IMPORTANT NOTE: The Weyrhold is still a plan, an idea, and ideal. Natai is trying to gather allies, help, and ideas on how to put this into motion - the actual Weyrhold may not be up and going for a while ICly because it does need to be built, it needs dragons and places and whers and everyone unbonded and farmers and ... everything. I'm going through what needs to be done in order to get it into progress, this included. This thread is to get this going and to start a brand new and different place on Pern with the possibility of rank for any color and status, whether wher, dragon, or unbonded.

Euclid Weyrhold Goal and Information of Weyrhold Weyr colors: Orange Symbol/Flag: HereMotto: We only sound pretentious. (Not really but it'd be funny) Leadership system:Weyrwoman - Initially Natai, eventually may be for any goldrider or breeding crimson (or others? May be changed). Once the Weyrhold is running and stable with people, dragons, etc, not just the initial stages but a viable Weyrhold, she will be on the same 4 years as the Weyrleader but initially the vote will be for whether to keep her, not on who to vote in. Should 2/3 of the council vote not to keep her, another will be voted in - in charge of day to day domestics and politics, has 1 vote in council, will make tie breaking vote should it come to a stand-still. Once voted out, the previous Weyrperson will stay on for an extra turn in order to mentor the new one. Weyrleader - all citizens in the Weyr vote for three top candidates, Weyrleader chosen by Weyrwoman from those three - in charge of Wing layouts, Threadfall strategies, has 1 vote in the council and Weyrwomans ear - can be any color dragon and of any gender or sexuality, voted every four years or unless the council unanimously votes them out. Green Leader - three positions, male or female greenrider(s) - voted on by all greenriders once every 5 turns - 1 vote each in council, 3 votes total - may not hold another council position at the same time Blue Leader - two positions, male or female bluerider(s) - voted on by all blueriders once every 5 turns - 1 vote each in council, 2 votes total - may not hold another council position at the same time Brown Leader - one position, male or female brownrider - voted on by all brownriders once ever 5 turns - 1 vote in council - may not hold another council position at the same time Bronze Leader - one position, male bronzerider - voted on by all bronzeriders once ever 5 turns - 1 vote in council - may not hold another council position at the same time Atypical Leaders - two positions, male or female of any atypical color - voted on by all atypical riders once ever 5 turns - 1 vote each, 2 in council - may not hold another council position at the same time - number of positions and votes may be raised to three depending on number of atypicals at Weyrhold over time Wher Leader - three positions, male or female wherhandlers - voted on by all wherhandlers once ever 5 turns - 1 vote each in council, 3 total - may not hold another council position at the same time Unbonded Leader - three positions, male or female unbonded - voted on by all unbonded persons once ever 5 turns - 1 vote each in council, 3 total - may not hold another council position at the same time Wingleader - as many as required, no vote in council - any color, any gender of rider - nominated by any Leader in council, may be voted on for promotion - may request re-vote on Weyrleader should 80% of Wingleaders feel him or her to be incompetent after 5 amount of turns Wingseconds - work under Wingleaders - no vote in council - promoted by Weyrleader, no need for vote - any color, any gender of rider Goal:To create a system on Pern that involves a way for any color to gain power and prestige within the Weyrhold, where unbonded and whers are treated with the respect they deserves along with a firm say in the system, and where breeding females can still take place in the political tree even though they cannot fight Thread or become Wingleaders. The hope is to have a tight-knit community where everyone feels valued and self-sustaining, not depending on tithes on beholden Holds. Natai hopes to create this without violence. Idealistic? Yes. But it can be achieved. Views in detailAtypicals: Welcomed and wonderful. The idea that they are a drain is abhorred and the eggs will always be cracked open. If you don't want Natai to have a quiet and smoldering dislike for you, best not slander them in her presence.
Revolution: The reasons behind it were understandable and valid but the actions in starting it were not. The Wherholds current actions of things like pit fighting, stripping captives, and continuing with the status quo are also not looked favorably on.
Color status: All colors are important. No one is 'just' a green/blue/black/etc. The smaller and more numerous colors get more of a say in things when votes occur. Without the smaller colors, they would all die. Shinies are important because they make babies and still can fight Thread while giving their riders more time to contribute otherwise to the Weyrhold. No one should be looked down on for how large or small their dragon is, though as we all know, not everyone will agree with this. That's okay too as long as they realize others probably go neutral at that.

Location Terrain: Some hills - no crazy mountains but it isn't super flat. A lot of green. Jungles at one end, also a stream either through or near the Weyrhold. Weather: It's Southern. neutral Known resources:

People Needed All sorts of people are needed to start a successful ANYTHING, let along a Weyrhold in a brand new place. Former drudges or lower cavern workers who want something new, adventerous Journeymen or Masters, dragonriders, wherhandlers, Candidates with a Craft because while Iachixth is too young to Rise (or shows no inclination at the moment) they'll eventually have eggs to Impress to. But! In order to actually get a semblence of something other than a tent, specifics are required. Natai WILL be hitting up Crafthalls so if you need a reason for them to know, we can RP that out. I need to discuss with skie but with all luck, she'll send word beforehand so she's not crashing a Hall that won't welcome her by, you know...murder. ANYWAY: Architect(s): Natai has a rough layout sketched out what she'd like the Weyrhold to look like but it likely requires alterations and DOES need someone who knows how to build it and build it right. Journeyman or higher Beast and Farm crafters: They need animals. Animals and people who know how to grow things. o3o Fooooood. Smiths, stone, wood crafters: [to be added] Any Masters are in charge. Cooks: [to be added] Any Masters are in charge.

HOW IS NATAI GOING TO COMMUNICATE Bereck and Kiril at Trine have been spreading quiet rumors about the Weyrhold; Bereck may be available for rides while Kiril is keeping under the radar (although it may change - it is up to miz Tua). Should any people from the Weyrs/Holds/Cotholds be interested in joining, they may also go to Natai's hold to express interest and they will pass the information to Natai for stuff. Please assume that they were greeted with suspicion by a large woman covered in a bloody apron when asking but were not treated badly. Any Crafters living in or knowing people in Crafthalls may assume that Natai was there to discuss with Crafters biggrin I will be MORE than happy to RP this out, whether your character hates the idea or loves it. As with Musk/Mustela, they wander the terrain and stuff so they can also meet there. She's not been out much - one visit to Trine during the Hatching Feast and several people have visited her Hold. Unfortunately she has been paranoid about being kidnapped and/or killed due to her refusal to join either side and didn't travel outside of that. Natai has several friends at Trine of various sorts but right now only two have the coordinates to her little... plot of land. It's really just some land, an intention, and ... and a tent. A tent with a S'dekai.
Yeah, I kind of screwed myself on this one. I'm not going to lie about that.
On the plus side, she and Iachixth leave said tent quite often! They've taken it on themselves to not only live off the land like a (completely inadequate and inexperienced) pioneer and a part of that is finding resources such as more water, food of the animal and plant sort, maybe a place to grab firestone, where their nearest neighbors are, and if there are any wild whers running around to murder them. If there's a possibility of your character being at any of the nearby Holds that tithe to Trine or on the water or if you can think of anything, I would be 100% happy to have them meet.
Unfortunately she can't hit up Trine or the Wherholds because of the, uh. Stuff that went down. She's probably not welcome there. I'm not sure how they'd get the coordinates either just yet until it's known they're not going to, like, Trojan Horse anything. I think.
OH and Crafters! I've been batting around the idea of her visiting Craft Halls not attached to a single Weyr in order to try and talk with people there, along with attempting to get information on this craft or that craft. If you have someone who could plausibly be at a Crafthall, that would also work! biggrin

If I may, I think the carrier pigeon idea would be good as it doesn't involve firelizards whose owners could find her from the visuals or impressions their firelizards could give them?
In other words, it might be more privacy. Especially if Natai isn't sure about certain people trying to help?

Bereck can likewise arrange for neutral meetings to happen! He's in close contact with Natai and has a stock of between points around Pern to give to other riders, or take non riders to in order to meet with her!
