This is not the first time I've had to induct this man into a Hall of Fame. Kronik and I had a really rough start to our working relationship, and he'd be the first to gloat about it, but the fact of the matter is that over the course of his YEARS of service on Gaia, he was always really under-appreciated. I mean lets face it. Yeah, he was a bit of a tool bag most of the time, but only when it came to personal interactions. Business and match interactions, he was almost always professional, and he worked hard. His promos were funny or effective, his character, a natural heel, worked at the highest level. He was realistic, selling when he needed to, running when he needed to, winning when he could, losing if he must, without so much as an arguement unless he REALLY had a conviction about something. He was so easy to WORK with that he never achieved the success he deserved until he was fed up enough to leave us. So yeah, maybe at the end of the day, it turns out, at least SOMEONE cared.
The community is worse off without Kronik and his mainstay character Matt Stone, whether anyone thinks so or not. His activity was top-notch, his posts were top-notch, his character was top-notch, and now his accomplishment is top-notch.

Kronik No one cares Let`s face it, that`s the most memorable thing I`ve contributed to the Gaia E-fedding community, and that`s not necessarily a bad thing. Before the cake was a lie, before we took an arrow to the knee and even before Leroy Jenkins, there was No one cares. It`s been my meme, of sorts, for ten years here on on Gaia and even still when I lurk on some threads, I still see it being used and that is the greatest tribute I can ask for. When it comes to actually competing with everyone, I suppose I never really looked at it like that. I always took this wonderful hobby of ours as a cooperative endeavor to tell a story, and it`s not the big wins that I remember about this, it`s the fun matches that I had, win or lose. And trust me, I lost a lot. But that never really bothered me so long as I was with someone active who could tell a good wrestling match. Guys like Randy, Kelly and Mike were always fun to work with and I like to think I always brought out the best in them whenever we got together. I remember helping guys like Nuke, Marxx and Venom work on psychology and truth be told, that was as fun as anything, just getting to talk about something I felt very passionate about. Unlimited would be my favourite guild I was in, and while I played many characters there, it was always, at its core, me having fun. Everyone (who was there at the time) remembers the tragic passing of Eddie Guerrero in November of 2005 and I can't remember exactly who came up with the idea (I think Randy or Torrie) but there was a thread made where people honoured his memory, in character. To me, that didn't seem to make sense from an in character perspective so I had my character (Ken Kennedy, back in the day when CAWs weren't the norm) and I just ripped into everyone. Fun times. There is a laundry list of professional wrestlers I tried to portray to the best of my ability and to name a few: Chris Jericho, Edge, Christian, Kurt Angle, John Cena, AJ Styles and ever Carlito (Das not cool) and each one of them, I feel, I brought something different. I even played a few of them faces. My favourite memory though, of playing one of these people, came with my first encounter with Kelly King. He was running Twisted Flow at the time and had a rule in place where everyone could have 2 characters, a main character and a temp character. The caveat, though, was that the main character always had to be a CAW, if applicable, leaving the `real characters`, as it were, to be Temps. Anyone could take your temp for their main, and when I got there he was running Edge, who happened to be the World Champion at the time, as a temp so he could play his CAW as a main. To this day, I don't know if I was the first to do this, but I signed up as Edge as my main just so I could be the World champion. What a selfish c**t I am, eh? I think I ran Edge for maybe a day, if that, before dropping him back to Kelly, but I like to think I taught him a little something that day wink My main character, though, has always been my CAW, Matt Stone. He’s arrogant, he’s brash and he has no filter. Showing the originality of a D-Lo Brown match, I just slightly altered my real name and BAM! A star was born. He started out in Unlimited, but quickly spread out to feds like Evolution, WWF:G, EEW, DSW and others and at that time, I was just happy to get into as many guilds as I could just to always have something to do. My homework, as I’m sure some of you can attest, always took a backseat to checking the forums every ten-fifteen minutes to see if someone had replied. The highlight of Stone, at least for me, came in Evolution when, with Mike Landry and Kelly King, we formed “The Best”. It was simple, succinct and a very fun time to just hang out with my buddies and talk s**t about people, in character of course =p. With Mike and I as “The Tag Team”, I had a lot of fun times just chatting with him, bouncing ideas back and forth and adding in Kelly just made all those times even better. Thank you guys for making this so much fun Thank you to Venom for always sticking around in Unlimited, thank you to Cross for having those awesome matches, thanks to Randy for really running a solid guild for years and putting up with all my crap, thank you to Jed for always being a reliable adversary, thanks to Xero for showcasing the originality of using a CAW for the first time, thanks to Torrie, Jaclyn and Kayla for working to getting my gimmicks over, thanks to XFactor for always being that Goliath to my David and really, thanks to everyone for making the years I spent here so very enjoyable. I’m sorry if I left anyone out, I assure you it is not intentional, I hold no grudges or ill feelings towards anyone here, and while I know I’m not perfect, I hope everyone knows anything I may have said or done while here was all meant in good fun. Whether you love me or you hate me, at the end of the day, it’s a game that we all enjoy and from the bottom of my heart, regardless of how you feel about me; no one cares. Goodnight all -Matt
