Aulii smiled as he sprawled and stretched between the cool sand and the warm sun. It was just like any other day back home, sleeping on the beach, waking up to surf, some more sleep, maybe a drink or some tropical fruit. This was truly the life. Aulii let himself slowly wake up, raised his torso from the sand, stretched a little bit more, then looked to his right where his surfboard always slept beside him. Aulii smiled, expecting to be smiling at his surfboard. Where was his surfboard? Aulii got onto all four, crawling around the beach, looking and feeling for his board. He finally stopped, realizing that it wasn't here. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOoooooOOOoooooooooOOOO!" He called out, loud enough that it would've disturbed any life on the small island. Someone had stolen it, his precious surfboard. Aulii glared at the sand, angry at the world. Was it possible he had misplaced it? Absolutely NOT! He sat in the sand on his butt, holding his head between his hands in a moping state, now he was going to have to make a new one.

With so many pae, Zana had largely kept to herself after her initial run around in the casino. She stayed on the boat during the excursion out, and had been more than happy to stay in her room when they returned. The argument however had been decidedly...worrisome. Was it really that bad? Her initial reaction was to try and apologize for the whole of the group but...well, her anti-social tendencies tended to be more than a mere roadblock. They were downright crippling. So she stayed in her room, dinnerless now because she couldn't summon the courage to go to the dining room without Vash and there was no room service without the fairies. To ignore the hunger, she instead decided to sleep through the night.
That was until, she was rather rudely awakened by a sudden noise, and coldness. Her pale pink eyes flashed open as her body flailed. She was in the water? How? What was going on? Her door had been ripped open from the force of the sea, engulfing her room with blinding speed. Unprepared, she had very little air in her lungs. It was her curse to be on one of the exterior rooms - why the door had sprung open. But it was also a blessing as she was out of the boat as soon as she swum out. The currents however, would not let it be such an easy task. As soon as she left her room, a powerful force pushed her down deeper into the water. Her lungs quickly burned up the little bit of air her body had breathed in before the crash. Her world was darkening as she was pulled ever deeper into the sea...
~~~~~
'Noooooooo!' A heart wrenching, unfathomably distressed voice of utmost despair pierced the air, reaching the delicate ears of Zana. It pulled her from the blackness of sleep, urging her pale eyes to flick open once more. "Puh!" Her lungs buckled and she started violently coughing up the water which had slipped in, her body curling up in recoil. The boat...I can't believe it... It was mind boggling. As her coughing subsided, she simply laid on the ground as her mind raced. The cold, cold water, the screaming of pae, the darkness which awaited. Painfully fresh memories of horror. She could barely handle the overload, and turned her thoughts off to mindlessly stare into the distance. This...this must be shock...
[and they have food!]
Aulii was ripped away from his moment of silence for his surfboard by the sound of coughing coming from nearby. Aulii, looked over and saw the bright pink pae laying there in the sand. Thoughts of his surfboard went away, he wasn't so stupid that he would ask her if she knew who took it when she was clearly struggling.
"Hey... dude? Dudette?" Aulii questioned the pae as he slowly walked up and towards her. As Aulii was walking he noticed the unfamiliarity of the sand, much finer than the sand that was his home. This... wasn't his beach. Aulii's head started to hurt, brought on by him suddenly getting up, it felt almost like a hangover and like maybe he had hit his head on something a few times. "Oh geeze..." Aulii was starting to remember the events of the previous day, starting with him relaxing on the beach, enjoying way too many drinks provided by the excellent service of the fairies. Then came the evening though and he didn't remember much of that except for getting back onto the boat. But he did get on the boat, so what was he doing here? "How in the... how did I get here..." he mumbled to himself.
Aulii remembered the girl and looked down at her again, kneeling beside her. "You okay?"
Alright, so maybe Aulii had been too forward, dudettes had never seemed to have a problem with it before. She seemed to appreciate the space, so Aulii took a few more paces backwards before sitting down "indian style" and leaning on one arm. "So... you from around here?" Aulii asked, not sure what else to say or where to even begin. Maybe he shouldn't even bother with the silent girl in front of him, she certainly was detracting from figuring out what in guardians' name was going on here.
Aulii ran his hand through the sand thoughtfully, since she wasn't going to talk to him, he wasn't going to talk to her. Instead he decided to ponder on the situation he was currently in. Of course, Aulii wasn't very good at pondering over much except for surfing, chicks, and drinks. He glanced around and shook his head sadly once he saw that none of the nice little drink-toting fairies were around. Thinking about drinks made Aulii suddenly realize how thirsty he was, the salty air was getting to him. "Well... you've been great company..." Aulii said it genuinely, despite not feeling that way, "but I'm going to go try and... survive... and stuff..." Survive? What was this, what happened to his relaxing retreat?
Aulii was surprised when the girl spoke. Sure, he had tried to bait her into talking, but he hadn't expected it to work. So she was scared? That was understandable, at least being scared of the situation. Aulii couldn't understand why she might have been scared of him, the last thing he was going to do was be frightened of the only other pae on an island with him. If she was evil... well there wasn't much that could be done since they were the only ones, from what he could tell.
Honestly, Aulii wasn't all that frightened, more confused than anything else. He wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life living in a place like this. Might be nice, far away from the drama of Telrunya. Could relax and surf as he pleased. Assuming he had the things he needed to survive, that was. That was the part that scared him, food, water, and a place to hide from any ill-weather. Water first. "I don't think there is anything to be frightened of... I know its kind of strange... but I don't think this place is too different from home, as long as we can find what it takes to survive, it doesn't look like a bad place here." He relayed his thoughts to the girl.
Aulii nodded his head in agreement, it had been his plan as well. It wasn't as if he would truly have deserted her, it was too small of an island to just leave the girl be. If she had died, it would have basically been his fault... sort of... "I'm going to see if anything else showed up..." Aulii said, as if he was going to do that all by himself, though it probably wasn't going to happen that way, the girl had said she was scared after all. She could follow if she wanted, Aulii didn't mind, two sets of eyes were better then one. He began to comb the sand, walking around the perimeter of the island with his new companion.
She nodded back, seeing the sense in that. But meeting yet another strange pae? Not something she exactly looked forward to. When he started walking, she followed a few steps behind, and a few more steps more inland. Close enough if something dangerous arose, but far enough that they were looking at two different sections of beach. And at this distance, she could muster to glance at the male every so often to get a good look. An angel, like Vash. Angels were generally the nicer sort of pae she ran into. Kind of cute, in a bright and cheerful way. His coloring was certainly loud and proud. Her pale eyes flicked from him and back to the sand. There was something...shiny in the distance. Very shiny. When she finally reached it, only a corner was sticking up out of the sand. The demonic knelt and dug the thing out. "A flask..." She murmured to herself, running her fingers over the dent. That could be useful to keep water. Not that it was nearly big enough to keep a useful amount in it, but it was something.
Aulii was stealing glances too, it was an interesting situation, that was for certain, being stuck on this island together. They had been so worried about everything that had happened, that was happening, that they hadn't even bothered to get to know the other pae there. Did he even know her name? He wasn't sure that he did, he didn't remember any time where they might have exchanged names.
"My name is Aulii." He told her, perhaps that would make her less frightened of him if she even had his name. His eyes widened as something seemed to draw the female's attention. "Did you find something?" he asked excitedly, so far the beach had seemed pretty empty, anything would be welcomed.
Aulii could have sighed, this was going to be difficult. What was this chick's issue? He couldn't have been stuck on an island with someone a bit more outgoing so that he didn't go cuckoo, he'd probably be better off talking to a volleyball, whatever that was. He looked at the flask, seeming to remember it being one of the prizes at the game place, he hadn't won anything, but at least they had it now, "Good find Zana." He was trying to be encouraging, trying to draw her out of her seashell, but it was difficult. "You should hold onto that," Aulii began combing the beach again, hoping to find anything else, the flask was a good sign, maybe they would find something else from the ship.
