It is amazing how many people seem to have this basic RP terminology confused.
To this end, we have decided to post what is actually meant when we are talking about being ‘literate’. This definition of sorts if from my own experience as an English teacher and what is required as ‘literacy’ in major test of the English language (e.g. SAT, TOEFL, etc.)
For example, TOEFL, a major test for people wanting to gain entrance into universities which give courses in English tells us, with scores running from 0 (lowest) to 6 (highest). We will be following this in The Wall, as this test is iBT, that is the essays are typed just like our guild posts.

As you can see, not only do we require grammar and vocabulary skills but also the ability to organise, keep to the topic in question and follow a flow of logic. All of this is necessary to become ‘literate’, i.e. to make sure that your readers can easily understand and follow the ideas that you wish to put forth. This is what we here mean when we are talking about ‘literacy’.
As you can probably tell, this does not mean that you are capable of spewing walls of text that add up to saying nothing, or, even worse, give the person reading a headache trying to figure out what on Earth you are talking about. It is not only amount that counts, but also content. After all, what sense is there in writing 2000 words if no one can understand, or enjoy it?
Also, if a post does not follow the line of the RP, is completely random, off-topic, and makes no sense logically given the background of the thread, then this, again, makes it very difficult for those you are RP-ing with to understand and makes it very difficult to reply if it does not altogether kill the thread off.
As such these all all points to remember and keep in mind when you are posting.

Tips:
1. Read and re-read as you're reading someone else's work.
2. Use your spell-checker
3. Think about how you would respond to a situation and if your character's response makes sense in context of the RP.
4. Use clearly defined paragraphs, don't jumble up your words in one messy slab.
5. Follow a clear logic, for example, chronological order.
6. Think about cause and effect.
7.Keep to reality as much as possible, even in an anime setting.
