The Wall RP Guild's advancement system is straightforward enough. To put it simply, you gain rank via taking part in missions and how you perform in them. The missions themselves are Legion-specific and each have a point number which what your participating RPC may gain if he or she completes it. As we are a literate guild, we also take tier and character interaction into account, in the form of Captain Recommendations.
Every few months or so the points are tallied along with the given Captain's Recommendations, as promotions are announced in the Main Forum of the guild.
The following is an outline of how the system works.

XXXStart Rank Each and every RPC starts off from the rank of Cadet associated with only the Cadets, as a Legion until training is over. After training is completed with the help of two Instructors of a minimum of Colonel rank, the Cadets may take part in their first mission, known as the
Test Mission. These mission are usually almost the same and are group missions. These are graded with the following section marks: Tier (T), Ability (A), and Team Cooperation (TC). Upon completion, the Cadets will be given a 'passed' or 'failed' mark.
In the unlikely even when a Cadet should fail, they may take part in the next Test Mission until they pass.
Once a Cadet passes the Test Mission, they may choose which Legion they wish to join.
Based on their scores, and the sections scores in Tier (T), Ability (A), and Team Cooperation (TC), the Instructors will recommend a given Cadet for a Legion. Only those Cadets with recommendations for the Military Police may join this specific Legion. Upon joining all former Cadets become Soldier ranked.
The sections of the Training Arc are always the following:

XXXXXX» One-On-One

XXXXXX» Trail Test
XXXRanks Once an RPC has associated with a Legion, her or she may then begin to accumulate Advancement Points. These are won by taking part in Missions. Missions are Legion-specific and are done by the Captain of the Legion in question.
Each member will be given three separate ranks. These ranks must be included somewhere in their posting format so everyone knows that person's rank. The three separate ranks are listed below.
Military Rank
This rank is given to you by the Legion Leader of your legion. From highest to lowest it is; *Commander, *Lieutenant, *Captain, Officer, Sergeant, Corporal, and Cadet. Promotions and demotions are given at the discretion of the Legion Leader. They are a symbol of proficiency, trust, and experience in the guild and your legion. They do NOT give you any influence or authority over other members of equal, lower, or higher rank unless explicitly told so by your Legion Leader.
CO Rank
CO (commanding officer) rank is a special status given to you by your Legion Leader. It gives you the right to form squads, and perform missions with equal or lower military ranked members and at the discretion of the Legion Leader. In addition, equal and lower military ranked individuals must follow your orders unless they conflict with the Legion Leader's orders or orders from a higher military ranked CO. CO rank can ONLY be applied to Commanders, Lieutenants, and Captains. No individual with a military rank below Captain can be given a CO rank.
CO rank is an extreme honor and is only given to the most trusted individuals by the Legion Leader. It can be given temporarily for a mission or permanently but may also be taken at any time for any reason by the Legion Leader.
Guild Rank
This rank has no ties to the Roleplaying and is strictly kept to guild politics. Most individuals will be members. Some will be crew and a strict few will be vice captains. These ranks are given to you by the captain and vice captains and are shown underneath your Gaia name and above your avatar. You may also check guild ranks in the members list of the guild.

XXXWriting Tiers Legion Captains are expected to judge their subordinates based on five attributes.These attributes are: text quantity, description, proper punctuation, proper Grammar and proper spelling. This also factors into Recommendations for Advancement and allow RP-ers attain their optimal rank within the guild. The tiers are the following from lowest to highest:
XXTier 1;
A new roleplayer who has little to no clue what they are doing. They make the post minimum though and that's what counts here.
XXTier 2;
After new roleplayers get into the swing of how to roleplay they can consistently come up with a good sized paragraph of text that can describe a simple scene. These users generally are semi descriptive to average with their descriptions.
XXTier 3;
Average roleplayers capable of making at least two, five lined paragraphs for their posts. These paragraphs may contain a few errors here and there and may not be overly descriptive but it gets the job done.
XXTier 4;
Slightly above average roleplayer who is capable of forming a few paragraphs of text with mostly proper grammer and spelling as well as punctuation. The descriptive capabilities of these users is usually good but with room for improvement.
XXTier 5;
Above average roleplayer who makes large posts with nearly flawless grammar, spelling and punctuation. These users can generally
roleplay out pages of descriptive text that can sometimes make you forget you're actually reading something.
XXXMission Ranks Each and every Mission has an amount of Advancement it is worth. This is delegated by the Legion Captain at the Mission's announcement. Advancement Points are also given based not only on the amount the Mission completed is worth, but also upon the manner in which it was completed (see previous point upon writing Tiers). As we are a literate guild, we also take tier and character of the RPC into account. This is the job of the Legion Captain to assess and make recommendations upon this information.XXRank E Training Missions. Anyone, including Cadets may take part in such missions. These do not have any contact with Titans and serve only to hone abilities in a safe environment.
XXRank D Soldiers and above-ranked may take these missions. These are almost always team mission involving a larger group of soldiers. While these are relatively low-risk, they still entail indirect contact with Titans. This may turn dangerous is there are any deviant Titans. Such missions may include reconnaissance and indirect diversion, for example.
XXRank C Sergeants and above-ranked may take these missions. These generally use smaller groups and involve direct contact with Titans, albeit from a distance and with back-up. These missions may include taking on no more than one or two isolated Titans as a team, for example, or guarding a supply run.
XXRank B Corporals and above-ranked may take these missions. These missions are in small group of 2 or 3 people. They may include direct, ]close-quartered diversion and attacks on a limited amount (up to 5) Titans.
XXRank A Officers and above-ranked may take these missions. These missions include organizing and carrying out orders with a small group (up to 3) subordinates under you command. As you are in charge of their safety as well as your own, the risk increases. Missions may include holding up Titans, and taking them on one-on-one, for example.
XXRank S Colonels and above-ranked may take these missions. These missions include organizing and carrying out orders with medium-sized groups (up to 20) subordinates., or, alternately, purely solo missions may also arise completely cut off from backup and support, with a large amount of Titans around.
XXRank S+ Lieutenants and above-ranked may take these missions. These are top-secret mission, usually given by the King himself. They require the utmost experience and not a little luck. By the time you reach this level, you should have both in large quantities under your belt and are ready to give it your all to protect Humanity in any way necessary.
XXXItems Your collected APs may be used to upgrade features for your RPC.As we all know giants outperform single humans indefinitely. The background of the character may give them an advantage in some aspects but nobody is able to single-handedly fell a giant. Furthermore, we understand that this is an RP where it is everyone's chance to be a hero or heroine. The items shop will be your means to develop into a giant slaying warrior.
Starting off you will have NO special items. You will be limited to the clothes on your back and weapons at your disposal. At the end of each mission, or over periods of time your Legion Leader may give you points in return for completed missions for buying items from the marketplace. These points will be your currency to purchase said items. It will be up to the shopkeeper of your current store to price the item you are purchasing, but remember, equipment will be very expensive and may have detriments as well. A breakdown of where to buy things is listed below.
XX Blacksmith: A dealer in heavy arms, cutlery, and heavy armor he will supply you with armor that grants strength, durability, and longevity. Common draw backs to his equipment are speed, endurance, and stamina.
In addition to supplying you with heavy based weapons and armor, he will be able to upgrade any armor he sells you, for a price. We will go into further detail of upgrades later.
XX Tailor: The Tailor deals in light armor and accessories. Things like woven armor and earrings are common in his shop. While he will not offer you much in protection, his items have an uncanny way of improving the wearer's performance. Common buffs are speed, agility, and endurance. However, do not expect to get too much strength or protection from his items.
In addition to supplying you with accessories and light armor, he will be able to upgrade any armor or items he sells you, for a price.
Remember, while these items will give you significant aid in combat, the best way to survive is to work as a team. Items will not be inexpensive and upgrades will be even more pricey, so choose your purchases wisely. There are no refunds.
XXXItem Levels and Upgrades Every piece of equipment you buy will start at Level 1. You can bring the item to the vendor that sold it to you to increase it's Level and thus its effectiveness. A guide below will explain the Levels.
XX Level 1: Level 1 items will only be effective against 3-6 meter tall titans that are non-special. Any titan larger and any special titan will not be disadvantaged by your item's effect.
XX Level 2: Level 2 items will only be effective against 7-10 meter tall titans that are non-special.
XX Level 3: Level 3 items will only be effective against 11-15 meter tall titans that are non-special.
XX Level 4: Level 4 items will be effective on titans up to 15 meters in height and will be enough to outsmart deviant titans.

XXXWARNING!! Asking or begging for advancement will only serve to hideously irritate the Crew, so please avoid doing so. Any attempts to 'convince' a Legion Captain, or anyone else will be taken as harassment and the Three Strikes Rule will be swiftly put into place. Take part in the guild and EARN your positions so we can be proud of you! We are here to RP and not beg and suffer beggars, after all.XX
XXXWARNING!! If any questions or problems arise concerning the Tier System, I, Robotic Zamat, will take the matter into my own hands. As I am an English Teacher by trade in RL (TOEFL and SAT included, if that means anything to you), and a vicious grammar Nazi if provoked, good luck getting the better of me if you think you can. Otherwise feel free to consult me if any questions do arise. Please remember we are not looking for perfect English, we simply wish to avoid having people instilling the dreaded and thrice-hated writer's block in others and killing a thread. XX
XXXNOTE!! If you have any questions regarding the Items in this guild or have any ideas for improvement, then please contact Blade Aramaku. He will gladly listen to all ideas and question with regard to this topic and will answer according to our standards and ideals for this here little guild. XX
