Dreamery...Meta?
Deep within the Dream Away Headquarters, the many dream eggs, all of different types, are kept in the Rookery and frequently monitored by technicians. Those which are ready to hatch are taken away are prepared and very well looked after. The Dream Away Corporation can predict the dream type from the color of the egg, and usually the age and power types from monitoring an egg that is getting ready to hatch.

However, there are certain types of eggs that are handled another way. Those that are found to be...different, a certain way. These eggs are not to be hatched. They are taken away to be cleansed of this plague and set to incubate again. If they get too close to manifesting before being discovered, continuing to be exposed to that seeming sickness within them, the energy cannot be removed without destroying the egg and the soon-to-be Hatchling Manifest within. They do not yet know what a Manifest that hatches that way will be like, and are not prepared to find out just yet.
So far, things have only gotten that far one time. And the Dream Away Corporation lives in fear of the day that egg hatches, for it is coming quite soon...

That's right! There is going to be a META coming up. Pretty simple, and if you don't want to be involved, that's all fine and good. If you do, you're welcome to – all ages of characters will be welcome to join in the fun. The meta will start when the winners of the Flatsale are announced.
Feel free to make all conjectures or ask any questions you have.

The Black Egg – Part 2 The day was finally arriving – the black egg was due to hatch. A few techs and caregivers were in the observation room outside of the very carefully quarantined off hatching room. None were completely sure about the nightmare that would hatch, but were prepared to take good care of it and security was ready to handle any violent outbursts that may come before the new Manifest was calmed.
None of those people were conscious to see the egg hatch. The room had been locked when quarantine started and someone had thrown down an item that released a gaseous charge and sent everyone into the room into unconsciousness. The lone person in the room left standing pulled out the breathing apparatus after stepping into the room with the newly awaking hatchling.
The girl was given a few instructions – run right out of the hatchery doors and put as many eggs as she could into the bags she'd been given, then make her way into the living areas and hide out. Try to find a way to escape either to another world or to a good hiding spot. When she was hidden, her 'benefactor' would wait for her there.
The young nightmare wasn't sure how to feel, especially given what she was being told about all those people waiting outside the door, now unconscious. She'd been told she was being saved from these people trying to control her and bind her, and who was she to argue. So the girl took the simple outfit she'd been given and rushed out of the room, allowed out of the lock by her benefactor. It was time to begin collecting the eggs and make her escape before anyone really knew to look.

The Black Egg – part 3 Loud honking type sirens blared throughout the Manifests' Dimension, with flashing blue lights to let out the initial warning. There were procedures for types of emergencies in that realm, and the color of the lights tended to specify what. Green was major overhaul type things – a realm shift that might make things shaky for a time; Red was a dangerous event of some kind – a really deadly virus or invaders from another dimension trying to cause trouble, or just a severe outbreak of dream energy that had been being worked on; Blue was a good deal more harmless but tended to be for an 'unpredictable sort' on the loose.
The announcement that followed the blue flashing lights was simply and firmly read, but got the point across.
“Citizens. A possibly toxic and unstable Manifest has escaped from the Hatchery. All travel in and out of the Dimension will be temporarily closed off. Please do not panic – mass hysteria will make locating and calming the loose Hatchling more difficult. This Hatchling may or may not have eggs stolen from the Rookery, so please be on the watch for them and if one is found, please try to return it. Be careful if you engage his Manifest for he or she may be in hiding, and interactions may cause them to run. Try to stay in visible groups when out and about. Watch all young children, and keep alert. Thefts may occur during this time – we are not sure what this Hatchling needs to calm down, so try to not cause undue stress, for that may result in an outburst.”
The sirens died out after the message and the warning lights inside of buildings ceased. Outside, the lights still went off in blue periodically. The weather systems were dimmed to a rainy looking grey with soft winds in the hopes of bringing a more calmed and toned down atmosphere to things to hopefully ease the escaped Hatchling into a more lazed state.
In the Dreamery, there were techs in lines trying to catalog how many eggs had been stolen and how soon they'd be from hatching. But it was a difficult task, especially with no idea how long the new Manifest had been able to be unchecked taking eggs as they came out. It had been a few hours before anyone discovered the unconscious people in the room she'd been held in. For now, all that could be done was investigate, hope, and wait.
The Lockdown The first participant part of the meta is open! Users may start up mini-rps with each other to try and find more information during this event and try to keep each other safe and informed during this time. There are chances of many different things happening in the roleplays you open in this subforum. Our lost Manifest may enter and interact with you or your characters, or an egg may be found, or other things may come around. People participating will be individually contacted for a chance at those things. Individual rps with our villain may happen as well. Never know.
The next part of this meta will include an orp for those signed up, but for now, this is so people who have more tight schedules can get some participation in. You can set up rps anywhere in the city but people may be on more businessy terms than casual so games and things will be less open, but still present. Those who live out of realm will be given temporary housing because they are temporarily trapped here.
Those who may have missed the signup time are welcome to pm me with your reasons and I can see about letting you sign up late.

A Note About The Nightmare Type Ok since the nightmare infections are starting to pop up in the meta rps, I am going to explain you a thing about the nightmare type.
Each dream type at the Manifest Dreamery comes from certain types of dreams. Obviously. Each of these dream types has different powers and different potency at its most basic stage.
For example, while a dream where you are a cat playing with a ball maybe amazing and interesting for you, you can't deny the powers of it or that it grants are going to be at the very least different, and possibly less potent than say if you dreamed you were flying around shooting lasers from your eyes.
The best way to think of Manifests is as food. When you make a certain dish or item, there are certain spices or accents you add to it so it comes out tasting just right - stable, if you will. If you put soda syrup in your cup of unsweetened tea, that could come out really bad if you aren't careful how you do it. That's why Manifests, well, manifest the way they do. Their dream energy is weaved very carefully so they can stabilize into a person and such without just explosions of powers all over the place hurting them or others or just messing up the world.
The deal with the nightmare type is presently, that is unchecked potent dream energy being forced on much more contained dream types. You take a cup of lightly sweetened tea, very carefully brewed, then just dump in molasses, its going to start to make your drink just weird. Plus some things just don't mix quite right. You can bake horseradish into your cookies and pour molasses into your tea, but after a while they're going to be too saturated to mix further, so the added stuff will sort of overpower it.
Right now, Toxkickity is unstable because she is improperly weaved dream energy that just ate all of the existing dream energy there and twisted it. She was likely initially a supplemental or supernatural type but the nightmare type had taken such a firm hold of her egg she is now purely nightmare with just powers slightly like what she would have had. That's what happens when an egg is infected before it's really too developed and stays unchecked till it is fully consumed.
Those who are presently existing manifests that get infected sort of have a situation like the more potent energy of that concentrated dream type, like what Toxy is, is overpowering the very sparse and neatly woven dream types they are. And that's wrecking havoc on their systems if left unchecked and not carefully stabilized. This can also happen when exposed to a highly infected or purely nightmare egg (because some of those are going to be left out to get people too.)
The nightmare dream type, if stably manifested, would just be a more ferocious and scary type. This kind of potency from any other types - emotional, mystical - could be just as detrimental. The reason nightmare is a big deal right now, is because of that malevolence they weren't sure they wanted to test things with just now because it's potent and also dangerous to work with nightmare energy.
What this means for you guys is if your character gets infected, this does not mean they turn evil. This means they have the potential to have some nightmare energy growing in them. It can start to take over in some ways - such as turning them into a nightmare - or start to slowly turn them into a more hybrid form if treated right. If removed, it can be done safely or result in lasting physical or mental defects.
This is a really open opportunity chance. If you REALLY want your character to be infected, or left uninfected, talk to me about it and I will try to work out ways for it. Otherwise it'll be random what happens.

The Black Egg – Part 4 The nights and days hiding out around the Imaginarium Complex were taking their toll on “Toxkickity”. The woman who had told her to wait for further instructions with the stolen eggs wasn't really doing much to give her those further instructions, and hiding out with a bunch of slowly blackening eggs was weird. Why were they turning dark on her all of the sudden? They'd been pretty colors before, and now they were just all black and sickly seeming.
She'd found at least six more of those that were fully black or slowly turning that way and picked them up to put away with the others, unless she saw someone else heading to take them somewhere. Partly, the girl was sure that wherever she'd taken these eggs from wasn't so bad. After all – that room had been full of people who'd been ready to greet her when she hatched...they'd just all been unconscious. It was weird and kind of scary but none of the other people she'd met over this time were really...bad or anything. Or even scary. People around seemed more scared of her than she was to be of them. Even the guards looking for her hadn't seemed mean or scary, just trying to apprehend her safely – talking about stability.
Still, that locked room she'd woken up in was a frightening memory and she didn't like the idea of going back there. Wouldn't she be allowed out like all of the other Manifests? Maybe if she just went back...apologized and took the eggs. And yet, people seemed so frightened of the darkened eggs, talking about possibly having to destroy some. Her egg had been dark like that too hadn't it? They called it 'infected' by nightmare energy.
Really, it was strange to try and observe this energy. For her, the energy was an odd pinkish purple, but then darkened quickly, to a deep wine red then to the black after she'd touched the eggs. It was sort of like a bruise really. Toxkickity wondered if there were a way to fix that...Was she doing bad for these eggs by messing with them?
Once or twice, she'd spotted the person who broke her out wearing that odd gas mask and setting out a fully or almost fully darkened egg, leaving it for other manifests to find. Toxy was starting to wonder if those eggs were meant to infect the other manifests – she'd seen some get dark marks on them for a moment or two when she'd touched them or they'd touched one of those eggs. Was the person who set her free...bad? Trying to hurt some of the other manifests? Like that blue tinty one – she'd been kinda slow but Toxy hadn't minded her. Or the furry tailed one who didn't know what she was talking about – Toxy hadn't liked her but she didn't want her to get sick. What about those boys she helped put on the forklift? Were they hurt?
Hiding out and having such conflicted emotions was not helped out by a strange sickening feeling Toxkickity was experiencing. The weather was moderate summer weather with a cool breeze to suit the grey and cloudy sky...but half the time the girl felt like she was on fire, overheated and uncomfortable, but with the strangest chill. The girl had uncomfortable stomach-aches and dizzy spells and spasms all over the place, and it wasn't doing any good for her emotional difficulties.
After about a week or two of hiding out, the girl had been determined to take the eggs back and go to the hospital in the town to see if they could make her better...but she never got there.

The girl was still deep in a foresty section, where she'd found a bit of an entrance way to a mostly blocked off pool area, where she was managing to hide out in a cavelike formation. She'd gotten up to try and climb from her hiding place and start walking into the forest when the waves of blinding pain hit her and she had to rush back into the dark cave to escape even the tiny light flittering through the trees. She clutched at the walls and whimpered, strange inky liquid falling from her lips as she heaved and doubled over. Her head was spinning and pounding all at once and the girl was starting to lose herself in this bizarre fever.
With a bizarre shriek that shook the entire Imaginarium and even went so far as the Dreaming Domains, Toxkickity changed. Her form grew and pulsed with dark energy as she was essentially ripped between sizes, unable to stay way or the other, her body unsure of what it was. It seemed to all condense in and she was left with an even more painful and disconcerting fever, choking her out with pain, while the girl was able to climb back into her secluded outcropping and wrap around the bag of manifest eggs and just pass out as her body began to slowly change more solidly.

End part 4...
We will be taking a short break from the meta now, giving people time to finish up their rps and such. Icly the time between the very beginning of the meta and the very end will be two weeks tops – the time between this part and part 5 will be a day at most and part 5 itself will only be a few hours and a full ORP.
Part five is going to involve attempting to calm or control monster Toxy before she shrinks back to herself and escapes. Damage from her gives a very full chance of infection so be aware of this before you bring a character into the rp. Please don't bring 50 billion characters to the rp, just warning now because it is only going to count once for each player, and we don't want things getting bogged down. But you can still bring a few if you have them. Just be careful, yea?
There will be fighting in this part so just be prepared for that. It'll be pretty simple style, lots of just rolling, and guessing and just going with things. So get ready. Part 5 will be after a short break because Pales and I still have to work out some things that need to be ready to roll immediately after this chapter of the meta, and I am also going on vacation. I will be taking Tasty_Werwolf with me (or rather he's taking me with him) so muwahahaha.
I'll likely still pop on to chat but you know internet on vacations. Take this time to finish your rps, remember none can Icly start after today in the meta section. HOWEVER, this is a great time for reflections and I can give prompts for those. Or for catching up on pre-meta fluff with you characters. Just contact me if you need something to do. We're getting ready to roll out a whole ton of fun section for you guys and we're hoping you'll like it!
In other news, we will be getting our first nightmare types before the major Nightmare Squad event in a concept contest I'll be opening tomorrow for you guys! For the record, the difference here will be this: The Nightmare Squad are going to be the eggs that get specifically taken away with Toxkickity at the end of part 5 and will be returning for the new meta section ready to try and win their rights to separate territory and lives but also a way to stabilize them without forcing them to be constantly living like they're sick. They are fully nightmare type, and a tad unstable. The eggs in this concept contest will be either partly or fully infected and will be getting a lot of care from the Dream Away techs and doctors to be keeping them stable and safe. So that'll give you things to do with the characters.
So yeah. Be excited. OwO
