The name's Axel...
Or maybe it's a mattress problem. For as long as I could remember I have always gone to bed itching. And when I finally get to sleep and wake up in the middle of the night, it takes me a while to get back to sleep again because I am itching again or at least I can feel it since I am awake.
We have a dog and I chalk it up to fleas but my sister who is hardly ever here because of school swear up and down that that is not the problem because she "checks" him. Even though she knows he doesn't get regular baths.
I don't believe her because I am at the one who still lives at home and is with the dog all the time.
I just washed my sheets and even vacuumed my bed some days ago and the first night it was okay but I am still itching again. I think I might need a new mattress. They seem to be pricey though even though I do make around three hundred bucks.
I was thinking for the time being to get some itching cream or something. But on Amazon I saw something about mattress toppers. I don't know what much help they would be.
What do you suggest?

No, we have had him since 1998. And I don't let him in my room anymore.

That doesn't stop anything, as communal places allow for the transfer of the protein that causes allergic reactions. It also doesn't stop you from developing allergies later.
I, too have doubts that it's fleas, as fleas aren't really alive for very long, and flea creams can get them off of dogs without baths. Not to mention, presumably, you bathe regularly.
There's also the possibility that it's the sheets (did you get new ones recently?), the fabric softener used in the dryer (if you use one), something in the mattress (memory foam mattresses and mattress toppers tend to produce weird reactions from people, usually after a month), or something with the bed itself.
So...the best way to narrow things down is to figure out when it started happening, and what changed around that time.
I'm not a doctor, nor do I really know your living situation, so all I can do is conjecture.

Well as far as the comforter goes, I have had it for years.....maybe five? My parents brought it for me. As for the thin sheets I got new ones last year and my sister gave me one she doesn't use and that is currently the one I use.
I really don't think it's an allergic reaction. Each time I'm in bed it feels like something is crawling on me and I always see bumps pop up around my arms.

Then the only thing I can suggest is to figure out what's wrong through single elimination. If that doesn't work, up the number of changes per night to two.
