Coast City Incursion Zone: Dropaway Beach Ground Zero for the Atlantean Invasion; Coast City's famous surf spot Dropaway Beach has become a Warzone. Green Lantern Ian Wickes and The Blue Beetle have formed a reluctant alliance in order to try and fend off the encroaching hoard. Martian Manhunter is also on the scene.
Objectives Heroes: Hold out for 100 posts or until Villains retreat. Villains: Defeat ALL of the Heroes before the post count reaches 100.
Extras
- Blue Beetle and Green Lantern must be conflicted about working with one another and try and resist killing each other. However, the presence of another Scarab the Black Beetle's is making this rather difficult.
- The Atlantean Main Force has arrived at Dropaway Beach there are 500 foot soldiers that the villains can control as if they were minions.
- Heroes can defeat 20 minions per post if uninterrupted.
- Nathaniel Grant may appear in this Incursion Zone.
- Villain Hint: Martian Manhunter is easy to deal with if you know his weakness IC. Metaplaying will not be tolerated, your character must have some sort of access or plausible reason to know this information.
- Once all minions are gone, the Villains of Dropaway Beach are on their own.

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright Evie Sinclair Fierce as a lion....Arturia rode into the area on her cherry bay Percheron stallion, Crimson Crusader. An inferno raged in her eyes, her body straight and rigid as she scanned the horizon. No sign of the enemy yet, but they would arrive soon enough. She needed to be ready for them, which meant that she needed backup. There was only one person that she knew how to contact, so she hoped that he would hear her message and get others to come and help. She began to focus on projecting her thoughts, making them as loud as she could. Abdi? Abdi, can you hear me? It's Arturia. Well, you probably know me better as Evie, but still, I need your help. I think Nathaniel Grant is going to land here, at Dropaway Beach, in Coast City. It's the most logical place for him to go. There will almost certainly be Atlantean soldiers here as well, not to mention whatever allies he brings. I'm already here, but I need help, I need allies, I can't fight them all alone. Please, I need you to get here as soon as possible.....and free as the wind. Out of Cake:

ABDI'KARIM GHEDI Martian Manhunter "I'm not my predecessor..."
Abdi heard the message, loud and clear. "I'll be there shortly," he said, a curt reply followed by the enormous Martian jettisoning off towards the girl. It took a minute or two to get there, which he spent gathering his thoughts and forming a battle plan. Fire would harm him. Thankfully, nobody would really know that, but he still had to be prepared. The large Martian, still intangible and invisible, made a quick stop at a local Fireman's Station, grabbing a flame retardant blanket and draping it tightly over his enormous frame. It would do very little against a real, determined, or even skilled flame or fire-user, but it couldn't hurt. As Abdi made his way to his friend's location, he ran through various scenarios in his head, none of them too optimistic. Their chances simply weren't that great. When Abdi arrived, he changed his form, creating a hardened axe in one arm, the other forming a large gauntlet, his fingers hardening and becoming spiked. He was literally changing the molecules in his own arms, making them ridiculously hardened, able to withstand even direct fire. He'd be a bit slower with these enormous arms weighing him down, but even at a decreased speed, Abdi was sure to be capable of taking out some common foot-soldiers. Walking up to Evie as he coated his entire upper body, his green skin becoming grey and taking on an almost shiny appearance, he waved to the girl. "I'm here. Could you please stay far behind and offer long-ranged support with your bow? If need be, I'll get behind you in case of a large fire-based attack, but other than that, I think it is pick off soldiers until we see anyone important. The sooner we eliminate or fend off leaders, the sooner we can get rid of the pesky soldiers. Now would be a good time to get a hold of Jonathan or Prince Damian, I think."
"If you get in my way, I'll simply kill you."

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright Evie Sinclair Fierce as a lion....Arturia was a bit unnerved by his change in skin color, not to mention the limb modification. She would probably never feel fully comfortable around Abdi, but she would manage. Upon hearing his words, she raised an eyebrow and frowned, Crimson stomping his hoof and shaking his head. But when she heard "pick off soldiers", her eyes began to burn with anger. "First, Abdi, I am a knight. I specialize in melee combat. I will not stand behind and fight like a coward. Second, I will not be picking anybody off. Even if I did have my bow with me, I would not use it to kill people who are only following orders." she growled. The odd thing was that it actually sounded exactly like a dragon's growl. "As for Jonathan... He left for Metropolis a little while ago, to make sure that his friend was alright."....and free as the wind. Out of Cake:

ABDI'KARIM GHEDI Martian Manhunter "I'm not my predecessor..."
Abdi scowled slightly, just a little annoyed at the girl. It wasn't anger or anything, mind you, just mild annoyance. Now was definitely not a good idea to not listen. "You're not realizing a few key points here. You have long-range capabilities; I don't. You are flame-proof; I'm not. This is about defending the city, your talk about cowardice is a tad bit irrelevant. I think that arguing isn't in Coast City's best interests, Evie." Abdi turned from her, his eyes cold. He faced the beach, waiting for the onslaught that would no doubt come.
"If you get in my way, I'll simply kill you."

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright Evie Sinclair Fierce as a lion....It took everything Arturia had to not lose her temper right then and there. She hadn't missed those points, not at all. But it seemed like Abdi had missed something. "Did you not hear me when I said that I do not have my bow? I cannot summon it as I do my armor or Excalibur. At the moment, I do not have long-range capabilities." she replied, her voice icy. Even if she could summon her bow, she wouldn't. She wouldn't dare. It was all too easy to kill a man from afar. From a distance, they didn't seem like unique individuals, with personality or feelings. They were not people. They were just another part of the enemy army. All she had to do was aim and shoot. Yes, she saw them fall to the ground, but that was it. She didn't have to hear them crying and calling out for their families, or their shuddering last breath. She didn't have to see their horrified and terror-filled expressions as understanding set in, or the light leaving their eyes. She didn't have to watch them die. It was just far too easy to become desensitized to killing when she didn't have to witness such a heart-wrenching reality.... ....and free as the wind. Out of Cake:

Allies: Not sure yet. Enemies: Not sure yet. Saving: The World
Every fibre in his body willed Ian towards Coast City, he looked like a green streak in the sky as he zoomed past windows, past helicopters, past clouds and eventually travelled the usually 5+ hour trip via plane in what seemed to be a matter of moments. Once he crossed the state boundary though and made his way into the perimeters of Coast City; Ian couldn't help but slow down and marvel at the City without Fear and their preparations. For Coast saw imminent doom a little differently than the other major cities of Earth, it made one proud to be from there but also questioned the social implications behind the fact that despite having their city blown off the face of the Earth, then having it randomly reappear from nowhere thanks to Hal Jordan and then after that it becoming the a target for a yellow clad fear wielding alien Invasion; no one wanted to leave. Everyone just battened down the hatches and waited for it to blow over, they had faith... Hope even that the Green Lantern, their hometown boy, was going to save them.
Then there was what people had grown to call "The Green Light Phenomena" Ian didn't see many as he made his way in from the outskirts but as he made his way into the residential areas and the central areas of the City, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at the large amount of Green Lights people were shining out their windows in order to offer him support. They didn't know he wasn't Hal Jordan probably but they still continued on the tradition. They still let Ian know they were proud of him... It made his blood boil even more as he zoomed over to Dropaway Beach, prepared himself and landed harsh on the ground kicking up sand and dust as he crouched on one knee and pushed himself up with one hand.
Not much seemed to be happening yet, he just simply saw two people on the beach whom had obviously had the same idea as him and raising an eyebrow as he got closer, he questioned whether or not it really could have been Abdi. Unfortunately, it was and Ian's heart sank for a moment as he realized that if things were about to get ugly, the person he was going to have to trust to look after him was the very same Martian who said that he was expendable. Gah, fuuuuuuuck man...
However, Ian's doubts and misgivings didn't seem to affect him as he walked over towards the two other heroes being wary to keep his mind closed to the Martian Manhunter as he did so. When he heard the two of them having a slight argument, Ian couldn't help but get andgry and grit his teeth. They had to pull themselves together, this wasn't a matter the three of them, if it was going to be just the three of them could sit around on their arses for, this was his home and it needed defending and it was going to be defended by the best of their ability like it or not. "When you two are quite done," Ian growled rather uncharacteristically "Circumstances require our full attention." O.O.C ~

ABDI'KARIM GHEDI Martian Manhunter "I'm not my predecessor..."
This time Abdi's face was set, anger easily apparent on his face. "You leave me little choice then, human. I ask you make sure no harm comes to me for a few minutes, while I prepare. Above all, once I awake from the nearly-catatonic state I'm about to put myself in, make sure you're on the other side of the battlefield, or as far away as you can get. I'm sure you've seen battle, but this may get quite a bit more gruesome." He turned his back to her, his axe-like arm shifting back to a hand, albeit with the edges sharpened, making his arm like one giants spear. The edges were razor-sharp, and glinted softly in the light. Abdi's skin began to turn almost black, becoming extremely reflective. He was hardening his skin past what it usually went to, making it harder than it had ever been before. He would be sacrificing a lot of speed and agility for it, but his defenses were at an all time high. A low rumbling could be heard, like the stomach of some great beast. The large Martian looked on to the edge of the beach, then past it, to as far as the eye could see. A blob of gold and purple, long and slender, began to show itself, surfacing from the water's edge. Atlanteans. Hundreds of them, armed with their weapons. There was no cavalry, no artillery, and no super-villains present at the beach. There didn't have to be. By sheer force of numbers, and by their superhuman abilities, an Atlantean would be more than a match for almost any human. Of course, Abdi wasn't any human. He was a Martian, and more so, he was a battle-hardened Martian with hundreds of years of expertise in how to kill people. Abdi sat down, pulling up both arms over his head and stretching. He would need to be ready for what was next. Deep down, he reached, so far down that he began to wonder if his little 'resident' was still inside of him. Ah, there he was. Deep inside his subconscious, right where Abdi locked him and never let him out. He began to whisper to the thing, asking for a little help. The being smiled, knowing full well what kind of deep trouble Abdi was in. It had been watching, observing Abdi the last century or so as the normally stoic Martian tried to reclaim his life after an existence of slaughter. The being wanted out. Abdi was offering it a little room to stretch its legs. Of course, Abdi would try to restrain it once it was done rampaging, but it would deal with that when it came. The being, this 'it' was none other than O'jore. Abdi's split personality. The hunter in him. The madman. And Abdi was willing to pull it back to the outside world if it meant the salvation of his city. He simply hoped that he could shove it back into the back of his mind, where it belonged.
"Oh, and one more thing, human. If I still possess a bloodthirsty nature after this battle is finished, do your best to kill or incapacitate me. You won't have much else in the way of options."
"If you get in my way, I'll simply kill you." Periwinkle_the_Eevee_2 I'm useless for two posts, but I'll be even more powerful afterwards. Make sure nothing kills me in the meantime, please. Uchiha Roxas Time for O'jore to come out and play biggrin

"Goodbye freak-shows, hello tan!" Mira shouted happily, as she stepped out from a completely empty changing room. It didn't matter for Mira if there were other girls looking her over or not, Mira would have likely been doing the same. With a big grin spread across her face, Mira happily made her way down the beach, ignoring all the commotion, as if she was in her own little world. With a beach chair in hand, Mira spread it open and let herself lounge back in it. Her bikini top was black, along with her bottoms, but on her rear, there was a certain mark, something that looked like a beetle at first glance. Now seated down, Mira made a small huffing noise, as she turned to look around. Seeing the three people, Mira called out to one of them. "Hey glowstick, you think you could get over here and put on some sun screen?"
She baited him, she wanted to test this man, the new Green Lantern, regardless of the fact that she would likely be fighting him in a moments time. Regardless of him reacting or not, Mira let no window open up for him to even respond as she stood up. "It's rude to ignore a lady you know, sparkie." Mira brushed a long lock of hair from her face, watching the man closely. Her eyes were locked onto him, and in that moment it felt as if those two were the only ones there. A second later, the two-piece Mira wore slowly began to expand along her body, wrapping itself around her as the smirk she wore would be visible from space. "I doubt you're that much of a wuss as Bumblebee makes you out to be, Glowstick, so let's see how you fair..." she muttered, as the suit finished wrapping itself around her body, the visor slowly folding over her face as she slammed a fist into an open hand, waiting to see the reaction she would get out of the Green Lantern.

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright Evie Sinclair Fierce as a lion....Arturia visibly flinched at seeing the anger in Abdi's expression, alarm flashing in her eyes. When people were angry with her, her first instinct was to run and hide until things blew over, mainly to protect herself. In the past, when people were angry with her, she usually got beaten or ended up emotionally scarred, so the urge to run was deeply ingrained into her. It didn't help that this other young man (who she assumed was the Green Lantern) appeared to be angry as well. Still, the British heroine had to hold herself together. Now was not the time for an emotional breakdown; after all, people were counting on her to help defend this city, her new home. "I apologize.... You are the new Green Lantern, correct?" she asked, her accented voice starting to return to its usual calm tone. Once she had gotten confirmation of that, she would smile and introduce herself as well. "It is a pleasure to meet you, though I wish we could have met under better circumstances. I am Queen Arturia." Her eyes darted to Abdi for a moment, giving him a small nod as she had Crimson Crusader move between the Martian and the water. That way, any enemies that came early would have to go through her first. Her emerald gaze was soon drawn over to the other girl, who seemed to be taunting the Lantern. Why she would do that, Arturia didn't know. It seemed pretty foolish, in her opinion. But the girl clearly had some form of (bio suit? That sounded right in her head). Perhaps she could help them fight. ....and free as the wind. Out of Cake:

Allies: Martian Manhunter and Queen Arturia Enemies: Bikini Beetle and Atlanteans? Saving: The World.
Ian was still slightly annoyed with the fact that the Martian Manhunter, whom he already wasn't on the best of terms with, and the young female knight appeared to be arguing between one and other whilst his city was in danger. Rather uncharacteristically, he replied to the young knight quite curtly almost spitting out the words as he pointed towards the Green Lantern Corps Logo on his chest. "Yeah, Green Lantern of Sector 2814, at your service." Whatever had hold over Ian as he spoke made him feel uneasy, he sounded almost aggressive, a state which didn't really suit him but he couldn't help it. His ring seemed to vibrate on his finger and the very blood in his veins seemed as though it might be boiling from the inside out. Adrenaline? It could have been that, after all, his home city was about to be attacked by an Army of Fishmen and a bunch of maniacs. It would be hard for one to keep their composure but something about this certain adrenaline rush seemed a little too... focused. It was sudden. And it tugged on Ian, almost turning his attention to something.
Ian then spotted her...
Watching her as she emerged from the changing room and made herself comfortable on the desolate beach, Ian knew there was something up. How? Because after someone says they're going to take over the world over every means of communication known to man, no one's first thoughts are a trip to the beach. He watched her as she spoke, scowled as she referred to him, he didn't know why but something about her just seemed to make him feel uneasy but his heart pumped on double time, his ring seemed to spark in excitement or fear as she continued to talk and all Ian wanted to do was let loose. He felt like he could take on the world whilst this girl was around. Whatever she was, Ian didn't like it.
The the suit enveloped her.
It then suddenly all made sense. She was a Reach Scarab host. A dangerous weapon, one even the Green Lantern Ring saw as a threat and was known to bring about great amounts of varying effects in its wearers when in the vicinity of one. It was somewhat like when the police and a known criminal crossed paths, tensions ramped up and things often got messy. This encounter was probably set to be no exception.
Looking towards the young knight and then towards Abdi, Ian signalled for them to stand back and then pointed his ring towards the now suited and booted girl. "You are in violation of Guardian Law, stand down and maybe I'll let you go because you look good in a bikini. Fight and I might have to make an example of you." This Ian on the beach seemed to be taking no prisoners, seemed different and grinning to himself prepared for the inevitable confrontation that often followed Green Lanterns and Scarab Hosts...

Nathaniel Grant "In Blackest day. In Brightest night! Beware your fears made into light. Let those who try to stop what's right -- burn like his power -- Sinestro's might!"
Allegiance: Sinestro Corps Status: Healthy Thoughts: The invasion starts now."Like you tried to make an example out of me?" said the one person Ian likely was wanting to see so he could kill. Nathaniel Grant floated above both him and his allies, and his own ally, the Black Beetle. Behind him rose the mighty army of Atlantis, all heavily armored and armed soldiers ready to do battle, "I hope you don't mind that I crash this little interrogation, Green Candle. But a battlefield is no place for police procedure."
He wasn't disappointed that the Green Lantern showed up. In fact, he was excited to see what the boy was truly made of. To say he had a poor showing back at the slums of Metropolis was an understatement. The last few moments of their battle was the only reason Nathaniel even bothered to not kill the Lantern right then and there. A chance to break down the Green Lantern at his strongest was too tempting to pass up.
"I'm sure my friend here is itching to fight. If so," Nathaniel then motioned towards Ian, "He's all yours."
He then looked at the allies Ian had with him. A woman in knightly armor and what looked like a Martian. With a smirk, he looked behind him and then back at them, "Don't think I left you two out," he said, turning around to the army behind him, "Soldiers of Atlantis! Remember what you fight for! The world of Man cannot be allowed to do what they please! For the sake of your freedom, I order you to fight for your country! Charge!!!!!"
With a point at Arturia and Abdi, he commanded the army to charge forward. And that is exactly what they did. Spears pointed forward and shields up like in a phalanx, they advanced forward while he ascended high to observe the battle unfolding.
"To all units, the invasion is a go. I repeat, the invasion is a go," he said before he put down his ring, muttering, "Commence the Reign of Fear."

~Akato~Sakikin~ I am power, I am Darkness... To see me is to die, to survive is the distant light of hope.... I will have what I want and Hellfire shall follow Status: Healthy Mood: Eager Thoughts: FINALLY! Battle Commence OOC: Akato stood silently behind Nathaniel, his Oni mask revealing nothing of his face or emotions. The Demon merely rested his palms on the hilts of the sheathed wazikashi on his hips and watched the interaction of the Lanterns.
Shifting his gaze to the Green Lantern's Allies, he spotted a young woman wearing fancy armor. The wind shifted and Arturia's scent wafted towards Akato, who caught it and took a deep breath. He was sure he smelled virgin in her scent, and knew he wanted her for his own blades. He waited until the Yellow Lantern finished his speech to the Atlantean troops. Akato jumped and raced ahead of the troops, short, curved and wickedly sharp blades out to his sides.
"The woman is mine! Leave her to me!" Akato's voice carried razors with those words, causing the Atlanteans following towards Arturia to fall back and change course. There was still a good distance between him and her, but the Demon was closing quickly and would be on Arturia within seconds.

Darres was glad that meeting was over, he knew war meetings were important but Zeus knows he hates them. After leaving Atlantis, he'd followed Captain Grant to Coastal City and got to hear his nice little speech. Now with the army at their back it seemed the sides were even Grant vs glow stick and the demon vs the knight. Unfortunately that left sleeping beauty to Darres, but how to wake him up? Grenade? No to fast, which also took out bazooka. He could go old school and use a sword but the knight would be more fun against a sword. And the Atlanteans made Greek fire out because they needed the water. Damn why'd this guy have to sleep on a battlefield? Pulling out a pocket knife as he walked towards the large black guy the knife would turn into a claymore more and more with each step.

gaia_angelleft ~ Queen Arturia ~ gaia_angelright Evie Sinclair Fierce as a lion....What happened next went by too quickly for Arturia to fully understand. She was pretty sure that she got the main points, though. The girl with the bio suit was a villain, Nathaniel Grant had shown up, just as she had predicted, and he had brought a few allies and approximately five hundred Atlantean soldiers. She also sensed a demonic presence, so she immediately activated the blessing placed on Excalibur by Loucetios, the Celtic god of light, which made the legendary blade glow with a holy light. This was her "Divine Light" ability. Whatever demon was here would easily be able to sense the energy emanating from her sword, and would know that if they were to approach her, they would have to do so with extreme caution. At the same time, the young British knight began to channel her aura energy into the sword, which amplified it and sent it back. She continued to do this for a few minutes as the Yellow Lantern gave his little speech, and because Divine Light was active, it infused her aura energy with holy energy as well. For the first time, Arturia was combining two attacks into one: her Aura Strike and Divine Light to create a Divine Aura Strike. Or, for her current purposes, a Divine Aura Blast. As she was building the strength her attack, she heard Nathaniel order the charge and watched as the Atlanteans formed into a large phalanx and began their advance. An odd male jumped in front of them, though, and instantly dashed straight for her. This was the demon, she could tell. He would be upon her in mere seconds. She was just about to release her attack when her dear steed, Crimson Crusader, suddenly whinnied and brought another male to her attention. According to Crimson, he was emanating some sort of divine power, which meant that he was either a god or a demigod. Either way, it wasn't good. He was approaching slowly, but not towards her. It appeared that he was going for the Martian Manhunter. Of course, he would have to get through her, first. Arturia quickly glanced up to the skies and cried, "Athena, give me strength!", before releasing all of the holy aura energy in one powerful blast, aiming it in front of her. It would likely knock the closest Atlanteans flat on their backs, and the holy portion would hopefully hurt the demon. ....and free as the wind. Out of Cake:
