Valyrmora Val is ultimately the protector of the Underworld.
Within the Underworld, beyond the halls of judgement and the flowing rivers, across harsh terrain unreachable by any but the most determined lies Val's realm. Those that make it there are rewarded with rolling hills, soaring mountains and the magnificent hall of Feasts
Val’s paradise exists between death and rebirth, the souls of children and the restless dead often end up in the groves and grasslands to rest and find peace before they are ready to move on to their next life. Those souls who chose not to be reborn also may find home there, it is a paradise where no soul should want for anything.
Those who die in battle and honoured heroes are brought to the halls of Feasts home of the Valkyries. Here they may spend the rest of their afterlife in a joyous retirement, feasting, drinking and sharing stories of their battles and quests. Rebirth is of course available to those who wish to accept it.
To most mortals Val is a benevolent deity, a protector of the innocent dead. Parents of deceased children may leave offerings to her.
To warriors she is what is to come, the inevitable. They would look to her to protect them in the afterlife and carry symbols and tokens into battle.
Personality: At Peace she is a flamboyant goddess, happy, raucous and generous. She likes a party and was probably the driving force behind the celebrations of The Day of the Dead.
In Battle she is also a fierce protector and will fight to uphold the honour and sanctity of the Underworld and the Pantheon. She helps lead the Valkyries into war and has a fierce battle cry that shakes the earth to its very core.
Likes:
Drink, Food, Weapons, Training and fighting, children, warriors She enjoys laughter and prefers those who do not take themselves too seriously.
Dislikes: Cowardice, a lack of respect for the dead, murderers, those who lack honour.
Nergal
Her relationship with Nergal would be like many brothers and sisters, probably love/hate. She was certainly not amused with his relationship with Kore, an Aoidei and his bestowing of the title Queen of the Underworld on her. Though she would aid him in his work an act as a secondary judge if need be.
