It seems almost sad, just a strange, drooped figure. It isn't until you get close that you notice something wrong, especially the way it approaches you, eyes locked, never moving. It reaches its claws towards you and -

Ironshare looked skeptical.
"If they are, they're not like ours. Hey. Have you seen someone like us...I mean, somebody with a real heart for sure- have you seen them break up again?"
There was a word he was looking for, when he said disperse or lose their heart, but he couldn't remember it. It was the thing he above all wanted to avoid.
There was another lurching from the shadows, and Ironshare spun to meet it.

Reap was angry. He wasn't sure why, he'd never really been properly angry before. It made him numb to the swinging of the blade, to the rake of claws. The conversation bothered him too, in ways he couldn't place, he didn't like the idea of losing his heart, of death without return. The new guy was smart, he asked a lot and said a lot.
He didn't like it.

Rojand gave the other, silent figure a curious look as he moved in to sink his blade into the new lurching horror. "You don't talk?" He ripped the sword loose, backed off as the thing took a swipe at him.

Reap shot Rojan a narrowed glare, he wasn't sure why he was so suspicious of the other figure, but it was a lot of questions.
"I only ******** talk when I want to." he grunted irritably.
He hadn't seen other people "die" but he knew what it felt like. He didn't feel like volunteering it.
Instead he remained staunchly focused on being stabby.

"He talks." Iron grinned. "Scatters things real good, too. And no. Never seen anybody break up. Just wondering."
He'd come close, a few times. He still didn't share his thoughts on what they might drop.
"There's been a lot more color here. And I'll tell you what else. That thing in the sky keeps getting bigger. I couldn't see it at first, on account of the rain, but after we left the city and started looking around...you can see it from everywhere."

Rojand shrugged in Reap's general direction. If the big guy didn't feel like talking, that was his business. Likewise if he felt like being grumpy. None of Rojand's business. As long as he kept hitting the clawed thing, Rojand didn't care.
"So if you haven't seen anyone break, how do you know that that's not what hearts turn into afterward?" He slashed almost absentmindedly at the melting, shambling creature and glanced up at the sky when Ironshare mentioned the shape there. "Everything's red," he said. "The neon, the moon. It's an angry color."

Reap just kept right on doing his job. He didn't care about the moon, or what happened to any of them after they died or if they would or could go away permanently. All he cared about was accumulating more shinies, shinies meant sharp things, weapons and dangerousness. If he could get enough power, nothing could tear him apart.

Iron liked all the colors. They meant different. Apart. Combined. Stronger.
He looked blustery at the question. "I don't. They just, you know. They're different then ours. We're different than we used to be. They don't have what we've got."
He couldn't explain it, but there was a difference. He bunched up his shoulders, aimed a hit at the slumped creature, and missed.
He proceeded to look even more embarrassed.

There was a word that slipped out of Rojand's mind, and he frowned and kicked the thing as it slipped closer to grab at him. He looked at Reap instead. "You've seen it?"
He shifted his grip on his sword and watched the creature closely, waiting for it to come back towards him. He'd kill it. Or one of the other two would. That would be okay too, he decided.

Ironshare blinked as he registered the news, hesitating.
"You? ...when...?"
He looked at Rojand, then stiffened his shoulders again, dropping the question and clearing his throat. Or what he had that was sort of throatish, just focusing on trying to hit the thing another time.
His focus was not good.
