XXXXXXXX[Nikandros]
It was an extraordinarily rare occurrence for the Kirin to leave his place of rest and wander far into the mountains. Regardless of the fact that he may have cast his eternal war to the side, some traditions and beliefs still died hard. He was a spirit of the water, intrinsically connected and the further in land he went, the more wary he became. For him, water was life, and while the earth might embrace it when it desired it (frequently), it also tried to control and mould it (again, frequently).
However there were times when caution and wariness could be placed to one side and this happened to be one of them. When the tiny soquili had come crashing into his life, landing squarely against his cheek, it had certainly given him a jolt. He had immediately snapped out of his meditation and fallen into the water, though not without noting that she had done the same - the difference was that she had been knocked out and well... she seemed to lack any strength to pull herself up.
With a quick flick of his tail, he had managed to swoop and tangle her briefly in the long strands of hair, and with just a touch more effort, he pulled himself back to the shore. It was only when he had shaken himself down that he untangled the small mare from his grasp; and it wouldn't have taken a genius to realise that she was still unconscious. The fact that she was unconscious was not his immediate concern though, it was her wings...
He had seen butterflies and moths alike take a tumble into the water, once they had done so the damage was usually irreparable. He could already see that the poor mare's wings lacked their shimmer and as such, they would most likely fail to become airborne.
As he had never been an expert in healing he had done the only thing he could, scooping her into his grasp once more and heading to the hills. He didn't deviate and kept to the familiar trail, seeking out the mare who had provided him a sanctuary while he dealt with his own conflicted thoughts. Suffice it to say that if any one could help the petite female wrapped safely in his tail, it was going to be her...

XXXXXXXX[Resynn]
Life had been quiet for both he and his mate as of late, in fact, he would have been so bold as to say that the slopes in which he and his allies lived had been peaceful. There was talk of war of course and mention that there were a number of efforts in the low lands to pursue threats against them, but beyond that visits had been few and far between. Life had continued as normal and each family and neighbour pursued their own hobbies without a care in the world. Unsurprisingly this lack of activity had both it's advantages and disadvantages...
The advantages were numerous in the sense that he had watched his mate transform from somewhat neurotic and troubled, to peaceful and demure. They had had the opportunity to talk, and by talk he meant really talk, to the point that she now understood what he'd done. She had no concerns about her feelings for her 'superior' officers because he had retired and technically he had instigated it so she wasn't in trouble... And he had long since pointed out that he had dismissed the accusations that she was a deserter.
She was a deserter for technicalities sake, but he had argued she was a priest and ill suited to warfare.
Their relationship had blossomed as a result and he had to admit that life in a peaceful and safe unit was refreshing. However, that did lead him to the slight disadvantages that came with peace.
...First and foremost he and many other guards and scouts alike, were very bored. The second, was that if none of them sparred and practised on a regular basis they would lose their finesse. Unfortunately quite a few had already fallen out of practice, but he was pleased to see that Sylph was taking measures to correct this.
Nevertheless despite these few disadvantages he preferred his life as it was now, and as such it was with great surprise that he noted the familiar, scaled kirin on the horizon. Whiskers and coral bobbing as he walked, and blue scales gleaming in the sunlight. It was most bizarre to see him this far from the water, but he seemed set on his course and Resynn saw no reason to wait for him.
Bridging the gap between himself and Nikandros, he lifted a brow, though a pleasant smile remained on his lips.
"You are a long way from home, Nikandros."

XXXXXXXX[Nikandros]
The blue stallion was not surprised to find that Resynn was out on patrol, if anything it would have been cause for concern if it wasn't. Regardless of how peaceful these lands might be at the moment, the wind stallion had always appreciated the necessity to keep the borders secure. Nikandros had no doubt that if the scouts in this area stopped taking these precautions, then it would quite literally come to bite them in the a** some day. Granted he would be curious to see how well they might scramble into action, but he would rather not see any unnecessary bloodshed.
Suffice it to say that he had seen enough of that already.
Nevertheless at the sound of the thick, Russian accent, Nikandros offered a warm smile of his own and bowed his head in respect towards the winged male. I had been quite some time since they had last seen each other and Resynn had long since realised where Nikandros was most comfortable. While Shizukii may have been predominantly responsible for his recovery and revelations, that didn't mean that Resynn had been kept in the dark during some of his struggles...on occasion, the male had been able to provide more insight than his mate could.
"I am," the Kirin agreed and swept his tail around to display the unconscious flutter in his grasp. She had scarcely moved throughout the journey and he was beginning to suspect she was more than a little concussed!
"However I seek assistance as this is most definitely outside my area of expertise," he confessed and tilted his head to the side. "I was hoping that perhaps Shizukii might have something at her disposal to help?"

XXXXXXXX[Resynn]
He motioned with his head for the Kirin to follow him, only sparing a brief glance at the little flutter gripped in Nikandros's tail. This was beyond his area of expertise and he was not going to cast judgement upon it, the only thing he could do that was of use, was to take him to Shizukii. If he was honest this was probably for the best, as the mare was beginning to lose her marbles to an extend. Well, it wasn't that she was going crazy but her enthusiasm for certain hobbies was beginning to drive him a little round the bend. After all, he wasn't exactly interested in clothing, jewellery or anything else for that matter so he had very little interest in hearing about stitching methods.
Nevertheless, despite her renewed interest and love for her hobbies, she was lucky that he rather liked the sound of her voice. Musical, sultry and with just the faintest hint of a familiar accent, he was perfectly to zone out and listen to the sound even if he tended to ignore the words!
"You had best come this way then," he murmured and strode towards his home. They weren't too far away from it as he had always taken to wing if he needed to survey large distances, thus it wouldn't take much time at all for them to reach his mate. That being said he wasn't entirely certain as to whether or not he would be able to get her attention without kicking a rock in her general direction - that hobby was really a pain in the backside to deal with on occasions!

XXXXXXXX[Shizukii]
Months and even years had passed before the mare had been truly comfortable in her own skin. It had taken a great deal of reassurance, long conversations and many a promise to make her aware that she was no longer the object of scrutiny in her homeland. When she had come to accept that, the mare had quickly settled into a much calmer and relaxed mare. It had taken her longer still to find fulfilment, seeking hobbies and activities that would otherwise fill her with a sense of purpose and achievement now that she no longer had a reason to run.
Purpose aside, it had taken her even longer to settle into the realisation that it was okay to have the feelings she felt for the stallion who had once been her superior officer! While she might have had those feelings long before she had fled the military, she had still been unable to settle when he re-entered her life. She had been so sure that he was here to return her for trial or simply execute her, that it had come at more than just a 'shock' when he had advised her of the following:
- He had long since left the military. - He had always intended to retire so that he could pursue her. - He had pardoned her by arguing that she had never been recruited for military duty.
In essence, if she hadn't leapt to conclusions as a young mare then life might have been very different for her. Nevertheless, she had grown during that time and become much stronger, so she couldn't regret what she had learnt while she was fleeing for her life.
Fortunately when each point had managed to settle itself in her mind, she had taken to it like a duck to water and she very much enjoyed the more peaceful life. Her neighbours were there for company when they needed to be, she could find gossip when she wanted to, and then they also kept to themselves whenever privacy was desired. All in all her life now was a considerable improvement on the constant wandering that had guided her life up until this point.
With this in mind it should have come at no surprise that Shizukii had also gotten used to the peace and tranquillity of the slopes, and she hadn't been expecting any visitors. Thus, her expression was one of considerable confusion when she detected not one set of hoof-steps, but two. Perhaps it was a friend of Resynn?
Curious, the mare released her hold on the cloth she had been tending to and stepped outside - it wasn't long before a smile instantly alighted her features as she realised that who was accompanying her beau.
"Nikandros!" she announced with considerable enthusiasm. "It has been so long!"

XXXXXXXX[Nikandros]
Evidently Nikandros would not be required to yell loudly, nor would Resynn have to kick any rocks, as Shizukii had come out to find out what the commotion was on her own. As such, the stallion provided the mare with a warm smile, years might have passed but she remained as hospitable as always. Even Resynn seemed visibly relieved that he wouldn't have to create chaos in order to get her attention, evidently she had a little more awareness than he gave her credit for, eh?
"Yes it has, Shizukii," he replied gently and stretched out his tail for the female to inspect. "Unfortunately I do not come for a social visit though," he explained, displaying the flutter in his grasp. He had been gentle throughout his journey but he was still concerned that he might have applied too much pressure at certain points and caused lasting damage. "Rather I require your assistance with this petite creature."
He allowed her a moment to inspect the small form.
"She flew into me during high winds and rain, by the time I had caught her she had been submerged for some time."

XXXXXXXX[Chisato Meii]
Up until this point, Chisato Meii had been drifting between that strange, light sleep that signalled unconsciousness, and a dizzy sense of awareness. She had known she had bumped into something, it had been rock solid and there had been nothing she could have done to avoid it. A combination of sudden high winds and rain had captured her and unceremoniously tossed her against whatever it was she had hit. After that everything had been a blur, she vaguely remembered water, but no sooner had she been submerged than she was moving again.
It had been a gentle lull, a little sway here and there... Whatever was moving her was very warm and had shielded her from the poor weather as they continued to move. However the further the distance they travelled, the more she began to wake up. Granted it was much easier for her to keep her eyes shut, for her head pounded and much to her concern, her wings were rather sore too. Nevertheless, now and then a scent would catch her nostrils and she couldn't help but feel like there was some sort of familiarity.
...She had been here before?
Alas, she was incapable of asking at this time, too dazed to hold a conversation and so she had rested in silence. The only indication that she was awake was the quiver, shake and perk of her ears as Resynn, Nikandros and Shizukii spoke. However even then, it was going to require some close observation to catch sight of that given her petite size!

XXXXXXXX[Shizukii]
She rarely treated flutters, but they weren't completely foreign to her and she had long since assumed that certain aspects of their physique were heavily influenced by butterflies. As a result, she would have placed a fair amount of money on the fact that this influence would also ensure that they could be treated through the same methods. However the flutter was so small that she was required to come closer, and as such, she took extra care to wrap her pendant around her horn before she lowered her head to inspect the unconscious creature.
Suffice it to say that she initially assumed that the flutter might be dead, for she couldn't see the rising and falling of her chest, but eventually the ears twitched and swivelled to indicate that while her eyes were shut, the flutter was still alive...even if she was in a little bit of pain. Relieved, the mare then placed a smile on her lips and used her own tail to extract her from Nikandros's grasp.
"Well she isn't dead," she confirmed softly, lifting the flutter up to her nose and blowing softly so that Meii gave just a little shiver in response. "Her wings will need time to dry, provided that they aren't torn she should be able to recover without too much issue," she explained and then pursed her lips. "But if her wings are torn there is no guarantee that she will be able to fly again, I am unaware of whether or not unicorns possess the ability to heal that kind of injury."

XXXXXXXX[Chisato Meii]
The pressure lifted whenever Shizukii took her into her grasp and Meii was able to release a small sigh of relief. While Nikandros may have kept her warm he certainly didn't have the most tender of touches and she had been left struggling to breathe! Unsurprisingly with the pressure lifted from her middle some of the pain also began to dissipate - her head still ached and her wings still gave little throbs, but neither of these was quite so insistent. It was enough for her to slowly and tentatively open her eyes, squinting as the light of the Kirin's pendant assaulted her eyes. Had her head not been pounding she would have been fascinated by its beauty but right now...all it did was make her groan.
Lifting a hoof she soon placed it over her eyes, hiding until they had adjusted to the light. She still didn't have enough co-ordination to recognise where she was, but she did have enough focus to concentrate on who and what was immediately in front of her. She'd almost forgotten how big non-flutters were whenever she was this size and Shizukii's eyes looked absolutely huge - Meii afforded a smile at that, though she did eventually turn her head to stare at the second Kirin and the wind.
Suffice it to say that she soon realised that Nikandros was the wrong she had smacked into - he was the right colour and had the same sheen to him. Oof, who would have thought his cheek was that hard? She hadn't quite noticed yet that his cheek was actually swelling where it had been 'punched' but then again, her powers of observation were considerably lacking in her dazed state.
...The only thing she had taken from this conversation was that she was not going to be flightless, or rather, so long as she didn't have holes in her wings she wouldn't be flightless. A flicker of panic crept into her stomach and she tried to turn to gaze at her wings, unfortunately this proved impossible based on how stiff her neck was. Surely she would have known if her wings were torn, they would hurt more, right?
Oh but what was she going to do if she WAS flightless!
Her expression became alarmed and she once again tried to stare at her wings, alas she failed and she soon released a mew of panic. In response they gave a slow twitch, a ghost of a mild flutter to let her know that they were there at the very least. Surely if she held very still and held her wings flat the larger mare would be able to see them?
"They aren't torn are they?" she breathed, her small voice raised to the point that Shizukii would have had no difficulty hearing her.

XXXXXXXX[Shizukii]
Shizukii couldn't help but chuckle as the flutter opened her eyes, surmising that the smaller soquili had been unintentionally squished by the concerned stallion. Now that she had space to breathe, Meii had opened her eyes and better yet, she was also talking. If Shizukii had been concerned that Meii may have been able to make a recovery, these negative thoughts were now dismissed. The flutter was conscious, all-be-it dazed, and she was coherent, if she had been in a more precarious condition then she wouldn't have been capable of such things. Alas, she was going to have a splendid headache if Nikandros's swelling was anything to go by!
Unsurprisingly the flutter mare was panicked over the condition of her wings, having heard Shizukii's remarks she was now struggling to see if they were in good condition. While Shizukii knew that it would be difficult to confirm if there was any minor damage, she would at least try to inspect for the more substantial damage. Thus the mare drew in closer to inspect, shining her pendant upon the now dulled wings.
Fortunately for Meii she seemed to be in the clear, Zukii was unable to see any substantial damage but she wasn't about to make any promises either! In all honesty, Zukii suspected that Meii was going to need to have an additional visit with Farsiris...if only to ensure that her wings were healed correctly - a precaution as it were.
"Your wings do not appear to be torn, little one," she offered at last and withdrew. "However I should think that when your head has stopped spinning and your wings are dry, we should take you to one of our resident healers," she advised.
"Farsiris is not far from here and she is very skilled, in the event that you need more care, she will be able to provide it."

XXXXXXXX[Nikandros]
Whoops, so he may have unintentionally crushed the poor flutter in his attempts to seek help! Nikandros might have felt guilty had it not been for the fact that he had in fact ensured she was safe. She wasn't harmed beyond the impact damage and if he was entirely honest, she'd left him with a rather massive bump too! Suffice it to say that the swelling on his cheek was going to be a bit of a talking point and he was going to look more than just a little ridiculous for a while. Regardless, the stallion had remained nearby while Shizukii had inspected the flutter and had held a brief conversation with Resynn until she was finished.
It was only when he had been reassured that the flutter would be fine that he elected to take his leave. As much as he appreciated the company and hospitality of his friends, he was not the most comfortable in the mountains. He wished to return home to the comfort of his lake, where he could continue to meditate and hopefully avoid any further collisions - after all this wasn't the first time it had happened. The only thing different about this collision was the fact that it had been a flutter, he was thankful for small favours in that respect.
...Last time it had been a Kiri-lona.
"Then I will leave her in your very capable hands, Shizukii," he said at last with a wry smile. "I should think I would like to return to the lake, the mountain air might be refreshing but my scales are not the greatest fan of the dry air," he confessed.
Offering a nod, the Kirin then backed away, and with the company of Resynn he made his way back down the slopes while Shizukii tended to her new patient.

XXXXXXXX[Chisato Meii]
Wait a minute, had she just said 'Farsiris'? Meii was given pause for thought and as that name was mentioned she let her gaze slip from Shizukii, to the slopes that she now found herself in. All of a sudden the area seemed more familiar and with the combination of scent, visual cues and the name she was suddenly aware of where she was. How strange fate was that it had taken her back to her Aunt! Oooh but it seemed Farsiris had achieved her goal of becoming a healer too, she had to wonder just had long it had been since she had last visited!
"Farsiris?" she asked and then smiled tentatively, though it did cause her head to pulse a little. "She's my cousin," she confessed and settled into Shizukii's grasp. All things considered Shizukii's touch was both gentle and warm, so she was more than happy to stay put until her head stopped aching. Nevertheless, when she was capable of concentrating and making herself larger again, she would definitely be intent on seeking out her cousin.
...While it was reassuring that there was no damage of note, Shizukii was right when she had said that she should be safe rather than sorry. For now though? Well, for now she supposed she should make herself comfortable as it was clear that Shizukii was some form of healer as well and looked unlikely to release her from her care until she was certain it was safe.
