[General Information] Name: Ian Paul Wickes Nicknames: As a civilian Ian doesn't have any nicknames but as The Green Lantern has plenty of derogitory nicknames given to him by his fellow Lanterns and the Villain society alike these include: "Teen Lantern", "Little Lantern", "Pewzer" and "The Green Candle" all referring to his lack of experience, age and slight frame. Titles: The Green Lantern Age: 21 Birthday: 25th March Star Sign: Aries Gender: Male Race: Human Moral Alignment: Good
[Personal Information] Occupation: Student (Video Game Design), Part-Time Bartender, Superhero Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Video Games, Trading Card Games, Drawing, Computers, Social Networking, Sports, Reading, Cooking, Travelling, Driving. Dreams: Ian's ultimate goal is to not only prove himself as a Green Lantern but to also show himself worthy of inheriting Hal Jordan's Legacy. If that fails, he's happy to make a best selling video game. Dislikes: Losing, Bad Video Games, Bad Luck, Superstition, Religion, Being away from Coast City too long, Killawog's Training Methods, Being Afraid, Failing, Missing Classes. Fears: Failure, Spider, His Own Limitations. Darkest Secret: Ian's darkest secret is probably also his greatest weakness: His inferiority complex. Ian is so afraid that he isn't worthy and becomes so mad at himself that he may not be that it's even been said that other power rings have tried to claim him as their champion. Favourite Food: Steak and Kideny Pie Favourite Drink: Coca-Cola Cherry Least Favourite Food: Peanuts (is allergic) Least Favourite Drink: Bitter Ales Loyalties: Ian's loyalty is towards doing the right thing. He has even went against orders from the Guardians themselves in order to do what he believes is the right thing. Intelligence Level: Above Average Borderline Superior, 119 IQ Score Dominant Hand: Right-Handed Strengths: Indomitable Will, Imagination, Strategical Thinking, World Knowledge, Compassion, Kindness, Memory, Potential. Weaknesses: Inferiority Complex which in turns leads to fear and explosive rage, Kindness, Compassion.
Cherished Items: ○ Hal's Power Ring: After learning about Hal and all e'd been through from the ring; Ian became quite attatched to it and admired Hal for his bravery. Knowing it is all that there is left of such a great hero, Ian will defend it with his life.
Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint: Ian is very much a believer in the fact that Void Earth needs heroes, even though he wouldn't have chosen himself as one. However, he believes that if he can set an example to the people; they might follow him into brighter days and in doing so one day not need heroes of a god-like caliber.
Religious Viewpoint: Ian hates religion and superstition alike due to their contradicting natures and restraining doctrines. Although, it has become harder for him not to believe in the concept of destiny after Hal's ring chose him.
Romantic Viewpoint: In terms of Romance, Ian believes that the love of his life is out there somewhere but whilst he is a Green Lantern, it is too dangerous for them to be together.
Personality Ian is definitely the kind of superhero whom has two very different personas when in and out of the mask. As Ian Wickes he is mild mannered, attentive, kind and the kind of person who is popular but not too popular thanks to these traits. He is very likable. But even in his day to day life Ian's inferiority complex drives him towards spectacular achievement, his fear of failure sometimes ruling his life as he will forgo social interaction to study or to make sure he is ready for his next challenge as a Lantern. Ian has been shown to be somewhat of a perfectionist, often resulting in him taking complete control of projects from planning to execution.
However, as Green Lantern, Ian takes on a few newer traits that many wouldn't associate with him such as a new level of confidence and a knack for diplomacy that is possible for him in his everyday life but he often represses in order to lead a quieter easy life. He often makes wise cracks, tries his hardest and has an almost never give up attitude. Whilst a Green Lantern though, Ian's Inferiority complex has caused him to become somewhat dangerous either causing his ring to fail due to fear or resulting in explosive fits of rage.
Even though these two personalities seem to be so different they are beginning to overlap and mold into one overall personality each side taking on traits of the other when needs be such as Ian having confidence in his study or the Green Lantern showing humility in his powers.
Biography Born and bred in Coast City, Ian and his family were lucky enough to survive the city's destruction at the hands of Mongul. Although only young, the event had a tremendous effect on the rest of Ian's life. He tried his hardest at school, tried his hardest to make friends to replace the ones he had lost and even tried his hardest to learn about what had happened and how to prevent it but after his parents moved him to Metropolis, it didn't seem to matter anymore and Ian began to lead what seemed to be a normal life.
Ian went to school and made friends in Metroplois but secretly always longed for Coast City to one day return and be able to call it home; so, when Hal Jordan's appearance began making certain parts of Coast City reappear, it was needless to say that it filled Ian with hope. However, it didn't just fill the son with hope that they could one day return to coast city, for Ian's Father who was an engineer also took this as a sign to maybe consider rebuilding Coast City to and beyond its former glory. He enlisted the help of an old architect friend, John Stewart, to help him begin the project and once it was government approved; Wickes and Stewart began recruiting like minded people including Ian, Destruction survivors and Coast City sympathizers in order to get the job done.
Ian learnt a lot from his time helping his Father and John, a natural artist, Ian pretty much cultivated his talents as he helped designed some of the new buildings and areas of Coast City. He continued to go to school between helping his Father and his own social life and was a pretty mediocre student, flying under the radar in order to give himself an easy life. He excelled academically, eventually earning a place at University where his Father thought that he was going to study Engineering after the aptitude he had shown for the field during his time helping in Coast City's reconstruction. However, both Stewart and Wickes were shocked when Ian announced that he was actually going to Metropolis University to study Video Games Design, a passion of his since he was young and how he'd initially developed his drawing skills. Although slightly disappointed about the fact his son wasn't following in his footsteps, Wickes was happy that his son was becoming a man and making his own way in the world; he gave Ian his blessing and the two moved Ian to Metropolis.
His first year at University went by without any real incident, save for meeting an old friend, Skylar Evans whom coincidentally went to the same University. The two were somewhat inseparable, becoming best friends and at times lovers. The relationship continued in the same on off fashion for the next two years; it was just after he'd refused a drunk Skylar that Ian inherited his Legacy from Hal Jordan...
Making their way home in Ian's car, the two lovers had been at a party and whilst Ian was driving, Skye tried to make a pass at him; rebutting her because she was drunk, the two fought and they spent the rest of the journey in silence, it wasn't until Ian eventually dropped Skylar off at her parents house on the outskirts of Metropolis that she decided to speak to him again or rather shout at him. Waking up her parents, Skylar was taken inside and Ian left, feeling rather bad about the situation and drove through the night towards Coast City instead of going back to his University accommodation.
Meanwhile, Hal Jordan was busy fighting Sinestro in Metropolis alongside Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardener and Ian's family friend, John Stewart. Superman's disappearance had left Metropolis defenseless and very susceptible to the yellow flame of fear. Sinestro hoped that among the residents of Metropolis there might be a human with the capabilities of Jordan and so, he began recruiting more and more of the Metropolis populace to his Sinestro Corps. The four Green Lanterns on the scene were soon overwhelmed by the pure amount of humans turning yellow that they began to retreat but soon, the unthinkable happened.
Guy Gardener faded from existence.
The three remaining Green Lanterns realized it was now their turn to disappear; as many of their friends had done in the last couple of months. Determined to go down in a blaze of green glory, Hal rallied the others behind him into one last head on assault. John disappeared soon after they engaged the Yellow Ring bearers. With Kyle fading fast, Hal was soon alone. It was around this time that Batman's Legacy Initiative kicked in; creating a small anomaly at this moment in time and giving Hal a few more seconds to program his ring to select a new wielder. The ring zoomed off, leaving Hal to disappear.
Ian was still driving back to Coast City, rather tired but glad he was going to make it before the morning. Switching on the radio, he was shocked by what was transpiring in metropolis and was torn between continuing home, or turning round and finding Skylar. In the end, he chose to turn back and save Skylar. He phoned her as he made his way back, once again earning her wrath as she began shouting at him. Hal's ring responded to this brave choice and began to seek out Ian and when it did, crashed into his car and folded it like an origami. The last thing Skylar remembers hearing was the sounded of a car crash, Ian heard her scream but soon realized that he was no longer in his car.
Floating, glowing green, wearing a strange ring and also now in a strange Uniform with a familiar symbol; Ian emerged unscathed from the car crash and admired himself. He had been selected to be the new Green Lantern of Earth. As programmed, the ring took him to Oa to be seen by the Guardians and at first they disapproved of Ian even going as far to negotiate with the governments of Earth to work in a sort of unison to bring criminals too dangerous for Earth to Oa whilst Ian trained. It didn't fill Ian with any confidence as the Guardians threw him straight in with Killawog; Hal Jordan's best friend.
Killawog, like the rest of the corps, gave Ian a hard time because of the ring he wore. Hal Jordan brought about polar opposites in opinion and people were concerned that Joprdan's ring may have found someone like him as a replacement: Someone with the power of greatness as Jordan had but also the potential to abuse said power. Killawog tried everything he could to get Ian to quit the Corps even using mental torture to play on Ian's own insecruties but after his training was complete even the Guardians had to respect Ian's willpower. Killawog allowed Ian to go on duty and he returned to Earth as its only current Green Lantern.
Determined to do well by the world, as well as pass his college degree; Ian set about fighting crime all over the world.
[Relationship Information] Friends: ○ John Stewart | Justice League & Green Lantern Corps | Family Friend & Colleague John Stewart is an old Wickes family friend and that friendship deepened when John helped Melvin to rebuild Coast City; Ian was also somewhat involved and John always believed in him, pushing him to produce some of his best work. Ian never knew that John was a Green Lantern until he became one himself and does wish that he had John around as a mentor.
○ Alexander James | Good | Work Colleague Although they haven't known each other for very long, Ian and Alexander have bonded during their time working together at the Ace o' Clubs. Ian looks out for Alexander as he is newer to the bar than him but he still thinks there is something amiss with Alexander that he can't quite put his finger on.
○ Taliana Lance | Legacy | Friend, Confident, Partial Work Colleague Ian and Taliana have known one and other for a while as Taliana often sings at the Ace o' Clubs where Ian works; Ian is quite fond of her as she is both pretty and kind, a combination you don't see very often. However, their relationship took quite the turn as she helped him escape Nathaniel Grant and both of their secret identities were revealed. Ian was quite happy to find someone out there he could talk to about his problems being a Superhero.
○ Darius Allen | Legacy | Responsible For Darius Allen is a dimensional traveler who came looking for his "Uncle" Hal Jordan but instead found Ian. Ian's ring then said that everything Darius knew was gone and pushed Darius to almost have a mental breakdown, after Darius' failure to find Hal, Ian assumed some sort of responsibility for him seeing as he is Hal's replacement and as the Green Lantern of sector 2814 must look out for those in need.
○ Alistair Zakarius | Good | Acquaintances Alistair Zakarius came to Taliana's apartment after the fight with Nathaniel Grant to see if Ian was okay, which he appreciates but he doesn't really know anything about the kid, so is remaining vigilant for now.
Enemies: ○ Nathaniel Grant | Sinestro Corps | Enemies/ Rivals Nathaniel Grant is the newest Yellow Lantern of Sector 2814 and has made his intentions clear after attacking Ian and besting him in combat. Ian felt slightly betrayed when it was revealed that Nathaniel was human but also felt sorry for him, determined not only to beat him but to save him from the Yellow Light of Fear.
○ Oliver Colt | Red Lantern Corps | Reluctant Enemies Although understanding of why he must protect the world from this Red Lantern's unbridled rage, Ian is somewhat reluctant to engage in combat with him due to knowing that he isn't in full control of his faculties. Understanding the Red Ring and what it does to people has actually proven to hinder Ian's ability to act against them instead showing them mercy rather than the somewhat needed brutality. ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
Family: ○ Melvin George Wickes | Wickes Family | Father Head of the Wickes clan and credited as the man who built Coast City single-handed, Melvin George Wickes is both Ian's Father and Hero. The two are much alike when it comes to their kindness towards others and the two have never really fought. However, knowing that he will tell his Mother, Ian has not told his Father that he is the new Green Lantern. It pain him but Ian genuinely believes it for the best.
○ Lynne Wickes | Wickes Family | Mother The Wickes matriarch, Lynne is very protective over Ian which has led him to keeping his appointment as a Green Lantern a secret from her. Ian appreciates his Mother though and would do anything for her.

[Weapon Information] ○ Green Lantern Ring: A Green Lantern Ring, also known as a Power Ring, is a piece of jewelry that grants the wearer incredible and incomprehensible powers and abilities by harnessing willpower. They are considered by some to be the most powerful weapons in the known universe. Depending on the skill and willpower of the wearer, it can do almost anything. The first Green Lantern Ring on Earth in modern times was crafted and worn by Alan Scott and powered by the mystical Starheart. His proved to be the exception, the by-product of the efforts of the Guardians of the Universe to contain the magic of the universe. The Guardians also created the more widespread version, powered by individual Green Lantern Power Batteries through a connection to the Central Power Battery on Oa. With the exception of the ring worn by Alan Scott, the current rings are based on the one given to Kyle Rayner when he was the only Green Lantern in existence.
○ Green Lantern Power Battery: Power Batteries are constantly charged by the Central Power Battery to manually fuel about 7200 individual Green Lantern Rings. With few exceptions the Power Ring is limited to a 24 hour charge and must be recharged in the Power Battery on a daily basis.
[Ability Information]
○ Bright Green Energy Conduit: The rings use pure energy supplied by a Power Battery, which in most cases takes the form of bright green light. This energy is the green light of willpower of the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. Rot Lop Fan, from a race without eyes, perceives it as the sound "F-Sharp" and his 'ring' is actually a bell. A Green Lantern's ring, considered by some to be one of the most powerful weapons in the known universe, has the ability to affect and use fundamental forces of the known universe, including electromagnetic energies such as gravity, radiation, heat, light, and powerful blasts of concussive force. It is also theorized that the ring also has a basis in other dimensional energies commonly called magic by users of such energies. The ring can also create fields of force formed from an unknown energy that is bound by the users' will. The limitations of such use are the skill, knowledge and imagination of the user.
○ Energy Projection: The ring can be used to fire blasts of Oan energy or create weapons such as projectiles of them. The ring can project beams of force powered by the will of the user. The ring can be used to produce kryptonite and kryptonite radiation. Kyle generally used fanciful constructs in the shape of advanced technology. Their appearance does not indicate the power of the weapon. The weapon's power is more an indication of the will of the user. Certain users (i.e. Hal Jordan) have been powerful enough to stagger even Superman. If the user wishes, they can alter the form of the blasts such as Kilowog's "booms."
○ Force Field: The ring can create various force fields of various sizes and shapes to protect the wearer and others around him. With the cosmic scope of a Green Lantern's duties, it is only natural that the power ring is designed for operation in space. The ring creates a force field around the wearer, protecting him/her/it from the hazards of the void including filtration of stellar radiation and microscopic particulate matter which would ordinarily be fatal should the space debris strike the ring wielder at high speeds. An atmosphere appropriate to the ring wielder's biology is created inside the force-field while body temperature is maintained and waste products are removed. Gravitational stresses which could cause injury are stabilized for the ring wielder. Theoretically, a ring wielder could use the ring as his/her/its sole source of life support. The force field seems to be created instantaneously whether this is due to programming or an instinctive reaction from intensive training has not been established. It could be considered as a subroutine of the ring's automatic defensive system, but as of yet this theory has not been proven. The only exception to that was attacks based on the color yellow. The newer version of the ring is not limited by the color yellow.
○ Energy Constructs: The ring can form constructs of Oan energy. The primary function of the Power Ring is to provide a weapon capable of transforming the wearer's thoughts into physical constructs through the wearer's strength of willpower. A Green Lantern can create any particular items or construct that they can imagine as long as they have the willpower necessary to will it into existence. The constructs are made out of bright green energy, which is a tangible form of pure willpower, and they exist only as long as a Green Lantern is fueling it with their willpower. Items created by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the willpower of the Green Lantern creating them. The types of constructs usually reflects the ring wearer's personality. For example, Kyle Rayner was an artist, so his constructs reflect his strong imagination. John Stewart is an architect so his constructs often appear mechanical as if he designed them in his mind before making them a reality.
○ Phasing: The Power Ring allows the wearer to pass through certain solid objects such as walls. Which objects that are not penetrable are not known, but it may depend upon the strength of the wearer's willpower and the density of the object's molecular structure.
○ Environmental Playback: Upon request, the power ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. The ring wielder can observe events in a ghostlike state, but the ring wielder cannot alter the outcome of the playback. All objects in the playback will appear in the full spectrum of colors, regardless of the wielder's level of expertise creating simulacra. The power ring will automatically end the playback if outside interference warrants the ring wielder's undivided attention.
○ Invisibility & Light Refraction: A ring wielder can render him/her/itself invisible by willing the ring to bend light waves around his/her/its form, as well as that of the power ring. Presumably, a similar action allows an experienced ring wielder to create objects of colors other than green. As Hal Jordan's experience grew, he was able to create power ring illusions of people and objects. It can be assumed the ring wielder would not risk the extra time and effort to create other colors in a combat situation. An invisibility shield was used by Hal Jordan to hide his power ring, which would only become visible when he changed to Green Lantern.
○ Energy Twin: The power ring allows the wearer to create an "energy twin" of his/her/itself that can travel at far greater speeds than that of the ring wielder's physical form. While the energy twin is active the ring wielder remains motionless, his/her/its life force is needed to guide the energy twin. The energy twin can not alter its surroundings and may only be perceived by the Guardians or another ring wielder as a green, ghostlike image. Any knowledge gained by the energy twin is transferred back to the ring wielder's physical form upon recontact with the body. The Guardians frequently used energy twins as a means of contacting a Green Lantern. As a rule, a ring wielder can not create actual, independent duplicates of him/her/itself, as the power ring cannot create life.
○ Energy Absorption: The ring can absorb and store other energies. Doing so does NOT replenish the normal store of energy the ring has. A ring that needs recharging but contained a store of electricity could only discharge that electricity, for example.
○ Flight: By the manipulation of anti-gravitons and directed molecular movement, the ring allows the user to fly at incredible speeds. In atmosphere, a Green Lantern has been known to fly as fast as Mach 10 in atmosphere by creating an aerodynamic envelope around his body. Towing others, usually within a bubble, his speed is limited to the twice the speed of sound or 1440 mph. In space, Green Lantern's speed can be significantly greater and has been known to approach 99% of light speed in normal space. Flight has been shown to be velocities far exceeding light speed. In atmospheres, air friction is not a hindrance since heat is either absorbed or reflected by the ring's field.
○ Superhuman Strength: While not superstrength of the conventional sense, a Lantern while using constructs created by the ring becomes capable of lifting/moving tremendous weights far heavier than 100 tons with little effort.
○ Wormholes & Spacial Warps: The power ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport. The Guardians established at least one known wormhole to Oa, which required the use of a power ring to enter. Black holes can be navigated by experienced ring wielders. During a battle with Sinestro and his ally, MadGod Sector 3600, members of the Green Lantern Corps of Earth and the Green Lantern Corps of the Klyminade traveled through a black hole to be deposited outside a white hole in Space Sector 872. The power ring cannot generate a Boom Tube as it needs a Mother Box and a sample of the highly unstable X-Element. There is no known way to duplicate either item even with the power ring. Should a Green Lantern make his/her/its way to the other-dimensional worlds of Apokolips or New Genesis through a Boom Tube, the ring will function as it does in the rest of the universe. John Stewart encountered no ring related difficulties during his stay on New Genesis, despite the loss of the Central Power Battery. The ring wielder would still need a Boom Tube to return to his/her/its dimension.
○ Limited Cellular Regeneration: The ring has an ability to heal physical injuries; this seems to be a feature held over from the previous incarnations of the ring. Green Lantern can use the ring to repair injuries in himself or others. Speculation has been rendered that if Kyle actually had medical knowledge he would be able to cure a wider variety of dysfunctions beyond normal physical injuries.
○ Electromagnetic Scanning: The ring has a wide range of detection abilities based on the imagination of the user. If one can conceive of it, he can probably detect it. Magical effects like clairvoyance seem to be beyond the scope of the ring. Most normal electromagnetic phenomena are within the range of the ring, including radio, radar, television, infrared, ultraviolet, microwave, and high frequency band communications.
○ Galactic Encyclopedia: The earlier rings worn by the Corps functioned as references for their users. Having the vast knowledge of the Book of Oa to draw upon, each ring functioned as a ready reference on most peoples, stellar events and conditions that may have been seen by other rings or other Green Lanterns. The rings also served as a repository of adventures had by the Green Lantern and these mission reports were stored in the Prime Battery on Oa for review and training.
○ Universal Translator: Keeping in mind the myriad of worlds, life forms, and cultures throughout the cosmos, it is understandable why the Guardians added a translation system to the power ring. The power ring can translate virtually any language in the universe, facilitating diplomatic encounters rather than violent confrontations. Complications arise when a frame of reference for translation is not available, as evidenced during Katma Tui's induction of Rot Lop Fan into the Green Lantern Corps. Katma Tui had the difficult assignment of explaining the concepts of "light" and "color" to the sightless Rot Lop Fan. She overcame this barrier by using sound rather than light as the basis of the ring's power. Some Green Lanterns, such as the planet form known as Mogo, have used the ring to create an intermediary "being" to expedite communication. However, this ability seems less effective since the restoration; it is possible that not all the data was recovered.
○ Material Alteration: The Green Lantern's uniform is not made out of fabric. It is created by the Power Ring whenever the wearer wills to wear it. It automatically appears over the wearer's normal clothing, and vanishes when the wearer wills to return to their civilian attire. Most Green Lanterns wear similar uniforms that are programmed into the ring by default such as Hal Jordan's uniform. However, each Green Lantern is able to adjust their uniform to fit their own needs, personalities and whims. For example, Kyle Rayner was unsatisfied with the traditional Green Lantern uniform and created several of his own designs. John Stewart's uniform is similar to Hal Jordan's, but lacks a mask to hide his identity. Jack Chance is the most extreme example, refusing to wear a uniform save for a Lantern badge on his trench coat. The green parts of the wearer's uniform are usually very warm or hot to those who touch it, while the black parts are very cold. The uniform also produces a "siren" taking on the form of the Green Lantern Corps' symbol, circling the Green Lantern when active. The symbol, or badge, will not appear on the uniform until after a newly inducted Lantern has completed training on Oa, leading to the term "White-circle" to describe a rookie Lantern..
○ Ring Duplication: Most Power Rings are capable of automatically duplicating themselves. Each duplicate typically shares the qualities and capabilities of the original ring. While the thought of an unauthorized person getting a hold of a power ring and making duplicates for nefarious purposes, their ability to inflict damage is limited because each duplicate still requires to be recharged by a personal power battery.
○ Emergency Beacon: A Green Lantern in distress can use his/her/its power ring as an emergency beacon. The alert can be directed to a Green Lantern's neighboring sector, or it can be a Corps-wide alert.
○ Homing Beacon: A homing beacon in the power ring can lead one Green Lantern to another. This was one of the recent power ring upgrade features added by the Guardians of the Universe. The power ring can be ordered to disguise itself to elude power ring wielding trackers. Guy Gardner successfully escaped the Green Lantern Corps of Earth by willing the power ring to keep his location a secret. Most often ring wielders will allow the beacon to signal their location to others. The Green Lantern Corps of Earth found the remnants of the Green Lantern Corps of The Klyminade by tracking them through their power rings.
○ Mind Alteration: Though the ethics of mind tampering may be debatable, sometimes it is necessary. As the power ring relies on thought and will to operate, mind tampering is not impossible. The real difficulty lies in properly applying the power. There lies a risk of catastrophic damage to the mind should mistakes be made. A ring wielder can use the power ring to erase portions of an individual's memories. To protect his secret identity as Hal Jordan, Green Lantern created a mental block in the mind of Major Disaster. Green Lanterns have used mind techniques as part of training. New recruits may be subjected to mind scans by other Green Lanterns or the Guardians of the Universe. They are taught to build mental defenses to protect themselves from psionic attack. The power ring can also be used to beam information from the ring wielder to another being. Green Lanterns have used this technique to share information regarding their enemies during combat situations.
○ Pocket Dimension: Within the ring exists the possibility of an entire world. When Green Lantern Abin Sur of Ungara defeated the evil sorcerer Myrwhydden, he reduced the magician to submicroscopic size and imprisoned him inside the power ring within a world created by the Green Lantern's will. This undefined space may be a tesseract or a virtual reality created by the power ring. Whether or not this area exists in all rings has yet to be proven. Years after Abin Sur's death, Myrwhydden's power grew, allowing him to alter his environment and escape to battle the next Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. The power ring's interior appeared as a barren wasteland, dotted with dead trees and sea shells which Myrwhydden used during an escape attempt. A few years ago, Mywhydden was removed from the power ring to be sentenced to an Oan Sciencell.
○ Security Protocol: The rings can be programmed. They are coded to the wearer to make them unusable if stolen. The ring will refuse to take an action that would kill a being unless they are on Oa or with permission. The Guardians recently removed the lethal force prohibition, first to allow lethal force against members of the Sinestro Corps, then against all enemies of the Green Lantern Corps.
○ Preset Conditions: Commands can be stored in the ring to be executed at a later date even if the bearer is not wearing the ring. This ability was demonstrated by Ch'p, who surrendered his ring but ordered it to restrain his enemy after a few moments had passed.
○ Thought Relay: Otherwise known as a telepathic link.
○ Indomitable Will: Indomitable Will is a capacity to control one's emotions and impulses. Also, anyone with an Indomitable Will is capable of overcoming fear and resisting mind control. Having an Indomitable Will is an important trait to be chosen for the Green Lantern Corps.
○ Artistry: Artistry, also called Art or Visual Aesthetics, is the ability to create through any means or series of collective intuition. Art is vaguely defined and is as old as human's cognitive thought. Only higher level animals have access to this ability. This ability is categorized within characters who have shown a substantial amount of art skill due to their background, training or active skill. Characters who are artists are Kyle Rayner, Batman and the Tattooed Man.
○ Eidetic Memory: Eidetic Memory, also known as Photographic Memory, is the ability to mentally recall anything and everything a character has ever been allowed to remember over the course of their entire lives. This can extend further and beyond the scopes of reality's memory as a character like Brainiac or those like the Gods of Rome may transcend their memory. For human characters like Batman or Oracle they can simply remember everything they ever learned.
[Weakness Information]
○ Mental Instability Protocol: Drug use, neural interference, vertigo or other forms of mental incapacitation can render the wearer unable to use their ring, rendered useless.
○ Yellow Impurity: Formerly, the rings were unable to directly affect yellow. Now, a wearer can bypass this if they can 'accept fear', which is personified by the color yellow. Rookie Lanterns are more susceptible to fear and thus vulnerable to the color yellow.
○ Recharge Protocol: Formerly, the rings needed to be charged after a period of one planetary axial rotation (dependent on each ring's location), regardless of how often it was used. Currently, the rings retain a charge until they run out of power. This variability ensures that the wearer takes great effort to keep it charged. This weakness does not apply to Ion's host.
○ Vibrational Interference: If a vibration from a device is set to a certain speed, it causes the ring to function only in miniature, so that if the user wanted to make hands to grab something, the hands would be too small to grab it. A clock has been seen to do this.
○ Red Power Rings: Red Power Rings can dissolve the energy from a Green Power Ring.
○ Inferiority Complex: A weakness brought about by his own character rather than his ring's power; An inferiority complex is a lack of self-worth, a doubt and uncertainty, and feeling of not measuring up to society's standards. It is often subconscious, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extreme antisocial behavior. The term was coined to indicate a lack of covert self esteem. For many, it is developed through a combination of genetic personality characteristics and personal experiences.
○ Beetle Scarab Reaction: Due to the Green Lantern Ring recognizing the Reach Beetle Scarabs as a threat; the Power Rings will often cause adverse effects in their users whilst the Scarab is in their vicinity. John Stewart's used to spark as if afraid and Guy Gardener's used to cause him severe migraines whereas with Ian it causes what can only be described as a suicidal adrenaline rush. Increasing both Ian's adrenaline and serotonin levels to spike massively, it causes a complete personality shift in Ian, making him careless, aggressive and somewhat reckless. Even going as far as attacking other innocent people in order to find the Scarab Host.

Power Ring Cheat Codes As a gamer and a video game designer, Ian has used the ring's ability to store commands and his own abilities such as his eidetic memory in order to store what he calls "cheat codes" in the ring and then activate them using his eidetic memory's ability to recall them.
"Playstation: Up, down, left, left, square, circle, L2, start" - Recharge Shortcut Probably Ian's most useful but dangerous cheat code, this cheat allows Ian to recharge his Power Ring quickly and efficiently by locking onto his Power Battery's location and opening a small wormhole to it that Ian can just about fit his fist into and if needed pull the Power Battery through. The only downside is that through cutting corners, Ian puts himself in huge danger, if his ring doesn't have enough power or the process is interrupted or he loses focus, the wormhole could collapse on itself and sever his arm clean off. The full range of this code is yet to be explored as Ian has been able to use it over great distances but whether or not he can create a wormhole into other dimensions is unknown to anyone even him.
"Gameboy: Start + Select + A + B = Soft Rest!" - Ring to Me

[General Information] Name: Ian Paul Wickes Nicknames: As a civilian Ian doesn't have any nicknames but as The Green Lantern has plenty of derogatory nicknames given to him by his fellow Lanterns and the Villain society alike these include: "Teen Lantern", "Little Lantern", "Poozer" and "The Green Candle" all referring to his lack of experience, age and slight frame. The Black Beetle has also dubbed him "Glowstick".
+ After the events of Reign of Fear, the Green Candle nickname given to him by Nathaniel Grant has been known to trigger severe mental episodes for Ian.

Fears: Failure, Spider, His Own Limitations, + Not Being Able to Save People, + Killing Someone, + Reach Scarabs Darkest Secret: Ian's darkest secret is probably also his greatest weakness: His inferiority complex.
However, he believes that if he can set an example to the people; they might follow him into brighter days and in doing so one day not need heroes of a god-like calibre. + He has also come to believe that NO ONE is beyond saving.
+ "There is always time for that [Grief]. Forget the consequences, forget what side you're on and with as much power as I have... I can fall like Nathaniel did. Any of us can. I'm not unable to face up to the consequences, I'm terrified of them, as I should be..." - Ian Wickes, Battle for Coast City
+ After the Reign of Fear and his battle with Nathaniel Grant, Ian has been finding it hard not only to deal with his grief but with the fact he killed someone. Whilst others say it was for the greater good and he claims it was an accident, the memory of Nathaniel Bleeding to death is still carved into his mind and therefore making him reluctant to carry out his duties as a Green Lantern. Many people have began to notice PTSD like symptoms in Ian and bottling it inside himself is slowly killing him.
Superman's disappearance had left Metropolis defenceless and very susceptible to the yellow flame of fear.
Hal Jordan brought about polar opposites in opinion and people were concerned that Jordan's ring may have found someone like him as a replacement: Someone with the power of greatness as Jordan had but also the potential to abuse said power. Killawog tried everything he could to get Ian to quit the Corps even using mental torture to play on Ian's own insecurities but after his training was complete even the Guardians had to respect Ian's willpower. Killawog allowed Ian to go on duty and he returned to Earth as its only current Green Lantern.
Determined to do well by the world, as well as pass his college degree; Ian set about fighting crime all over the world.
+ It wasn't long before Ian came up against a real threat in the form of Nathaniel Grant, Earth's first rawly recruited [as in not already a Green Lantern] Sinestro Corps member. Ambushed on his way home from work, Ian was beaten even though he pushed himself to his limit and was only spared due to Nathaniel's mercy and the timely intervention of the Black Canary Legacy: The Nightingale.
Saved from the Qwardian ring user, the Nightingale took Ian back to her apartment to hide him and help him recuperate. She revealed herself to be Taliana Lance, an acquaintance of Ian's from work. Not soon after that, the Legacies of the Martian Manhunter and The Flash joined them in Taliana's apartment. The Flash had mistaken Ian for Hal Jordan, his apparent Uncle, and as such Ian felt responsible for him deciding it best that Darius stay with him. The two hit it off immediately. Whilst Abdi'Karmin Ghedi, the Martian Manhunter's Legacy, rubbed Ian up the wrong way.
Eventually leaving due to his frustration with the Martin, Ian took Darius back to his on-campus accommodation at Metropolis University. But the two were thrown into the thick of things as another ring user, this time a Red Lantern, appeared and attacked the University. Tired and injured, Ian charged into the fray, taking both the position as Leader and the Red Lantern with a "shocking" efficiency. Once the Rage filled human was defeated, Ian allowed him to live despite protests from the others hoping to one day save Oliver from his fate.
After all the excitement of the night, Ian moved Darius into his dorm room and pretty much passed out. He didn't wake until the morning and left Darius alone in his room so that he could go to class, mostly healed via his ring, Ian made his way across the battle damaged campus eventually tripping and falling into the lap of none other than Taliana Lance. Surprised that she went to his University, Ian was rooted into the spot out of a plethora of emotions and the two started talking about their new lives as crime fighters. The more they talked however, made Ian think more about things and the two seen realized that these "new" heroes were nothing too new at all but were in fact almost carbon copies of their predecessors.
Shocked by this revelation, Ian and Taliana wondered what to do next. Should they form a new Justice League? Or keep on as they were? However, before they could make that decision a classmate of Ian's, Michael Kent, dropped a bombshell on the two. He revealed that he was the son of Superman. Once again reeling, Ian wanted to ask a lot of questions about everything but was interrupted when Nathaniel Grant hijacked every signal receiving device in the world and declared war on Earth. Confused, tired and already late for class; Ian deduced that Nathaniel was in Atlantis and would therefore probably attack Coast City, his own home town. Taking up the leadership role once again almost subconsciously, he organized the heroes near him and went to Coast City by himself determined to save both it and Nathaniel.
The two ring wielders met on the bay but Nathaniel was also accompanied by the wearer of the Black Beetle Scarab. The presence of the scarab activated the ring's own protocol's and changed Ian's behaviour; he became reckless and dangerous and even gave up on saving Nathaniel after a while. Eventually, it came down to a classic duel of wills between the two and after losing control, Ian's construct accidentally exploded killing hundreds of Atlanteans as well as his rival Nathaniel Grant. Traumatized by the event, his emotions awoke him from the scarab's influence and he grieved. This grief made him once again argue with Abdi and after telling Abdi he wasn't worth on J'onnz Legacy fled Earth and made his way to Oa.
Enemies: ○ Nathaniel Grant | Sinestro Corps/ +Deceased | Enemies/ Rivals/ +Friend Nathaniel Grant is the newest Yellow Lantern of Sector 2814 and has made his intentions clear after attacking Ian and besting him in combat. Ian felt slightly betrayed when it was revealed that Nathaniel was human but also felt sorry for him, determined not only to beat him but to save him from the Yellow Light of Fear.
+ Ian accidentally killed Nathaniel during the Reign of Fear event and has felt guilt about it ever since even going as far to have flashbacks and panic attacks whenever the event comes to mind. Ian is also further saddened by the event because in his dying breathes Nathaniel not only redeemed himself but also showed Ian how similar the two of them were. Because of this, Ian has become extra vigilante and critical about himself, trying his hardest to make Nathaniel proud of him.
+ ○ Abdi'Karim Ghedi | Martian Manhunter Legacy | Heated Having already got off on the wrong foot after Abdi basically said Ian was "replaceable" in Taliana's Apartment; Ian and Abdi's relationship took a turn for the worst in the aftermath of Nathaniel Grant's death. Sickened by Abdi's cold demeanour at apparent acceptance of the untold destruction and death Ian not only almost put on Nathaniel's Qwardian Ring but also told Abdi that he wasn't worthy of the Martian Manhunter's Legacy if he believed that killing people was the right thing to do.

Romantic Relationships: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
It is often subconscious, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extreme antisocial behaviour. The term was coined to indicate a lack of covert self esteem. For many, it is developed through a combination of genetic personality characteristics and personal experiences. + Since the Reign of Fear, Ian has been extra hard on himself, resulting in keeping himself on the straight and narrow path when it comes to the use of his powers but also keeping his morale at an all time low.
+ After witnessing the effects it had on him during the Coast City battle at Dropaway Beach, Ian has become terrified of the potential problems that could arise when dealing with the Reach Scarabs and as such, would rather run away from them than face them.
+ ○ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events. PTSD can develop immediately after someone experiences a disturbing event or it can occur weeks, months or even years later. Someone with PTSD will often relive the traumatic event through nightmares and flashbacks, and may experience feelings of isolation, irritability and guilt. They may also have problems sleeping, such as insomnia, and find concentrating difficult. These symptoms are often severe and persistent enough to have a significant impact on the person’s day-to-day life.
Ian developed the disorder after his battle with Nathanial Grant at Dropaway Beach.
+ ○ The Memory of Nathaniel Grant: With Ian's Eidetic memory, he cannot forget Nathaniel Grant; what he did, what he said or anything about him but most of all Ian cannot forgive and forget the fact that it was his fault Nathaniel died. So now, Ian is haunted by Nathaniel's "ghost" and can often result in Ian being paralysed through fear.
+ ○ Weakened Constructs: Thanks to the PTSD, his lack of conviction, low morale and low self esteem; Ian's constructs have regressed in power. Not only are they now easily shattered and more exhausting for him to use but they have also reverted to being ineffective against the colour yellow. Until he overcomes himself, he will not be able to attain his former power levels or better yet his potential power level.

[General Information] Name: Daniel Hall/ Dream of the Endless Nicknames: Dream, Dream King, The White Dream Titles: The Sandman Age: Unknown/ Unfathomable Birthday: Unknown Star Sign: Unknown Gender: Male Race: Endless Moral Alignment: Circumstantial
[Personal Information] Occupation: Dream King Sexuality: Asexual Likes: Very few things. Dreams: He is the Lord of all The Dreaming and therefore ruler of all Dreams. He needs no Dream or goal, he is Dream of the Endless. Dislikes: A lot of things. Fears: His own inexperience, his Brothers and Sisters. Darkest Secret: Too many to count. Favourite Food: Doesn't need food. Favourite Drink: Doesn't need to drink. Least Favourite Food: Still doesn't need food. Least Favourite Drink: Still doesn't need drink. Loyalties: Circumstantial Intelligence Level: Incomprehensible Dominant Hand: Unknown, Appears Ambidextrous Strengths: Nigh Omnipotent, Nigh Omniscient, Immortal Weaknesses: Sacred Ancient Laws
Cherished Items: Dream has very few actual "possessions" as he doesn't really need them. So, the only thing that one could say he holds in high regard are his three seals of office: His sand pouch, his helmet and the Dreamstone.
Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint: Dream is disconnected from humanity, he watches their philosophies change and their societies fall while he remains eternal. Therefore, they are nothing more than mayflies to him, if that.
Religious Viewpoint: Dream meets many "Gods" being who he is however, he worships none. He cannot for Gods come and go and he is Endless.
Romantic Viewpoint: One of the sacred laws Daniel/ Dream must abide by is that he cannot love a human. Therefore, he is somewhat destined never to love.
Personality Although wise and insightful and every bit a King in his domain and outside of it, Dream is somewhat un-understanding of humanity, their viewpoints and their emotions causing him to be disconnected, distant and somewhat overly harsh towards them.
His inexperience in his office does make him nervous though when he meets the other Endless or people who knew his predecessor, Morpheus.
Biography Daniel Hall was born in the Dreaming, where the Halls were being held prisoner by Brute and Glob, two nightmares who had escaped during Dream's earthly exile.
Hector himself was already dead, and Lyta and Hector's ghost lived together in the dreams of a child; this was until Dream went looking for Brute and Glob, where he destroyed the barrier they created around the child's mind cutting him off from the real dreaming, and banishing them both to an excruciating fate. Once this happened the ghost of Hector faded away, probably into Death's realm, as he should have done when he first died. Dream proceeded to reveal that someday he would return to take Daniel, rightfully his because Daniel had spent the majority of his gestation in the Dreaming, and that there was nothing Lyta could do to prevent it.
Lyta and her child were returned to the waking world, and Lyta tried to pick up the pieces in her life. Before Dream goes off to face Lucifer, he pays another visit to the two, and he names the child Daniel, a name to which Lyta takes a liking.
As Daniel grows, he starts to enter the Dreaming while asleep, and is regaled with stories by Cain, Abel and Eve, while Matthew watches, and returns to Earth clutching one of Matthew's feathers. This doesn't sit well with Lyta, who feels that Dream has not only robbed her of her husband but now also her son. Her grief and torment are undefinable as she slips into insanity.
Lyta, takes her grievances to the Furies, ultimately bringing about Dream's downfall, while sealing her son's place in the Dreaming for all eternity as he assumes the role of Dream.
Daniel is different and yet similar to his predecessor. While he still speaks in the same way, and is still 'Dream of the Endless', he is inexperienced in certain matters and relies on Matthew the raven for advice.
Sometime before the Legacy Initiative was activated, Batman approached Daniel within The Dreaming and asked him for a favour. What this favour was is still a mystery...
[Relationship Information] Friends: ○ Mathew The Raven | The Dreaming | Familiar Mathew the Raven is Dream's familiar. The two have a strange relationship as Mathew served Morpheus Daniel's predecessor. The two are warming up to one and other though and Daniel feels as though he can trust Mathew when he is out of his depth.
○ Bruce Wayne/ Batman | Justice League | Acquintances Bruce Wayne appeared to Dream within the Dreaming and asked him for a favour. What this favour was is still a mystery but impressed with The Batman's courage to come asking for favours from him in his own realm, Dream accepted to do as he was asked.
Enemies: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
Family: ○ Hector Hall/ Doctor Fate | JSA, The Dreaming | Father Daniel never really knew his Father because of the fact he was dragged into The Dreaming by nightmares and forced to take on the persona of 'The Sandman'. Morpheus killed Hector in order to reclaim his realm.
○ Lyta Hall/ Fury | JSA | Mother Daniel's Mother and the one who really condemned Daniel to becoming Dream after he vendetta against Morpheus came to a head. Daniel cares for his Mother but as Dream also cannot.
○ Death | Endless | Sister All of the Endless are siblings. Death is the most human of them all and was the most accepting of Daniel despite her close relationship with Morpheus.
○ Destiny | Endless | Brother All of the Endless are siblings. Dream has not had much to do with Destiny.
○ Destruction | Endless | Brother All of the Endless are siblings. Destruction abdicated his role a long time before Daniel became Dream.
○ Delirium | Endless | Sister All of the Endless are siblings. Delirium is somewhat 50/50 in Daniel's opinions, although she had a close relationship with Morpheus or at least tried to; Daniel can oft find her annoying and too frantic to be around.
○ Desire | Endless | Sister-Brother All the Endless are siblings. Dream is somewhat wary of Desire knowing that he/she and Despair had a hand in Morpheus' downfall. However, Desire has stopped speaking to the rest of the Endless.
○ Despair | Endless | Sister All of the Endless are siblings. Despair is still somewhat mortified with Desire's cutting off all communications with the Endless and is therefore unable to interact with Dream.
○ Morpheus as Dream | Endless | Brother and Predecessor All of the Endless are siblings. Although Daniel is a different person, Daniel is also Dream of the Endless effectively making him the same as Morpheus but different. Daniel kind of lives in Morpheus' shadow.
Romantic Relationships: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
[Weapon Information] ○ Dream's Helm: The Helmet of Dream is a mask of pure dream stuff and is one of his three symbols of office; the other two being his sand pouch and the Dreamstone. Dream crafted the helmet himself ages ago, sculpted from the bones of a dead god that had offered the Morpheus protection. In 1916, Dream was captured due to the efforts of an occultist named Roderick Burgess. Burgess imprisoned Dream in a mystic circle and kept his tools of office for himself. In 1930, Roderick's second-in-command, Ruthven Sykes, stole the helmet and ran off to San Francisco. In December of that year, Sykes bartered the helm with a demon named Choronzon. In exchange, Choronzon gave Sykes an amulet that would protect him from magic. The helm remained the property of Choronzon for more than seventy years. Dream eventually freed himself and journeyed to Hell to reclaim his property. In order to do so however, he had to accept a challenge from Choronzon himself. The demon challenged Dream to a duel of wits, with all of reality serving as their battlefield. Dream bested Choronzon at his own game and took possession of his helmet.
○ Sand of Sleep: His sands can put others to sleep. It is capable of releasing dreams into the real world. Dream carries it around in a small pouch.
○ Dreamstone: Post-Crisis, the Dreamstone is one of twelve stones crafted by Dream of the Endless. The gem known as the Dream Ruby was the one that Dream poured the most of his essence into, making it is the most powerful of the twelve. The other known ones are a Rose-Quartz, which presumably became the Porpentine, a Fire Opal, a Black Pearl, a Topaz, and an Emerald, which was the least powerful of the stones. Some have been scattered, others destroyed.
When Dream was imprisoned, the Dreamstone passed into the hands of Doctor Destiny by means of his mother; Ethel Cripps had purloined it from one of her old lovers (one of the caretakers of Dream). Doctor Destiny changed it and tampered with it, forcing flaws in the stone and warping it with circuitry, so it would offer the totality of its power to him and no one else, including its former master, Dream. He also added more power to it, transforming it into the Materioptikon. After Dee was defeated and imprisoned in Arkham Asylum, the Justice League took the stone from him, storing it in a warehouse in upstate New York. Dee was able to escape Arkham and go after the stone following the death of his mother, Ethel Cripps.
Dream, after discovering the location of the ruby from Scott Free (New Earth) and J'onn J'onzz (New Earth), tried to repossess the stone, but was hurt, repulsed by the alterations Destiny had inflicted upon the Ruby. This allowed the escaped Doctor Destiny to take the stone and escape to an all night diner, where he took over the minds of everyone there, toying with them by showing them their ultimate nightmares, and ultimately causing them to murder each other. While this was happening, the reactivated Materioptikon/Dreamstone was wreaking havok on the entire world, causing erratic, violent behavior in ordinary citizens, an increase in murders and plane crashes, and general mayhem. The Justice League International was not available for comment regarding the chaos. When Dream, who had recovered from being incapacitated at the hands of the Dreamstone, arrived at the diner, Destiny destroyed the stone while trying to use it against Dream. He incorrectly believed that if he shattered it, Dream would die. Instead, the destruction of the stone released its infinite energies and re-empowered Dream, who proceeded to gently defeat Destiny, restore him to Arkham, and give him back his ability to dream.[citation needed]
However, Destiny was no fool, and by then had the knowledge to create another Materioptikon, one created for him, by him. However, it was heavily flawed; Destiny believed that if he managed to clear at least one full facet of the gemstone, he could use it as well as Morpheus' Dreamstone. While Destiny succeeded in forcing a confrontation between the JLA and him in the Dreamscape, he lost the gem, with his consciousness still trapped inside, to a petty loser named Darrin Profitt, who would use it and the gemstone's flaws in a ploy to dominate the world as the Red King.
It turned out each flaw in the Materioptikon represented an alternate, possible universe, each a terrible threat to the mainstream reality; by destroying each of the six and a half billion flaws, Destiny made it more likely he could eventually escape without damaging reality. Profitt, however, imprisoned Destiny and used these Parallels to forge a successful living by manipulating the stock markets by using the universes as testbeds for his market gambling, not caring about possible consequences. Bored with the pinnacle of wealth and admiration he had created for himself, he responded to a challenge issued by the captive Destiny to conquer the world. Using the gem's flaws, he convinced the greatest scientists on each to create immensely powerful technology easily capable of bringing down the Justice League. Arming himself with the armor and weaponry designed by these men, he became the Red King.
However, he was met with an unpleasant surprise: the four final flaws of the gem were the last, having destroyed all of the others in his ascent. Destiny believed he would lose, and he did, with a coalition of two Justice Leagues tricked him into destroying the gate to the final Parallel after releasing the imprisoned Destiny, leaving him stranded within an artifact he could not use or comprehend at the mercy of Destiny's released mind, who, understanding the Materioptikon like none other, prepared to start torturing Profitt with the powers of the complete Materioptikon. Thus, Profitt forever lost the chance to integrate any of his upgraded selves into the mainstream reality with the Materioptikon, and Destiny, while still imprisoned, now has in his dreamself's hands a fully powered Materioptikon capable of ranking against the Dream King's.

[General Information] Name: Ian Paul Wickes Nicknames: Poozer, Green Candle, Little Lantern & Human Lantern #1 Titles: The Green Lantern Age: 21 Birthday: 25th March Star Sign: Aries Gender: Male Race: Human Moral Alignment: Good
[Personal Information] Occupation: Student (Video Game Design), Part-Time Bartender, Superhero Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Video Games, Trading Card Games, Drawing, Computers, Social Networking, Sports, Reading, Cooking, Travelling, Driving. Dreams: Ian's ultimate goal is to not only prove himself as a Green Lantern but to also show himself worthy of inheriting Hal Jordan's Legacy. If that fails, he's happy to make a best selling video game. Dislikes: Losing, Bad Video Games, Bad Luck, Superstition, Religion, Being away from Coast City too long, Killawog's Training Methods, Being Afraid, Failing, Missing Classes, Reach Scarabs Fears: Failure, Spiders and Spider-like Features, His Own Limitations, Not Being Able to Save People, Killing Someone, Becoming a Red Lantern Darkest Secret: Ian's darkest secret is probably also his greatest weakness: His inferiority complex. Intelligence Level: Superior Increased Through Mind Palace, 120 IQ Score Dominant Hand: Right-Handed Strengths: Indomitable Will, Imagination, Strategical Thinking, World Knowledge, Compassion, Kindness, Memory, Potential. Weaknesses: Inferiority Complex which in turns leads to fear and explosive rage, Kindness, Compassion.
Cherished Items: ○ Hal's Power Ring: After learning about Hal and all e'd been through from the ring; Ian became quite attached to it and admired Hal for his bravery. Knowing it is all that there is left of such a great hero, Ian will defend it with his life.
Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint: Ian is very much a believer in the fact that Void Earth needs heroes, even though he wouldn't have chosen himself as one. However, he believes that if he can set an example to the people; they might follow him into brighter days and in doing so one day not need heroes of a god-like calibre. + He has also come to believe that NO ONE is beyond saving.
"There is always time for that [Grief]. Forget the consequences, forget what side you're on and with as much power as I have... I can fall like Nathaniel did. Any of us can. I'm not unable to face up to the consequences, I'm terrified of them, as I should be..." - Ian Wickes, Battle for Coast City
Even though these two personalities seem to be so different they are beginning to overlap and mould into one overall personality each side taking on traits of the other when needs be such as Ian having confidence in his study or the Green Lantern showing humility in his powers.
After the Reign of Fear and his battle with Nathaniel Grant, Ian has been finding it hard not only to deal with his grief but with the fact he killed someone.
These feelings eventually culminated in him exploding with anger and channelling Red Energy through his ring somehow. Although he was healed of this energy, the Blue Light of Hope managed to instil a sense of Hope and confidence within Ian that hasn't totally got rid of his complex yet but is helping him overcome it. What lingers of the Red Energy does scare him though and he has become a lot more aware of the rage burning in the pit of his stomach.
Superman's disappearance had left Metropolis defenceless and very susceptible to the yellow flame of fear.
It wasn't long before Ian came up against a real threat in the form of Nathaniel Grant, Earth's first rawly recruited [as in not already a Green Lantern] Sinestro Corps member.
This grief made him once again argue with Abdi and after telling Abdi he wasn't worty of J'onnz Legacy fled Earth and made his way to Oa.
But going to Oa wasn't as soothing as he thought it might be. Ian was delusional, seeing Nathaniel Grant and talking to him for hours in Oa's Orbit even though he thought he was on Earth's Moon. It took Salaak to hail him to snap him out of it and eventually he was called into the Guardians' chamber. It was there that he met the inheritor of Guy Gardener's ring: Morgan Freeman.
Ian wasn't sure how to react to Morgan's appointment at first. Part of him was happy he would finally have another human around to help him out, another seemed to distrust the Guardians' motives. The latter was the case. The Guardians soon revealed that Morgan had had a lot less time training than Ian had been forced to undertake and was told that he should "take a break" from his ring wielding duties and leave Sector 2814 in Morgan's hands. Obviously, Ian took this as the Guardians replacing him and left Oa bitter and betrayed by even his most prominent of supporters within the council: Sayd and Ganthet.
But he did take their advice. Taking a break from his duties as a Green Lantern, Ian actually seemed to put some semblance of a life back together. He was going to class and handing in work and he didn't even really miss his space-cop duties; however, this peace was shattered when Ian's dorm was attacked by Atrocitus in an attempt to find Earth's new Green Lantern. Ian came in time to save some people but ultimately the dorm was destroyed and had left Ian homeless. Blaming himself for the events that transpired at his dorm, Ian was close to giving up being a superhero for good before the intervention of Darius and Michael Kent the Superboy convinced him otherwise.
Unknowingly to him however, Atrocitus had not only aimed to make aim homeless but to also corrupt him. The Red Behemoth had left a small amount of Red Energy inside the Lantern's power battery in order to sew the seeds of Rage within him. Every time Ian would charge his ring, the Red Energy would leak out into Ian along with the Green and slowly but surely make him worthy of a Red Ring. However, what Atrocitus did not count on was the intensity of Ian's inner rage that he always had within him. Ian was pretty much always pissed off with himself for not being good enough, so this coupled with the Red Energy made Ian's transformation dangerously quicker. As soon as he charged, he began to act strangely and flew off the handle when he found out his "replacement" Morgan had organized a press conference and revealed himself to be the Green Lantern.
Ian then proceeded to add to an already intense situation by lashing out in anger at Morgan during the conference. It took the Blue Lantern Anya Summers to stop him from fully submitting to the Red Energy. But even though he has been cured, Ian has been changed forever and whether that is a good or bad thing is yet to be decided.
○ Darius Allen | Legacy | Best Friend Darius Allen is a dimensional traveler who came looking for his "Uncle" Hal Jordan but instead found Ian.
After the dorm was destroyed leaving the two of them homeless, Ian and Darious really opened up to one and other. This conversation not only stopped Ian from quitting being a Green Lantern but made him also realize that Darius is probably his best friend.
○ Alistair Zakarius | Good | Acquaintances Alistair Zakarius came to Taliana's apartment after the fight with Nathaniel Grant to see if Ian was okay, which he appreciates but he doesn't really know anything about the kid, so is remaining vigilant for now.
○ Michael "Superboy" Kent | Good | Friends/ Example Having always known Michael as one of the popular kids from MetU, it came as a bit of a shock to Ian when just before the Reign of Fear Michael also revealed himself to be the new Superboy. Unsure of how to react at first, Ian kept Michael at arm's length but after Ian's dorm was blown up Michael did save him and Darius. What's more is he also helped Ian and Darius come to terms with things; stopping Ian from giving up his Green Lantern duties and making Darius feel better about himself. For these things, Ian is grateful and also admires Michael for it wishing to one day be like the Superboy.
○ A.J Summers | Blue Lantern Corps | Friends/ Colleagues Anya saved Ian from himself, he owes her one but most of all Ian admires A.J's penchant for seeing the good in people, even Morgan. He can't help but feel like they're friends and they should look after one and other as best they can; because lord knows that Ian could have done with someone when he first recieved his ring.
Enemies: ○ Nathaniel Grant | Sinestro Corps/ Deceased | Enemies/ Rivals/ Friend Nathaniel Grant is the newest Yellow Lantern of Sector 2814 and has made his intentions clear after attacking Ian and besting him in combat. Ian felt slightly betrayed when it was revealed that Nathaniel was human but also felt sorry for him, determined not only to beat him but to save him from the Yellow Light of Fear.
Ian accidentally killed Nathaniel during the Reign of Fear event and has felt guilt about it ever since even going as far to have flashbacks and panic attacks whenever the event comes to mind. Ian is also further saddened by the event because in his dying breathes Nathaniel not only redeemed himself but also showed Ian how similar the two of them were. Because of this, Ian has become extra vigilante and critical about himself, trying his hardest to make Nathaniel proud of him.
○ Abdi'Karim Ghedi | Martian Manhunter Legacy | Heated Having already got off on the wrong foot after Abdi basically said Ian was "replaceable" in Taliana's Apartment; Ian and Abdi's relationship took a turn for the worst in the aftermath of Nathaniel Grant's death. Sickened by Abdi's cold demeanor at apparent acceptance of the untold destruction and death Ian not only almost put on Nathaniel's Qwardian Ring but also told Abdi that he wasn't worthy of the Martian Manhunter's Legacy if he believed that killing people was the right thing to do.

○ Unique Energy Construct Properties:
○ Mind Palace: Once cleared of the Rage inside him by Anya, Ian was given a fair amount of Hope in himself. This allowed him to unlock he next stage to his Eidetic Memory: The Mind Palace. The Mind Palace is a way in which high-functioning people can store copious amounts of information and recall it almost instantaneously. However, for Ian it requires immense concentration and clarity but with training could be done under a great amount of pressure.
Ian's Mind Palace takes the form of a computer with multiple drives and files dedicated to any knowledge he has learnt. It is by opening these files that he can recall and use the information inside to help him.
○ Tactical Analysis: Already intelligent and creative, it took Anya's cleansing of Ian to make him realize that he actually was quite the tactician. Since then, his tactical abilities have sky-rocketed but he is still somewhat hesitant to apply it within a group situation.
Ian is still somewhat hesitant about Beetle Scarabs and their effect on him, however, Ian's healing process has made him able to control himself better around them.
○ Rage Inducement: Ever since being infected with the Red Light of Rage, Ian's body has changed slightly in it's reaction to his own anger. Whether it is a physical or mental thing is unsure but Ian's body now seems very vulnerable to any type of Rage Inducement. It seems as though after realizing Ian's Rage gives him power, instead of dampening his rage like it used to and turning it inward; Ian's body now amplifies it outwards making him quick to anger and irritate. Ian does have some control over it obviously and it hasn't really changed his personality but unlike before where he could hold it in indefinitely there is now a limit to how far he is willing to roll over and take someone's crap.
○ New Found Confidence: Ian's new found confidence isn't a problem for the reason you might think; it isn't because he's too reckless it is fact because he is too careful. Ian's new found confidence scares him. He doesn't want to land himself in a situation that could put himself or others in danger and as such he will often second guess himself. This in turn makes his willpower falter.

[General Information] Name: Ian Paul Wickes Nicknames: - Titles: Green Lantern Age: 22 Birthday: 6th October Star Sign: Libra Gender: Male Race: Human Moral Alignment: Good
[Personal Information]
Occupation: Student, Part-Time Computer Technician and Superhero Sexuality: Heterosexual Likes: Computer Games, Drawing, Reading, Music, Quiet Discussion, Learning New Skills and Computers whether using or fixing them. Dreams: Ian's life long goal is to publish a best-selling console game. He makes one of Indie projects every now and then but he wants bigger and better things. He also hopes to one day find his Dad. Dislikes: Arguing, Rudeness, PC Master Race People, Stuff Breaking, Losing Stuff, Lies and Arrogance. Fears: Never finding his Father; Not measuring up to expectations; and losing his way. Darkest Secret: Ian's not really one for secrets but since his Dad's disappearance he has been finding it hard to live up to being the man of the house as well as a superhero. Favourite Food: Mexican Food Favourite Drink: Cherry Coke Least Favourite Food: Sweet Potato Least Favourite Drink: Red Bull Loyalties: [Your Character's Personal Loyalties] Intelligence Level: 150, Superior Above Genius Intelligence Dominant Hand: Right Strengths: Creative, Calm, Confident, Modest, Social, Smart and a Natural Leader. Weaknesses: Ian's Modesty can be found annoying and get in his way.
Cherished Items: ○ Hal Jordan's Power Ring: Ian actually holds Hal's Power Ring in high regard and cherishes it. He understands the fact that the ring is a huge responsibility. It is also the one thing left of Hal Jordan and Ian knows very well what it means to preserve the traces of someone or their memory.
○ Wickes Family Watch: As the name implies, this watch has been in the Wickes Family for generations. It has had more replacement parts and has probably cost each wearer more than it is worth in terms of straps and pins. However, with it being the last thing that Ian's Father gave to him before he disappeared; Ian is more than willing to put up with any cost the watch may incur. Some would even infer that he'd even lay his life down to make sure it was on his wrist.
Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint: If Ian ever had a mantra that he lived by, it would be: "Substance over Style." In this case, Style meaning outward appearance or outside circumstances. Whether your white, black, gay, straight, poor or rich; Ian will care for you as long as you have a good heart. If you don't? Well, don't expect Ian to give you his time.
Religious Viewpoint: Ian was always brought up in a Christian household. They said grace. They went to Church on Sundays. However, Ian always personally had doubts about the existence of God; a doubt that was made even stronger when his Father disappeared and an intergalactic piece of jewelry hijacked him from his bedroom. The correct term to define his beliefs is probably "agnostic".
Romantic Viewpoint: Due to his modesty, Ian doesn't really talk to pretty girls because he believes them to be out of his league and even if he did, pretty wouldn't be what he was aiming for. Ian is a very firm believer in "Soul Mates" and as such, doesn't just stroll in and out of relationships. He tries his best and wants to find someone who connects with him on a deeper emotional level. He wants the kind of love that keeps people breathing; not the kind that you can throw away.
Personality Ian is a lot of good things: Funny, smart, generous, honest, sociable and overall a nice person. The problem is that you will never hear Ian say any of these things about himself. Quiet and reserved with wisdom beyond his years; Ian is modest almost to a fault. No one is quite sure as to why Ian downplays himself so much when he could use his potential to achieve higher things but some say it is because Ian believes in absolute equality and that one day he may slip up or fail.
And when that does happen, as is in line with his beliefs, he wishes to be treated like everybody else and held accountable. Ian just wants everyone to be treated fairly: whether they were chosen by an intergalactic peacekeeping force; they are the fastest man alive; or are made of steel. Ian seems to be the Gallahad of the Justice League's round Table.
Biography Ian, in a nutshell, had a boring life. The eldest son of two loving parents, Ian wanted for nothing as his Father worked tirelessly as a Doctor to keep the good people of Coast City healthy; his Mother stayed at home raising him as she should and, eventually, Ian became the eldest of three siblings. All three being boys. Ian, Allan and Gary.
Ian was a responsible older brother to his two younger siblings and all three idolized their Father, Melvin, for many different reasons. Ian admired him for his kind down to Earth nature and thus tried to emulate his modesty; Allan admired him for his strength and thus took up boxing; and finally, Gary admired his Father's knack with people and tried his hardest to be kind and friendly to everyone that he met. The three boys were the apple of their parents' eyes and they continued to grow up in the ways that they had chosen with little to no interference from their Mother and Father. Ian though, continued to excel at seemingly everything (much to the chagrin of his brothers) but due to his modesty downplayed his abilities somewhat and even hid them from others (annoying his brothers further).
Things continued like this for some time, the three brothers fought and made up and fought and made up until they were all young men. Ian was starting college by the time the three of them had all moved out to do their own thing; even Gary who was so young had started his own business as a handy-man and moved up by the time Ian's boxes left his parents house. Allan was making a name for himself in the local Boxing Circuit and was soon to be turning professional any time now. All seemed to be going well in the Wickes Camp.
That was until the first event that made Ian's life interesting...
It all began when Ian came out of a lecture to his Dad waiting for him. He said that the two of them would go pick up Gary from his new apartment on the other side of Coast City and then drive to the arena to see Allan's first professional fight. Ian was excited that after spending a lot of time studying, he would finally get to spend some more time with his family. so, he got in the car and the two of them hit the road to get to Gary's.
They talked for hours about what had been happening in everyone's lives, girls and all that normal Father son stuff but when Ian thought he saw a shooting star fall into the water by the Marina; he had to ask his Father to stop the car and go check it out. So, naturally, they did and Ian ran off onto the pier to try and get a closer look. Melvin looked nervously at the green glowing sea whilst Ian (ever curious) stared in amazement at the bubbling neon coloured water. Lots of people were lined up next to the two of them taking videos and photos on their phones. But when Ian woke up on his back an indeterminable amount of time later; the pier was on fire and Melvin George Wickes was nowhere to be seen.
No one was quite sure what happened that day. To most, one minute there was a pier and the next minute it was gone. Ian though, tried to rack his brain for what might have happened to his Father for even at the funeral (there wasn't a body to bury but after a year of no success, it was time to admit that Melvin was gone) Ian swore blind that his Father couldn't be dead. Saddened by their Brother's emotional outburst, Gary and Allan finally admitted that blamed their older brother for their Father's death. They said if Ian hadn't stopped the car that day that Melvin would still be alive. This horrified Ian and distraught, he left the wake early and went back to University.
Their Mother, however, became a husk of her former self. She was less motivated, less alive and powerless to stop what she deemed was her family falling apart. Eventually, Ian had to move back home in order to help her with her depression and keeping the house. He tried his best as he ran a small computer repair shop in the basement and his brothers helped out how and when they could. But it was mostly Ian, the eldest, who picked up the responsibility of making sure their Mother was clothed and fed.
It stayed like this for years, Ian working and studying whilst Allan and Gary distanced themselves from their crazy Brother and sickly Mother. Allan was busy fighting for big money and Gary was too busy managing a local building contractors. They'd pop by to see their Mother every once in a while and in front of their Mother they'd pretend that they were one big happy family. Yet, the three brothers still couldn't see eye to eye; Ian fought with Gary about the fact that their Father was still alive and Allan fought with both of them physically because he didn't know how to deal with the situation other than to hit the two of them as hard as he could. The Wickes' family home was a warzone now and beyond repair.
After one of these frequent fights, Ian stormed out of the house and went to his Father's "Grave". It was here that his life would change once again. Cue interesting incident number two...
Ian was at his Father's grave, sat with his back against the headstone, venting about the frustrations he felt. He talked about his bothers and how they didn't understand that he remembered something that happened that day; that they didn't know what he knew and even though he was so talented and so bright there was nothing he could do to apparently bring his Father back from wherever he was. Ian even kept repeating a line he heard during the explosion: "No one escapes the Manhunters!"
He didn't know what it meant and he didn't know that elsewhere in Coast City Hal Jordan was disappearing into the nether. Ian looked up towards the sky, his eyes filling with tears, he saw a familiar sight dash across the sky: A green glowing shooting star.
Remembering the pain and loss of the day his Father died and how a shooting star had been the cause of that, Ian got to his feet and into his car to chase the star down. It could have probably went to the ends of the Earth but Ian would still have chased, peddle to the metal, and the same fierce look of determination in his eyes. If there was anyway he could get his Father back and repair his family; he would and he would not fail. It was just lucky for him that he didn't have to chase the Emerald streak far before it crashed in a blaze of glory just outside of Ferris Air Base...
He stood atop the crater that the star made and stared at the glowing object inside. Ian had been ready to face and take on whatever had crashed in the hole but was disappointed to see only a Green Ring, struggling to keep itself glowing, and howling away into the night that it needed to find a new replacement sentient. It almost sounded sad; like a wounded animal trapped in a corner.
Awestruck, Ian put on the ring and with that became the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814.

Enemies: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
Family: ○ Melvin George Wickes | Missing Presumed Dead | Father Ian's Father, Mentor and Hero; Ian and Melvin had a very close relationship before he disappeared (if you believe Ian). Being the last person to see him alive, Ian feels somewhat guilty about his decision to stop resulting in his Dad's disappearance. Even so, Ian continues to hunt down clues to Melvin's whereabouts and holds his family together in his memory.
○ Lynne Wickes | 50 | Mother Ian's widowed Mother. Ian cares for her and lives with her because her grief and depression seem to have gotten the best of her. It saddens Ian that a woman once so noble and glorious has became nothing more than a shell of her former self.
○ Allan Martin Wickes | 20 | Brother If Ian inherited Melvin's "Heart" then the second Wickes sibling inherited his "Strength". A professional boxer, Allan usually deals with things in violent and angry ways and this also applies to Ian. The two of them seem to argue a lot but nowhere near as much as Ian and Gary do. Some say it is because he feels as though Ian is more socially capable than him or even just smarter but Ian knows the real reason. Allan thinks that Ian doesn't work hard enough to help their Mother; which is odd considering Allan doesn't really do anything.
○ Gary Christopher Wickes | 19 | Brother The inheritor of Melvin's "Spirit", Gary has always had a chip on his shoulder and is Ian's main antagonist in their family situation. Vocal, hardworking and somewhat judgmental; Gary gets angry at Ian for continually trying to convince people their Father is alive and just wants his older brother to accept it and help their Mother. They argue a lot and Gary and Allan usually gang up on the eldest.
Ian doesn't like the way Gary speaks to or about their Mother which often causes as many arguments as Ian's refusal of Melvin's death.
Romantic Relationships: ○ Character Name as Url Link | Force They Belong To | Relationship Type Releationship Explanation
○ Technology Savvy: Ian is ery good when it comes to technology in all its forms even being able to learn about and eventually repair alien tech he has encountered on Oa. Specializing mainly in, but not limited to, computers; Ian is a world class hacker and computer engineer. However, he will not show off this skill willingly.
○ Quick Study: Ian has the ability to learn new skills at an alarming rate. He learned how to play guitar to a Grade 8 level in a month and how to professionally mix music in a couple of weeks. Ian loves learning new skills so you may find him occasionally indulging in new "hobbies".
○ Genius Intellect: Although not obvious (more through hiding than contrary traits), Ian is a genius. He has a high IQ score and is very intelligent.
○ Tactical Analysis: Ian is very tactical in his approach to things both in a fight and in a conversation. Even when coming in with a preplanned strategy, Ian is able to adapt and flawlessly change his style as time goes on. It seems as though the young man is setting up to be a strategic genius.
[Weakness Information] ○ Mental Instability Protocol: Drug use, neural interference, vertigo or other forms of mental incapacitation can render the wearer unable to use their ring, rendered useless.
○ Modesty: Ian's Modesty can be a barrier to his Green Lantern powers. His will falters and he will often hold himself back in attempts to stay grounded; as such, he is not quite accessing his full potential.
○ Hal's Memory: The memory of Hal haunts Ian to no end. Knowing what it's like to hold onto something, Ian either refuses to believe or doesn't believe he is as good as Hal Jordan. The same sort of thing happened to Wally West when he took over the mantle of The Flash from Barry Allan. It wasn't until Wally believed he could surpass Barry that he accessed his full potential and the same is most likely true for Ian in regards to Hal.
○ Father's Memory: Ian's Father was a huge figure in his life and his disappearance left a huge hole in Ian. The thought of his Father being dead actually destroys Ian inside and the memory of the day he found out can be used against him to make his will falter.
