The Lovely Library Located in the middle of town, the Lovely Library was created by Alanis LeBlanc after she had enough of the lack of good books on the island. Even though there already was a library, she took the first opportunity to take over and to completely remodel it into a three floor building. Not because she thought that a good library should have three floors, but because it took three floors only to fit her own book collection that she had accumulated over the years. Sure, the whole third floor is made of books not... suitable for children, but it's the thought that counts, right? Various tables can be found on the first floor as a reading area. There's also three vending machines for snack and beverages. Unlike most libraries, silence is not expected in here, for it is common to hear the head Librarian just chatting away with her employees and customers, as well as the classical music always playing. The sole librarian here will shush you so fast and hard if you try to chat with anyone, including him, so don't bother.

____ #ee9988 - kita cornflowerblue - kalaWalking into the large estate, her eyes sparkled with adoration and wonder. There were so many bookcases filled with many stories of the world and information to feed the mind for years. Following inside behind her was her sister Kita who had the same look in her eyes.
"This is it. This will be our home away from home."
"Oh, definitely."
"Do you hear that, Kala?"
"The classical music?"
"How exquisite!"
"Shh~ Volume, Kita."
"Oh, right, right. My excitement was getting me carried away."
"Three whole floors in this library. I wonder if we can expand in the future."
"Yes, make it a grand library of research and stories of all kinds."
"I wonder if there is anyone here who could show us around."
"Hmm.. Doesn't really look like it, although who would leave these children in an unlocked library without anyone around?"
"Hello~," Kala called for assistance. "Anyone here?"

Afternoons within the library had a sort of routine to them that Ed had no problem maintaining as the library was a rather uneventful place. There was no reason for him to believe that, after a short break outside the library and an even shorter lunch of bread and cheese, there would be anyone within his place of work that made him actually have to work. Even so, the man still felt an unhealthy dose of shame as he heard voices, one of which calling for assistance. He straightened his clothes as he headed further within the building, fixing his unmanageable hair as best as he could before locating the girls. “I'm here.” He answered as he approached them, pausing exactly five feet from the women – acceptable distance in brief social situations such as this. Though, he considered backing up several more feet because what were they wearing? He gave them a critical look over, but resisted the urge to say something, which wasn't difficult considering the last owner of the library had similar 'taste'. “What do you need?”

____ #ee9988 - kita cornflowerblue - kala"Ahhh," the brown haired twin screamed from being startled.
The man didn't actually sneak up on them but she definitely wasn't expecting him to appear so suddenly when they called out for a living soul in the library. Kala looked at her sister with a raised brow and a smirk on her face.
"Relax, seler' ho findl is il tanya terrible."*
With that Kita began giggling while holding a hand over her heart. She then smiled at the gentleman before them, about to speak.
"I'm so sorry, you startled me. We would love a tour around the library."
"Also, if you could tell us the history and who the previous owners were."
"In a few weeks we wish to become the new owners and help the library grow in all its glory!"
((* relax, sister. his hair is not that terrible))

Ed did his best not to remind the girls that they were in a library and screaming was the last thing anyone should do within the dome of solitude, but he remembered the silly classical music that he still couldn't figure out how to turn off and had to refrain. Still, screaming was such a.. stupid thing to do – and what language was that? Ed raised his brow as he glanced them over again, his hand going toward his back pocket to make sure he still had a cell phone on him just in case they tried to attack him. It was hard to say with the noticeably insane how they would act, though he arguably had experience with them enough to know just what to do.
“Fine, but – No.” Whatever he started to say was cut off suddenly as his mind finally registered what these two were saying. They wanted to own the library? As in, be his employers? He was more than happy to work for the government, he didn't need some deluded fairy princesses to reign over him! “The library is grown enough. I don't think it would be a smart career choice anyway. You're obviously far better suited for..” He paused, scrambling to find something practical given what he knew of them, “...the circus. We have several books on juggling and lion taming.”
((Sorry for the wait, Dame! ;w; ))

____ #ee9988 - kita cornflowerblue - kalaKita jumped out at the man before her sister Kala held her back. The twins struggled with each other, all because he had offended them by calling them circus girls. Kala could care less but her sister didn't need to make a scene.
"Let me go, Kala! I'll show you a circus freak!"
Kala wrestled with her twin some more before finally gaining control of her and began pulling her to the front doors.
"Well come by another time then. Have a good day."
"Don't you dare pull me out of this library! I'm not done!"
After Kala took them both out of the library, he would still be able to hear Kita shouting.
"Stop, I can take him on! Kala! KALA!"

Chloe entered the public library a bit cautiously. It wasn't that the building was intimidating (certainly, it was no more intimidating than her place of employment) but she wasn't really sure if anyone was there or not and the place was surprisingly huge. She paused just inside the door, and looked around for the front desk, or the catalog system. She knew what she was here for--she just didn't know exactly where to look to find it. She made her way toward what looked like it might be the catalog system, intending to look up her target books. Meanwhile, she kept an eye out for anyone who looked like they might be a potential library oriented employee so she could ask them for help. She liked being self sufficient, but sometimes it was more efficient to just ask people first. "Hello?" she asked quietly.

Ed had jerked back and snatched his cell phone from his pocket just as the brunette lunged for him. Thankfully, before he could start dialing his phone and running to hide behind his desk, the other more sensible twin had grabbed hold of the brunette. He kept his phone open and frowned at the pair as they spoke, frustrated that someone had tried to attack him and at the term 'circus freaks'. It felt very similar to what his sister called the circus and, though he agreed they were a pointless group on the island, he had worked there. Furthermore, the way she had rejected his advice so aggressively..! He was close to being very mad at the pair, but, before they could see that side of him, the twins had left in a rush. He could at least be grateful for that much and silently pleased with the white-haired twin as he made to leave through the back of the library to calm down with a good dose of nicotine.
[End Day // New Day!]
After the dreadful encounter a week or so ago, Ed was more than happy to spend his hours alone in the library. It seemed the sisters hadn't bothered to purchase the building like they had told him they would – either they were still saving up or his meeting with them had scared them away. Good. After one more meeting to inform them how they could better handle their next conversation, he would wash his hands of the twins and move on in his quiet, solitary days in the library. He was just paging through an encyclopedia on garden plants when he heard the door open and, moments later, a quiet voice call out. He withheld a sigh as he shut the book slowly, hesitating on even gracing the newcomer with his presence on the off chance it was one of the twins come to 'apologize' or, more likely, kill him while the other wasn't looking. ...But, the book wasn't that interesting and he supposed it would save him the time of tracking them down later if they came to him.
Still, he was more than a little pleased when he saw that it wasn't them at all. A respectable woman had entered the library in completely normal clothing that didn't make him reach for his cell phone. He would have smiled, but feeling relief at not having to handle another asylum escapee wasn't a good enough reason for that. So, he approached her as usual, “Hello, I'm the librarian here. If you need assistance, and I know that you do, I'm the one to ask.” He waited a moment before adding, “I appreciate your decision to dress properly for your visit to the library.”

"I do try to dress properly wherever I go," Chloe said, smiling and not batting an eye at the less than typical greeting from a rather dour man who had shown up to offer assistance. He seemed rather funny, didn't he? She wondered if he worked here alone. She didn't see or hear anyone else... "At any rate, yes. You can help. I'm sure it would be faster simply asking, than navigating the catalog system. But I'm looking for some do it yourself instruction books, specifically regarding house repairs and the like. Unfortunately the house I moved into on the island is somewhat old and in need of minor fixing up. But I'm not entirely sure where to begin on my own.""I felt consulting books was likely the best course of action. Besides, it did give me a reason to stop by the library and get a feel for the selection of books here." She paused. Oh dear, she was talking quite a lot and she hadn't even introduced herself properly. That was rude of her, wasn't it? "Oh yes, I'm Chloe Yadav. I was recently hired on as the conservator at the museum."

..This was probably the most pleasing encounter Ed had had in all his time working at the library. True, it wasn't a very long time, but that didn't change the facts that Chloe hadn't annoyed him in any way. He considered her for a moment, trying to find something he could point out she was doing wrong but nothing really had come to mind. She was doing everything just fine, almost as if she had asked him previous to this encounter on how she should go about her task.
He frowned a tad before uttering a stupefied, “....Oh.” He couldn't waste time just standing there staring at her, though, so he introduced himself with as he recalled the location of the meager selection of home repair books they had. “I'm Ed Triggs. It's good to meet you, Chloe. The Dwellings, maintenance and repair books would be.. Ah, section TH. Follow me.”
He motioned for her to follow as he headed towards the stairs, showing her up to the second story where a majority of the books were held. Well, the books that he was going to acknowledge existed, anyway. As far as Ed was concerned, the third floor didn't exist at all and no one could convince him otherwise. “What exactly needs to be 'fixed up' in your home?” He asked her as he started on the first step – knowing that may help him better recommend a book for her, after all. Plus, he was a little doubtful one maybe above average woman could manage to fix something that may be better left to the professionals. Or Ed.

"Of course," Chloe said pleasantly, as she followed Ed to the designated section. "As to what needs fixing--well, there are places where the ceiling plaster is crumbling, a hole in one bathroom wall that needs patching, several rails on the stair banister that require replacing, and the screening on the back porch needs repairing. And the repainting that needs to be done everywhere, and refinishing some of the wood floors that have gouges an scrapes on them."And that was just inside. "The flowerbeds need quite a lot of work as well, but I'm fairly well versed when it comes to gardening already, and have a large selection of books on the subject so, for now, I should probably stay with books regarding the house repairs." "Well, I don't exactly expect to get everything done in the next few weeks, so I'm sure we can narrow it down somewhat. Since I have to refinish some of the older furniture left in the house, perhaps a book on refinishing, and a book on repairing drywall." That would at least give them a starting point. She could always return for more books later once she got the first volley of projects finished.
