💧 Name: Calcifer 💧 Pronunciation:KAAL-sih-fer 💧 Name Meaning: Possible French derivative meaning "to calcify," from the Latin calx, meaning "limestone"; literary name of a fire demon 💧 Gender: Female 💧 Stage: Child 💧 Sexuality/Status: Unknown / Single 💧 Height: 4' 6 ½" 💧 Weight: Heavier than she looks, partially being molten stone 💧 Pokémon: Slugma / East Sea Gastrodon hybrid 💧 Nature: Brave (fortitudinous)
💧 Myers-Briggs Type:INFP (idealist type, healer role-variant) 💧 Personality: Calci's melancholy nature as a pokémon has dissolved into a far happier demeanor after discovering Jirachi's fallen star. She greatly enjoys being able to converse with both her fellow pokémon (or poké-persons) and the Gaians that travel through the area. Friendly and polite, she hates to rub others the wrong way with a misstep in her wording or actions. She is more commonly inclined towards silence, a listener more than a talker, which may give others the flawed impression that she is shy. Fidgety out of habit, she will no longer turn to stone if she doesn't stop moving, but that hasn't halted the ingrained muscle memory. As a ferryman, she enjoys helping others cross the river; all they need is to pay toll with a book, a good story, a song... creativity and imagination is key! 💧 Likes: Pirate stories have captured the young hybrid's attention to greater degree than other subjects. She enjoys the idea of so much freedom, so much space to roam, and above all else, the capability of being adrift at sea for such extended periods of time. She has a habit of pretending her little raft on the river is her own personal pirate boat -- at least, when she's by herself. Song has a habit of uplifting her spirits, and will hum while at work to project that feeling. Despite it being on the rarer end of the spectrum, Calci's favorite berry is the Starf berry. 💧 Dislikes: Calcifer's main concern was her inability to swim, or even to touch the water. Since her transformation into a partial water-type, this source of concern has been sidestepped, and the young hybrid has become a much more content girl, safe in her obsession with the element. Cold weather still poses an issue, and is not something the little magma slug has ever really enjoyed. Tipping further into the social scale, Calcifer dislikes frightening others -- at least when she's not trying to! Her self-conscious nature has brought with it a dislike for the lack of ability to stand up for herself when she gets flustered, embarrassed, or a meekness takes root. 💧 Other Quirks: The most blatantly bizarre point of the slugma-girl is her infatuation with the water, instilled within her since she was a tiny pokémon. Once it was revealed that her father was a water-type Gastrodon, the inclinations became more logical. Calcifer is fidgety and cannot sit still for long -- not out of impatience, but a slugma's instinct, despite not retaining the need in her new humanoid form. She still, however, has no need to sleep for recharging, as her movements are all that are required for the necessary energy to build up.

Calcifer was born a wild pokémon, and that is how she would prefer to stay. She enjoys the company of Gaians, don't get her wrong, but she would opt to choose family and friends over a chance acquaintance.

For much of Calcifer's young life, she lived with her mother, a magcargo that had taken ill before the young slugma was even hatched from her egg. With her mother cooped up, Calci was sent to the river to await her estranged father's return. She didn't know what he looked like, his personality, nothing... only that it was her mother's request, and her last one at that.
The young slugma grew fond over the river she kept vigilance near, considering it as a friend and companion where she lacked. It took her father years to return, and by then much had happened, though many sources of confusion had been assuaged.

Calcifer has made herself home in a small cave nearby the river south of town. It's cozy, though in need of some sprucing up now that the little slugma has grown. The materials and nick-knacks she's accumulated through her time as a ferryman are kept closer to the back, out of immediate sight. There is a charred trail leading from the threshold of the rocky mouth to the river's banks, testament to how Calci often spent her time before her transformation -- and how she often spends her time nowadays!

Calcifer's home has been acting more and more like a storage facility with the materials she has gathered over her time as a poké-child and onward. She doesn't seem to throw many things away, if anything at all. There might be some pretty interesting stuff in there!
💧 Various Books, Clothing Items, and Trinkets: While nothing seems to be of striking value, everything Calcifer has managed to gather through her times working as a ferryman are never thrown out. Quite the contrary, she loves all the items she can get her hands on! Even those without words scrawled or conveyed between her and her passengers seems to hold an untold story behind it, and they're all quite fascinating in their own respect -- some even useful to boot!
