Kali Zane ~ Ember Determination that is incorruptible From the other side a terror to behold Annihilation will be unavoidable Kali sat in a red, cushioned chair, across from the big oak desk. Her Long, red hair flowed, freely, down her back. Her emerald eyes wandered, impatiently as she waited for the "great Professor" to arrive. She played with the edge of her gray, long sleeve shirt and studied the lines on her jeans. The clothes were foreign to her, but comfortable.
She remembered exactly how she got to this room. Her upper left arm and left side were wrapped with clean bandages. That was her fault. Or was it?
It was her last mission and she was trying to escape. From what she could see, she was successful, although she wasn't sure how much freedom she really had. Not after what she pulled. Fighting the X-Men, probably wasn't the greatest idea known to mankind, but they weren't part of the plan. She didn't even know that they knew she existed, much less where to find her. She assumed that someone gave them a 'heads up' and they were told to bring down this Meta.
But why didn't they? Sure, Wolverine fought her, and stabbed her in the side. But he didn't kill her. She was very much alive and their professor...What did he want with her? Surely, he knew what all she had done.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the old, oak doors opening, behind her. The old man wheeled himself in, and she didn't even turn around to look at him. She knew who he was. He took his place, across from her, with the desk between them. He smiled a welcoming smile and all she wanted to do was punch him.
The doors closed and they got down to business. He gave her a choice between staying as a student and trying to improve her life or staying as a prisoner until they could decide on what they would do with her. There seemed to be only one logical choice, either way, she felt she would have no freedom.
"I'll stay," Kali said. "I'll go to your little school. I didn't figure out what I would do after I escaped, so I assume that school would be a good start, for now."

Cheng "Han" Yakhimorro ~ Soul Han wandered down the halls, he knew the way to Xavier's office, but he was told to take his time. That only meant that Xavier was meeting with someone else. Han smiled at the thought of being one of the first people to meet a new student. He was very 'people friendly' especially when it came to the new girls.
He wouldn't label himself as a heartbreaker but he had a certain charm that most new girls fell for.
Han stopped in front of the wooden, double doors and listened for a moment. There was some, small chatter, but it didn't really seem important. The doors swung open and he starred blankly, for a moment. That trick always caught him off guard.
His eyes wandered to the brilliant head of long, red hair. The girl didn't even turn around, which he thought was odd. He noticed that she was sitting tall, and even from a distance, he could feel the 'no bull' attitude, in the air.
He hesitated, for the first time in a very long time. "You wanted to see me?"
Professor Xavier, nodded and explained that he wanted Han to show Kali around the school and get her a bite to eat. Han studied the girl, then accepted the challenge.
"Ready, when you are, Kali," he said as Xavier handed her the pile of papers and brochures that concluded the welcoming of new students.

Kali Zane ~ Ember Determination that is incorruptible From the other side a terror to behold Annihilation will be unavoidable Kali stared at Xavier as Han walked in, behind her. She listened to his footsteps and deemed them harmless. It wasn't until he stopped beside her that she glanced at him. Her emerald eyes studied his eyes, his face, his stance.
Data that she had read before, flooded her mind. Yakhimorro, Cheng Han. Power...not destructive but used for stealth...knows something about martial arts. Has connections to a large mafia....powers are relatively new. Parents, dead....sister...alive but sick.
Kali blinked away the images of the files she had read on him. He wasn't seen as a threat but she knew how to take him out. Just like she did with most of the mutants here. Logan was the only exception.
She turned her attention to the stack of pamphlets and papers that Xavier handed her. "Save your brochures for someone who would appreciate them, I only need your student handbook and that sheet of paper with my schedule and room number."
Xavier looked shocked but nodded and removed the brochures and pieces of paper. "I can have this taken to your room," he offered.
Kali nodded. "Room 226," she said matter-of-factly. Her photographic memory came in handy sometimes. Despite what people thought, it was a learned ability, not something that she was born with.
Her attention turned to Han, who said that he was ready, whenever she was. "There's no better time than now," she said and threw a look of disdain at Xavier before standing up to leave.

Cheng "Han" Yakhimorro ~ Soul Han's eyebrows raised when Kali spoke to the professor with almost a commanding tone. He took back his pamphlets and didn't look to happy about it. Still, Xavier said nothing on the matter and was nice enough to offer to have the materials taken to Kali's room.
Han noticed that her room number was across the hall from his room. He sighed, for once, not sure that he actually wanted to be around this girl. Usually, he was a magnet, but he guessed that she didn't really want to be around him either.
He watched her study him for a moment and it appeared that she recognized him or came to some conclusion about him.
Han smiled, when Kali indicated that she was ready to leave. He caught the look that she gave Xavier and wasn't sure what to make of it. It almost looked as if she hated him. Not many people did, but he was sure that she had her reasons, although she didn't seem to be much of a people person.
He led her to the large doors and opened one for her... ((Exit Kitchen ))

Scott sat in Xavier's office while the professor broke the news to him about the girl who they were sent to retrieve, who just so happened to toss a knife in his left arm. He touched the bandages when Xavier mentioned her, but there was no real damage. He could understand why she attacked. She was obviously running from something, or someone and may have thought that they were trying to harm her.
Xavier didn't mention what she was or why she was in Syria. Scott had learned not to ask, knowing that mutants came from all over the globe, and sometimes the universe.
"I think that you will be happy to know that we got to the bottom of her identity," Xavier said with half a smile. He didn't like to reach into the girl's mind, and she hated him for it but at least they had a name. "Her name is, Kali Zane."
You could hear a pin drop in the office as Scott struggled to find his breath. "You said, Zane," he asked, his eyebrows raised. Memories of an old friend and a small girl flooded his mind.
"It is familiar," Xavier asked.
"I had a friend," Scott said with a long pause, surprised that Xavier didn't seem to remember their long conversations about bringing a baby to the mansion. "Where is she?"
Xavier glanced at the clock, on the wall, behind Scott. "I imagine that she is wandering. Han should be done with their tour by now."
"So...she chose to stay," Scott asked and before Xavier could answer, he was out of his chair and on his way out the door. He couldn't believe that they may have found his dear friend's daughter. It was frightening because they had discussions of what she was. After he died, she fell off the radar. He could only guess what she was doing in Syria.((Exit into the hallway))

"Professor." Ororo announced as she entered the room, "We seem to have another new student today... or at least a visitor. A girl showed up at our doorstep, knowing what we were a school for... she has the same mutant abilities as Magneto." she said with a disquieting expression.
"I thought I had sensed a new mind in our school." Charles smiled warmly at his X-Man, "I hope you are not judging her solely on her abilities. Magneto does not have a monopoly on magnetism. She deserves the same chance as the other young mutants here."
"...I am more unnerved by the fact that she arrived unannounced and unknown, and destroyed our turrets." Ororo looked unmoved, though hesitated a moment later, "However... Jean did seem to scan her mind and decide she was safe. I am not yet sure what she discovered, but she is giving the girl a tour of the school as we speak."
"I trust in Jean's judgement, as should you." Charles replied simply, "The girl is welcome here, just as is any mutant we go out and recruit ourselves. Now if you will excuse me..." he mentally reached out to Jean, 'Jean, Ororo tells me you are with a young woman who arrived here. Would you mind informing her for me that she is welcome to join our school, as well as that I would like to meet her? I would appreciate it.'

The intruder security at the front had been damaged, and was temporarily not working. However, there was still enough sensing technology and cameras to send a silent alert to Xavier's office when intruders arrived on the grounds. Such an alarm went off just as the Professor was contacting Jean.
Ororo looked to Xavier's desk, seeing a young man walking up the grounds on camera, "...you must be kidding me." she murmured in disbelief. Had the Xavier Institute become public knowledge without her knowing?
"Ororo?" Charles smiled, not looking at all concerned, "If you would please welcome our third new student for the day?"
"...yes Professor." Ororo frowned, flying out the window to return to the courtyard.

"Professor, I have returned." Ororo announced as she entered the office, stepping aside so Corwin could also enter, "With, it appears, another intruder."
"Another potential student." Xavier corrected with a smile, "Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, Mr. Easton. Ororo tells me you are a mutant who came seeking our school." Ororo had not had a chance to speak to Xavier privately since she met Corwin, though did not seem surprised that the man already had this information. Rather, she gave Xavier a questioning look; he returned the look with a calm expression, reassuring her that Corwin was not dangerous.

Corwin glanced around the room as he entered. The office was ornamented with bookcases up to the ceiling. The wall was equally adorned with all sorts of plaques and the like. Corwin smirked at Ororo's tone. She totally digs me. He thought. Cory listened attentively to the Professor as to make a good impression. He also felt like Xavier was someone he should definitely listen to and take notes from if he wanted to go anywhere worth going in this world.
"Yessir. Ummm, you can call me Cory... sir. Ha, I was hoping I could live here with you guys. With the rising anti-mutant groups, it's no longer safe for me on the streets. I heard talk of a group of mutants living with each other and as far as I'm concerned that's the closest thing I have to a family now. Other mutants."
Corwin's smile faded and left his face blank of emotion. Everything was different after he died. He was still slowly adjusting. Some days were better than others. It seemed that this school was going to be a silver lining for this whole mutant thing.

"Any mutant in search of a place to belong is welcome here." Xavier smiled softly, "As a younger mutant, if you wish to stay here, you will be required to take classes. You still need an education, after all, not to mention with how recently your abilities have emerged, it would do you good to learn more about them and how to control them. You seem to possess some form of exoskeleton. Is there anything else?"
"Also-" Ororo jumped in, "We would like to know from which source you learned about our school. I am sure you understand by now that this is a concern for us. Where was it and from whom did you hear about us?" she was still firm and serious, but had calmed down enough that she was simply down to business now, rather than suspicious.
'And one last thing.' suddenly Xavier was speaking in Corwin's mind, 'I do not believe Ororo "digs" you. She is a counselor here, and quite a bit older than you. I would back off that line of thought and let her be a guide for you instead.' he smiled at Corwin and gave him a small wink.

"I understand and I'm willing to participate in the courses provided. I think there's something more to my powers than even I think. 'Cause the thing is... I died. Sort of. I was shot and pronounced dead. When I was in the morgue some sort of cocoon formed around my body. When I emerged, I could do the exoskeleton deal."
Corwin stared at the professor expecting a response when Ororo interjected.
"Well, I used roll with a bunch mutant enthusiasts. My friend Pete's brother knew a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy who was the aid for one Senator Kelly. He says he saw information on a home for mutants in the New York area. I felt after my death, I no longer had a home. So I packed up and headed out here in search of this place."
Thinking about his life before always left a bad taste in his mouth. It was sad to think that his old home, his old friends were all gone in a sense. To cheat death but to lose all you had to live for was sickening. The sound of the Professor's voice entered his mind. Telepath. Corwin smiled at the advice of his headmaster. He couldn't change his opinion of Ororo's appearance but he could keep their relationship appropriate. Understood, sir.

Charles and Ororo shared a look of alarm when Corwin explained his source for learning about their school. If Senator Kelly and his people knew about their school and where they were... they would need to do some investigation on that matter, and react carefully. They took a moment to communicate their plan of action mentally, the Professor essentially telling Ororo that he would inform some of the other X-Men, and they would be sent on a recon mission. Information-gathering only.
That matter pushed aside, Ororo turned her attention back to Corwin, "Thank you for the information." she was now completely past the possibility of him being a threat, treating him like a student instead, "So you came back from the dead? That could be a very interesting mutation."
Charles nodded in agreement, "My guess would be that your body adapts to death or possibly threats by building defenses against said threats. We have another student here, a Mr. Hailstone-Yukita, who may have some similarities to you. He does not adapt to danger as you do, but is able to pass away and return to life at will. He may be able to help you understand your abilities a bit more, or at the very least, be able to empathize what it is like to return from the dead."
"I can introduce the two, as well as show Mr. Easton around and help him choose his classes." Ororo offered, "Since Jean is assisting the other new student, the only other immediate concern is our security systems."
"I will inform Forge of the problem." Xavier replied. He turned his attention back to Corwin, "I hope you enjoy your stay at the institute, Mr. Easton." he smiled warmly, "I will also find Tero for you, Ororo." he took a moment to focus, "He seems to be in the hedge maze... just waking up from a previous death, incidentally. He said he would meet you in the halls where the classrooms begin."
"Thank you Professor." Ororo nodded, turning to Corwin, "Are you ready to be off then? Or did you have any other questions first?"

Corwin glanced blankly at the two as they exhanged nods and stares. His blank look fell when the conversation shifted back to him. Upon hearing about the student who could die on command, he made up in his mind to have a talk with that kid. Cory hoped the similarities between their mutations would be breeding grounds for a great friendship.
"Ms. Munroe, I'd be delighted to have you show me around the grounds. Thanks Professor, see you later." Corwin paused and then motioned for Storm to lead the way. "After you, madam."Kitsune Ketz Kwineight ((Storm you have my permission to move Corwin where ever this tour begins.))
