Never Go To Work Again!

I like to call in sick to work when I'm not sick at all. I try to come up with exceedingly strange and unlikely excuses too. Last weekend it was because my left testicle was in pain and it's swollen, throbbing, uncomfortable presence in my jocks had kept me up all night. They didn't even bother calling me back after I left that message. I kind of wish they did. Y'know, like... for an in-depth explanation or something?

And the next time my boss whispers something in my ear while I'm working, I'm going to scream, "WHAT?! You can't say that to me! I'm going to call the ACLU!"

Hahahaha....

If I called in sick there would be no show.
neutral

ESPECIALLY for this one. Averaged out, there's something happening every 13.5 seconds. Someone can't just pick up my book and figure that out without seeing the show first.

And even showing up late for rehearsals is kind of a problem since it's my job to get things set up beforehand, make sure we have everyone and everything we need, keep us on schedule, make any announcements, collect any forms that need to be signed etc etc etc.
Never mind prompting lines or playing any sound we have...

Goddamn it's a busy job. And I like it that way.

But I can see how being easily replaceable can lessen one's work ethic.

This is great research for my book... "1001 Reasons You Can't Go to Work or School." It will be organized by male, female, duration of skipping work... hours-to-months, and how often they can be used. Grandma can only die twice, and you get 1-2 weeks. A flat tire shouldn't be used more than once every 3 months, and will only delays work 2-4 hours. Plus excuses to avoid, like things that require you to forge documentation or alibi's.

That's a great idea for a book.

I wish I worked for the schools, then I could call in sick anytime I wanted, cuz they'd request for a sub. It's that easy, even the crap people like the janitors get to call for a sub. stare Which is why I wanna work for the schools. crying

That's funny. I recently required an old 16mm projector, splicing kit and stack of old films from a high-school janitor that also taught art classes. He's moving to Alabama or something. I'm not sure if they'll find a substitute for him or not.

Oh yeah! Dude used to be some kinda hardcore biker so he had all kindsa badass tattoos and crap. I heard he used to creep on the girls at school (which is weird) but I thought he kinda seemed gay.

I'd never do that. All I care about is getting money. If I don't find a job by now until Mid august, then I have to continue ******** subbing against in this horrible district, which is stupid. stare I assure you, they don't even wanna give me a chance cuz I have a bachelor's degree, and they (the managers) fear I will take their jobs away within a few years.

I wouldn't mind working as a janitor for the rest of my life. It is interesting work.

I always went to work when I was sick. I got my first job when I was 16 and went on and started to work at a daycare in my senor year in high school. I never tried to miss work because I was the one in charge of the room. It annoyed a lot of the people that were older, also the people that had worked there longer then me.

I went into work before when I had Bronchitis, I was on medication for it so I could have worked. The director of the place scolded me very hard for coming in...she told me not to come back in until a week later or till my cough got better.

The next day I went back, and gave her the note from the Doctor saying I was on meds and should be fine to work. The issue wasn't the fact that I was coughing, she was worried that I was hindering myself from getting healed faster.

Yeah, well, working with kids or elderly there's a fine balance between work ethic and possibly infecting others. Sounds like you've figured it out, though.

I don't call in unless I have to, but that's cuz I have a summer job
Graduation weekend, graduating today. Have the whole weekend off
Another supervisor wants me cuz I worked in the photo booths last year and I'm in the fudge shops cuz I trust that supervisor more.
So, said photo booth supervisor sees that I'm not working and schedules me. I told my supervisor
If I get yelled at, I'm pointing out that she's not my supervisor anymore, so she shouldn't be scheduling me, and she clearly ignored the 'r' that means I requested the weekend off, so she's at fault, not me

Around here, teachers have to call and get their own sub if they want to skip work. At least they get a certain number of paid days off and paid sick days. How I miss that luxury.

I never call in sick. I'm an over-achiever. A try-hard.

And the few times I went to work tripping on psychedelics, I ended up quitting within a week. Cuz every time I go back to work it feels like a bad trip. lol

It's all about working near the river so when you go into work on psychedelics, you can kick off your shoes, build a raft and float to freedom like Huck Finn.

In all actuality, I rarely call in sick myself. I only work three days a week these days (just enough to pay the bills - I have too much on my plate to work full time) but until recently I've been known to work weeks or months without a day off.
