HereShe growled in frustration. If she could at least make sense of it, herself, then maybe she could deal with it differently. She wasn't sure when she realized that it had something to do with the full moon, but it was as predictable as the rising sun. As if it weren't hard enough for her to maintain a comfortable distance from Amadia anyway. She'd always been attuned to her Drakeins. As though her very soul spoke to them, it was second nature for her to know where they were, what they were doing... but lately...
Maybe she was mistreating them in some way. Maybe something about her was repulsing them? Pushing them away? Did the bond not last for a lifetime like so many had told her?
With a shake of her head, Erionda deliberately cut off those thoughts. Rounding a sand dune that let into the 'graveyard' Erionda stopped. Sure enough there was Lanzecki. Her heart froze as she caught sight of what surrounded them.
Lanzecki was hidden under the skull of a great dragon. It had never faded even after the battle with jun. Eight Kiandri dragons surrounded the dead remains. Perhaps fossilized or created by something else the claws weren't getting through it. Either way Erionda now owed her life to that skull, without it Lanzecki would be lost to her forever.
Giving a cry out Erionda drew her sword from the sheath resting on her back. Fitting the shield onto her arm Erionda burst forward with a swing at the first dragon. Her body twisting around to gain some ground into the center of the circle. Slashing out again cutting into a Kiandri standing a few feet from the first.
Erionda winced at it roared but there was no calming down, she was going to risk everything she had to keep her baby Drakein safe.
