Hello ladies and gentlemen. More gentlemen than ladies. And more assholes than gentlemen.

Free For All

Free For All Wrestling Entertainment is looking to open it's doors again--

All you gaping twats
There are too many guilds, stop opening new ones stop reviving old ones.

That's all well and good and part of me is starting to agree, but this guild is very minimal and very much based on how much users want to put into it. We've come up with some very good and very new ideas, or at least rehashed our last good ideas and are going to try them one more time with a new direction. With some new support, as well, we think this can be an extremely successful idea.

I am going to be bringing back Free For All for some sporadic community cards. There will be no set schedule, nor any set time-limits for cards to end. All matches will be made via sign up sheet and cards will go on no matter how big or how small they are. Because the cards will in-part be made up by participants, the amount of effort YOU put in is directly proportionate to the amount of opportunities you will receive. Just want to have a simple match with a friend you don't get to face very often? Sign up for an FFA card! Got a special attraction match and no guild to do it in? Sign up for an FFA card! Want something to post in when all your other matches aren't moving? Sign up for an FFA Card!

The main feature of these cards will be the FFA Championships. Holders of the FFA Championships will be allowed to carry the title belts into participating guilds. They cannot be used as feud fuel, nor should you use them in that way, as we are not trying to make the FFA titles look more important than the titles of the guilds you are carrying them in, they are literally just a way of recognizing your dedication to the community, and thus title matches will be given to the players who are active enough to want them. The FFA titles will essentially become the community belts of Gaia, with enough support from the community and guilds themselves. heart

Because the cards may occasionally run long, I will also be posting in matches in participating guilds to announce special terms for future FFA cards. Your random match on EWA Banzai? Well it just became a title defense. Your tag team match on LWL Execution? Well it's now a Number One Contender's Match for the FFA Titles at the next FFA card. We hope that this will make people care a little more about their day to day matches and cards, by giving them a community goal to strive for. smile

This thread represents two different sign up sheets.

1) If you are a guild owner and will graciously allow FFA's title holders to represent their accomplishments in your guild, please state so in this thread! This idea can only work with your help. Bringing us all together as a community is the future. Splitting us all up into guilds that have no transferrance with each other... It's time to make that a thing of the past.

--FFA Title Holders will simply be allowed to mention they have the belts in posts and entrances. They cannot be feuded over outside of FFA, because they are not more important than your titles. They are community badges.

Supporting Guilds

2) If you wish to have a match on the first FFA Card this summer, post here! Better yet, if you already know who you want to face, and they're agreed, shoot me a PM and I'll book the s**t out of it! Please run any and all specialty matches by me, as these cards aren't meant to be ABSOLUTELY STACKED AND RIDICULOUS WITH SPECIALTY MATCHES. Less is more sometimes guys. Part of showing me how mature and respectful you are is knowing when your match might need a specialty match.

--Title matches are given under my complete discretion in and out of FFA. I do not think many people will question my sense of judgement in this sense, but that does not mean it's not up for discussion!

So that is my idea and I hope everyone finds it as interesting as I do. No, it's not too terribly different than the last time I brought back FFA, but it IS different and I think that the new support I have and the new direction we've gone in will help make this guild something special. smile

Enough talk! HAVE AT YOU!

I'm going to give you a big gaping "no" on this one, for a few reasons.

1)
Quote:
There will be no set schedule, nor any set time-limits for cards to end.

This sets bad precedence. Eventually, people are going to be tired waiting for a card to finish because two schmucks are milking the no end-date rule for all its worth. And without a set schedule, one could randomly create a new card and have it up within an hour of the last card being put up.

2)
Quote:
Because the cards will in-part be made up by participants, the amount of effort YOU put in is directly proportionate to the amount of opportunities you will receive.

Or in other words, how every other guild operates.

3)
Quote:
The main feature of these cards will be the FFA Championships.

While cool, it essentially says everyone that isn't holding a belt won't be featured as much. What if there is a really hot feud in the group and the title feuds are duds?

4)
Quote:
Because the cards may occasionally run long, I will also be posting in matches in participating guilds to announce special terms for future FFA cards.

Nope. You do that in one of my matches, you'll get a shower of chairs falling on your face. Especially when you consider that earlier:

Quote:
...as we are not trying to make the FFA titles look more important than the titles of the guilds you are carrying them in...

So what you're saying is that you can't use the community belts for feuds in guilds where the belts are not recognized, but you yourself are going to invade into matches and make the belts the important part. I'm not going to have any of that.

This "new direction" you're talking about is down an abyss with no parachute.

You're totally allowed your criticism and feed back Dion and I wish we could have you in! The show will go on with enough support either way!

But to quote you! "Essentially how every other guild operates" in reference to the titles being the main features. They're always on spotlight in every guild, but a really hot feud is still gonna get better billing on a card and I have my own ideas on how to support exceptionally good, active posters in the new FFA!

As for the posting in matches part, it's only for participating guilds and it's to help subside the "waiting for cards to end" thing that you touched on in the first part of your post!

That's all I'll say though! As I said, you're totally welcome to your completely understandable criticism. smile

What I was referring to in my second point was "if you're active, you get more opportunities". Its how every guild in the fed operates.

Which that I can understand; what I don't understand is why you feel you need to post in the match itself.

For the sense of surprise. One second you're doing a regular match, then I just say "oh hey guys, this is for number one contendership next month" on top of whatever they were already doing. It might help with activity! But I hear your criticism.

And I know why you said what you said, but I'm just saying my approach to the title belts is no different from any other guild, except they are a main feature because you can show them in OTHER GUILDS. Thats what I was trying to say. /nod
