and earn a nose bump as he was claimed with a subtle pride by his new parent. Tor’s tail waved at the sight, and he knew that his instincts were right.
The child was as perfect as the angel at his side.

Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: Nasaiki Parent One's Name: Yami Indra Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: Katsura Zanshin Parent Two's Name: Tempo Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Katsura Zanshin
Proof of Lifemating: Here
Giving the gift of....: A pendent with a french horn hanging from it. It is magically enchanted to play when the holder is feeling sad or has bad dreams. It plays soothing lullabies.
Child's Trouble/past : The kit was born into the perfect family; rich, sophisticated, and beautiful. Too bad he was born with tentacles and stitches/scars marring his entire body. They took one look at his appearance and deemed him an unworthy stain on their family. Every hateful word they said cut him straight to his soul, causing deep and lasting wounds.
Future rp storyline : Teaching him to come to terms with how he looks and to never let anyone tell you that you're worthless. Works especially well with Yami's take on his own 'deformity' and Tempo's insistence that there's nothing wrong with either of them. Also, her large family will shower the kit in lurves.
Meeting the child: Prompt 3
They went in to meet the kit that had been chosen for them, the 'to-be' adoptive parents eager to meet the new member of the family. The kit sat there, looking sad and like he expected to be hit or yelled at. He had stitches all up and down his body though the little tentacles that were sprouting out of him were trying their best to cover them. Oblivious to the extra bits the child sported, Tempo took one look at his cautious expression and kneeled, bringing herself to his level and smiling at him.
“Isn't he lovely, Yami?” She asked her mate before turning back to the little kid. Hello there, I'm Tempo and this is my husband, Yami. What's your name?” The boy eyed both of them before mumbling something about not liking his name.
Yami looked at the kit and gave him a half smile, the kit was rather cute and Yami always loved children...but.... "Tempo, I'm not sure about this, you know how cruel and close-minded the villagers can be. I don't want to help a hurt child like this if the villagers are only going to attack or shun him."
Tempo frowned up at Yami. “Not all of the villagers are like that, and most of the people who come to Yun's cafe are perfectly lovely to all of our family. If any of the village brutes come looking for trouble, I'll give them some. I owe them anyway.” Tempo looked her mate with big, pleading eyes. “We can keep him safe, Yami, and we can give him a big home with a loving family, grandparents to spoil him, and aunts, uncles and cousins to play with. You want to come home and join our family, don't you?”
The little boy nodded slowly and Tempo reached out and pulled him into a hug, putting on her sweetest face and looked back at her mate. “Pleeeeaaaaaase?” The boy looked up at Yami too, hope and caution reflected in his eyes.
Yami couldn't resist that face when Tempo made it; and he certainly couldn't turn away from the hope in the boy's face. Also, he knew Tempo would never say it but, who else would adopt the boy? Few people would look past his features to see what a good kid he was, and it would get worse as he got older. "Alright, alright. We can definitely make sure he stays safe together. Lets go fill out the papers." He smiled down at the boy. "Welcome to the family, son."

WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: jinxgirl5 Parent One's Name: Starlight Starbright Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: lisais-fire619 Parent Two's Name: Sarah Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: jinxgirl5
Proof of Lifemating [ click ] (It's on that page, though you might have to scroll around a bit depending on where the link spits you up at...)
Giving the gift of....: Cute Halloween! Well, you know, it is getting close to that time of the year, so it seemed appropriate. They didn't know what gender their child would be, so they picked out a dragon plushie. It's something nice to snuggle with, and should please either a boy or a girl!

Child's Trouble/past : The bowl was found in a swamp notorious for spooky happenings. Whether or not it originated from an inhabitant or was left there will probably never be known for sure; the bowl itself looked more like a bad craft project. Ironically the child is terrified of ghosts and is easily spooked. Well, the inhabitants of the haunted swamp are also known for their love of pulling pranks on the unsuspecting, so it's probably nothing a little therapy can't fix! After all, possession or curses are quite rare...
Future rp storyline : Starlight and Sarah are both very open-minded and not easily freaked, so I'm thinking they'll work with the kit to overcome its fear of spooky things. Over time I see it getting better, but ghosts or anything ghost-like still freak it out. It'll freak a bit when it meets its new uncle for the first time, since James is also transparent. I want do see the kit first, so I can fashion a backstory about its time in the forest as a bowl and link in a reason as to why ghosts specifically freak it out the most. My plan in the end is to have it discover it possesses a magic ability that ties in with ghosts in some way. It would make the kit (and eventual adult) all kinds of comically distressed as it tries to muddle through its fear in order to learn. Actually, my mental image is the kiddo can put spirits in dolls or plushies. Like it tries to keep making cute plushies, but they come out all creepy and possessed. Since the kid is afraid of ghosts, it's constantly running around with a horde of plushies giving chase. Not cause they don't like the kid, just cause most of them are impish and like to tease it. I would actually like to do a storyline where the one friendly/helpful ghost the kid ever meets comes to possess the dragon plushie given by Star and Sarah, or perhaps was already in the plushie for some reason.
Star and Sarah will be there as support the whole way. I do see it eventually wandering off on its own as an adult, but still keeping in touch with family since they make it feel strong and safe. I definitely want it to make a lot of spooky-themed friends, like a second family it can wander with when not with Star and Sarah. It would be especially funny if it could make a friend that freaks even Star and Sarah out a bit, who insists on sticking with the kid at all times. Basically all future plans are based on scare-comedy with bits of serious thrown in here and there.
Meeting the child: Prompt 4
Star handed the clipboard back to the woman. She looked it over and clicked her tongue in what might have been a disapproving manner, but Star was used to that so he didn't pay a lot of attention. The woman appeared to have finished reading. She waggled her fingers at Star in a fashion that suggested he was to follow and led him down a small hall and to a closed door off to the side. She opened the door and gestured he was to go in.
"I'll send your child in for now. I trust your mate will be here shortly. I'll direct her to the room when she arrives." With that she closed the door before Star could even respond.
He explored the room a bit. Very dark, dingy, and damp. Three whole D words that he didn't often actually see used together. It was impressive. Suddenly the door opened and a small child was thrust through the opening before snapping shut. The two stared at each other, the child in befuddlement and Star with interest. The child looked normal enough. Perhaps something with the fur was a bit off, but that was really it. The eyes though were really quite something!
"Totally radical peeps you got there. Diggin' 'em." The kit laughed and did a small twirl to show off its entire body.
"I'm cute as buttons! Wait, I already have buttons! No wonder!" Another peal of laughter, and Star joined in.
They had been chatting about various sewing techniques when suddenly the door opened and in came Sarah. She frowned at her mate. "Star, I love you but we really need to work on your direction skills. I need more details!" A squeaking sound drew her attention to the kit in the room, who was turning interesting colors. And...patterns. The couple would later agree the child had covered quite a large spectrum.
"G-ghost," it eeped, then dove behind Star with an impressive leap. It took a bit of explaining that yes, Sarah was transparent, but no, she was not a ghost and was in fact quite solid despite the transparency. Finally the youngster did emerge, and with a bit of coaxing and sweetness from Sarah soon it was laughing and perfectly cheerful once more. ( I'm deliberately using it instead of a gender-specific pronoun so it'll be a surprise what shows up. )

WE HAVE ENOUGH LOVE TO GET US INTO TROUBLE! Adoption Forms:
Owner One's Username: ArashiX Parent One's Name: Aether Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: Mia Lavinia Parent Two's Name: Mimi Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Bitter Magic (Ara and I agreed on giving the kid to a third person <3)
Proof of Lifemating hopefully shows the right post
Giving the gift of....: Homemade pastries and a good book! Both Aether and Mimi enjoy spending time in the kitchen, and they also share a passion for reading.
Child's Trouble/past : The bowl was much neglected, and the child has signs of physical abuse on their body. Ultimately having been abandoned by the abusive parents, the child is now distrustful towards everybody and refuses to let anyone come close. They're also terrified of loud sounds and large shadows to the point of often hiding anywhere possible - a closet, under a bed.. Also, much to the child's dismay, things tend to fall and break near him for some strange reason.
Future rp storyline : Aether and Mimi would spend a long time trying to win the child's trust with their patience and kindness - and of course lots of treats. Once they're no longer wary of touch, Mimi would gladly spend a small eternity cradling the child when they get frightened by something, while Aether would calmly read them stories of knights and princesses and magical kingdoms. Things would break less often, but still get knocked over now and then.. and sometimes mysteriously switch places.
Meeting the child: Prompt 4.
Mimi adored children. That had always been a fact, and a trait she shared with her mate, Aether. Even they had met when she was still just a kit, and he already a grown-up.
Now, they were both yearning for a child to raise together. They had been trying to have kits for a while when the idea of adoption arose.
And thus, they had ultimately ended up in this little, dimly lit room, with a small pair of suspicious eyes glaring at them from the corner. Mimi had knelt down, warmly holding out a hand to the child, who had just backed away even further. This elicited a sigh from the small female, though she still kept smiling at the kit. She rattled the little container tucked under her other arm, and opened it to reveal fresh homemade biscuits and muffins. "We brought these for you", she said softly. The kit's eyes lit up, and its mouth opened slightly, watering from the scent of the pastries. Yet the child didn't move an inch.
Eyeing the room, Aether noticed a lamp conveniently placed in the corner opposite the child on the other side of the room. He nudged Mimi, pointing to the corner, and together they moved there, placing one of the room's extra blankets to serve as something to sit on. "We also brought you a storybook, see.. but we weren't quite sure whether you knew how to read, so how about we read it for you for a while?" the male said warmly, turning on the lamp and opening up the book. Meanwhile, Mimi was setting out the cookies and muffins out on a little plate next to them. "You should come over here and enjoy these with us", she urged. The kit kept staring with hungry eyes. It had probably never tasted sweets before, but boy, did a child's nose know when it smelled something good!
Clearing his throat for a bit and curling his tail affectionately around his mate, Aether began to read aloud a story about brave medieval knights and magical dragons with huge hoards of treasure.. Mimi took out a cookie, snuggling up to Aether comfortably, both making sure they didn't make eye contact with the kit. Soon enough, the kit calmed down enough to sit down, still yearning for the sweets but stubbornly staying far away from the couple's reach. Mimi nibbled on her cookie, smiling contently as Aether kept reading in his soothing voice, altering the tone for each character and to emphasize certain events. The child was captivated, and slowly began to inch its way towards the plate of pastries laid out in front of them. Still wary and ready to jump at the slightest move, the kit was finally only a few feet away from the treats, just barely within the reach of the lamp's light. Many scars were visible all over the small body, and the clothes covering the child were dirty and somewhat torn. The kit kept staring, seeming almost equally entranced by the story and the sweets. As Mimi slowly reached over to take another cookie, the child backed up a little, hissing at the approaching hand. Seemingly frustrated, the kit soon sat back in their previous spot, eyes fixated on the plate.
Suddenly, one of the cookies moved a little. Mimi blinked, but Aether had not yet noticed from his story-telling. Then another little nudge. After a few more, the cookie slowly began to float, as if a shaky, invisible hand had gotten hold of it. Clumsily, it was then flung at the kit's feet. The child then unceremoniously devoured it, seconds later wiping crumbs off their face. Both of the adults were staring momentarily, Aether pausing his reading briefly, eyes wide. They continued to smile despite their wide eyes, not really minding oddities. Aether then resumed reading, Mimi leaning into him once more, both occasionally glancing at the plate whose contents were depleting little by little. Now and then Mimi thought she could almost catch a glimpse of a shadowy arm.. but maybe it was just her imagination.
Finally, the story came to an end, and Aether calmly closed the book, smiling at the child who seemed to have calmed down a fair bit. "There are more stories in the book, we could read them together later?" he suggested, smiling. The child nodded, expression still rather serious. Mimi then noticed there were still two cookies left on the plate. "You didn't eat all of them? Didn't you like them?" she asked, a little concerned. They had both poured their hearts into baking the gift they brought, after all.
"I thought we were supposed to share them.." the child finally said, staring at their feet. The couple chuckled softly, gathering their belongings. "There's more where those came from", Aether said with a warm smile, holding Mimi by the hand, the female nodding.

Owner One's Username: Zoeybird92 Parent One's Name: Prince Zylon Summit Parent One's Image
Owner Two's Username: Zoeybird92 Parent Two's Name: Sky Lyndburger Parent Two's Image

Proof of Lifemating Proof
Giving the gift of....: A black vest with a skull patch on it and three tears like a wild cat attacked it.
Child's Trouble/past : The parents of this poor bowl, abandoned it after strange things started happening. They would look away and turn back to find it gone, only to discover it sitting in the corner of another room chiming quietly as if talking to something unseen. The last straw was when they were having dinner and suddenly things started flying everywhere and cuts/scratches began appearing on their bodies and on the bowl when they tried to get close to their child. This was the only orphanage that would take it.
The poor thing now believes that no one can get close to it without being injured by their spooky, invisible, spiky friend (who is actually the one hurting others) so it's given up on ever being happy or being loved.
Future rp storyline : They bring the little one home, but it will take some convincing to prove that Sky really doesn't fear it. The moment of truth will be one day when the kit gets in a mood and doesn't want to be bothered. When Sky tries to get close, the invisible spook scratches her. Instead of running away she yells at the unseen creature and rushes closer to hug the kit and comfort the surprised and overjoyed child, despite the fact she is still being attacked. Zylon rushes in and uses his wind power to hold the monster back while the kit dissolves into tears as he finally feels like part of a whole family.
Meeting the child: PROMPT 2
Sky followed Zylon a few steps behind, as they followed the creepy ladies down a hall. "Maybe this isn't such a good idea..." She said nervously looking at the locks on some of the doors.
"Nonsense! All your siblings are grown up and you need someone to keep you busy. You promised you wouldn't spazz out...are you spazzing out?" Sky shook her head as Zylon smiled at her. "Here, you can hold the present." He handed her the black vest that had a skull patch resting awkwardly on the chest.
"I dunno, what if it doesn't like it. Don't most kids want toys?" She tugged at one of her ponytails as Zylon looked back and gave her her favorite crooked grin.
"These kids are different. Like me! Some may want toys, but what they need is someone to love them and give them what they need. Okay?" She opened her mouth to answer, but the darkly garbed lady ushered them over to a door she had stopped at. Zylon squeezed her hand and pulled her along as the door was unlocked and swung open. The room was very drab and empty, save for a small nightstand, table, two chairs, and an ugly grey bed with a small kit sitting on it. It stared blankly into the corner as if in a timeout. The door swung shut behind them and Sky gave out a little squeak and clung to Zylon who didn't flinch. Ever since Sky had met Zylon, her life had become more crazy. Yes, even more than her family.
"Trick 'r Treat, kiddo. What'll it be?" Zylon took a seat in one of the awkward wooden chair as Sky took the one furthest from the kit.
"You brought me something?" The poor thing seemed genuinely confused at the thought that someone would bring it a present. Zylon chucked and waved him over.
"Come on, you know you want to see what it is." He pointed to Sky who realized that she was the one holding it. The kit looked her straight in the eyes. It could tell she was scared.
"I know what you've come here for." The kit turned back to the corner. "I'm not going home with you." Sky shrunk in her seat. She felt bad for being scared of a little kit. Zylon reached across the table to wink at her and nodded for her to give him the vest. She didn't look away from the kit as he took it and stood up.
"Come on now. Don't you at least wanna see what we brought you?" He took a step forward and the kit shrunk into the corner shaking it's head furiously.
"DON'T COME CLOSER! STAY AWAY!" The kit watched him with wide eyes and turned to face Zylon, showing scars on his face, arms, and neck. Zylon paused, taken aback by the the extreme reaction, but quickly recovered and took another step forward before stopping. The kit's tattered sheets were bunched up under it's feet as it tried to push itself into the next room.
"It's okay. Look." Zylon held up the vest for it to see. "See, it's got a cool skull on it! Don't you want to try it on?" As he started to move forward, the kit threw up his hands it a 'stop-what-you're-doing-you-don't-understand' motion. Zylon ignored him and, as he reached the bed, there was a rush of air as scratches appeared on his face and vest. He stumbled back and dropped the vest as it was torn from his hands. Sky rushed over to Zylon and started pulling him towards the door.
"Are you okay?! What just happened?! Let's go!" Sky started shaking when she saw the blood, but Zylon waved her off and gave her a confident smile, that chased away most of her fear. He straighten himself and smoothed out his fluff, before stooping to pick up the fallen vest.
"Don't think I'm gonna give up that easily, kiddo!" He shook the vest to chase away the dirt and dust it had collected off the ground. "You know want to try it on..." Zylon's face was one of cocky amusement and Sky couldn't help but admire him. The kit looked down at its dirty, grey, over sized shirt and back at the sleek, clean vest. There was a sad, tired look in its eyes and it was easy to tell it was very tempted at the thought of going home and wearing nice clothes. Suddenly it shook itself.
"No. You'll only get hurt if you come close to me." It sighed, but kept a defiant face. Zylon's smile widened and he chuckled. The kit looked shocked at Zylon's reaction and sat wide-eyed as he, once again, moved towards it. This time, however, his fluff shuttered and his long braid swayed as he summoned a shield of wind around himself. The kit's jaw dropped as Zylon sat next to him on the bed. The seats ruffled around him and he held up the vest for the kit to see.
"What do you think, Sky?" Zylon grinned back at her. Sky, who had been standing watching Zylon with same shocked look as the kit, relaxed and smiled.
"I think it's a perfect match." She moved closed and felt the gentle tug of the wind around her. Knowing she was protected from whatever attacked Zylon, she came over and sat next to Zylon and the kit. The kit gave her an unsure look, but didn't seem to wish her away. It reached out slowly and felt the vest.
"I think..." It said quietly, "I think I will try on this vest after all...I do like the skull." Zylon smiled and gave Sky his 'told-you-so' face. She rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything as Zylon helped the kit out of its dirty rags and into the new, slightly damaged vest.
"Lovely," the three jumped at the sound of one of the ladies coming back into the room. She called out to one of her sisters, "Get the rest of the papers! This one's going home!"

Owner Two's Username: Parasitic Candii Parent Two's Name: Cylistine Parent Two's Image
Owner Of Child is: Parasitic Candii
Proof of Lifemating X
Giving the gift of....: A lantern, bound together by Eri’s shadows so as to be indestructible. A few of Cyli’s lightly glowing feathers bound together in the center to make up the glow. So that it is never hot to the touch.

Child's Trouble/past : Born to a mother with little care for it, the child was often subject to neglect. Its mother, a woman of experiments often did untold horrors to the little one. Still, through all of this the child loved its mother, loved her fiercely. When an experiment went horribly array, she locked the baby in the basement. She locked the kit away from the light and love of the world till the child’s eyes could no longer handle light. Nightmares plague this child, night terrors, and once freed from the darkness it never wants to return. The kit’s one true fear is darkness, but sleep is something that brings fear as well.
Future rp storyline : Eriesyi also suffers from a fear of the dark, or did at one point in her life. When she was at the gates of hell fighting with Kita for Cyli; Cyli gave her a lantern and over time taught her how to see the darkness as calming. Cylistine has the ability to give dreamless sleep with her songs. Together they will offer the kit dreamless sleep while teaching it how to control the nightmares. Then slowly they will move on to its fear of the dark. The will leave the lantern with it at all times, while also slowly teaching the kit to embrace the dark as a time of calm and rest.
Meeting the child: Prompt 1
Cylistine and Eriesyi had been looking to expand their family for some time now. They had just been settling down for kits the first time when tragedy struck. After so long apart they had needed time to come to terms with everything that had happened. With the changes Eriesyi had gone through and thus what she had become. Still as time moved forward and they became the same loving couple they had once been things started shifting towards expanding their family once more.
It had taken Cylistine some time to show Eri that there was no reason for her to hide what she had become. Cyli had always been so gentle, trusting, loving and that nature eventually won Eri over in the end. Till she no longer felt the need to cower at the sight of kits for fear she might scare them. They had been trying for some time now, to no avail when Eri had passed by the orphanage on one of her many wanderings. The shadow clad female had stopped for a moment when the idea had entered her mind. They could adopt, so much love could be given between the two of them to a child that had none.
She brought the idea to Cylistine that night, her beautiful phoenix. She had been smitten with the idea, and had twittered about for days. Together they crafted a lantern, not unlike the one Cylistine had given Eriesyi all that time ago. It was a part of both of them, as this kit would come to be. The lantern was crafted from the very shadows that made up Eriesyi’s soul and body now. The light inside given off by several of Cylistine’s glowing feathers; it would be a guide to their new child and something to show how much the little kit meant to them. Crafted as the gift was from parts of themselves, it was the most special of items.
The day of the adoption found Cylistine fluttering about with excitement and Eri slinking about nervously. They had entered the orphanage side by side, though at the startling sight of the females Eriesyi seemed to stand a bit taller. Her eyes pinpricks of light as she stood protectively beside her dove. They were bustled about then before being left in a room.
The door slamming shut behind them caused Eri’s tail to bristle and Cylistine’s wings to flutter slightly. The banshee gave the door a reproachful look while her love scanned the room for the child. The phoenix’s eyes landed on a small fluff which was sitting directly in the center of the well lit room. Carefully it had placed itself away from the shadowed areas of the space, though the kit’s eyes were squinted as if the light hurt.
“Small one!” She twittered lightly, her voice high and musical. “Cylistine.” She lifted a paw to point to herself before motioning with a wing towards the female beside her. “Eriesyi.” The femme’s broken speech pattern was something Eriesyi had long since grown used to. All told she found it rather endearing, she had just turned to inspect the kit when a crack of thunder sounded. The lights flickered twice before they were all plunged into utter darkness.
The loud squealing of a terrified kit was the first thing to reach their ears. Though Eriesyi was faster than Cylistine in reaching the kit; mostly due to the fact she had spent years moving with great speed in little light. She wrapped her tail around the kit as Cylistine came over, allowing herself to glow softly. Eriesyi pulled forth from her side both her own lantern and the one they had intended to give the kit.
“There now, it’s alright. You aren’t alone. It’s alright.” Eri cooed softly as she tucked the kit between herself and Cylistine. The phoenix extended a softly glowing wing to completely encompass the kit in soft light effectively banishing the darkness. “I don’t like the dark.” Were the only words that left the kit’s mouth as it curled up between the two femmes. Cylistine cooed softly at the little one tucked into her side. “Eriesyi either.” She twittered before something seemed to occur to her and she clicked her beak. “Neither does Eri.” She amended lightly.
“She is right, I do not.” Eri spoke in a soft tone, lowering her head down for the kit. “But I have learned to accept it more now. You may keep this lantern; it will always bring you light. Even in the darkest of places.” The black female spoke in the gentlest of tones as she nuzzled the lamp they had brought towards the kit. “If you ever do find yourself alone in the dark, my shadows will protect you. Alright? Of that I swear.”
With her words the female’s shadow broke away slightly to wave at the kit before settling back into place. Cylistine gave a soft humming noise and lowered her head to the ground. She started a soft song, one of joy but also meant as a lullaby. This was the kit for them, of that she had no doubt.

Giving the gift of....: A pile of steaming hot dogs from the hot dog stand, the place where we shared our first kiss. I know it’s random, but we…just really like hotdogs. They brought us together.
Child's Trouble/past : A waif of a little girl, this orphan has spent her short life an experiment of DNA splicing, with only a number for a name—Thirteen. The scientists who were working on Level 13 considered Thirteen their prize, the one child that made it through the experimentation without premature death. She’s a blend of different elements and energies…packed like a battery full of energy. She’s the perfect weapon to them—and had the organization not burned to the ground in an ‘accidental’ flash fire, perhaps Thirteen would’ve grown up cold and emotionless just like her makers. Instead, the timid little girl is trying valiantly to learn to control the energy inside of her, which causes both anxiety and horrible night terrors. No one knows how SHE made it out of the burning laboratory…not even her…
Future rp storyline : Present--Sweet and peppy with an air of innocence about her that makes her all the more endearing, Jai was a Lost Girl before she found her mate, the fox that changed her life for the better... She's one who believes in soulmates and that Kallan is her One True Love. She dreams of a house on a hill and three beautiful kids.
Kallan on the other hand is soft-spoken and quiet with a good sense of humor. He doesn't let his past define him--but he wasn't always a good fox... He had a rough childhood growing up and he was a delinquent, but he met Jai and fell in love with her eyes like stars and knew that was it--he needed to man up and take care of the girl with hope in her heart, to make her dreams come true.
Future—They’ve been dating for a long while now; Kallan has yet to tie the knot, because even though he wants to, he’s got cold feet…so he’s doing the next best thing. Jai is in love with Halloween and Kallan wants to do something amazing for her favorite holiday…and when he passes by the adoption agency, he gets an idea. They’ve picked their life up and are off the streets now, working jobs and living in a cracker-box apartment, but they’re making it…and maybe it’s time to add a child to their lives? And the idea of adopting a kid as bad off as they were, once upon a time? It appeals to him. So he applies. Unbeknownst to him, his will change everything. Jai and Kallan will go from a happy honeymoon-phase couple to brand new parents of a rejected orphan… A child that steals their heart yet is troubled and it will be a long and bumpy road of childhood tantrums, crazy magic, and nights filled with trying to console the child’s nightmares and panicked past. Will this new challenge—this new love—bring Jai and Kallan together? Or will it be the end of them?
Meeting the child:
Her eyes were wide and luminous, almost glowing against the darkness of the bedroom. She was tiny and almost fragile, but Jai could feel energy rippling off the kit, warmth like fire beaming bright off her pelt, radiating. And her eyes were so sad… It made Jai’s heart ache. She reached out and snagged her love’s hand and Kallan squeezed back in a reassuring way.
So Jai knelt down to get on the little kit’s level and with a sweet smile on her face, she asked, “What’s your name sweetie?” To which the kit blinked those big eyes and in a soft, whispery voice replied, “Thirteen-nine-six-three,” as if repeating something from memory. “Reporting for duty.”
Jai’s ears flicked back, filled with uncertainty. “Can we call you Thirteen?” What sort of past had this poor little child dealt with? Duty? Who made a kit work—and above all else, who gave a kit a name filled with numbers? Anger simmered in her heart and she wanted nothing more than to cradle Thirteen to her chest and take her home, to safety, where she’d never have to be used again.
A crack of thunder split the air and everything went dead—dead and black, the heater whirring to a stop and the lights going dark and then they were trapped in the tiny little room. Jai’s heart was thundering as she frantically looked around for the kit, but she didn’t have to look far—because one minute it was dark and the next a warm blue glow filled the room, illuminating Thirteen’s face and throwing shadows across it…making her look…skeletal and terrifyingly beautiful. “Oh Kallan…” she breathed. There was definitely something off with the little girl, but even as Thirteen just stood there, hands outstretched as her palms glowed and buzzed with energy, she wore a tiny smile. Hopeful…her eyes were sad, but hopeful. “I want to take her home…” So badly, she wanted to raise this kit in their home, filled with laughter and peace and love. This girl needed love…even with her glowing blue quirks.
“You wanna come home with us, sweetie?” Kallan asked, offering a hand to Thirteen and for a moment, Thirteen just stared down at his open palm. Then her sweet smile turned bright and the glow went from an icy blue to a glowing, radiant purple and she placed her tiny hand in Kallan’s.
Kallan and Jai exchanged a look, and a smile. They would take Thirteen home and they would love her. No matter what.

Proof of Lifemating Here~
Giving the gift of....: Trickem and Kendall had a bit of a teensy quarrel over this! You see, Kendall thought it appropriate to bring a bag of candy since it is around Halloween and candy is a must for this holiday! Trick, however, thought that their present should be something more… thought out. In the end, the two came up with something (with the help of a magical friend of Trick’s) and have brought a shadow box Trick made and put one of his illusions into. His friend bound the illusion to the box, so it will always be there with Trick having to expend his energy keeping it up. The box shows the two males in a park, a small shadowy kit playing with them and smiling. Once the boys find a child, the shadow will change to look like the kit. And don’t think Kendall just gave up! There’s also a bag of all types of candy!
Child's Trouble/past : This little one has always been an orphan. Its mutation was apparent when it was a bowl, and the parents abandoned it on the orphanage’s door step. They were “important” people of society, you see, and having a mutated child would harm their reputations. So the child never knew its parents, only the system. It became a foster child, being sent from home to home. Some were nice, some were not. But one home in particular changed the child for the worse. The couple that were its foster parents this time were cruel, sadistic, manipulative people that hid their true colours to get the money from fostering so many children. In this home, it had four foster siblings. But that was bittersweet. They couldn’t talk, couldn’t play, and were only allowed to eat whenever their “parents” saw fit to feed them. One of the child’s “siblings” was a small, thin girl. She was such a sweet heart, and so kind, that when she told her sibling she was so hungry she could barely move, the kit took it upon itself to procure her some food. So it did, it gathered enough food for her and the others, taking only a few bites to sustain itself for a short while longer. But when the kits were nearly all done, they were discovered! Their parents were furious and demanded to know whom had stolen their food, and the kit was betrayed by one of kits who had only minutes before been chowing down on the food it had gotten for them. The child was beaten mercilessly, its “mother” wrapping duct tape around its mouth and binding its wrists together, before they threw the child into a small, dark closet. And there the child sat, alone and in the dark, screaming to no avail until its throat was raw and bloody and useless. Hours passed, and then days, and the child lost track of time. It took two months before the fostering system realized something was amiss with this family and came to the home. They found the other kits, all malnourished and weak, and almost left without the child locked in the closet had it not been for the sweet little girl telling them of the hero locked away. When they found it, the child was a mess. Its fur was shaggy and matted, its eyes had become so accustomed to the dark that all colour had washed from them, and it could not speak because of its broken vocal cords. The child was so weak from hunger that it couldn’t even smile in relief when it was rescued.
Future rp storyline : Trick will mother his new child to the best of his ability. From the first look at it, he will know that love and safety would do a world of wonder for it. He will teach the child things, and even help it cope with its strange type of sight. Being part zombie, Trick knows how it feels to be different and have people be afraid of him, and he will teach the child that just because he looks different doesn’t mean it should feel bad for it. He will teach it that its differences make it unique and strong and that means that only the strong will be able to love it the way it needs to be loved. Kendall will be the spoiling father, most likely. If mother says no, he’ll probably say yes with a “don’t tell your mother” behind it. This child will have a wonderful home with loving parents to help it get over any emotional and/or mental damage caused.
However! I would like for the child to have multiple, possible personality altering encounters with all sorts of different people outside of his family. I’d even like for him/her to keep in touch with the kids from the orphanage, too. I also think it would be awesome if someone liked my idea and got a girl that would end up being the sweetie pie s/he’d helped in that awful house. That would be adorable.
Meeting the child: PROMPT NUMBER THREE
They were finally here! They were here and Trickem was feeling as if he were about to hyperventilate. It was all Kendall could do to simply shake his head and chuckle softly. The half feline zombie was so excited that the entire walk there, he’d had to pause to pick up a body part that had spontaneously fallen off. He knew it had to still creep his mate out a little, but he just couldn’t help it! They were going to adopt a child today! He was so… so…. Oh! He just couldn’t think of a word that encompassed his true level of excitement.
“Calm down, Trick,” Kendall spoke softly to him, so as not to startle him. The last time he’d done that, the darker male had come completely apart. Literally.
With a blush on his cheeks that was mainly hidden by his dark fur, he turned a sheepish look to his mate. “I’m sorry, I just can’t help it!” And he really couldn’t. He was in such a tizzy that he was even creating small illusions--like cats and other animals that were running around, playing with the kids around them. So, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Counting to ten ever so slowly, he opened his eyes again in time to see his illusions fade, leaving the kids all slightly sullen at the loss of their elusive playmates. All expect one.
The child was sitting in the darkest shadows of the room, with its back turned to the light. His brows furrowed, and without a word, Trick moved forward. It took Kendall a moment to realize where he was going, but after that, he followed behind him. He’d told Trick that this was his decision to make. He trusted him to chose the child that was perfect for their slightly odd and crazy beginning of a family. And it looked as if Trick was taking that responsibility and smacking him in the face with it. Because the child that Trick lead him to was… most definitely odd. It had a physical mutation, and slightly creepy colourless eyes. But those eyes were sad and lonely. And as soon as he’d seen that look, he joined his mate with the kit.
“There, there, sweetie…” Trickem was cooing to the child, “You don’t have to be so sad.” He didn’t know how, but he knew his words touched a part of the small kit, and he saw a small curve of its lips. Looking up to Kendall, he held his hands out for the shadow box. “Look, we brought something. We’d like the child we’re going to bring home with us to have it. Would you like it?”
The child turned its colourless eyes to the box, watching the scene of the illusion play out a few times. The entire time, it had been silent. Still. But the sight of the trio playing and smiling and laughing. And the sight of the shadowy kit turning into itself almost brought tears to its eyes. Had it been able to speak, it would have screamed ‘yes’ to the ceiling. To the heavens. But it couldn’t. So instead, it turned to the both of them and simply nodded, easing the box out of its new mother’s hands to cling to it with glossy, water laden eyes.
“Don’t forget the candy,” Kendall smiled as he passed the bag to the child, watching as it tore into it with severe enthusiasm. With a laugh, the two stood up, and the child held onto its enchanted box and bag of treats, grabbing Kendall’s hand with its free one.
“Let’s go home,” Trickem purred, aglow with new love for the child they were leaving with.
“Slow down, now. We gotta fill out the other papers,” Kendall reminded him with a grin, which grew bigger as the child gave a silent giggle and his mate blushed again.

Giving the gift of....: An Hourglass - This is no ordinary hourglass though. It is crafted from some of the finest crystals Muro has ever shed, and the inside stays lit bright thanks to a few special ashes donated by Phoenix during one of her rebirths. On the outside you can find a feather or two tacked on for show.
Child's Trouble/past : The kit was perfect! Not a fur out of place, every marking was in just the right spot, one would say she was a gift from the gods. If it weren't for that horrid disgusting shadow that followed her around! It was deformed and horrid, the perfect outline of her own physique but with an extra head poking straight out of her back! And it even seemed to have a mind of its own, coming and going as it pleased, even playing and joking with the gorgeous young kit! Why, the horror of the shadow itself was just too much too bear and the poor thing was shoved off on the quickest home that could be found. Future rp storyline : The new family will be forever changing, forever adapting. Never quite sure of what to make of the new twists and turns life throws at them. Both parent's will have to learn how to become parents, how to take care of a life outside of their own. Most importantly how to take care of a life entirely different from their own. Muro himself is immortal, he will never know the touch of being mortal, and Pheonix, while not immortal, is not mortal either. She will die from one life, only to be reborn, in the same body, at the same age, but of an entirely different mindset and with no recollection of her past life. How will she remember her mate when the time comes to reincarnate? And most importantly, how will she remember the child, she chose to take under their wings?
From the kit's standpoint, he or she will have to learn what it will be like to have parents who are both very high strung, detached, and madly in love. Muro is a very high strung dragon, anything that is even the slightest bit off tends to bother him. He has even taken to trying to predict Phoenix's rebirths. He's also rather detached from the world around him, having lived for millions of years under the hands of time. Though with all this said, he has a soft spot for the ones he loves and I think his kit will know it.
The most interesting point of intersection between these three lives will be the point at which the kit realizes he or she will not live forever, where his or her parents will. How will that affect him or her? That AND seeing his Mother's first rebirth!
Meeting the child: Prompt 2
As the two stepped cautiously over the threshold, one could hear both their hearts beatings harder than even the heaviest of drum solos. One looked to the other, a look of confusion and uncertainty in his eyes, and gulped down a final feeling of fear before speaking up. "You're sure about this then?" He asked, his claws nervously fiddling with the ribbon on the orange and black wrapped gift the two had brought along. "Yes, I'm certain of it." Her eyes told of a certainty, he would never have and so he nodded with a faint smile and followed behind her into the room where their future awaited.
The attending house mother greeted them politely and whisked away with promises to return with their child. All the while Muro's heart continued to beat, he knew she could hear it, as he could hear her's. He was certain she would combust at any moment, he debated ripping the gift from its packaging and stopping time to prevent that from happening. But then the door slowly creaked open and slowly a kit emerged ... she was so small ... frail almost.
He could hear Phoenix gasp from across the room and her heart rate calmed. In the blink of an eye she was across the room and cooing at the young thing's side. Muro slowly followed in her footsteps, unsure of exactly what this process should entail. He had previously decided he was following Phoe's lead, maternal instinct and all that .. right? Millions of years told him he had better be right. As he got closer, he could hear Phoe cooing to the young kit, and he tried to smile, though when the kit recoiled he knew his smiled needed a ton of work.
"Since its Halloween, we thought you would like to trick or treat! How does that sound!"
Ah - the ice breaker, always a decent option, Muro agreed as he watched Phoe interact with the young kit. The young kit smiled, a devilish smiled and turned to face the shadow behind it, something Muro had not noticed before. And again, in the blink of the eye, the kit had darted under him and snatched the gift from him and clutched it within her own paws.
"WE CHOOSE TRICK!" She delighted happily, delighted with herself as she clutched her new found booty. Before quickly turning back to the shadow and giggling more and more, "Hehe, we're just kidding, we choose treat! We wanted to trick you into thinking we wanted trick, when we really wanted a treat!"
Muro smirked a bit to himself before giving Phoe a bit of a wink. He had to admit, this kid had some wits to her. He liked that, "Well you heard the girl, lets give her the treat then!"
