Malus would love to have been running around and helping find more eggs but there was two problems. One it was dangerous, not that she minded at all! But someone had pointed out that she didn't have any powers and thus was fairly useless. She had scoffed at them, she'd rescued one of the eggs! With the help of her new friends.

And the second, the real reason she wasn't out trying to find more eggs and beat up villains was that she was hungry. So the preteen had wandered around until ran into a food court and grabbed a tray. Some of the staff looked at her weird because she was holding an apple while trying to put food on her plate, but she ignored them. Her apple was magic! It wasn't food.

She grabbed some tatter tots, chicken nuggets, a milk and a slice of watermelon. After paying for her food, which is hard when one is trying to juggle a tray, apple and wallet all at the same time. She started to look for a place to sit and eat.

Xiao was most unsure of the situation, but even more so was her guardian. The tiny little girl wasn't too good at keeping close to him, though today she seemed to be okay with following the rules. Perhaps it was the ominous messages, though neither one of them seemed to know what was really going on, much less what could happen. It seemed like a good thing to mull over lunch.

Thus, the two had gone to eat, already having gone through the line with their very different meals. Dino much preferred red meat, though Xiao would love nothing more than a piece of baked salmon on a bed of rice. She also was quickly learning how to fuss with her chopsticks, as opposed to her more fork oriented guardian. Neither of them seemed to mind though.

Perhaps it was fate that there was an empty seat at their table, though neither seemed to notice Malus, both engrossed with their food. Xiao, far too short to sit at the table, was swinging her legs as she ate, humming all the while.

It took Malus a while to find a table with an empty seat, and the second she spotted one she darted over to it as fast as she could while weaving though the crowded cafeteria. She was relived when she finally made it over to the table, and miraculously without spilling any of her food.

"Excuse me. Do you guys mind if I sit here?" She asked. The preteen probably looked silly trying to balance her food with an apple in her hand. After all most people would have the apple ON the tray, but then again most people didn't have a magical apple they carried around with them. Not that you could tell it was magic by looking at it. It simply looked like any other ordinary red apple with a little brown stem.
