Kilian was determined to defeat himself an Ayrala dragon without the help of anyone other than Amadia. He looked over at the Keindred and was amazed. There was a point in time where he thought he’d never want to even see the creature, let alone join in on hunts with her. Now, though, he couldn’t imagine NOT bringing her.
You’d be lost without me. Amadia chimed in, hearing Kilian’s thoughts loud and clear. It was becoming increasingly harder to shield his thoughts around her. It was something that still scared him a little bit. Was he doomed to never have his thoughts to himself again? That thought was terrifying.
Would it be so bad? To share your feelings with someone? To always have someone there with you through life? Amadia asked, a tad hurt by Kilian’s racing thoughts.
“I just worry. Sometimes, it’s best to be left alone.” He gave her a small smile and looked out over the horizon. Amadia snorted. She’d love nothing more to fully immerse herself into the bond they shared. Kilian was still resistant, though.
Those thoughts were interrupted by the not so distant roar of an Ayrala dragon. It sounded angry. Kilian smirked. “Looks like we’ll have to continue this conversation some other time Amadia.” He unsheathed his daggers and took off in the direction of the roaring dragon.
It didn’t take long for him to find the beast. Kilian and Amadia were in trouble though. It was so much more than angry. It was standing over a nest of broken eggs, roaring into the sky. “Uh oh.” KiIlian mumbled as he took a step backwards. It would not due to get between an angry dragon and it’s broken nest. Try as he might, it was nearly impossible to keep quiet in such a rocky terrain. Rocks scattered under Kilian’s feet and it was enough to get the dragon’s attention.
The dragon turned, knocking into rocks as it did so. The look in the dragon’s eyes showed nothing but pure hatred. They were in trouble. “RUN!” Kilian yelled at Amadia as he turned tail and fled into the nearest rocky area. The dragon, rage overtaken it so much, didn’t bother to fly into the sky but instead took off after Kilian and Amadia on foot.
