In between fights, between flurries of activity and pain, Rojand had been wandering the ruins, a sense of anxious urgency ticking slowly upward in the gold glow of his heart. He couldn't be with others all the time. It made him angry, sullen, unhappy; but being away for too long did the same thing. He didn't know why. It was reassuring to discard that question for the now-familiar edge of aggression as he stabbed his sword down into a crunching thing, ignoring the claws that sliced at his leg. He saw Licraesa across the streets and he recognized her not by her core or her shape but by the way she moved, with more self-assured agility than he would, he was sure, ever be the owner of. The guns came out, almost instinctively. He wanted to kill something in front of her. He wanted to show her that it wasn't just faith that got you through weakness. Sometimes it was your own ******** sense of self-preservation. He emptied a round into the shambling creature, and shot Rojand, too, a look that dared him to say anything even though he had no reason to shoot him any look at all. Rojand gave the woman a smile that was somewhere between friendly and toothy. "Now we have." He sank the point of the sword into the thing again, flicking a glance at the other figure who'd appeared out of the ruins to take a shot at it also. "I'm Rojand," he offered after he'd pulled the blade loose and stepped back from the flailing claws. When Wyng saw a couple of beings that she had met before being attacked by a monster, she decided to help out, but she wanted to enter the battle in style. Trying a tactic she had used before and had worked out well, Wyng ran up to the roof of a nearby building and jumped down at the monster, putting the full force of the fall into her blow. She expected it to hurt the creature. What she did not expect was for it to crumple under her blow and fall dead before her. "Sorry?" Rojand's eyebrows arched at the newcomer who'd made a rather spectacular entrance and kill. "The point was to kill it. I don't see why you're apologizing." He poked at the broken remains with the tip of his sword, teasing out shining bits, and tucked the prize away into his pockets.

"Some see it as rude tae arrive an' kill a creature they were attackin'." Wyng explained, also sifting through the creature's remains for her reward. Picking up two objects, she put them in her pocket. Her pocket probably would not hold much more inside with all the items she was picking up.

"Ah!! Well thank you!" Lin rubbed the back of her head a bit embarrassed. "Better to have offed it quickly than for us all to get wiped out by it. I wasn't doing terribly well." She scooped up some of the things the monster had dropped. "I'd rather you be 'rude' and us alive than the alternative."

And then he stood, for a long few seconds, where the thing had fallen, and he searched the ground as though he were trying to memorize it, before he turned to go as silently as he'd come.
