After meeting a few... interesting creatures roaming around, she was expecting more weird... uh. Stuff. Something that floated so silently however, caught her a million-per-cent off guard.
The way it looked, the way it kept staring... well. She got the shivers just looking at it. The fact it was going to try and take a swing at her though, that was enough to spur her into action.
How a feather fan could do damage, she wasn't entirely sure. Yet as she swung towards the creepy floating creature, she managed to get a good hit to its puffed up body. Winced a little as it's claws snagged on the scales of her wings, but as she danced back from it's range she was at least relieved to see it hadn't hit the membrane. Now how to best take this thing down....

Andie was not expecting anything like the creature that Viae was attacking. He stared at it for a moment like he was trying to figure out what it was then jump into help her out. He kicked out at the creature, scoring a direct hit. "You sure know how to pick them!" He called to Viae. Zanna had not yet encountered any of these creatures, and was a bit alarmed by what she did see.
Perhaps she didn't understand why, but the creature struck a considerable amount of terror into her, almost enough to make her fumble and drop her weapon. That wasn't particularly useful, was it? She needed to get it together and help these other people who seemed to be suffering against it. She couldn't let anyone else get hurt, especially by something that moved so silently and seemed to strike with such precision.
Determined to protect them, Zanna attempted to swing her weapon out.
Ha, success! Zanna couldn't help the small grin of pride that spread on her grey lips.
"I'll try to help you two out. It seems rather dangerous out here..."

Two things happened in rather quick succession that her brain took a moment to fully process them. The first? Someone else struck the hovering creature she was combating.... and then spoke to her.
It was the voice that made her give a snarling groan. Great. "You," she hissed, making sure she was well out of the creature's range after he'd kicked it. "Do you like sending monsters after me?" Not that she'd gotten it by it this time, but she was still holding quite the grudge from that.
"And clearly, I just have better taste than you," she added in response to his commentary. One might have called her tone teasing.
Before she could really take another hit at the creature, a second figure came up and took a whack at it. This one was unfamiliar to her though, and female. Viae frowned a little at the tall female, though she took in the blue core with a hint more acceptance. She at least gave her a nod of acceptance when the woman offered her assistance. "If you're competent with that," she gestured to the blade the woman held, "then your assistance is appreciated."
Well. At least her voice wasn't hostile. That might have been Viae's attempt at being nice.
Turning towards the creature though, she lashed out with her own fan--yes, she was aware she'd gotten the same thing she'd sneered at Andie using--and managed to only get a glancing blow on her shoulder as she struck the figure's arm as it tried to attack her in turn. Three on one. Should be promising at least.

Andie looked over to see the new person joining them and gave a quick grin. "Thanks for the help!" He said and spun kicked the creature before backing off to get more space between him and the creepy creature. He looked over to Viae and gave a hurt look. "It was one time. One time!" He wound never admit to the pout on his face. Ever. Hearing the obvious noises of battle, shouts, clanks and the such, Wyng rushed over to see if she could help. Unfortunately, as she turned the corner, she was caught by a surprise attack and was unable to counter very well. It seemed that the two she came across already knew each other, with some of the back and forth they were shooting at each other. Zanna could not help the giggle that came to her lips, though she tried not to show too much amusement lest it irritate either party. The point of this was not to become amused by the people she was helping, anyway. The point of this was to get this dangerous monster down before it did any more damage.
To the other woman, she offered a friendly smile in greeting, especially when she realized that her core beat blue in the same way hers did. It was enough to grant her a bit more immediate liking than it did to the man, who had a striking yellow core of Paranoia, but Zanna was not someone who held any particular malice to anyone, a generally neutral character whose main concern at the moment was making sure no one ended up hurt.
When the woman commented on her skill with the weapon, Zanna offered a soft, "I hope not to disappoint," before turning her attention to the slient, creeping monster in front of them.
When she swung and made another successful hit, she couldn't help the pride that swelled. Success! She nodded to the one with the yellow heart, a genial smile on her face. "I'm glad to help. It's dangerous, and I think we'll get more done if we work together."
It seemed someone else had the same idea as her, and Zanna watched as someone else took a swing at the monster.

The fact Andie had that kind of an expression on his face made Viae purse her lips, trying her best not to laugh. "Once is apparently all it takes with you," she shot back, entertained by this... bickering? She wasn't sure why it amused her as much as it did.
With a faint smile on her lips, she rose a brow to find the other woman was also laughing. At them? The fact she wasn't offended astounded her, but she chocked it up to the kinship she felt with another blessed by Longing. At the very least, she laughed outright in a quick bark. Didn't want to disappoint, as she struck the damn thing. "Oh you're doing more than fine," she assured her with a smirk.
Stepping back towards the creature, she ducked a little as it scraped her upper arm with its claws, finally taking notice of the fourth figure to step into the fray. Another woman, this time with a red core. "Watch yourself," she snipped, moving somewhat towards her and taking a swing with her fan into the creature's face. Didn't seem to do much damage, but it at least seemed a little dazed by feathers in its face for a few seconds.
Taking a second look at the woman with the red core, she did a double take at what she held. Then smirked. "Nice daggers." Well weren't those sweet looking blades~?

Andie grinned in the direction of the newest newcomer to the battle and added a quick wave. "Definitely a sound strategy there." He respond to Zanna. Relieved that her fellow blue-hearted did not seem offended, Zanna couldn't help the relief when she heard another bark of laughter from her. Good. At least her giggling did not cause any offense. At the compliment to her skill, though, her relief faded into a small blush of pride, a warmth rushing to her cheeks of blue that left her fidgeting just a bit. "Ah, thank you!"
Zanna had never really thought of herself as terribly good at battling, but of course, she never really thought about being good at much anything involving weaponry at all. Perhaps this was where her usefulness would lie, as a goddess? Helping those out in battle. It was a wonderful thought, but she couldn't let herself grow distracted as they fought.
She nodded to the yellow-hearted as he agreed with her "sound" strategy, before biting on the inside of her lip slightly as she attempted not the giggle at the look that the yellow-hearted was sending to her kindred. She had to admit, the little bickering they were having was enough to bring a smile to her face, but this was very much not the time to be losing focus like she was. It was time to fight.
The fact that the monster was approaching her reminded her of that much. She put her defenses up, attempting to resist the damage while throwing another swing at the monster.
The hit she made this time did not quite seem to make as much of a dent, and perhaps she could blame that on distraction. Zanna needed to focus better. This was not the time to lose her focus on the situation at hand. Right.

It felt considerably odd to her to be so damn social in a fight... but at the same time, she found it difficult to just shut up and fight.
Never had she seen so many bodies in one area. That didn't help.
The kicked puppy look... actually made her wince a bit. Her shoulders slumped, wings curled towards her body a little. And for a moment, she actually wanted to just... pat his shoulder. That was all she was going to admit to on that. Bristling a bit, she snapped out a quick, "Fine fine. Just keep fighting and prove you're worth the air to forgive!"
It bothered her how much a sad look could affect her. Really bothered her though, how much she wanted to just... coddle him for it.
The woman next to her though was a fine distraction. Watching how the daggers sliced the creature made her grin wickedly, tail lashing behind her in bloody appreciation. "They're lovely in many ways. My thanks for the assistance against this... thing, with them." Really, the thing was fading. Fast. The four of them against it seemed to have it in a tizzy, though each of them kept gaining their own bumps and bruises and gashes.
The handle of her weapon was slammed into the creature's head as it seemed to linger near Zanna, and for her efforts the thing back handed her in the ribs. Viae let out a grunt at the impact, but sneered to see it shaking its head so violently. Was it just her, or was it floating a little lower than before? "I dare say we're killing it," she laughed, glancing between the other three gathered.

"Very nice! Where can I get a pair?" He said more then asked Wyng with a smile. "A fan is an ok weapon but dagger would be better." Andie's puppy look instantly disappeared at Viae's response. "Sure, sure. Not a problem!" He said cheerfully and kicked the creature before doing a neat little cartwheel away from any damage to his person. He would never tell her how utterly amusing it was to poke at her so to speak.
