Welcome to The Secret War OOC Thread! Feel free to chatter, ask questions with one another or myself in this thread as much as you'd like.

I'm eagerly awaiting the beginning of this most interesting of events.

HOHO! This seems pretty sweet! You can expect my profile skelly soon.

Edit: What would bashing someone with a rifle butt count as? Melee?

Yes, using a ranged weapon as a Melee attack would draw from the Melee skill.

Cool. :D
I'll just need some time to read through everything first and then get some ideas.

For some reason I thought you might put this in Barton Town instead.

Updated the traditional vampire weaknesses, I forgot to put them in when I put the list together originally.

Here they are for reference.

Sunlight & Other Fatalities

Undeath grants the vampire regenerative health and many other boons, but they are not invulnerable by any means. Gunfire, stab wounds, even explosions will not kill a vampire but a vampire who sustains too many wounds in too short a time will suffer a True Death.

Fire prevents regeneration, as such, many vampire hunters will employ the use of torches or heat-based weaponry in their endeavors.

Crucifixes, Garlic and other stereotypical tropes do not affect a vampire in any way. Wooden stakes through the heart will not kill a vampire, but it will render them paralyzed until the stake has been removed.

Last but definitely not least: All vampires will die permanently and near-instantaneously if exposed directly to sunlight. Temporary (split seconds, etc.) or partial exposure will be considered excruciatingly painful but not lethal.

I've read through a bit more than half of it. This is a lot to digest in one go. sweatdrop

Ehehehehe.... Tonash. I'd love to try RPing this and get a feel for this game series too but I'm not really feeling it at the moment. I thought I would but looking at it now, I'm not so sure.

(By the way I just noticed the thread about a court-themed RP and I gotta say that now after I've finally played Phoenix Wright that... lol)

What's off-putting about it?

I'm not upset, I just want to know what's negative so I can potentially shift it, if not now then in the future.

leaning more towards yes I will join. Just gotta read
everything and then I will send in a profile. Expect it
by Tuesday at the very latest. I don't like to make
mistakes. :3

Amount of material. o 3o
I'm just busy, it's nothing wrong with the RP itself.

I guess I can try it still. Just give me a few more days.

Herro H2O =D (wonderpun powers ACTIVATE) <3

Yeah, I am usually a vampire hater, because liking
them usually instigates this topic of discussion: "Isn't
Edward Cullen a dream?!?!? DERP!?" So I avoid them
like the plague. And though Ann Rice is, in all fairness
an absolute genius, her writing style is usually droll, imo.

But I enjoy this. If you pulled this from some where, I want
to know where so I can read it. If this is yours. Then well, I
want to break open your head and have a one night stand
with your brain. =D (That's not creepy......)

Anyways. Expect my profile sooner than Tuesday as I read
through all the schtuff.

Okay, I hit a snag in my profile creation. What
kind of turn of the century time period are we
talking about? Do you have a year in mind?
Cause I am not sure how far back I am going
and what type of period that may look like.

Long long ago in a galaxy far away when Facebook was only for college students...

Around 2004, before smart phones but in a time where computers are continuing their ascent to godhood etc. etc. So, strong technological presence, strong media presence, nightlife is always happening etc.

Also, your previous question about source material, it comes from White Wolf Publishing, created by Mark Rein-Hagen as a tabletop pen and pencil game similar to Dungeons & Dragons. The name of the actual material is called Vampire: The Masquerade.

There was a very rushed and buggy game that was released that I based this particular roleplay off of called Vampire: The Masquerade, Bloodlines. It has a fantastic story, sweet voice acting and tons of choices, but because of the botched production, its extremely glitchy, you have to go through a ton of patches etc. to make it look proper and even then there are several things that are messed up (For instance, the Nosferatu clan was apparently not intended to be a playable race, but they rushed it in and so you get weird things that don't mesh with the story in a lot of instances.) All in all, its still a good game if you can get past the flaws and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Not to get us back on track or anything, but getting back on track: the mechanics I've adapted this to for the forums and the city it takes place in as well as any NPC characters etc. are all my creation.
