A white shape was stretchered out on the lowest branch of a tree. Below the tree was a wild boar, intent on making the white shape lunch.
Valkyrie had never been as glad to have talons then she had been as she climbed the tree, if she had had hooves like the rest of the Usdia she was certain she would have been eaten. She sighed as she watched the boar circle her hiding place, along with the paws she was also half the size of the average Usdia which seemed to get her into some interesting situations, like the one she was currently in. "Shoo, shoo," she said as she made a go-away motion with her front paws towards the boar. As the boar continued to sniff and circle the tree she let her head thunk down onto the branch. "How is this my life?" she asked turning her head enough to look towards the sky.

Damned hot. It was Yngvarr's main thought. He had come from such cold and desolate condition that the sun and heat was scorching on his thick, downy fur. He sniffed disdainfully, shaking his long mane from his face with a flick of his head.
He did have to admit though, the greenery was a beautiful scene to take in compared to the white nothingness that was a normal sight for him. The birds flocked around him momentarily, lightly grabbing at his mane before disappearing into the blue expanse above. He chuckled softly to himself, watching them go with chocolate-brown eyes.
It was only after the twittering creatures had left that he hear another noise beneath it all, a snuffling, grunting, squealing... He made his way through the trees, slow at first, but then with a little more curiosity in his steps. It sounded like a boar, very familiar a noise to one who had lived in the North.
Closer, closer still.
And then he saw it, circling beneath a tall tree with snow in it's branches. He stepped forward a few more inches, clopping his hooves heavily. He was a large horse, standing at 18 hands, which in human terms put him at 6 feet tall.
He snorted, clomping his hooves on the hard ground. The noise caused the boar to turn his attention toward him. The boar squealed, it's piggy eyes narrowed and half blind at the tall creature which now was in its midst.
"Och, piggy. You look too entranced to that tree." He growled, his voice thick with mirth. For a moment he turned his gaze upward into the trees at the patch of snow. He noticed it then. A tail. Feathers. A creature! It was white as snow, with striking features that took the stallion off-guard.
"Little snow, ye best stay where you are. This beastie has you treed like a meal."

Gold eyes narrowed at the stallions words. "I am quite aware of that, thank you," Valkyrie said in annoyance. Her fear and frustration was causing her to forgo her normal diplomacy, a fact she would regret later and if the stallion was still around apologize for. Anger overcoming her fear for the moment she glared down at the boar, her tail flicking back and forth showcase her current mode. "Stupid pig," she said with a snarl.
Fox-dragons were at their most dangerous when cornered but Valkyrie was no warrior. She was an advisor, the voice of reason when her young change was in over his head. But now she wished she had been among those of her kind chosen to fight even thou most of them were now dead, at least then she wouldn't be stuck in this darn tree.
Spying a pinecone within reaching distance she grabbed it and in her frustration at being treed, threw it at the boar. Her aim was true and cone hit the boar square on the head. The boar snorted at turned an angry gaze on her. "Oops, that probably wasn't my best idea."

As the pinecone struck the boar, he let out an angry snort, throwing back his head in annoyance. Though his head couldn't raise far enough on it's broad neck to see the assailant, it did see the large stallion standing there in front of it. It HAD to be the creature that threw it. Shaking it's sore head, it let out an irritated squeal and ran at the tall stallion.
The movement shocked Yngvarr partially. What a brave or stupid creature this piggy was. As it charged at him, he sidestepped around the tree quickly, missing those sharp tusks that would have gorged him if he had stood still.
The pig stopped short, snorting and turned to throw himself into another charge. Yngvarr let out a whinny, rearing slightly onto his backlegs, his size in height doubling for a moment as he spun around the tree once more. The boar dashed at him, grunting in it's effort to catch the stallion and make him pay.
Yngvarr continued to skirt the tree, keeping it between himself and the boar. Those tusks would hurt, and Yngvarr did not feel like having battlescars from a little boar.
