Have you designed a pattern or colour for your characters' Zinna? Here is a place to share all the different ones that are found throughout Purri. These animals can come in any colour or pattern you can dream up. Please be sure to label which Zinna belongs to which character and if it's just a wild one or one that none of your characters own then you don't have to label it. When submitting Zinna you have coloured, please keep them all in one post so we don't have artworks all over the place. =^_^= The template for colouring one can be found here: Zinna Template

~*~*Meyaira Firespring's Zinna*~*~ Kain's Zinna: This blue one is done with coloured pencils and you can easily see the scales that cover these creatures. Wild Zinna: Used felt tip pens for this one. I wasn't sure how to do scales that wouldn't look messy.

WOW! eek
I really really like that blue one. The texture of its scales is very well done, especially in combination with the gradation you have happening on the leaf things and the fins. In addition to that, I love the depth in its eyes and the gem.
The only thing that throws me off is the pink fleshy color of the ear, which I know is meant to be the inside of its ear but it sorta pulls you away from the rest of the picture.

Viper9000's Zinna(s) Both of these were colored in Photoshop using the template provided above by MF. Probably gonna recolor Morning's Zinna shortly now that I have a better feel for what I'm doing with their color patterns. Morning's Zinna, Moonlight: Midnight's Zinna, Sunshine:

Here is 2.0 version of Moonlight (Morning's Zinna) that I mentioned I was gonna do in the above post. I messed up the shading pretty much everything (used too dark a grey and progressed to far to undo it) but in exchange for that failure I got a much better looking gem and moon symbol out of it. And in addition to that, here is another one I just randomly felt like coloring cuz I wanted to do one with blue eyes. xd

I like the first version of Moonlight the best. The yellow eye looks fiercer and the black makes it look more mysterious, plus it lets the silver bits stand out more. smile I'm happy to see so many pretty designs.
The soft green one would be excellent for travelling most of Purri, since it has a lot of grasslands and forest. I love the little leaf print on it's flank! heart
I don't know if Ninja has seen the template yet but I am curious to see what hers look like too. (Her elf, Nabelin, has one).
Yeah, now that I look at Kain's Zinna again (which I need to come up with a name for), I realise that I made the pink a little strong. It draws your eyes. There might be a way I can soften it or water it down a bit more.
I like the patterns and colours used for my purple one but I don't like that you can see all the pen lines. If I can figure out how to recolour it, that'd be good. I love the smooth consistency on yours.

Lol, the only reason mine come off looking smooth is cuz I'm coloring them in photoshop. If I wasn't then there would be smears all over the page from me dragging my hand through the ink. xD
I gotta thank you for the template, it has been really fun just randomly pulling it up and doodling away with random colors on them.
And yeah, after looking a the two side by side, I gotta agree with you. I'll give another go at coloring Moonlight and see if third times a charm. Gonna give it yellow eye/gem, 2.0's moon and star symbol, black skin, silver leaves, and that fleshy white membrane on 2.0's fins.

That's okay. ^.^ And as for the other monsters, well, I've decided to re-draw them.
If there are any that people really like, I'd consider uploading templates for those too, so you can have a go at colouring those.
My favourite monster at this time would have to be the Pineapple Monster. Hahaha! cat_blaugh I'm going to add some proper detail to it and fix up its legs before scanning it in.
The other ones I like are the Mushroomians that are living in the Mushroom Valley. They are gonna be fun to colour as well. Once I get 'em cleaned up. They look a bit sketchy still.

That is very nice. I really like the eye and the delicate shading on the tail. It's a pretty creature for certain. cat_3nodding
However, I think the white areas where the fins have been left uncoloured could use a little touch-up. Just a smudge of colour to show they're actually translucent (I think I forgot to mention that in the description, whoopsie). They stand out rather starkly otherwise.
Nevertheless it's a beautiful looking design. I've enjoyed seeing all the ones you come up with. ^_^

Here is Nabelin's Zinna. Its not said in the rp quite yet, but she named hers Natty. I think it's pretty obvious as to why. Anyways, she's gotten really attached to her Zinna. I don't think the people who rent them out wanted this one as badly. I'll have to redo it sometime with colored pencils, and see what comes out.  EDIT: if you can't see it, its on my dA page, in the new deviants section. And, if you are following me, it will show up in your message box.

The white areas of the fins do have color, its just a really pale fleshy color. It tried to get it darker but I didn't like the colors it kept coming out as. xd But I like how the shading came out on everything else so I'm calling this the final version of Morning's mount. sweatdrop

No, I can't see it on here but I went and looked on your DA page. ^_^ I like the mix of forest colours and gentle tans and greys. Looks like Natty would camouflage beautifully on their travels. On the flipside, it'd be harder to find her if she ever ran off. Haha! Maybe we should work that into the story somehow too. XD Thanks for sharing. And Viper, I'm sorry! I couldn't see the light shading so I thought they weren't coloured. It's still a gorgeous looking Zinna and one of my favourites from your designs so far. BTW, I'm giving my 'wild' purple Zinna to Peridot. I think she'd go for something pretty like that. Lol.

Hmmm, that got me thinking. Maybe Bess would have a red-brown one, something sorta earthy. Can't have her chasing after Midnight on foot after all... razz I might try my hand at designing on for her. 3nodding What kind of symbol do you think would fit a Zinna for Bess? I wish I knew photoshop better so I could give the Zinnas a scaly like texture. XD
