Biography: Alex grew up in a relatively unspectacular household. His parents where good people, strict, but caring, and Alex had fairly little to complain about his home life. At a young age Alex had grown fascinated with music, particularly rock and roll as well as old swing and alternative bands. While his parents didn't particularly agree with his choice of music, particularly rock and roll which they thought was a bad influence, they choose to be supportive and helped buy him his first guitar and paid for lessons. It was then Alex was revealed to be somewhat of a prodigy, learning the guitar much faster than most kids his age, and soon moving on to all sorts of other instruments as well, violin, piano, horns and brass, and oddly enough the accordion. Realizing their son's talent his parent's attitudes changed completely, and fully encouraged him to pursue his talents.
It was during middle school when he first began venturing into singing that problems began to arise. Alex had never been a "rugged" boy, and was in fact quite feminine in appearance, which was fine enough. However even as puberty came and went his voice stayed light and girlish, and soon the other students began picking on him for being girly. Teasing him, stealing his things, bringing dresses and bras to school and stuffing them in his locker and back pack, and beating him up whenever he tried to resist. He tried his best to appear manly, but no matter what he did the bullies never let up, and having spent so much time inside practicing his instruments he wasn't strong enough to try to fight them off.
Alex suffered through middle school, turned into an outcast, having to retreat into his music for solace. When he finally graduated he begged his parents to move to a different town, not wanting to have to suffer through four more years of the same torment. However his parents where tied down by family, their jobs, and honestly couldn't afford a move, so Alex believed he would have to be trapped there in a school he hated, cursed to be miserable. That's when he found out about a virtual reality school, completely warded off from the outside world, where you could be whatever you wanted to be. He imagined finally being the cool, masculine hear throb he had always dreamed of being. Ofcourse this wasn't the case, as he was so feminine looking even the school's programming mistook him for a girl, dressing him up in girl's outfits, assigning him to the female dorms, and even penalizing him for trying to enter the boy's bathrooms. Still at least the bullies aren't as bad, so he tries to stay optimistic about it.
Personality: Alex is kind, but socially awkward person. He feels more comfortable up on stage performing a song than he does standing face to face with another person trying to hold a conversation. When it groups he often finds himself fading into the background, content merely to be accepted. He can be quite shy when soloed out, and due to years of bullying can be timid and prone to flinching when someone takes an aggressive stance towards him. He loves playing music and hopes to one day start a band of his own, and works hard every day to improve. He's also pretty good at cooking, and has a tendency to absentmindedly tidy things up to pass the time, not helping with his more feminine image. He hated being mistaken for a girl, and when called on it tries his best to act manly, though he's really bad at is, so it often comes off as forced, or what a girl would think a guy would act like.
