The lower valley like normal this time of year felt hot and heavy. The humid air made even breathing seemed harder. Doing any sort of actively in this was torture. The one thing that made this area was that it had plenty of trees, giving shade and some relief from the beating sun. Still, most would shy away from traveling or doing hard labor in this climate. Most took comfort in enjoying these long, dry summer months with family playing and relaxing near the safety of home. Kaia however was not like most. She never had been. To her these were the prime months to venture away from her home up in the cooler mountains to search for what she revealed in finding. Artifacts, knowledge, new stories, cultures, ruins! All of which got her mind racing, and drove her will to go down into this inferno.
In her mind she had a job to do. Damnit to all hell, she was going to do it no matter what the cost! She wouldn't allow treasures of knowledge go unfound to be buried under snow for another year just because of some bad weather.
So, here she was in the middle of long abandoned ruins of a once great two-legger village. Kaia's hard work of the past few months was already showing in that the peeks of stone walls poked from the ground, cleaned off dirt and plant life. It would take years of work for it to be fully excavated. It was something Kaia knew well, but, was willing to put in the effort if it meant the chance to learning what secrets lay hidden under the dirt.
Her body blended into the muted and dark landscape easily. It didn't help in the least bit that her head was craned down as far as it would go. The only clue that most would be able to pick up that she was even there was the faint sound of her hoof striking the ground as she worked to dig delicately. Most wandering souls who passed by didn't notice the young harpini, something that was just fine with her. Kaia was content with often times spending weeks without coming into contact with another living thing. It just meant she had more time to focus on her task at hand. Course, not being social did have it's downfall as well. Not only did it make her a bit awkward around others and kept out-of-the-loop on most news. One piece of news that failed to reach her was the rumors of the threatening kalona herd that was incoming to the land. She was in a way, a sitting duck in this regard. Kaia wouldn't have known about the threat until it either was face-to-face with her or right under her nose.
For the moment though she was in peace. In her element she hadn't a care in the world besides the oncoming winter that would cause her to stop her work. It seemed once again the fates had another plan in mind for her this day that would cause her to break away from her routine.

Long ago the cream stallion had declared that he was not, and never would be, a hero. He had been adamant in this and had repeated it to everyone who had listened. He'd been an appalling student when it came to combat, he'd been impossible to educate on politics and diplomacy, and his geography was sketchy at best. At first Sylph had assumed he was being rebellious and that he would settle, but eventually his father had conceded defeat and accepted that on this occasion, his son was not destined to become a mighty warrior. Instead, Tut had been allowed to entertain himself and was very much left to his own devices on the conditions that he didn't bring dishonour to the family name.
Unfortunately, despite all of Tut's declarations that he would never be a hero, things hadn't quite worked out that way. The cream stallion hadn't realised it at the time but his upbringing had instilled a greater sense of duty in him than he had anticipated. Honour, duty, justice - they were things he couldn't ignore and when something, hell anything, was at odds with these he found that he simply gravitated towards it. As inexplicable as the stallion found it, he had to 'fix' it and fixing something like that always led to trouble.
His last escapade was proof of this, for the injustice he had seen had resulted in him being mauled by a skinwalker with the sole purpose of saving the filly that she had set her sights on. He'd been cut up, the filly had broken her legs, and then he had wandered rather cluelessly until he had bumped into the fabled unicorn who had saved them both. Alas, this event had set off a larger chain that had then led to his uncle plunging into a religious war with the aforementioned skinwalker.
...Apparently she even had a name.
Alas, Tut had not offered to help with that little problem and instead, he had wandered about the slopes and set about his own hobbies. It was unfortunate that one of those things turned out to be spying, worse still, that his father had caught him in the act. Oh it wasn't that Tut was guilty, only that his father had immediately seen the benefit of his abilities and had summoned him to that rather important 'summit' with everyone else who held rank. It had been there that his services had been offered and well, Tut being the idiot he was, hadn't refused... in fact he distinctly remembered reassuring his father that he was a fast runner and he could guarantee he'd be able to get out alive.
Seriously, Tut was a genius.
Nevertheless, rather than back out of the arrangement, Tut had gathered his wits about him and clambered down into the valley. He'd been accompanied by his sister for a time, but eventually they had gone their separate ways to approach from different angles. Suppi had gone to the east, and he now headed to the west - ah, but this was a region he was most unfamiliar with and while he made sure to keep his steps quiet, the ghostly stallion couldn't help but note that it must have been inhabited at some point. He afforded an appreciative gaze to the 'ruins' as he passed, but as of yet he hadn't seen the Harpini.
In fact, it was highly likely they would have ignored each other if his hooves hadn't eventually clopped against disturbed rocks and revealed his presence...

It would be a lie if Kaia had said she thought in a million years she would ever meet up with the stallion who saved her all those years ago. She hadn't known his name, where he was from, and frankly in the haze of overwhelming amounts of pain she couldn't say for sure what he looked like. A few details were noted in her mind, sure. She could remember in the darkness his white coat seemed to gleam, even tainted by blood and dirt. She could guess he was a teenager at best due to his lanky form that was clearly marked that he had much growing to come. What she remembered most was his pure black eyes. In her years after Kaia had never met another with eyes that were solid dark like his. At any other time besides that fated moment she would have been scared as a child of him because of them. But, the stallion who bore such strange looks had saved her life. As rough as she remembered him he was simply "Hero" to her and always would be remembered fondly. In the years to come once her childhood quest to find her father proved successful and she had time to grow in safety Kaia did go looking for him to thank properly. Sadly, she did not strike luck in her second quest. Soon she would grow disheartened in her chances and gave up on the search. Accepting that she would most likely never find out just who was the one that saved her life.It seemed though her luck on the forgotten search hadn't quite been barren. Just simply was late in showing it's self in a mysterious way in form of a misstep onto a rock. Kaia's normally relaxed headwings shot up before fluttering at the sound of the heavy clop. Her head shortly followed being raised with them. What she came face-to-face with when her icy blue eyes finally caught sight of just what made the noise was...surprising to say the least to her. Why she had been picturing it to be another woodland animal, perhaps even her loyal hawk Davkas returning from getting word from her dear sister. But a stallion? No, that certainly was a surprise. Even more so that a stallion of his size could have been so quiet as he traveled! Most who made their way by the hidden harpini sounded as loud as a herd of bison and she could track them coming and going without beating an eye. Staring at the ghostly stallion for a moment Kaia rapidly blinked, her mind racing to catch up to what the hell was happening. Then...then it clicked into place. No, no, no, NO!! At once she kicked it into high gear rushing to get around the jutting out walls. She was in a full out panic at the thought of what he could have just stomped on. It could have been anything important! A bone, a pot, a tool, another wall. Anything! With his weight he would have surely damaged whatever he stepped on if that was the case. Once she was next to the now confused stallion Kaia pressed her muzzle against his side, shooing him away from the area. One pregnant pause later Kaia let out a sigh of relief. "I...I'm sorry about being so brash...but this is a historical site. Any damaged artifacts caused by careless footing is a loss to the world." After being silent for so long it took honestly some effort in finding her voice again. Even then it was harsher than normal. Still her tensed body relaxed as she spoke. Finally lifting her head she got a chance to get a decent look at whom she was meeting. White coat, white hair, strange bandages, and a large gleaming chest piece. Still with his head angled in such a way she couldn't see his face. Still, he seemed...strangely familiar yet Kaia honestly couldn't place him. Stepping back to give him and herself a bit more personal space. Her knack for being more polite and closed off to others coming back now that her work worries were quelled. A twinge of a frown formed on her face as her head tilted to one side. The fact that she couldn't shake the feeling that she knew this stallion bothered her deeply. Normally she was always on cue with remembering things! Meeting new people wasn't a huge thing with her, so already her pool of suspects was limited. So, the question was why couldn't she remember him? Well...as her father always taught her answers came from questioning. No sense not to be blunt about it. Giving a small clear of the throat she lifted her head up higher, hoping to perhaps catch a glance at his face for a clue to who he was. "Excuse me but have we meet before...?"

Somebody was talking to him - a female to be precise, and it had taken him a rapid series of blinks to focus on the mare who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He surmised that she had been camouflaged in the ruins as her coat would have performed remarkably well in this respect, but she'd have had to have been extraordinarily quiet as well for him not to notice. Or at least she would have been if he hadn't been distracted, a small part of him suspected he had probably missed her as he had been tunnel visioning for a large amount of time. Granted the stallion could afford to at the moment as he hadn't yet reached the area but still...
Who knows what could have popped out?
Alas, he had only caught half of her explanation as he attempted to focus on the mare and had concluded that she was rambling on about something to do with ruins, rocks and something else of great importance. Given the stallion was not in the slightest bit academic, he was at a bit of a loss for what she was talking about and why it could have been of such significance. Regardless, he placed an amiable smile on his lips and very deliberately looked down at the large, and very normal stone, that he had clipped against... all in all, she seemed to be panicking over nothing. Fortunately the cream male had the decency not to remark on that, and instead, squinted as he regarded the mare.
...Now that she mentioned it she did look rather familiar.
"Possibly," he responded at last, though his tone was a touch doubtful. "But if you weren't one for hanging out on the summit then it's unlikely," he mused and tilted his head to the side. "I haven't been down here in donkeys sweetheart, and I'm fairly sure I'd remember you."

Pursing her lips Kaia watched as the stallion regarded what he had stepped on and what just a moment ago she was in a panic over. Many people had before thought of her as nuts for worrying over such small artifacts, hell, even her own family did. Given his body language over the whole thing it was plain to see that this mysterious traveler had this same train of thought. Her head tilted lower as her head wings came down to hide most of her face under the tri-colored feathers. It was a nervous habit of hers, one she did when she was uncomfortable. Having her sanity questioned certainly was a trigger for making Kaia shy back into her shell even more. Granted she did have the decency to peek out from her headwings to at least give a glance to him as her spoke to her before her head wing lowered again. For the first time she had met him she got a chance to look at his face full-on. She noted that he kept up his fashion accessory bandages on his face, a strange metal beard that seemingly was attached to his chin in a mysterious way, unsurprisingly short hair, and black eyes.....Wait...what was that she saw?Her headwings perked at once as she lifted her head back up. Stepping forward towards him again she craned her head up as far as it could go. She had to in order to reach what she was after on the taller stallion! Ugh, couldn't he have lowered his head even a bit? Just...a little bit more...A-ha! Finally! Grabbing a hold of the end of one of his bandages Kaia gave a hard tug, pulling it down so it rested more on his muzzle than above his eyes. She was right! Black eyes!Kaia's own eyes widened as she moved around to his side. Before he had the chance to shy away from her advances Kaia was already pushing aside his bandages around his waist to reveal the thin scars running down his side. Scars that matched the ones she had in many ways. It was him! It was really him! After all this time she had finally bumped into him. Heh...Thinking about it now she wasn't surprised she didn't before. He did say he was from the summit, wasn't he? If she was right he was speaking about one of the few places she never traveled to. Kaia preferred to stay out of herd's territories if she could help it, and the summit was renowned for having a number of smaller herds under the banner of one large collective taking home up there. If he didn't come down from his home often there was no way in the world they could have met up till now.The normally still headwings of hers once again lowered to softly rest against the back of her head as she stepped back to admire him. He certainly looked different than what she remembered but, she also had grow and changed herself. It would be foolish to think that he would still look like the lanky teenager as before. Kaia's face light up in a warm smile as she regarded him fully once again. Her voice came out softer than before, but held a certain amount of joy that wasn't in it before. "Hero...so we meet again."

Ack - hack - oh god he couldn't breathe!
Whoever the mare was, she had transformed from painfully shy to abusive in under a second. She was tugging at his bandages to the point he'd been strangled, and then she was moving them again to strangle him in the opposite direction. If he had been uncomfortable about her eccentricities before, he was now beginning to wonder if the mare had murderous tendencies. Fortunately, Kaia soon stopped with her antics and he gave a series of coughs as the bandages loosened again and cleared his air waves. He refrained from replying immediately, instead choosing to fidget until they were more back in a more comfortable position.
What in the nine hells was this girl on? Had she been sniffing something or consumed some sort of mushroom? Honestly, she deserved every incredulous stare she got, his included, as he regarded her with an expression which appeared to be an odd mix of horror and confusion. He was entirely unsure as to whether or not he'd been assaulted over a rock or something else... Frankly, he wasn't sure it would be a wise decision to ask either, since he suspected she might massacre him as a result!
Fortunately the mare soon explained herself, or she attempted to, uttering only the word 'hero' and 'we meet again'. Now that confused him and he had to try and recall whether or not he had started a war, or if he had at some point in his life, found a rival. He couldn't recall a rival and frankly he wasn't entirely sure where a female rival would come from but...
His expression became all the more quizzical as he tried to work out what the mare meant - and then it hit him, his lips parting as he really looked at the mare and her rather ridiculous backside. Well strictly speaking it wasn't ridiculous, his mother's backside was the same and his father would have smacked him for the insult, but it was a fairly recognisable trait and her's... well her's seemed to ring some bells.
He hadn't slept with her sooooo...
"Oh dear gods, it's you," it dawned on him at last and he cracked a smile. "Well I'll be damned, she didn't eat you after I left."

A pang of guilt did course through her when she heard him hacking away. She honestly didn't want to hurt or discomfort him in that way! Kaia didn't realize that his wrapping where so tight that even the slightest shifting of them would cause such tightening. Suppose lesson learned for the future: Don't overly tug on bandages if someone is wearing them.Frankly she couldn't blame him for his questioning looks. She most likely would have shot herself the same look as she was running away if faced with the same antics. But, in the heat of the moment she didn't have time to wonder about how it would look if she flipped suddenly from her normal, reserved self to a frantic mare on a mission. To be honest she didn't feel shame in what she did. Everyone had their "What in all hell are you doing!?" moments in life.Kaia watched as he tried to work out what she meant. Course, till she figured out that he was staring at her strangely marked flank. The back of her ears lit red as she heavily blushed under her coat. Shifting to the side she fluffed out her tailfeathers to hide her backside a bit more from him. He might be her hero but there was no way she was allowing him to have open viewing to gawk at her like that! Letting out a soft sigh when they reached the same train of thought Kaia relaxed, her smile once again forming on her face. "No she indeed not. Luckily the red stallion stuck around long enough for me to come-to before giving me another comment about grace and leaving. Though, me and my sister did hear rumors of her roaming the area after so we left the area in a hurry." Shifting her weight onto her back legs she popped her lips. After all this time she honestly had forgotten what she was going to say to him. What could one say to him in this kind of pickle? 'Thanks for saving me it made my day yo.' She...doubted that would really do the trick in this case. "I'm glad to see that you made it home without running into...her...as you said again. I take it that the unicorn stallion fixed you up as well." Argh, she had so many questions for him! She wanted to know why he put his life on the risk like that, did he make a career out of doing such things? Was he a knight of some sorts as she heard there were roaming around? Perhaps a skinwalker hunter? Or was he simply just a brave passer by who couldn't sit still? What happened to him after? Was he sorry he did what he did? Ohhh. So many questions, so little time! Finally she would get her chance to get answers, the question was where to start? Well, she could think of one good place to start. "I never got to say it before I blacked out...but thank you. I wouldn't have be here without you right now, not only that but..." Snorting softly she cracked a more amused grin as she thought back on it. Though her hot-headed sister thought she was big and bad in truth Nakita most likely wouldn't have survived without someone there to keep her from letting her mouth go into things she couldn't live up to. Plus, they were sisters. Yin and Yang in many respects. Having one die left the other without a part of it's self. But one filly alone in this world simply didn't have the chance to survive with the many dangers around even without a temper that could get her in trouble. "I doubt my sister would have been able to last in this world by herself. So, you saved not only me but her as well. I haven't the slightest clue how to repay the kind of debt I owe to you." Bowing her head slightly at him she paused for a moment before it dawned on her - She didn't even know his name! "I owe my life to you and yet...I don't even know your real name, Hero."

Hero.
He was not a hero! Did he need to carry a massive sign strapped his his neck spelling this out for those who passed him by. If he ignored another when they were getting mobbed then that was just peachy, he was not the perfect Samaritan and never would be. To have the mare refer to him as a hero made him smart slightly and his expression became strained, most notably his smile as he regarded her. Suffice it to say that he wasn't really surprised that she was rambling at him - something to do with her sister and how he had indirectly saved her too; something that he sincerely doubted and would probably argue about but alas... Some how he had the sneaking suspicion he wouldn't win that particular argument.
"His name is Persaeus, or Persy for short," he said at last, electing to give the real 'hero' a name given that without the wayward rake, she would have been crippled for life. Granted, Persy wasn't the most subtle of males and probably hadn't left a fabulous impression on the mare but he'd done his job and ensured she didn't die. "He's one of my herd mate's mate's cousins..." he paused, squinted and then shook his head. "At least I think that's right; it gets a touch complicated whenever I try to work out that line," he mused.
"And I'm not a hero," he continued, his lips pursing into a thin line as he sought to correct that misconception straight away. If there was one nickname he hated it was that, just because he was in the right place at the right time didn't make him a hero, anyone who declared as such or took credit for something like that deserved to be slapped. Those weren't even his words either, they were firmly in the realms of his father who had often claimed that true heroes didn't seek acknowledgements and one brave deed didn't provide you with the title.
A brave deed was just that, it didn't warrant anything other than quiet gratitude.
"My name is Tutankhamun," he lifted a brow and then rolled his shoulders in a very loose shrug. "Though everyone calls me Tut," he conceded. Nevertheless he soon gave himself a very abrupt shake and furrowed his brow, pleasant as this reunion was bound to be he really couldn't stop to delay, particularly when he had things to do. He was on limited time and if he stopped for too long then it was a guaranteed thing that someone would come looking for him.
"Listen sweetheart, as lovely as it is to see that you aren't catnip," he took a breath and sighed. "There's a rather large kalona herd over yonder and I have a lot to do," he explained and gave a nod over his shoulder. "Much as I'd love to chat I should go and you should make a swift exit before you get hurt - the ruins will still be here for you to guard like a true harpy whenever you get back."

Clipping a nod Kaia couldn't help but take the news of Persaeus' name with half-hearted interest. What she did remember of him as a child wasn't of the greatest fondness. In fact given the fact that she was in great pain at the time his jabs at her she would go so far to say as utterly rude and uncalled for. Still, he did play a huge part in the fact that she was standing here alive at the moment. "Well, sense you seem to have regular contact with this Persaeus please pass on my thanks as well to him?" Kaia was close to arguing that he was indeed a hero in his own right but, stopped herself. There were those who didn't like being called certain things. Something that Kaia could relate to well enough. Though he didn't enjoy being called that, she could always know that he was to her. "Tutankhamun...?" Huh, interesting name for sure. It sounded exotic, though she felt like she heard the style of name before. Perhaps from one of her father's many stories from his past cases? Most likely, still, she could have time later to reflect on it. "Kaia. Most just call me Kaia." Yes, it was a lame joke. However her sense of humor was not something she was known for. Besides, it lightened the mood and that she was thankful for. One of her eyebrows lifted into her hairline as she soaked in what he said. A kalona herd? Worse, a large one? Close by? This was something she simply had to see for herself. If anything to get a good judgement on the size herself and the details of just where they were going so she could relay the news back to her own family and get them to safety. "Well, it seems you have peeked my interests, Tutankhamun. I need to see this threat myself." Stepping forward towards the direction he was heading in before she gave a light smile, glancing back at him. " Perhaps, we could travel together? Gods knows safety is best in numbers when being faced with something of that nature." She wouldn't say that she also would most likely take the chance to question him some more. That was something that could be the deal breaker when offering to become a traveling companion.

"Are you insane?" the stallion exploded, his eyebrows shooting up as he regarded the mare and her decision to inspect the kalona herd for herself. She was part angeni, worse, she was female - if Esper had been spotted and he wasn't stupid enough to get nearer, then why in the nine hells should Tut allow this one to get any closer. What made things even more troubling was that if she travelled with him (as she appeared to be inclined), then it would completely and utterly blow his cover - they'd know he was here, they'd come for him...and then he would end up dead. He was a fast runner but deep down he knew that if the damn girl broke her leg on another rock then he was going to drag her out with him.
Urgh.
"You are part Angeni," he stated in such a flat tone that he could have been discussing this issue with an idiot. "Kalona can detect Angeni and I would like to stay alive," he stated coolly. He was never intentionally rude, but there were some things that just needed to be said and if he had to spell out that the mare was probably going to get him killed (again), then he would like to decline the company. Hell, to save her hide she should have been doing what he had said before and leaving! Good grief but some mares just needed to be a royal pain in the backside, didn't they?
"If you latched onto my tail then there's no way I would get what I have to do done, in fact I think I'd spend most of my time running for my life," he snapped and shook his head, in fact, he was surprisingly animated in comparison to how he had been before. It took all of his self control not to raise his voice and attract any unnecessary attention. "Given how important it is for me to get this information I would appreciate it if you just...You know," he waved a hoof slightly.
"Went the other way like a sane soquili, rather than being decidedly suicidal." he concluded.

"I'm many things but insane is not something I'm inclined to agree fits me." She knew the risks well enough. Kaia had a understand that kalona had a higher sense for those of angeni blood, some even reeled in the feeling that it invoked in them and were more prone to attack. However such danger she had to set aside. Most of the time she would simply allow Davkas to go ahead of her and scout the area before giving her the details. However she didn't see the hawk around. If what he said was true then the herd were closer than what Kaia would take was acceptable. It would be a few days time at least before Davkas would be back. That was precious time that Kaia seemingly did not have to waste. She had to find out this information now."I'm part angeni yes. You're assuming that I would get detected. Frankly sweetheart judging by the fact that you damn near glow with that coat of yours I would say that you stick out as much as I do. I have as much of a chance against them on my own as you do. Surely also we would not be the only ones who have gotten news of this herd and have gone to scout it out they might be already keeping the herd too busy to notice any newcomers. I could aid you also, taking a different side and getting information from another angle." Pursing her lips tightly she lifted her head up high and proud. Frankly she didn't enjoy being spoke down to like a helpless foal, but, in this kind of situation it wouldn't be good for her to point it out verbally. "I'm the one being suicidal? I'm not the one heading for a kalona herd by my self to go spy on them. Even without me if you were spotted you would be easily ripped to bits. One stallion against a herd of kalona - even if he in the past has taken on a purewalker, will. not. win!" Urgh. Men! Some of them had to be stubborn alpha males when being faced with danger. It was seriously a pain in the arse. "You said you were wasting time just taking five minutes to chit-chat, aren't you wasting more of it by sitting here arguing with me on if I should join you or not?

"With the exception of a misstep, you weren't aware of my existence," Tut replied smoothly and shook his head. The mare seemed determined to follow him and frankly, he wasn't entirely sure he was prepared to accept the risk. Having an Angeni so close that couldn't get airborne was a death sentence and even if he did intervene to help; what was he supposed to do exactly? Short of killing her himself, there was very little that he could do to help out if attention turned their way...
"And I don't travel alone," he glanced upwards to the large flock of winged soquili proceeding forward over head, all in a series of formations, arrows no less. Eventually they would clump together in a safer mass, but for the time being they looked much more imposing in that formation; far better for any outlying scouts that had been keeping watch since Esper's appearance. "You think my herd is foolish enough for that? I may be right on the line, but I bring a series of strike teams with me," he lifted a brow and looked left and right, then behind the mare, as if seeking out what she might bring.
"They are not psychic and neither am I, they can't protect what they don't know exists," he stated flatly. With that, he stepped back and proceeded away, electing not to argue any further. If the airborne teams had caught up then he had remained too long - he'd be visible enough to them at this position but eventually, when he was in the trees, he would become much harder to spot. Better for them to note his position before it was too late, than to get there later than planned and cause complications.
...There was no arguing with the mare, he'd seen her type before, and given she had harpy blood he wasn't stupid either!
"If you want to get yourself killed then go nuts," he snapped, and with that, he slipped into silence and pushed himself towards the depths of the forest and the tree line on the other side.

"I also had my head down at the time of your arrival. Had it not been I doubt I wouldn't have noticed you passing by." Kaia's words came out matter-of-factly as she replied to him. Her expression seemed over the past few minutes or so to have gone from curious/excited to exasperated. Though, past that one could say Kaia was amused by the little dispute over whether or not she was coming with him. Kaia understood where he was getting at, sure. She also knew she was being very stubborn in her views. But, these were disparate times and they tended to call for disparate measures. Her icy blue eyes casted up to follow where he was glancing. Letting out a small, 'Huh' under her breath she watched as the strike teams fly over head. She noted the direction they were headed in before disappearing over the skyline. "I do not know your herd or their practices when facing trials like this." She replied honestly. There were some herds who would send one of their best scouts alone to see what was up without any backup, some like his didn't. It was all up to the herd. She didn't notice his little look-around. Nor did she elected to reply to his comment. Of course they weren't. But at the same time nor was her own family. Kaia was the only one at the moment who could go get the life saving details for them. If that meant she was putting herself in danger, or could even die? Well then it meant that she was going face-to-face with danger. But this was something she had to do. The fact that she could follow her hero to the herd almost as a guide? Well, that was just a plus. Smiling mildly as Tut slipped past her into the forest Kaia couldn't help but shake her head. There was nothing more to say on the matter. Finally he seemed to accept that she was coming no matter what he said or did. Though, if she could bet that he would be giving her the silent treatment the rest of their trip. Hey, at least he wouldn't be arguing against her following the whole way there, right? Pursing her lips she gave one last glance back to her ruins. Kaia glanced back to the ghostly stallion who was moving on without her before stepping over a wall so her head could reach down and grab a worn leather bag with her teeth. It held whatever valuables Kaia needed when traveling and there was no way she was gonna leave it here when going to such a dangerous zone! Stepping back over the wall as carefully as she could Kaia tossed her head back, sliding the bag around her neck. With that the harpini headed off into the depths forest after the white stallion.
