The Clinic

Here at Sonata Health Clinic, we strive to provide all our patients with the best care possible of such a small, straggling, useless town as this! We offer pharmaceutical, medical, and alternative treatments, such as acupuncture, aromatherapy - the works! We hope you like how that sounds, because, really, where else are you going to go? Honestly, take a look outside, people! We don't even have a highway! You can't see the mainland for miles! Why did anyone even come back? There was a hurricane! It destroyed everything! Shouldn't that be enough for people to get that the Goddess doesn't - er.

..What is meant to be said is that.. We're a nice, friendly, welcoming staff, though small, we have the most advanced technology we and the mayor can afford! Three rooms, one examination room, two offices, and a staff room for us to play paper football, drink coffee, sleep, and eat the food that YOU won't be able to have as a patient! HA! We hope you enjoy your fish oil, butter-less bread, soy milk muffins, and lizard tails! But, seriously, it's not THAT bad here. Every room has a television, radio, and chains to.. restrain patients when we don't feel like dealing with them. You know, I shouldn't even be the one talking here. Probably lose all our customers.. Oh, well. Have fun.

Javor was drenched in red from head to foot almost. His usually pristine white lab coat was a complete mess and he had red streaks across his cheek, as well as caked on his hands. There was also a large puddle of it tracked onto the floor, clear footsteps leading up the hall, into a storage closet, and back down.

He was pretty well determined to get it cleaned up before anyone else saw it because he would most definitely have some explaining to do otherwise. And explanations were so tedious (and sometimes involved having to dispose of people, which was also tedious). Therefore, after locating a mop, and filling a bucket with hot, soapy water, Javor was going about mopping up the large puddle. He was only about halfway through it and, already, the water in the bucket was murky, soapy red with pink, foamy bubbles floating forlornly on the surface.

He sighed. Really. And was truly disturbing was that his victim had escaped. He just hoped no one traced the whole incident back to him. Certainly, it wouldn't be good for his reputation as a responsible doctor...

Another day at work! Sure being a nurse wasn't the most fun, but Mitsukai got to help people and that was nice. She also got a decent enough paycheck, which was enough to keep her working. She had to help pay the bills somehow. So far work had been pretty slow, which she certainly didn't mind. It simply meant she had more time to sneak away and text friends. She just had to make sure her boss didn't know, because he could get kind of scary sometimes. For now it was time to get back to being serious though, she couldn't waste the whole day on her cellphone. She got up from behind the nurses' desk, ready to get back to work. She began down the hallway, stopping when she noticed Javor. What was that doctor up to now? He appeared to be cleaning up something. Did a patient throw up in the middle of the hallway or something while she was busy slacking?

"Did something happen?" she asked Javor, as she approached him, still oblivious to the bloody footsteps the man was busy cleaning up. She really didn't want to look at the floor, in case there was vomit or something that was being cleaned up. It didn't smell like vomit though, which was strange, and letting curiosity get the best of her she checked the floor to see just what it was he was cleaning. "That's, that's blood," Mitsukai stated aloud. Sure she was used to blood, what with being a nurse, but this was an unusually large amount of blood. The only time she had ever seen something quite like this was on crime shows and horror movies. She looked back up to Javor, how could he be so calm about this? This wasn't normal at all!

"Yes," Javor said, looking up without surprise when one of the other employees showed up and exhibited surprise at the state of the hall. Well, that wasn't surprising, he supposed, considering the hall didn't usually look like this. "Many things have happened." He paused in his mopping when she stated that the red on the floor was blood. He looked down with surprise. Well, he supposed it did look like that. Javor set the mop against the wall and wiped his hands on his coat, leaving red smears on some of the only areas still white. "Well...now that you have seen this, I cannot let you merely leave as if nothing happened." Reaching up to brush hair out of his eyes, Javor left a long streak on his face without realizing it. The mild fumes from the paint caused his eye to twitch slightly.

Javor gave Mitsukai an eerie smile as he approached her, firmly placing his hands on her shoulders and looking her in the eye. "No. I cannot let you leave now. That is impossible." He put an arm around her shoulder and tried to pull her closer to the red mess.

"You....you must help clean up the paint before others arrive, yes? We cannot leave such a mess on the floor but it is not so easy to do it alone. You'll help?"

Many things have happened? What was that supposed to mean? No, that answer would not do at all. "Why- why is there blood on the floor?" she demanded, trying her best to stay as calm as she could in this situation. She closed her eyes for a moment, and took a few deep breaths. This was not happening, and if it was she wasn't just going to let Javor do as he pleased. She had to try to do something, no matter how scary the situation was! Luckily for her, the fear had begun to turn into determination. Determination to get out of this mess.

She opened her eyes again, only to be greeted with with the doctor approaching her, red smeared all over his face and coat. "Don't touch me!" she said, pushing him away and off of his shoulders. Oh, it wasn't on her uniform was it? That would be bad, really bad. Ew ew ew. She wasn't going to check, not now and perhaps not even later. She looked back to the mess on the floor, how did she manage to get involved in this of all things? "No I won't help, why would I?" seriously though, why would she? Okay, so usually it was best to go along with whatever the psycho said hoping you'd be spared, but there was no way she was going to give in to his requests and go near that awful mess! She wasn't her sister, who'd plead and do as she was told. Just because she was afraid didn't mean she had to comply.

Javor gave the woman a strange look. What was she even talking about? "How should I know that? I didn't put blood on the floor?" he told her, looking around. How could she even see blood on the floor under all that paint? Especially since the paint was red; it would just blend in and you wouldn't be able to--

...oh.

Javor shot the woman an amused look. Ho ho ho. Could it be that she thought this was blood? That would explain her behavior a bit, for sure. And he supposed it did look rather suspicious, didn't it? Barring that the texture was a little off, certainly one might be inclined to think this was a murder scene rather than an artistic endeavor gone horrible wrong. Well, that fact just made this situation so much more amusing. Really, they should finish cleaning it up but she just looked so horrified and he was just so very amused by that fact. He couldn't help but torment her a little. Just to see what she would do.

Javor gave Mitsukai a wide smile, eyes half closed as he tilted his head back slightly. "Well, I can think of a great many reasons you would wish to help me. One, because it would be such a shame if someone were to slip in the wetness and break their neck," he said, subtly emphasizing the last three words. "Two, because I have asked you nicely." Javor took a step closer to her, closing the distance between them as he leaned in to whisper in her ear. "And three, it gives me a reason not to do what might be construed as very, very terrible things."

User Image On her first day she was well aware that she may have been slightly more late than needed or rather usual. Though it had only been because she had been looking for a couple of butlers with no avail to look after her home. It seemed to her that she needed a watch as well as a couple of butlers as she was running late. She had not a lot of time to change and due to that her hair was in a messy up-do bun. Desiree wore a black pencil skirt which seemed to bring out the curves of her hips perfectly, yet still retaining a profession appeal. Her white blouse reached her elbows and ruffled where her bosom was placed, hiding the curve of her bosom dipping when met with her flat stomach which had been sporting a rather extravagant belly button piercing. Desiree wore a pair of five inch coal black heels which high lighted against her white stockings. A black hand bag with a long strap hung on her shoulder as she stepped out of her black Aston Martin.

Shutting the door behind her she locked it with her keys, pressing a button as the car made a beeping sound she assured it was locked and began to walk towards the building she had parked in the front of. A smile appeared upon her lips as she looked at the quaint little clinic, despite looking small it was rather beautiful, the way it emitted peace and loveliness unlike other hospitals which reeked of bleach and well just bleach. Opening the door carefully she peered in to the clinic to find a tall crimson haired man intimidating on of the nurses which she could clearly see by the uniform she wore. Her eyes immediately glued themselves onto the man who seemed to be soaked in some kind of red liquid. Her eyes widened for a second before she blinked blankly. She was so sure that it was blood, even the texture was somewhat thick like blood however she soon chuckled to herself quietly.

If it really was blood than I would've smelt the distinct iron like scent of it before I had even stepped through the door, she had thought to herself with a shake of the head. Looking over to the seemingly terrified and defiant looking girl to the crimson haired man she noted that he wore a pristine white lab coat which was now soaked in the red liquid. Though what it was she had no idea for the time being. Crouching down to the liquid she almost near stepped in, she dipped two of her fingers in and lifted it to her nose. Desiree's nose scrunched up immediately at the scent. Whilst at the same it was comforting to know it wasn't blood it was horrible to smell. There was only one kind of liquid that could make her stomach curl and make her nauseous, that was paint. A smirk appeared on her lips as she stared at them, shaking her head in disapproval at the Doctor who seemed to be scaring one of his nurses. Stepping over the puddle of paint, she moved closer to them, behind the nurse, though the sound of her heels were rather distinct and loud against the ground. Looking directly into the man's eyes from behind the nurse she raised an amused brow at him.

The man wished he could say he was late to arriving at his clinic, but, as any good owner who still cared for their business, he was significantly early. Mao didn't have the time or money to be out running around in search of other people to support his ego, so he was left at the clinic early that morning in search of Mei, his one loyal employee from the first day the clinic opened its doors. He wasn't sure if he should feel proud of her to last so long or disappointment that she spent all of two decades not doing much more than popping out a handful of annoying children. But, his opinion of her aside, she did serve a purpose of brightening his days to where it held no benefit to anyone but himself. He was still the same disdainful individual as he left the back room after a fruitless morning without his secretary, it just meant he had to find a new target.

Lo and behold, there it was. A target that opened the door before he had time to decide whether he enjoyed the red splattering his usually immaculate hallways or not. Desiree Loxx, which had to be some ridiculous fake name for an international spy, but he supposed he couldn't mock it properly when his daughter was named something like 'Xochiquetzal'. So, he would just have to point out everything else she was doing wrong. Ah, how difficult that would be! “Ms. Loxx. I presume there is a reason you aren't working like your coworkers? I understand this work may not be your forte, as your clothing so clearly dictates, but I will remind you that this is not your night job.” He prodded the back of her heels with the toe of his foot, wondering on whether it was worth a lawsuit and one less employee to simply push her into the blood or paint or whatever was coating his floors.

…..Nah. Doctors weren't the easiest to come by, dressed as prostitutes or not. He walked around her and went to facing her properly, though it did irk him slightly that she was taller than him. “I would appreciate it if you would tell me now whether you are on shift and you aren't another hooker hired by one of my more 'respectable' employees? I would hate to expend any more energy on you if you aren't even my employee right now, after all.” It's not like he didn't have a mountain more to complain about in Mitsukai's or Javor's cases, so it wouldn't be a total loss if she was just here to play dominatrix on these two. A poor excuse for one, but it wouldn't be his job to tell her that. Speaking of other employees, “Mr. Kurel, Ms. Yoshiko, which of you is responsible for this mess? ...And have the remains been disposed of properly?

"You didn't put it there?" she questioned him, "Then who did?" she asked. Of course, she wouldn't get her answer because it looked like if she didn't help Javor she'd be his next victim. No, she couldn't give in, not to him, not to some crazy-wait, was that heels clacking? What sick person came to the clinic in heels? Seriously? Either way it looked like someone had come to save her from Javor! Oh but what help would this woman be in her heels? Oh, but maybe she could serve as a distraction for Mitsukai to get away? That could work. She looked from the woman to Javor thinking through her escape plan when suddenly Mao came in. Never in her life had Mitsukai been so happy to see that man.

She attempted to say something to the man but before she had the chance to do so her boss had confronted the woman standing next to them. Wait, this was Dr.Loxx? The new doctor? But doctors couldn't wear heels to work! Neither could nurses, it simply wasn't proper clinic attire. This wasn't what neither her nor Mao should be worried about though, there was blood all over the floor, had he not noticed? "Dr. Xiqui, there's bl-" Oh so he finally noticed, and didn't really seem to care. Great just great. She sighed, finding it useless to answer in this situation. Still, Javor couldn't do anything now, so it seemed she was safe for the time being.

Javor's fun was interrupted (sadly) by an Amazon with a broken eyebrow. Or he assumed it was broken because it was at a different height than the other. Perhaps she'd painted them on crooked? Wait, were they painted on? He frowned slightly and quirked his head to the side as he contemplated the Amazon's eyebrows and whether or not they were painted and broken, and he momentarily completely forgot about Mitsukai or tormenting her while focused on the newcomer's eyebrows, and her clothing--why was she dressed like that?

But when he remembered about Mitsukai (not difficult since she was right in front of him), a frown flashed over his paint-smeared, yet still handsome features. "Kurva, it is impolite to eavesdrop on conversations that do not pertain to you."

Unfortunately, the moment was broken and Mitsukai was demanding to know who was responsible for the mess, and their boss had shown up and was asking the same question and Javor supposed he really must answer since to do otherwise would surely be impolite.

He sighed, a little put out by the whole thing, really. "Technically, it was a cat. Unfortunately, the cat fled moments after coming inside, leaving me to clean its mess." Javor neglected to mention that, in fact, he was the one who was responsible for the cat coming inside. But that was irrelevant. It wasn't as if he'd carried it inside personally; he'd just lured it inside with food. The paint, was definitely not his doing, though. He had put it on the cat and the cat had put it, well, everywhere else. But really, he couldn't be blamed. He wanted a pet. He'd found a stray. The stray didn't quite match him so he decided to try painting it (perhaps he should have tried hair dye instead?) He'd been quite meticulous but the cat didn't seem to be as interested in becoming a pet as Javor had been in making it one. Thus, it had tried to escape out the side door, Javor had left open which left Javor to clean up the mess it had made during its escape attempt.

But it was a slow day. What else was he supposed to do when there weren't any patients to take care of? He frowned slightly at Mao, who, he noted, had said his name wrong--something that always gave him the urge to poke people in the eye with sharp objects. "I don't believe it's dead yet, so disposing of it would have been quite troublesome though I do suppose it must have left a trail of paint if you wish to follow..."

User Image An exhausted sigh escaped her lips as she crossed her arms. By the reactions of the employees among her she was standing in the presence of the Boss of the Clinic. Though it was quite rude of the man to assume she was any less dignified dressed in a simple black pencil skirt and a white blouse. Not only that he had the nerve to call her a hooker. In that he was quite mistaken, her heels were not that tall and many female doctors she knew wore heels in the city however of course in a small town it must have worked differently. It wasn't like she was strutting around in a minuscule skirt which showed off her arse and a crop-top showing off her toned stomach, no, her clothing covered every inch of skin except for her forearms and hands. Even then her pencil skirt reached her knees. Despite the boss kicking the heel of her shoes she did not budge one bit, not even a small stumble. "No, Dr Xiqui, I am not on my night job, not that I have a night job in anycase, and I am in fact on my shift, it just seems like there's not much to do at the moment," she spoke.

Unwrapping her arms and placing them on her hips, she stared him straight in the eye, or rather slightly looked down on him, though it was somewhat unintentional she released another sigh. "As for the 'slacking' I haven't quite reached the staff room to check up on the details and was quite preoccupied by the large amounts of paint spilled on the ground," she explained remaining quite profession. Great, just great, my first day of work and I've already got here late, retorted towards my boss and slacked off, she thought to herself, inwardly groaning as she stepped away from the uncomfortable distance to her boss. "As for my attire, it's not showing the least amount of skin which could be considered 'hooker' material, unless you wish me to go back home, waste more time and get changed then I think you'll have to deal with my attire for the meantime," she stated, clearly saying all the cons in her changing her attire at this moment, "And my forte is in fact medical studies, but if you wish to see my degrees, I mean you were after all the one to hire me sir, just please remember not to judge a book by it's cover, it's not polite, and if you'll excuse me, I'll be getting to work now.

Walking away from him as rude as it may of been she entered the staff room and pulled on a pristine white lab coat and went to check up onto the rooms. And I'm going to get fired because of me and my stupid smart mouth.. with that final thought she slapped her forehead as if punishing herself for being so idiotic and impulsive. Checking on the rooms they look to all be unoccupied except for one it seemed, however she did no more than check the clipboard on the end of his bed to review his health. Rubbing her temples she brought out a pair of spectacles from her bag and wore them, reading over the information which was brought before her very eyes before placing it back into it's original position. Reminding herself that there was still quite a large quantity of paint still spilled on the floors, she took out a pail and a mop from the store room and proceeded to fill it with soapy warm water before returning back to the hall where the Doctor, the nurse and her boss was and began to mop away the paint. The paint had turned the white soap into a pink color as she had washed it out to proceed with mopping the mess down.

Oh. What a lovely reaction that was! Mao rose both his brows in a silent appreciation for the backbone presented, but they lowered as she kept going on and on.. and on.. That backbone seemed less like that of a proud jaguar and more from a little cat screeching hopelessly at - oh, great. He really needed to stop prodding that delusional woman, her stupid cat references were starting to get absorbed into even his thoughts! In any case, he had a feeling that the bark was worse than her bite, which would just make this woman a huge disappointment and he shouldn't even bother for that possibility. Besides, he had seen a fair share of crossdressers in his time and he wouldn't be surprised if this woman turned out to be a fraud in her gender as well.

So, he decided against baiting her into continuing and focusing on the real business - the paint all over his floors. It was sad for the male doctor to admit that it wasn't blood - he had been hoping for some actual entertainment here, but he guessed the likely victim in that scenario would be the missing Mei and that wouldn't be as enjoyable in the long run. Still, he perked slightly at the mention of a cat. His Newt had been missing since Catrina had started her raids on his business and, to be honest, he did miss the standoffish animal.

"...Hm.." Perhaps he could follow the trail just to see..? But.. the animal would just be lost to that insane woman anyway. No, he would let it be 'free'. "No. I don't think I will. Ms. Yoshiko." He snapped as he looked to the blonde quite suddenly, feeling she had gone just a little to quiet, "I expect this hallway to be spotless within the hoooouurr.. Ah." Before he could even get the order out, Desiree had come back within seconds to clean up the mess herself. That.. well.

"How efficient." He commented with a small glance to the bucket Javor already had with him. "But, Dr. Loxx, was there a problem with that bucket?" He skirted around her to where Javor's bucket was, picking the pail heavy with water up curiously. "I don't think there is a leak.. Oh, well, I suppose we don't need it now, do we?" Nope! It was just a waste of space now! So, he dumped it out on the ground without care for the woman crouched down there and handed the now empty bucket to Javor. "I think it is time for my lunch break. Ms. Yoshiko, Dr. Karel, why not observe Dr. Loxx? She's being an exemplary employee by taking it upon herself to clean the hallway. I think you can learn something from her." Now, off to his back room so he can enjoy his break to its fullest~

What? A cat did this? But how could it get all this blood on the floor? Was it hurt and bleeding? Oh, it would probably bleed to death at this rate. Oh no, what if it was Patches? Still, this was a lot of blood just for one cat. This story didn't add up at all- Wait? A trail of paint? Wow, did Mitsukai feel stupid. This was definitely a face palm moment, but the woman had to remain composed at work. As dumb as she felt, it was relieving to know that there wasn't any real danger, maybe Javor wasn't too bad after all. Sure she was mad at him for pulling such an awful prank on her, but she couldn't say it wasn't a good one. Maybe when she got over it she'd get a decent laugh out of the situation but for now it wasn't going to happen. There was too much to deal with at the moment like her frustration and her new co-worker.

Speaking of Desiree, it was a surprise to see the woman address their boss in such a way. Did she really know who she was talking to? Her first sentence would have sufficed but instead the girl went on and on about her degrees and clothing, also something about not being a hooker. Skin or no skin, the clothes were pretty form fitting and five inch heels were just a bit ridiculous. Oh well, there was nothing she was going to say about it. If anything it looked like she had yet another interesting co-worker. At least it made work more entertaining, oh the stories she could tell!

She had been lost in thought until Mao had snapped at her, pulling her full attention back to the mess surrounding them. "Yes sir?" she inquired, looking over to him. Oh, time to clean the mess. Wouldn't this be fun? Before she had the chance to begin Desiree appeared with another bucket. Well, if they had two they could probably get done quicker. Unfortunately, the second bucket didn't last for long and Mitsukai watched as her boss dumped out the first bucket, creating an even bigger mess. Great. Thanks Dr. Loxx. Now they had to clean even more up. She headed towards the supply closet to grab another mop, but stopped as she heard Mao addressing them again. Oh, so the new doctor would be doing the cleaning? This would certainly be interesting. She returned to her previous spot, nodding in response to Mao, "Will do doctor," she assured him. Well, it looked like she could continue to slack off and finish that game of ruzzle she was previously playing.

Javor was curious what he could learn from the Amazon because he'd been cleaning up just fine before she appeared and started thrusting her crooked eyebrows at him. Well, he supposed by then he'd stopped a bit because he had been teasing Mitsukai but before that. He was also curious how she managed to leave the room, find another bucket and mop (why did they even have two mops), fill it with water and return all before he'd even noticed she was gone.

Clearly the woman had skills. Or magic powers.

Perhaps she was an alien. This certainly required careful contemplation. He had the distinct feeling the safety of every islander who didn't wish to be, ah, probed, might be depend on it.

Then again, perhaps not. She was likely just a strange, very tall and very silly individual. While contemplating all this, Javor was temporarily distracted by a splatter of paint on the wall that vaguely resembled a giraffe.

Hrm. Perhaps he should go wash up a bit since he was a bit drenched in paint. Then again, he'd been told to stay and watch Desiree clean up the mess but he'd also never really been that inclined to follow orders. Hmm. Decisions. He let out a tongue curling yawn a and pulled off his white coat, carefully rolling it into a ball and dropping it in a nearby rubbish bin.

He started away from the hallway mess, which was now no longer his responsibility. He paused in the door to a nearby bathroom. "Oh yes, Kurva. You missed a spot."

Mao had been heading towards his much-loved retreat when the old man had noticed something queer about the reserved room two doors down the hall. It was open. Not by much, but, if only a little, it had opened up to where the smell of condensed frog juice and rotting jujubes grew stronger the closer he got. His first thought was one of complete excitement – had it actually..?! He didn't think that that loon's theories could have ever..!

He was practically smiling as he opened the door and darted inside to see that nothing had changed. It came with a mix of disappointment and contentment that he was still correct regardless of what Freja wanted to believe. He shook his head and closed the door, turning to go interrogate who had tricked him into thinking some hypocritical purple mouse could ever be right. It was probably Mitsukai. She didn't look like it, but her name was Japanese enough that it had him looking right at her as he kicked the overturned bucket aside. However, before he could say anything, something 'horrible' happened.

You see, as Mao had been entering the lobby again, Desiree had started to stand up in those grotesquely tall heels. However practiced she was in them, no one could not trip on stilts when an unexpected bucket collided with both heels while trying to stabilize themselves on a slippery, wet floor. The woman had fallen and, with a sickening crack, hit the ground. Mao rose both his brows as he looked from the rolling bucket to the still form of the hooker-doctor hybrid to grace his clinic. Well.

Now, look what you did, Nurse Yoshiko.” He said with a gesture towards the body, “You simply couldn't allow another female coworker, could you? I suspect you did the same with Mei.” He shook his head and sighed, “I suppose I should call the police and tell them, but I don't know if I feel like the bad publicity.” Really, this was becoming such a bother. He was getting too old to deal with this. She probably wasn't dead, to be honest, and he didn't think Mitsukai seriously killed Mei, but, then again.. That heritage of hers could be acting up.
