Anastasia was born on October 7th, her mother a wealthy member of nobility, and her father a merchant. Anastasia was left eye was blind since she was born. Since she was a child she had to cover her left eye with hair, as she grew older she used an eye patch even though it was unbecoming of a lady. Anastasia never knew the suffering of those from the outer walls. She's never had to work a day in her life, however she devoted herself to the arts and studying. She was an intelligent child, one who could understand and learn anything by being told only once.

However due to studying all the time, she lacked the capability to communicate properly towards others. She had a hard time speaking to others beside her brother. She found nothing interesting to hold her to her home in the Utopia District. She lived a sheltered life, and had only known about the titans from books, and from what she hears from the men of court. There were actual people training and fighting against these beasts. They were sacrificing their lives to protect those important to them. Anastasia, wanting to break free from the chains that held her down in a monochrome world, joined the military, against her parents wishes. She managed to receive blessings from her older brother. As much as it pained her, knowing she might never see them again, but she wanted to expand her own world, she wanted to give her monochrome world some color. Even if it had to be the color of her own blood.

She honestly didn't know what she was getting herself into. She suspected she would be looked down upon for being small, weak, and ignorant. But that was why she was there, to grow as a person, as a human and live for something.
