Rime turned the empty pouch over in her hands a few times while heading down in the direction that the goddess had told her to go. It left a odd feeling her in stomach to be sent off to go and retrieve a heart from someone. The scissors in her hands felt dirty, and she had been tempted to just turn back and not complete the task. How could someone not need their heart anymore? What did she mean when she said they didn't make it? Did they fail a test and that was their punishment or something? Her mind kept leaping from one thing to another, and at this point it was mostly the worry of failing that kept her from turning back. The goddess hadn't seemed unforgiving... but seeing as no one really knew anything about anything in this world, there was no telling what might happen.
Once inside, Rime spotted the three gates there, waiting. There had been no instructions as to which one to take, so she chose the one that seemed a little less intimidating than the others that was marked with a pumpkin.

She continued forwarded and through the door, peering down the hallway a little while keeping a eye out for this heart she was supposed to collect. The goddess had said things were cluttered down here, so there was no telling what might be down there.
A light humming sound could be heard and it felt a bit familiar, though it was hard to pin point exactly why but she didn't spend much time thinking on it as a image came to mind of pumpkins. Pumpkins with glowing smiles, and then nothing. Well this is different..., she mused, some what surprised to hear voices up ahead. They sounded familiar almost, and she couldn't help but smile for some reason while continuing to head farther into the room. The door shutting firmly behind her might have been a little more cause for concern if Rime hadn't been so interested in seeing what else was actually in there now.
It was bright... a lot brighter than she'd have thought a place like this would be. One assumed a few things when sent out on a mission to collect a heart of all things. That in its self was a odd request, though she wasn't sure why she thought that. It just fit though. Everywhere she looked there were glowing, smiling pumpkins, the same kind that she'd seen for a brief second a moment ago. Pausing for a moment to bend down and take a closer look didn't reveal much about them, so on she went down the path farther into the room. This place was massive, so Rime was beginning to wonder what all of these were if this was considered cluttered. Best not to think too much on it and just get done quickly.
At the end of the path, there in the middle of the field was a tombstone. "Here lies Maxwell. Wonder who they were to have been given a place here like this." She mused while bending over to take a bit better look at the tombstone.
Thump-thump.
Huh.. that sound. Where was it coming from? Rime stood up and looked around for a moment, though she couldn't hear it any longer. Was it.. was it coming from inside the grave? She leaned down again and held her breath, focusing on the spot in front of her.
Thump-thump.
It is. The heart was right there in front of her, buried some where in the ground. She took the handle of the scissors and started digging in with dirt with them like a shovel, not wanting to run the risk of puncturing it with the sharp end. Carefully moving the dirt around until the heart was exposed, it started to glow a bit as Rime picked it up and carefully placed it in her bad, unable to hear the thumping sound any longer.

Rime began to continue on after tucking the heart safely in the pouch, though it seemed that the scenery was beginning to change again. With a glance downward, the floor appeared to be becoming less solid and after eaching down to touch it briefly, rather squishy and sticky. It was a little alarming, but Rime continued to float onwards, occasionally hearing someone calling out.
"Please give it back."
Her head whipped around, trying to see where the voice was coming from, but there was no one in sight. "Lets just get out of here and back to the goddess." She repeated to herself, clutching the bag to her chest as she continued on. After a while she could feel water creeping up over her torso, not wanting to fly upwards in case there might have been something else waiting for her up there.
Two hands flew up out of the water and grabbed ahold of her, pulling Rime down into the watery depths below. She struggled and tried to escape while holding onto the bag until she felt like it might be too late to get away. Grey eyes stared down at her with a malicious grin. "Give me back my heart."
A memory began to flash before her eyes. She knew this person. Some how they had known one another, maybe in another life?
She's just gotten another text, asking for her to meet him somewhere with some friends. Excitement flooded through her and she raced to get ready to go and out the door, leaving a bit earlier than planned in her excitement. Racing along the streets, she was rounding a corner and was just about to go say hi to the little group there when she heard them talking.
"So does she really come running all the time?"
"Yeah, just like a puppy, it's really pathetic. She should be here anytime now so-"
"You... you jacking son of a... " She choked out, eyes filling up with tears as she turned and took off down the way she'd came. They had been friends... really good friends, or so she'd thought. Was it all a lie? Did he really feel that way about her? Her parents had warned her about getting involved with that family, but she had insisted he was different. Apparently not.
Then the memory ended just as abruptly as it began.

The hate towards this person... creature... kept bubbling up inside her almost as much as the panic and fear of drowning. There was only one way to get out of here, it was either her or them, and with the rush of emotions right now, Rime had no trouble taking her scissors and driving them into the creature. It shrieked and then disappeared some where, taking the water with it some how.
She laid there on the floor, coughing up water and trying to breathe normally before checking to make sure the pouch was still there, reliefed to find that it had never left her hand. Picking herself up, she made her way over towards the light flooding in from a newly appeared door, spotting the figure for a brief moment clenching the scissors tight before leaving.

Day 2 Rime had approached the shine the next day for their task, and listened to the Goddess give her instructions as to what she needed to do. Taking the dagger, with a small nod she turned and headed out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She wasn't quite sure how she got here to begin with, but sometime later Rime found herself waking up feeling rather cold in a bright white room while laying on a metal table. A quick glance around revealed that she was alone for the time being and she let out a small sigh. There might have been someone there... how else would she have gotten here? Would they be coming back soon? Rime didn't want to stick around and find out, pushing herself up and floating off the table towards the door. Poking her head out into the hallway revealed that it was just as empty and bright as the room she woke up in. Which seemed like a plus for the time being, and if someone might be lurking around, at least tey would stand out. Rime slowly started making her way down the hallway when she heard a door slam behind her. However, the door to the room she'd just come from was still open. "hmm... odd..." But on she continued. Eventually there was what seemed to be a exit up ahead and Rime picked up the pace a bit. Though that's when the sounds started. Thud. No one was there, and the doors were still open, but it continued on. Thud. She turned to take another look and suddenly there it was. A black figure standing there just staring at her. She was frozen there as the thing started moving forwards, the same thudding sound rumbling through the room with each step only now there was a screeching sound accompanying it. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be carrying a pair of scissors with it... or dragging would be a more accurate description. Rime wanted to move, but was too afraid, sadly unable to do more than just listen to it move closer and closer. Though after a few moments she could feel a cold chill come over and she began to run, hoping to put some distance between them. Upon reaching the door, she spotted a piece of paper to her left with numbers and letters on them, but had no idea what any of it meant. Feet left: 35

She saw a moment flash before her eyes of her coming and confronting a figure and being quite worked up about something but it was hard to make everything out. It left her feeling upset and quite sad, as if she'd just lost something very important to her.
In the background, the creature kept hissing at her as it loomed in closer.

Rime looked around frantically for anything else that might help and found a piece of bloodstained paper with another code on it. Putting two and two together, she punched in the code and ran out the door.

Everywhere she looked there were grey trees as soon as she made her way outside, but that didn't make a difference it seemed. The creature was still chasing her... taunting her about taking her heart in return for her taking theirs. But she didn't remember doing something like that, how was that even possible? Did she do things while she was asleep, or did it never even happen at all?
After a little while she came upon a bridge and despite the fact that it looked like it couldn't hold one person, let alone too, it was the only way left to go.Slowly but surely Rime began trying to cross the bridge, but it would take only a brief moment for it to be all over. One pause and a brief glance down let her pursuer catch up, not noticing it was too late until she heard a loud snipping sound close by.

This was it... there was no escape and no where left to run.
The creature held her down, paralyzed with fear as she watched the blackened creature move it's scissors closer and closer to her, feeling herself go numb as it cooed in her ear.
"Don't worry... it only hurts once."
Snip.
Snip.
Rime felt a sharp pain in her chest, but it didn't last long and soon she saw the creature standing over her with her heart in its hand, still beating, while in the other were the rusted scissors.
There wasn't much left to say really. Rime didn't understand why the creature hated her so... or why there had been flashes that left her feeling sad and empty inside. Had she really taken this creatures heart before? How was it even still alive if that had been the case? Maybe none of it really happened and it just wanted revenge on someone, anyone, for the sins of another. None of those questions would ever be answered however, as the last bits of life seeped from her body, the last images she saw where of this creature cackling madly as she died.

Day 3
Rime approached the Shine again on the third day, feeling a bit nervous as to what the Goddesses would have her do for this task. The feeling of having her heart cut out still lingered with her every now and then and it wasn't something that she looked forward to repeating.
This one seemed a tad bit friendlier, if not desparate almost, than the others, but the guarded feelings were still there as Rime watched the Goddess pace back and forth, hesitantly taking a cookie when offered. Her offering of being allowed to experience feeling and emotions was not what Rime had been expecting, given the curent trend that the others had followed and accepted the task. With a small bow towards the Goddess, she headed through the portal.
One of the first things Rime noticed upon crossing through the portal was the music playing and the white flakes falling from the sky. It seemed a little odd, but no more so than the table sitting there with two different jars, one blue and one pink. One more welcoming and the other seeming almost sad, she wasn't sure which one to choose, though after giving it a bit of thought, Rime went with the pink jar. There had been enough sadness and pain recently, at least it seemed like there had some how. Picking up the jar, she noticed the small tag on it saying 'Drink Me.' "Hmm... well why not." she sighed, closing her eyes while downing the contents of the jar.
A warm happy feeling seeped through her body and for the first time since she had arrived here, Rime felt at peace. Not even the odd table cloth spinning around and suddenly being covered with snacks could give her any cause for worry, though they did look quite delicious. Reaching out, she took a cookie and started to nibble at it a bit, beginning to feel a little more level-headed and not quite as wrapped up in her own happiness as before. Taking a look out across the table revealed that there were also quite a few different tea cups sitting there as well, pleasant aromas wafting up. "Hmm... lets see... how about we try this yellow tea cup." More talking to herself at this point, which was better than sitting there in silence.

"Ha! I finally did it! Just took a few too many years and time spent in this place, but I finally made it to year 2. Mom and Dad... well... they might be happy about it, one of them will say it took me long enough." Rime sighed, flopping down in a chair while a few mini pets sat on the floor and looked up at her with slightly confused faces. They hadn't seen their master quite this worked up in some time, at least not with such a happy attitude.
"Now I really do need to get my act together though. No more slacking off, maybe try to make a few new friends. Heck, I might even be able to make some really good friends if I tried hard enough. Just... have to change almost everything about my current habits. But, with everything that's gone on here... it's just not smart to stay alone. Hopefully this will all work out, just positive attitudes Imryn." Giving herself a little pep talk in the mirror was all well and good, but the time would come when she would have to leave her room and get out there and put it into practice. But she was nothing if not determined, something about getting past the first year rank made her a bit more hopeful about her future here at the academy.

Tea Guest Log Colour of Tea Tasted: Pink Description: Accomplishment. Relief. Ambition. Hope. Your commentary on its flavour: He's glad to see that the this tea is hopeful and positive. These teas are his favorite. Linswo happily continues sipping, drinking in the owner's sense of accomplishment as she passes onto year two; whatever that means. He likes her sense of excitement, her attitude is perfect for propelling herself forward. He can feel that the owner will achieve what she's setting out to do in her memory, he has no doubt about it. As long as she keeps up with the momentum, she'll do just fine.
