Welcome! <3Deri and I are absolutely thrilled to have our plots moving forward. We're welcoming three baskets to the growing family, and want to spread the love by giving the third basket away in a contest. There are some rules you need to adhere to, and they will be complete before this thread is opened for posting.
While we would love to give so many people a basket, we only have one to give away...but that doesn't mean you won't have a chance to custom-in. ;D So read through, and put on your best writing skills. We'd love to have you join the family!
Contest Run Time NOW - June 21st @ 8pm Central
Which is: 6pm Pacific 7pm Mountain 8pm Central 9pm Eastern 2am GMT
(Hopefully we will have the winner announced in a day or two after!)
Rules 1. Please read all rules.
2. Follow ToS and all shop rules.
3. You may edit posts up until closing time of the contest.
4. No Drama. No Whining. No Guilt-Trips. Anyone - no matter how close they may be to Deri and myself - WILL be disqualified if there is even a whiff.
5. No evil babies. Believe me, Samsara is enough to handle for both herds. <3 (Different is okay.)
6. Pay attention to word limits in the prompts!
7. While Deri and I love and adore each of you, we have decided to allow new blood into the family. Therefore, only those with no descendants of the Scythe x Vara (click to check!) line, and no descendants of Tybalt's line can enter. (Anyone that owns anyone from Payton's line is free to enter.)

Important InformationThis is pretty much a wellspring of links to important things concerning family and herds. Feel free to look through to garner a better understanding of the family you will be welcomed into should you win or be granted the right to custom-in. <3The Padmapani HerdWheel of Suffering o Haya vs. his daughter, Samsara!
Bloody Nails and Broken Hearts o Samsara's 'herd' closes in and attacks! In the ensuing fight, Vara leads the non-combatant members away, trying to get them to safety! Zulian eventually kills Aria's father, Nirvana, whose Angeni heritage comes shining through when he needs it most.
The Murder of Hope o The non-combatant members of the Padma herd flee, lead by Vara who names Shrivatsa the new herd Alpha, officially, and moves to return to Scythe's side! But the fleeing herd members are ambushed! Aria's elder sister, Bodhi dies in the ensuing fight between Xellos, and Aria is one of the few members that actually follow the new Alpha's command to stick in a group. Samsara's followers suffer minor (but still personal) losses while the Padma herd seem to suffer greatly in the wake of the attack.
Meditations on Impermanence o The funeral and remembrance of Scythe, Avalokiteshvara, Nirvana, and Bodhisattva.Hok'ee Herd[A small blurb will be implanted here, as this thread is a WIP.]
From my understanding, the Hok'ee herd is a place where any Soquili is accepted, regardless of how they look (aside from Skinwalkers and Cursed, yo~). This is also true for those that are not heterosexual. You'll find yourself accepted here, so long as your intentions are not evil.

Father: Tybalt is a fairly easy-going stallion, full of life and laughter and love. He tends to be a big goof ball, especially with friends and family. And as it so turns out, a family is exactly what he wants and needs. You'll find him to be an amazing father, and he may even have his serious times with you. (Your mother maaaay turn out to be more firm than your father~)
Mother: Aria is a resonant individual, though she cannot carry a tune in a bucket, much like her father. Her own resonance shines through in that she tends to be a very calm individual, and prefers to term it something like being like water. While some surfaces may be placid, the potential to adapt and stay calm (or turn into a raging tempest capable of shifting the very earth itself), what she feels isn't exactly hidden on the inside beneath that calm, mature exterior, but it is directed to suit her purpose. In the wake of Samsara's attack, Aria decided to face her shame and fear and began to seek training from the protectors of the herd, so she would not have to bear losing another family member. Once she is well enough and the foals are old enough, she will likely resume her training.
Step-Father: Payton is sweet and compassionate; he believes in the secret and the law of attraction (and, coincidentally, Karma): what goes around comes around and he really likes to travel. He believes in 'mentality to reality' that if you think and believe it's possible you can make it possible. He's obviously head over heels in love with Aria, and looks upon all three of Aria and Tybalt's baskets as his own family, as well. He has been nothing but supportive and encouraging of Aria's offer to surrogate for Tybalt.
[Ara's] "???" Her basket seems to resonate with a calm yet energetic aura. Confident and compassionate.
[Deri's] "Romeo"? Wiggle wiggle! Wiggle wiggle!

Reminder! o The basket holds a female. o Watch out for word limits. o Be sure you don't already own family. o Enjoy! Have fun! Be creative!
Prompts!
1. You are part of two herds. Two herds that dote on you and your siblings, for you are family to them. However, the Padmapani have a bit of a dark history in recent times. Once you are old enough to understand the dangers, you and your siblings are told of Hayagriva's daughter: the Cursed Catwalker, Samsara. She has torn gigantic holes within the makeup of the herd, using her own dangerous followers to kill your grandfather Nirvana, your great, great grandparents Scythe and Avalokiteshvara, your aunt Bodhisattva, as well as a familiar that had been bonded to another aunt. What do you think of the danger, even as you watch your mother pick her training to be able to fight and defend the herd?
2. Tybalt and Aria are your parents. You know this, and you and your siblings have always, and will always be, raised with love. You are also aware that Tybalt and Aria are not mates. In fact, Aria's now-lifemate, Payton, is very much part of raising you three little hoof-fulls of joy along with your biological parents. While you may or may not understand, there is no romantic love between Aria and Tybalt, but a love of another sort: they are the best of friends, and their love is still very deep and abiding. Your mother has only been too happy to help him build a family of his own. How do you feel about this business of having three parents, let alone that your biological mother and father are not mates?
3. As mentioned before, you and your siblings have places in two herds. What do you think of this? Do you have a preference for one over the other (it's okay--neither herd will mind; you'll be loved, regardless, little one~)? If so, why? What draws you to there? Or what makes you stay at the halfway point?
4. Open prompt! Whatever you want to do!
Keep an eye out! We may have a couple more prompts once Deri gets back to me!

I don't have word, or word count, so I hope this is short enough. I tried to trim down my ideas a little bit, but I can assure you I have many more. x3 If it's too long please let me know.
Name: Thirrin's Elegy Meaning (if any): Thirrin: I got this name from a book I read about a princess whose father dies, leaving her the kingdom and putting her in charge in a time when enemies are attacking. It was one of my favorite books because the main character is so brave and fiery. Elegy: An elegy is a poem/musical composition that is usually mournful and is dedicated to the deceased. Although these compositions are usually mournful, this foal won't be depressed, rather, motivated. This part of the name is a tribute/dedication to those who passed away during Samsara's attacks.
Personality Thirrin is a warrior princess, a determined and dedicated being. Like her mother, she cannot carry a tune but she shines in other ways. While her sister is more compassionate, Thirrin can be a bit of a tomboy and can have a bit of a fiery side at times. She loves her family and would give herself over for them any day, but not without a fight first. She wants to defend the herd with everything she can inside of her. She believes it is her destiny to become a protector of the Padmapani herd.
Prompt Response #1 "Thirrin's Elegy. At first I didn't understand my name. At first it seemed long and wordy. But my mother told me all about my family and the sacrifices they've made. She told me all about their bravery and strength despite the skinwalker Samsara's attacks. When the battlefield cleared and we found we had lost so many members of the herd we found something else as well: Hope. Among the fear that Samsara had cursed our family with came optimism.
We are stronger than ever now, united as one because of the day my grandfather gave his life to save us. Samsara is evil, and she thinks she has crippled us. But she has only made us stronger. We will end her, we will avenge the deaths of our fallen loved ones. As for me, it is my job to protect the innocent, to protect the children of Vara and Scythe. I alongside my mother will train in combat to better arm myself against her. Of course I fear Samsara's plots against us, but I have hope that we will prevail. I have faith that I can help to protect the herd and together we will end her and install peace in our lands at last. Now I understand my name. It means: For the fallen ones."
Plots:
For the Innocent: Thirrin will dedicate herself to her training, and she will stop at nothing to reach her dream of becoming a protector (or Haya's understudy/ assistant until he wishes to let her help him protect the herd as a full time position). I would like it if she could get a chance to prove herself. She knows her family doesn't want to put her at risk but she refuses to stand by and do nothing while Samsara prowls around plotting things. She will work to reinforce the herd's strengths, and will help to create emergency plans in case Samsara returns one day.
For Adventure: Outside of her life in the Padmapani and Hok'ee herds, Thirrin will spend her time exploring and helping those she meets. She will help to spread the word of her family's herd(s). I'd LOVE for her to go on an adventure(s) with one or both of her fathers, because she'll love them both. <3
For Love: Thirrin is a warrior at heart. She is rough around the edges and isn't very ladylike. I would like for someone to show her that to be a member of the Padmapani herd, she must be kind and caring to all. She must learn to forgive her enemies and must learn to accept the faults of others.
For the Fallen: I'm not sure if you guys are planning on Samsara returning and causing more havoc, but I would like for Thirrin to meet her face to face either alone or in a battle if the walker returns and launches a full scale attack again. Thirrin will not be looking for Samsara, she knows better than that, but if she meets her she will try to take her down.

Name: Ocean Waves Meaning (if any): No meaning to this English word.
Personality She is carefree with a soft heart and a loving expression that always seemed to make her glow. She is bright and cheerful, always aiming for the positive side of life. She tries not to let it show that she is weak, but she cares for the wellbeing of others and doesn’t want anyone to be unhappy. She tries to play the “older sister” role so that way those around her, younger or older than her, can look up to her. She loves to show people how to have fun and loves to entertain others. She always tries to act, sing, and put on a play so others can laugh and have a good time, and won’t let anyone pick on others. She tries her hardest to avoid jerks, and protect others from jerks, and always desires to keep another from crying whenever she see it, and sometimes senses it.
Prompt Response 3. Hearing the news about having a choice between two herds, both her and her siblings, she didn’t know what to do at first. She thought of it over and over but when she heard about the herd that suffered from a skinwalker that mother was in, she just couldn’t stop getting the urge to go there and cheer them up. She heard her mother talk about the herd she was in so many times, and she would listen, wanting to be there even more.
She knew that the others that dwell within that herd must be crying on the outside and inside their hearts and wanted that pain to go away. She longed more and more and more to go there and one day she came up to her mother to give her answer. ”I want to go to that herd that you are in, Mom! I want to help everyone there, because they might be crying!” She exclaimed and knew that she wanted to do what was best for that herd and was willing to go there. She wanted to be with her mother and she also wanted to be there to help the herd to smile instead of cry.
Plots o Laugh more, cry less: She will see another foal upset and needing to be cheered up. She took on a huge urge just to help that precious child and went ahead and gave it a little show to make it laugh though at first, but it wouldn't laugh at first but after a while it would begin laughing and smiling and she would feel she just healed another from crying. o A Trail of Joyous Tears: She will notice the voice of someone crying that leads out of the herd lands and would follow it, leading to her exploring the lands. She will then find the Soq so far off and see that she was hurt by someone and cheer them up and have them go home, only to be a bit lost. o Two Rings Of A Chime: After a bit of exploring, she will have finally returned home, only to find out that to stallions have fallen for her. One would be from the herd, yet one would be a foreigner, and they both would try and court her slowly but whenever they could get a chance, though the foreigner would be more fascinating to her and she would choose him in return by joining the herd and becoming sworn to stay with her always. o Will The Waves Bring Tears?: When the foreigner takes her options and joins the herd as well has her lifemate, she begins to spend lots of time with him at the most less populated places of the herd boarder only to meet a foreign mare who took interest in the stallion and tries to steal him from her. After days of having the mare join her and her mate, she finally asks him if he picks her or decides to give everything away for the other. o Gulls Over The Shores: Where the skinwalker comes back and wrecks havoc upon the herd and when she is hidden away to live with some others, she is to wait for her mate to return and when it all dies down and everyone starts looking around, she finds her mate injured and weak and while the healers try to patch him up, she gives him a gift that'll not only bind them closer, but make the herd happy as well.

Name: Verandi Meaning (if any): From the Old Norse Verðandi meaning "becoming, happening". Verdandi was one of the three Norns, or goddesses of destiny, in Norse mythology. She was responsible for the present.
Personality Andi, from the moment she tumbled sideways out of her basket, has known she was loved, by essentially everyone around her at all times. While this has on the one hoof made her a little sheltered and a little naïve, it has also succeeded in forming an extremely compassionate, open, and loving in return filly, as well. Andi is by her nature giving, both emotionally and in regards to physical items—she takes great pity on those who either have no family or come from a broken one, and seeks to leave joy in her wake wherever she can. Verandi was named for a goddess of the present, and that’s what she focuses on, with a lean toward the future: while she will eventually learn to look back and see mistakes, she always keeps one ear ticked toward what will be. [wordcount: 141 words]
Prompt Response: 2 and kinda 3 Andi has known for quite some time that her family arrangement was not, by any means, ‘normal’—none of it, from having two herds that claimed her to two fathers and a mother that she all saw regularly and all called family. She knew that, and she loved it. Because to her, it wasn’t unnatural or strange, it was hers. She counts herself extremely blessed to have not just one doting father, but two (okay, so she’s a little spoiled), and not just one extended family, but two, who would take her in and help her at a moment’s notice. That being said, she doesn’t look like Daddy Payton; she knows who her ‘real’ parents are, but she also knows that they love each other, just as best friends. Seeing this kind of connection—and knowing it can create children—helped open up Andi to all aspects of love, and respect them all equally, from a very young age. As she gets older, of course, she goes through periods of resentment, sometimes railing against Tybalt or Peyton (rarely her mother) or one or the other of the herds, but her moods are few and far between, and she learns just how lucky she is to have so much love surrounding her. As she reaches her adulthood, she makes it her mission to give as much back to her family as she can, because they give so much to her and her siblings every day. [wordcount: 244, edited. Phew! This is kind of rambly and really only strikes upon her main personality point, but I promise she would be more of a developed character than this :3]
Plots Limit each plot to be 100 words or less. Please try not to do more than five (pick your best plots!). <3 o Papas Don’t Preach: Bonding time with both of her daddies! This would be fairly early on in her fillihood—adapting to having two fathers (who, unlike some fathers of some other kids, aren’t mated to each other) and how they’re different and similar. It could even be a family RP with all three kidlets! o Best (and Worst) of Both Worlds: Andi knows she’s welcome in both herds, but the Hok’ee herd always feels a little more homey, whereas the Padmapani herd feels a bit more like extended family or, sometimes, work. This plot would be interacting with members of both, possibly learning about the violence that struck the Padmapani herd and how to handle those who are grieving over it. o Hate, Without Love: Verandi has grown up her entire life surrounded in a safety net of love and affection on all sides. This plot could go two ways—either she is attacked by someone just because they can, or she meets someone with a much darker/absent family than what she has. Either way, she learns not everyone was as lucky as she was. o On My Own: As much as she loves her entire family, having so many people doting on her from day 1 has started to feel a little…suffocating. As such, Andi starts out on her own and meets new and interesting soquilli (and probably a mate, hopefully to bring him/her back to the herd) and has to handle life on her own as an adult for the first time, without the benefit of falling back on her family. o What Is This Feeling?: Andi is, to her core, a caring and loving and open and accepting horse. She just is. It’s who she is. That being said, nobody is going to get along with everybody all the time. Verandi will need to meet someone she just cannot like, no matter how hard she tries—they just rub her the wrong way D: This would be about learning that lesson, and accepting that she is not perfect within herself. The two would part ways, probably amicably, but leaving Andi emotionally shellshocked.
Each plot is a song. It's 3 AM...again. How ;3; Anyway, a lovely family, and with a delicious backstory too! Good luck all! <3

Name: Titania Meaning (if any): "Of the Titans," also the name of the Faerie Queen in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Personality Competitive and eager to distinguish herself, Titania sometimes speaks out of turn and earns attention she might be wiser to avoid. Rules are meant to be bent, if not broken outright, and she takes a certain pleasure in discovering loopholes. While she is by no means a fool, it suits her to allow others to think she is not very bright, as it gives her an edge and room to surprise them when necessary. She is fiercely loyal to those who meet or exceed her expectations, and occasionally runs into the problem of extending friendship where it is least wanted or deserved. Her enmity is difficult to earn, but she is not shy about violence in the event that a grudge match is initiated. In fact, she will gladly enter a fight if provoked, even if the odds are stacked against her. [Word Count: 142]
Prompt Response Prompt 1 She was aware, early on in her life, that she had been born into a family plagued by incompleteness. Even with more fathers than other children could hope to have, it existed on the peripheries of her childhood, a sense of turmoil that was at once intrusive and unsettling. It was encompassed in the weight of her relatives' regard, at times mute and grave in spite of the festiveness of the occasion. She compared it to being mistaken for a ghost, an echo of something or someone bigger than she could ever hope to be. When her mother had finally explained the extent of their losses – her voice measured, eyes both wet and hard – it all made sense. She was merely filling a slot left vacant, expected to follow a path laid out for her rather than venturing forth to blaze her own. Titania was only surprised that the absence of something could be so tangible.
The filly looked sidelong at her sister and brother as Aria spoke of Samsara, and tried to envision a betrayal on that scale. But the only imagery that she could conjure was of a slavering, bestial creature, so far from her family as to be an entirely different species. Her eyes dropped from her mother's steady recitation to stare at the ground, at her rounded hooves. A quivering sensation started somewhere in her belly as she stood there, turning into a spasm that reached inexorably toward her throat. It wasn't fear, wasn't even anxiety at the prospect of meeting some murderous aunt. Instead, she became more aware of the way her body thrummed with life, a contrast to those her mother had so recently laid to rest. In that moment of clarity, she made a vow to herself. It would not happen again. [Word Count: 299]
Plots Limit each plot to be 100 words or less. Please try not to do more than five (pick your best plots!). <3 o Struggling Toward Enlightenment: Titania isn't exactly predisposed to standing still, let alone clearing her mind for any significant length of time. As a result, meditation proves to be a trying task, and she encounters more trouble than most in finding her center. Obviously, failing at something so basic does not sit well with the filly. Too sheepish to ask for help from an immediate family member, she would either seek out her more distant relatives, or a stranger to give her further insight into the exercise. One possibility would be my Amarant, who has some formal training as a monk and a mercenary. o Follow the Leader: Not much for being a follower, Titania would likely attempt to form her own little ragtag band of friends outside the herd. Due to her somewhat trusting nature, this could lead to a situation where she is challenged as the leader of their group, or otherwise made to step down from that post. The result would carry over into her adulthood, and either boost or compromise her confidence as an authority figure from there. o Perpetuating the Cycle: Given her family's exposure to Skinwalkers, Titania develops a keen interest in – and hatred of – the accursed race. This leads to her investigating them on the whole, either with her merry band of misfits or on her own. The potential for trouble is obviously high, but she is determined to know what makes them tick, and so have a better idea of how to defeat them the next time they come howling for her family's blood. She would undergo training similar to that which her mother is enduring, and be an active participant in any future clashes.

Name: Tamora Meaning (if any): -
Personality In a word, open. Tamora and her siblings were born of a rather unconventional union. She and her siblings had a mother and two fathers. As Aria's lifemate was as good as another father in their upbringing. That and other members of their family and the two herds have taught her the importance and value of being open to other lifestyles and morals and ideas. She is open and accepting.
A sympathetic ear when one needs someone to listen to and not say anything unnecessary. She is a steady rock, a shelter from the outside world. Tamora seems very placid, a living example of the saying 'still waters run deep.' This becomes even more in evidence after many hard life experiences. She grows from a very accepting young filly to a wise spiritual mare.
Prompt Response *Responding to prompt #1 They had tried to keep Tamora and her siblings sheltered, keep them away from the dangers and evils of the world for as long as possible. But then one day, Tamora followed her mother when she went to training. She watched with clear inquisitive blue eyes.
'Whatchu doin' mama?' 'Why do you need to learn to fight?'
What. Why. How. Such simple words but such difficult questions to answer. But the foals were old enough and it was time for them to learn about Samsara and the tragedy that befell the family. They were old enough to learn the truth. So Aria took a short break from her training for the day, and told her a story.
Tamora listened, not saying anything. Simply taking it all in. She was afraid at all the right points and angered at others. The danger, the excitement. She didn't really know what to think. She hated the fact that it all happened, but there was also a righteous indignation. It should never have happened. And the evil skinwalker needed to pay.
There was pride. Pride in her mother's bravery and what she was doing. She wanted to be like her, but knew she could never be. But one day, she would find her own way to help.
Plots o For Hope: After undergoing such tragedy as losing such beloved family members as Vara and Scythe, any births in the family are celebrated as gifts.Tamora and her siblings are a new generation, a new start. Tamora will spend time with many different members of the family and both herds, learning, hearing stories and helping to heal wounds that are still felt.
o For Tragedy: One day, while travelling between the herds, there is an accident. She ends up getting separated from the one escorting her perhaps during a kalona or skinwalker attack. When she doesn't show up at the appointed time, her family goes out to find her and instead see a scene of devastation and blood, and think the worst. They think she is dead.
o For Rebirth: Meanwhile the young filly is discovered by a kindly mare passing through who notices her stumbling about, injured and mildly amnesiac. She takes her in until the foal heals. Soon, she recovers her memory and return to home and family…. Coming back from the dead.
o For Strength: After such a traumatic event, Tamora realizes just how fragile life is, and decides she never wants to be in that position ever again. She looks for a teacher to show her how to become stronger, so she can protect herself if such a situation would ever come up again. She trains. She gets stronger, but she knows she needs more. She trains her body but does not want to neglect the more important aspect, her soul.
o For the Soul: She spends time with the spiritual leaders of the herds and family and feels a connection to the teachings, but doesn't feel like it is enough, so she goes on a spiritual journey to find herself and what she believes in. She leaves both family and herds to find herself, experiences much and changes. She returns, much changed.

Name: Avalo’s Eulogy aka “Eulogy” or “Euly” (You-lee) Meaning (if any): Avalo, well – that’s obvious… based off of Avalokiteshvara. Eulogy - A speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died
Personality A quiet filly, Eulo soaks up the information around her. As-if she’s studying and learning as much as she can take in. Not to mean that she doesn’t play and have fun, but there’s a slight barrier – almost as if she’s living in this world but not –of- this world. She’s often seen just gazing around in wonder. Very Logical little girl
Prompt Response Prompt One:
Sitting ducks.
That’s precisely how the herd situation felt to Euly. Her family had been torn up by a monster straight from nightmares and yet – they still stuck together.
Shooting fish in a barrel.
Since having been told of the ever present danger around her and her family, Euly couldn’t seem to rest easily. They were in danger so long as they all clung together. She loved her daddies and her mamma with all her little heart, how could she not? They made her laugh, played with her, and before being told the story of Samsara she hadn’t had any real worries.
Delusions of Safety.
Sure, she had often wondered why they had guards around, and why she couldn’t wander wherever freely… but that in her mind had been settled by “just being a young filly” And her mamma? Mamma had started to train again, to be ready to fight. What kind of situation was she in where fighting –had- to be learned. Was peace truly such an unlikely occurrence?
End the Madness.
Euly didn’t know what was going to happen, but even at her young age the urge to flee was present.
Plots Limit each plot to be 100 words or less. Please try not to do more than five (pick your best plots!). <3
o Where Nightmares Come From: The telling of Samsara, with her siblings. This is where Euly will lose her sense of 100% safety. (Not that she feels endangered completely – but unease)
o Shooting Fish in a Barrel: An RP between mother/daughter – Questioning why they would stay together if that made them a target? Why not separate and hide?
o Sibling Scares – Euly and her Siblings will sneak off and talk about the story they were told. She’ll begin to form/voice her opinion on their safety.
o End the Madness – An adult Euly will take action from her childhood worries and leave the herd. Hellbent on hiding alone, she won’t even see what’s coming.
o The Boogey (Wo)Man Lives – A run-in with her childhood nightmare will lead Euly to understand why herd is so important – If she survives…

Name: xxxxx Althea Lachesis Meaning (if any): xxxxx Althea is the Greek term for "Healing". Lachesis is one of the three muses; the one whom measures life.
Personality xxxxx To put it simple, headstrong. Despite the fact that she likes things to go her way, she also understands that life is precious, and one must give up things to ensure life goes on. Althea is a sweetheart, so long as everyone around her is nice as well. She does what she wants, when she wants. When it comes to helping others, she will do what she can, even if it puts herself at risk. She detests being told what to do; though, if she must, will do it. She believes that she is strong enough to hold her own, and not need someone to inform her what needs to be done. She’s impulsive, and it often gets her in trouble at times; though she enjoys her life. She loves all her family; all three parents and her siblings more than life, and would do anything for them.
Prompt Response { Prompt Two } xxxxx Blinking in confusion, I trotted myself to a stop. Ahead of me, my mother and father walked, side by side, laughing and talking. They were good parents, loving, gentle. I adored them with all my heart. But, on the other side of my mother, was another stallion. A stallion I had been raised to know as one of my parents as well. Normal foals, like the ones I had seen before, had two parents, and only two. It was a curious feat. One that I wasn’t even fully certain of myself. But, while on the walk with my strange family, I found myself observing each member with bright eyes.
xxxxx Aria, my mother, was a sweet and gentle mare. She laughed with ease, and enjoyed all around her. My father, Tybalt, was a joker, and often made me laugh. They were best friends. Mother was in love with the other stallion, Payton. He’s nice, and sweet, and teaches me a lot ( though not as much as my real father ). Then my brother and sister, who are both as active as me, were trotting not far behind. I observed the family with confusion, and uncertainty.
xxxxx “Althea! Come along, darling!”
xxxxx My mother called to me, and I blinked out of my daze, before smiling toward her. It was confusing, and complicated. But that was life, right? All I knew was that I had three loving parents; three parents that would give up their lives to keep me safe. And I loved them back, and had no complaints, and no uncertainties. I ran to catch up to them, ready to continue my lessons on the herds that I was growing up within.
Plots [ Generally I plot as I go, but this is a few things I could think of that could be fun~ ] xxxxx o Of Magic and Health: In this role-play, I would love to have Althea start learning of the magical traits of a Unicorn. She wants to be a healer when she gets older, aspiring to help all around her. But, she has no horn, which poses an issue. After talking to Tybalt, she would ask that he help her to find a teacher for herbs and any other healing properties she could learn. xxxxx o A Family of Six: Althea is very curious about how their family dynamic works; yes, she loves every single member of her family, but she's still curious. I believe she would start with Payton, asking him his thoughts. And then gather all her family and figure it out. [ She would call Payton "Papa" and then Tybalt "Daddy", so that they could distinguish each other. ] xxxxx o Injured and the Weak: While on a walk, Althea finds a foal that was abandoned and hurt; badly. She helps as much as she can. Though she doesn't heal the foal all the way, she does help as best as she can with what she has learned of herbs. After, she takes the foal back to her herd, helping to ensure that the foal is safe. The foal can either stay within the herd, or it can be returned to the parents when they are found. Depends on the Role-Play.

Name: Persephone's Grace Meaning (if any): Persephone is the daughter of Demeter in Greek mythology. She was abducted by Hades and when she was eventually rescued, Hades tricked her into eating the pomegranate seeds he offered from the underworld. This act of deceit meant that Persephone had to spend a portion of the year in the Underworld. The second portion of the name, Grace, has no discernible meaning. Personality: Persephone cannot be labeled with just one type of personality. However the word that could closely sum up her nature would be introspective. It takes her a while to figure out the answers to questions that she does or does not voice. She can often be seen grazing but her gaze will always be roaming around, taking in her surroundings. Being introspective has its drawbacks though. When voicing questions Persephone isn't one to realize she's being tactless. This can lead to confrontation if she isn't careful and having her questions go unanswered as a result. When this happens Persephone becomes a little put out not realizing that offense might have been taken against her. She is rather select in her company and prefers to stick close to her parents and siblings. This will eventually hurt Persephone as her ability to form bonds outside of her family will be severely lacking. Prompt Response:Quote: 4. Open prompt! Whatever you want to do! "They say that time heals all wounds but I must disagree,"The soft voice came from a brown colored mare as she stood near the entrance to a gorge. Cliffs rose on either side of the trail that wound through them. She had never walked this stretch of land but only now had she finally mustered the inner strength to view this place with her own eyes. Persephone had been raised hearing the story of the vicious attack by a motley group led by Samsara but she had been too young to take into account the cost of the battle. Now she stood with her head bowed in remembrance. Herd members had lost their lives: her aunt, her grandfather and great grandparents. Others had paid the price with blood but managed to survive. The event had taken place before Persephone and her siblings were even conceived, yet the pall of the battle still seemed to linger on in the herd. Persephone had decided that enough was enough. She needed to tease her own opinion on the battle herself. She’d come here to the site of the battle. Persephone’s gaze took in the narrow trail that her ancestors had bolted down in terror and a lingering sense of that urgency filled the mare with apprehension. She was no seer, no predictor of the future, but surely with a sacrifice this large … would not the Padmapani begin to flourish once more? Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as Persephone turned to head back towards the land that she called home. Her own voice echoed softly around her as the rock walls amplified her softly spoken words, “Avalokiteshvara, Scythe, Nirvana, Bodhisattva: know that your courage was not in vain. The Padmapani herd still lives on. I will never forget.”Plots:o An Uncertain Beginning - As a foal Persephone will have a sense of incompleteness amongst her family and herd. It would be unusual as she has three parents to look up to and a fabled herd lineage. There are just things that her young mind can't wrap around. Feelings that she can't describe begin to plague her and Persephone begins to wonder what would happen if she left for a time. The journey wouldn't begin until she would be able to prove that she can look after herself adequately. Only then would she be given a green light (so to speak) to explore. o Wanderlust - As a young mare Persephone will leave the safety of home in an attempt to fill a full-out fit of wanderlust. She will feel compelled to travel, to take in the lands that she's never seen. Her journey will take her away from the Padmapani territory but she will not forget her roots completely. Eventually this leads Persephone down the road towards her return. This homecoming might be a little awkward due to what she believes in is good interest for the Padmapani. (Re: Misguided Ambassador) o Misguided Ambassador - On her travels Persephone will being to miss the lands of her birth. At first it might be a casual mention here, a slip of the tongue there. Eventually though Persephone will realize that she is talking more and more about home and to complete strangers. Persephone will come to realize that maybe her words can do some benefiting of the Padmapani and begin an intense attempt to bring new blood into the herd. She'll proclaim herself an ambassador and being to believe in the title, although the herd has never delegated her that position. o Reconnecting with the Past - On her return to the Padmapani, Persephone will realize just how incorrect her self-proclaimed title is. She'll self-ostracize herself before it's suggested that she undertake a journey of the herd's past. It will be on this journey that Persephone's eyes are truly opened to the grief that still permeates the rest of the herd. She’ll return from the journey a changed mare. She too will carry the burden of grief that Samsara etched into the herd's psyche with her fateful attack. This burden won’t break her though. However it’ll leave a profound change on her outlook on life.
