Honestly how bad, terrible, horrific, appalling were you when you first started to roleplay?
I hate to admit how bad I was I started when I was 13 or 14. I could write back then I can now as well but me and all my first we just....oh my god....the horror....
It's honestly appalling to me how bad i was...

The spelling mistakes, the grammar mistakes, the everything....and it's a one liner.

Yup, I hear ya. I started around 13 years old too. One liners, lack of details ..Ah the horror. sweatdrop

I was really really terrible when I first started and I used a script formatting.
so instead of posting a nice big paragraph, I wrote 2 or 3 line sentences with this format.
Example:

I was also pretty bad with grammar as well.

When I first started, I still didnt really know what roleplay was. My character's name was Sakura (which my gaia name when i started was sakura-schan), and I always thought that when I log into gaia, I log into my character.
So I was always going through forums saying "And Sakura entered this forum and noticed other ppl blah blah blah" And when I was tired of that forum, I would say, "Sakura grew tired of the forum and decided to go play pinball" lolol
Then when I realized that just logging into gaia was not really roleplay, I started the real roleplay as if it were a soap opera. My character was always on the verge of death and everything allllll the time so that someone could save here hahaha

I can say this. Luckily, when I started role playing I began in chatrooms so there is no record of my first 4 or 5 years of rping. By the time I arrived here, I wasn't too bad. But I found a story I wrote in 4th grade so I know the pain. It's sad =/

It was horrid. I had no vocabulary and my one liners missed every factor that showed the scenery. Describing was something I never did and then my friend taught me that there is more then just stating real quick on what I am doing to making it a paragraph.

My son Calix is just about 10 weeks old, it's good to know I'm not the only proud momma lol. Thank you. My Calix has a lot of hair. Mine was born with it and now lost about half due to cradle cap. Your little one is so adorable. I think it is nice meeting other proud moms like myself.

oh gosh I was really bad....I have dyslexia so I cant spell well and my teacher in elementary didn't teach us much grammar (she was fired that year because she was such a bad teacher) so when I started role playing it was a train wreck 0.0...ive come along way since then but thanks to me finnaly getting some what of a life my rping has gotten worse : ( hatefully English classes messing with my imagination!
not too mention I started at like 12.
I always named my character Maximum because I loved the maximum rise books. then someone told me it HAD too be Japanese so I decided too call her kairi after kairi from kingdom hearts.
also when ever I had too get offline I would make my character pass out for noo good reason. so they could be in the middle of a big fight and all of a sudden
-Kairi fainted-
looking back its almost like she was a Pokémon lol XD
