Vÿnl sat in the alley next to a frozen yogurt shop. She was browsing Nowgraph on her HaiPhone (O Hai, Phone!) looking at vintage pan-Asian farming hats. God, old foreign things are soo cool!

Ugh, it was too sunny. Vÿnl moved for shade under the awning of 'Just Say Froyo' to look at her phone better.

Eidel was wandering yet again.

Someone ought to put a leash on her or something.

Either way she was in the vicinity of the frozen yogurt shop when suddenly there was someone moved and caught her attention. Eidel's feet moved her right toward them where she paused and stared for a second, "Hi! What is that thing you are staring at? Is it neat? Is it fun? Does it need to be fed? Oh! What does it eat..!?"

Vÿnl looked up at the-- dare she acknowledge it as an intelligent species?-- thing asking her all these questions. Then again, someone was enamored with her. She did like attention... "Well" Vÿnl said, shifting her weight like a catalogue model, "It's my HaiPhone, you can look everything on it... watch this."

Vÿnl pointed her phone at her new peon and demonstrated by mashing her skinny finger over the capacitive screen. Even though capacitive screens are NOT resistive and she didn't have to hit it that hard, she did. She dragged her twiggy appendage across the glass, sweeping and swooping around until she brought up an instructional video of 'how to be mistaken in public for a cantaloupe model'.

Eidel seemed rather happy to be acknowledged her face brightening up and watching this new person as if they were suddenly the only thing that existed in the universe.

The teenaged girl stared as the finger moved about on the screen and she took in an astonished breath.

Sudden instructional video was just something that drew her in more, "Ooooh..."

Eidel dragged her eyes away from the screen and up at the stranger's face, "...Do you get mistaken for a cantaloupe model a lot? How long have you been one? Do you wear the cantaloupes or do you just hold them?"

Vÿnl sucked her teeth. "Tch. Cantaloupe is so mainstream now I only eat fair trade sunfruit." Vÿnl looked up and saw an AD for the frozen yogurt shoppe. "Hey, you girl, want to get some zen-gurt?"
PostPosted: Fri May 24, 2013 11:59 am

She tilted her head toward the side, "What does mainstream mean? Is that a bad thing?"

It sounded bad the way this person put it.

"Oh! My name is Eidel!" Figuring a name would be helpful in this situation before she replied to whether or not she wanted zen-gurt that Eidel figured out meant 'frozen yogurt'.

There was another pause from the starry skinned girl before she announced, "Yes. Okay. Let's get some!"

"Mainstream is the worst." Vÿnl posed folded her arms. "By the way, my name's 'Vÿnl', the rockdots are silent." She looked her new companion over, top to bottom then bottom to top. She pressed her lips as she thought, her mind raking many things over.

"I'm going to call you '8îght-Trac' with a numeric 8, a silent chevron and hyphen and no 'K' from now on. Vÿnl had her reasons behind the nickname, but she was more concerned with what kind of zen-gurt she was going to get than articulating them.

Eidel looked as if she was a little horrified because mainstream was the worst. Was she mainstream? Would her new friend hate her now. Worry showed on her face very plainly.

"But tha..." Then she just fell silent for a moment as she tried to figure out what all of that meant but in the end she simply said, "Alright!"

It seemed easier to accept it now. Eidel was now marching her way closer to the counter an looking over the flavors, "Ahh..I like..strawberry..."

Vÿnl ordered her 'Chai Green Tea' zengurt and analyzed 8îght-Trac's choice. On one hand, that was a pretty common flavor everyone's heard of. On the other hand, McClownenmeister's did phase it out due to unpopularity. Vÿnl decided she's on that dangerous line between the mainstream and the.... other steam.

"You should try something different." Vÿnl suggested with a disapproving tone.

Eidel's eyes went wide at the tone of disapproval.

"Order something for me!" She insisted with a bit of a hand-flail over at Vÿnl with wide eyes. She didn't want to be mainstream anymore. Save her!

An evil smirk found it's way on Vÿnl's lips. Surely she was not so mean as to order the worst flavor that no one could even stands on her new... associate. Hmm... No, no she wasn't. But she wasn't exactly going to pull any punches, either. "Give her a fig one." The fig flavor was actually quite good, but it was also a bit of an acquired taste, as figs are not common everywhere-- particularly where Vÿnl was from.

Eidel noticed nothing evil about the smirk, in fact the teenaged girl thought she'd made her new friend happy with her request and waited.

It took a few moments for the 'zen-gurt' to be prepared and offered to them.

Eidel had made only one request on her own behalf and that was to have a cone instead of a cup.

Once she had the frozen yogurt in a cone within her hands Eidel stared at it.

Fig.

....She took a nice healthy bite of it and didn't even wait as she swallowed it. What immediately followed was the most epic case of brainfreeze ever. Eidel doubled over as her cone dripped from her hands, her hands then went to clutch her head.

"Owowowowowow."

Vÿnl clicked her tongue. She acted like a child... although, growing up was exactly what society expected from us. Was this her own fun was of being a rebel? Vÿnl refused to look like a conformist and took a similarly large bite of her own 'gurt. She made a face wincing at the pain.

The person behind the counter offered Eidel a cup of warm water to guzzle down to try and ease the pain from brain freeze. They also offered warm water to Vÿnl.

Eidel was guzzling down the water as if her life depended upon it.

After a few moments she stared down at the dropped cone, "..I think it was tasty from what I can kinda remember...?"

Vÿnl refused the water. She had to appear the stronger one. She had to show her new... acquaintance... that she could handle being a rebel. ******** society! If society is going to give her brain freeze ******** it! She was strong, she could do it. She didn't need anyone's help! She could do it. A small vein was popping up in her head.
