XXXXXXX[Azelle]
She wasn't generally the type of soquili to meddle in the lives of distant relatives, especially when they often had their heads screwed firmly on their shoulders and weren't known for depressive states. However unbeknownst to the vast majority of the family, most of which lived quite the distance away, this particular family member had suffered a rather painful shock. It had been enough of a trauma to knock her into a stupor and take the wind out of her often full and billowing sails.
She of course referred to Zucutto, or 'Ziggy', for short.
It had taken a little bit of digging, but the Kalona mare had soon found out that her distant relative had recently been dumped... or more accurately, she had left in pursuit of some materials and returned to find that she had been replaced by a younger, more beautiful model. There had been no remorse, no apology, no guilt, she had just been cast to the wayside in a manner that had decimated her self confidence.
Alas she had been so young when she had fallen in love that she had been left with a lasting impression that would have undoubtedly caused issues at a later date if it were not addressed now. If Azelle didn't act now the mare would always think that she needed a stallion to define her and to ensure her happiness... Of course this was all based on assumption and opinion, and for that reason she had brought a second opinion with her.
"So you see," she continued to speak as she navigated her way through the undergrowth towards Ziggy's new home. "I'm rather worried she won't break herself out of this rather foul state if she remains as she is," she confessed and glanced over her shoulder towards the hulking unicorn. He was a rather reputable doctor and she had sought him out deliberately as she knew that using a family doctor would prove to be a liability.
"That's why I need your help, if only to confirm what the underlying issue is and whether or not there is anything we can do for her in the short term...you know, rather than just hoping she'll snap out of it."

XXXXXXX[Flael]
He had listened in silence for the most part, following after the Kalona mare as she explained the issue. She had initially been very vague in her request, only stating that she required assistance with someone who had suffered a trauma and that she had sought him out specifically for this purpose. Nevertheless he had received vaguer requests in his time and it was for this reason that he now found himself with Azelle. He had been fortunate in the sense that once he had agreed, she had then began to explain the issues for him.
The unicorn's experience had been focused in military traumas, that was his speciality. He was not skilled in basic psychiatry, particularly in the case of broken hearts, however the way she explained the situation did seem to indicate that he might be able to assist her. According to Azelle, whoever this patient was, she had experienced a shock that had changed her completely... In a manner of speaking it was similar to traumatic stress. He had treated fallen warriors for this before in the past, and he continued to do so, if the symptoms were the same then he might be able to supply some very limited assistance.
Alas, he gave no promise.
Lips pursed and head bowed, he focused more on dodging the low lying branches and obstacles in his path than he did on his guide. Nodding every now and then to her words until she at last lapsed into silence. Well, he was grateful that she hadn't automatically assumed that he could cure anything, she had simply requested his expertise and his opinion.
"Very well," he replied after a few moments, his voice rumbling from his chest as he finally spoke. "I will see her and if I believe that she is in need of further treatment then I will advise you."

His accent was most peculiar, he had barely spoken a word when they had first met, mostly due to the fact that she hadn't given him the opportunity to do so. To his credit he had been most accommodating and continued to be, all things considered there were a great many soquili who would have told her where to go by now, or long before. With that in mind she could only surmise that where he came from they had a different culture, perhaps where words were not always necessary, or where others were given the benefit of the doubt? Perhaps it would be something to ponder at a later date...
"Of course," she replied, drawing to a halt a short distance away from Ziggy's home. She then turned to Flael, her lips pursing into a thin line - it wasn't like her to hesitate but she had to confess that she almost hoped he was capable of a miracle cure of some form. Sadly, she had been round Chetan enough to be realistic and she knew deep down that it most likely, wouldn't be possible. Alas, all she could possibly hope for was that he would be able to give her some guidance or direction... If she needed to set Ziggy on a new routine then she would!
"I'm not expecting miracles, as much as I would hope for one," she confessed with a wry smile and motioned with her wing to the Zucutto, a mare who had elected to regard them with curiosity, though she had the decency not to intrude on their conversation or move to within earshot. "Even if it's simple suggestions I would be grateful," she continued and pushed a smile on to her lips.
"And if it's more complicated than that...then we'll work it out."

XXXXXXX[Flael]
"Of that you have my word," Flael offered, hazarding a stiff smile as he too came to a halt and turned his attention to the curious soquili in the distance. Even at a glance he could tell that she was physically healthy and that whatever trauma she might have experienced, was not so troubling as to leave her emaciated. However, he was a stranger (and male at that), so approaching her outright would have caused a number of issues to flare up. If he was going to succeed in assessing the girl then the first step was not to intimidate her.
With this in mind he motioned towards Ziggy with a nod of his head and lifted a brow. He had no intention of approaching her without introduction and as Azelle had brought him here, and he had arrived with her, it only seemed fitting that she should do the honours. Nevertheless he had noted that in this land not everyone recognised the obvious and as a consequence he soon cleared his throat.
"Perhaps you would be so kind as to introduce us, it is not exactly appropriate for a stranger to approach at random in someone else's home," he said. There was a light hint of humour in his tone as he spoke, one that indicated he was not about to go into this meeting stiff and professional as he would have bet all his possessions on that going down like a led balloon!

XXXXXXX[Zucutto Sohalia]
Zucutto Sohalia had always been raised as a polite soquili and while she might have been boisterous or overly excitable on occasions, she would always rein herself in when her family brought strangers home. Admittedly there would have been a time when she wouldn't have minded regardless, considering exposure to all facets of her family's crazy nature to be a right of passage but recently... Well, she could appreciate a more measured approach, it didn't draw as much attention and she wasn't asked as many questions.
However, when the pair elected to stay still and converse, rather than to bridge the distance between her and them, she did have to wonder what on earth they were up to. After all, the stallion in her presence wasn't Chetan and Ziggy sincerely doubted that her relative was quite so loose...especially when it was all too clear that Azelle had a mild obsession when it came to Chetan.
Actually that obsession had always proved quite amusing.
Now she could only envy it.
Nevertheless, when it seemed apparent that neither was going to do this, the young mare took the first steps herself, catching the tail end of their conversation in the process. It should have come at no surprise that her expression was therefore bemused when she heard the stallion's voice - it seemed the Kawani lands were becoming more and more diverse every day.
"Oh I don't know," she broke the silence, her tone mild but lacking its usual lustre. "I'm used to strangers wandering into my home, I have a habit of attracting them," she confessed before turning her attention to Azelle.
"Why would I need introduced to a stranger...exactly?"

XXXXXXX[Flael]
This was a conversation that he knew was not going to go well if Azelle chose to answer, and while he could appreciate she had the gift of the gab, she wouldn't really have the expertise to work out what to say. As a consequence, Flael elected to take the brunt of the potential abuse and stepped forward, offering a courteous bow towards Ziggy when she had finally approached the pair. As he had suspected she was in very good physical condition and her coat shined indicating that despite her emotional strain, she wasn't lapsing.
That being said she did have dull eyes and a somewhat strained smile which he surmised was a direct result of what she had experienced. However, for all her lack of physical ailments, he had known those with traumas to suffer more painfully from mental afflictions and he wasn't about to dismiss her outright.
"You will have to forgive my intrusion, I was summoned here by your family member," he said at last and offered Azelle a warm smile, she had opened her mouth to explain and had been left gaping when he got there first! "She, as with a number of your family were concerned that you were unwell," he explained and cleared his throat. "Undoubtedly you are in fine physical shape," he added, causing Ziggy to hazard a smile.
"However while I am sure your family are perhaps a touch over concerned, I agreed to offer my assistance. With that in mind, would you suffer my presence for a short while? I assure you it is to make certain I have enough evidence to reassure your family -" he leaned forward so that Azelle could neither see his wink or hear his whispers.
"That you have not gone completely crazy."

XXXXXXX[Zucutto Sohalia]
So this was about Azrael? The mare was aware that she hadn't been herself as of late and as a consequence she had been less vocal and less bubbly. However Ziggy would have argued that based on her experience she needed time to recover; after all, it wasn't every day you came home to discover you had been replaced with someone much younger and much prettier... what hurt the most was that she wasn't that old herself. It had dented her confidence to the nth degree, but that didn't mean she was in need of treatment.
She wasn't traumatized!
Nevertheless, the more Flael spoke, the more she realised that he was perhaps on her side. He seemed to know what he was talking about and as she evidently hadn't exhibited any signs that his usual patients might have, he sought only to temper her family. She could appreciate that, granted she wasn't sure she would be prepared to answer many of his questions but she would do what she felt comfortable with.
...Perhaps that would be enough?
"All right," she said with a small sigh and shook her head at Azelle before glancing at Flael. "But only in private, okay?"
Having stated her terms, the mare backed away and proceeded to walk back towards her wooden 'hut', ducking underneath and away from view. Flael may have needed to dissuade Azelle of the necessity to follow, or she may have received that message herself, but she wasn't prepared to debate the issue. Suffice it to say that if Flael wanted his answers he was going to have to come on his own while Azelle waited outside.
She could find out later that Ziggy was not as bad as people assumed.

Azelle did not require any further nudging and instead, she made herself comfortable outside while Flael followed after Ziggy. The stallion had to give the Kalona credit where it was due, as she certainly appeared to appreciate where the boundaries were and had no intention of disputing them. As this was such a rare occurrence for a doctor to encounter, Flael had been rather startled that he hadn't had to dissuade her - for some reason family always wanted to listen, offer advice and ultimately meddled when it wasn't required.
Thus he soon followed her inside, pleasantly surprised that he didn't have to duck and offered a wry smile. "You know that it's extremely rare for family to do as they're told?" he offered, referring to Azelle as he came to a halt inside her abode and turned to face Ziggy. "I think I spent more time shooing them away that I do assisting the patients I treat," he confessed with a small sigh, finally shaking his head.
"I appreciate that you may not want the company or prying eyes, but in the circumstances I'm sure you understand where your family might be coming from," he began and tilted his head to the side. "While I sincerely doubt that you have even form of post traumatic stress, if you did it could cause considerable issues for you at a later date and we do not need or want that..."
"So we will start with an introduction from me - my name is Flael, and I will be the one you will be advising that you do not need or want, yes?"

XXXXXXX[Azelle]
There were times when Azelle wished to be nothing more than a fly on the wall so that she could listen to what was being said and now was one of those times. However, she could appreciate why she had been dismissed and knew all too well that it was likely she probably would have said something she shouldn't have. Thus the mare had been relegated to the bench, sitting outside while she waited for Flael and Ziggy to finish their discussion.
...It was a discussion that ended up lasting at least an hour.
By this time, Azelle had almost gone stark raving mad from boredom, and when both had emerged, Ziggy with a tentative smile on her lips and Flael offering one of his own, she stood up abruptly. Peering at both expectantly (though more so at Flael), she waited for at least one of them to say something. Alas it wasn't meant to be in that brief instant as Flael made his goodbyes and with a nod to Azelle, motioned for her to follow.
Soooo was it bad news or good news?
"Well?" she asked at last, unable to contain both her curiosity, or her concern any more. "Is she going to be okay?"

"Zucutto is fine," he replied when he was satisfied that he was out of earshot of Ziggy. It had been just as he had expected, the mare's confidence had been dealt a blow but in the end it wasn't fatal. All she needed to do was take a moment to herself, relax and then find her feet - she would come out of her stupor whenever she was ready and eventually, be just as bubbly as she was before.
"She exhibits no signs of trauma, she is for all intents and purposes, suffering from a broken heart and a lack of self confidence," he explained and shook his head. As Azelle had said herself, Ziggy had been very young, and was still young, so at this point in time she assumed that her life was over when it came to love. It was going to take her time to recover her confidence and trust, but to assume she was depressed to the point of no return would have been foolish.
"Given time she will be back to normal," he continued and then paused abruptly, flicking his gaze towards Azelle in a moment of clarity. It wasn't often that he meddled in what he referred to as 'teenage angst', even in its adult form, but he did note the necessity for one piece of advice.
"...The only thing I can advise is that she does not settle with another stallion until she finds her stride again, otherwise if that heartache happens again it could prove devastating," he pointed out.
Lapsing into silence, he allowed Azelle to question him as they continued on their way.
She may have been satisfied that there was no permanent damage, but that didn't mean she didn't need further information that might help her expedite Ziggy's recovery!
