When you want to be alone, go somewhere you know that you can be alone. Somewhere that you may get yourself lost. And when all is well again, then it's up to you whether you will come back again.
Her mother's words rang through Bellina's mind as she walked, not even the sounds of the leaves crunching beneath her feet drawing her mind away. Too bad the poor woman had never taken her own advice, and simply stayed away while she could. Oh, how things could have been different. "Happy now, mom?" she mumbled under her breath, fangs brushing her bottom lip. She would have to feed soon, if she wanted to retain any social skills. Why should you? a small part of her whispered, all too enticing, and all too dangerous. What need do you have to be like any of them? "Because I refuse to be like him." The word was like acid dripping off of her tongue, eyes darkening at the memories. Her father was the pinnacle of her life, and the single representative of everything she would never be.
Stop thinking about him, Stupid. She didn't come out here to brood over her life, she came to rehearse without any problems. It was then she noticed that she was stopped in a decent sized clearing, the sun peaking through a few trees to cast just the right amount of heat and light. A small breeze fluttered through, lifting her hair and bringing the slightest smile to her lips. Perfect. Taking a breath she closed her eyes, letting each performance play across her mind. When she opened them again the music still filled her ears, and her limbs had a mind of their own despite her constant control. And with that, and no one around, she performed.

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- The soft click of metal on wood escaped, the arrow sliding back into its quiver as Rin lowered his bow quietly. He'd almost mistaken her for some sort of doe, from the small frame to the graceful movements.. But this girl, whomever she was, certainly was no common beast. Pulling the bow over his shoulder he paused, pulling his hood up and over his face before returning his gaze to the girl moving so freely in the glade. Was it wrong to view it..? Perhaps, but he felt no guilt over enjoying the sight. Folding his arms across his chest the male leaned back against the tree to his right.. Content to watch the impish dance from this distance. There was no fear, something about the way the girl moved made it impossible for him to think of her as a threat.. And he had the time to give, considering he'd already eaten his fill on this hunt.
So, quietly, the boy staid where he should not have.. Watching from the shade something that was not meant to be seen. It was a rare thing to see others in these woods and normally he would avoid them like the plague.. Lost in these thoughts the boy dropped his head a little, white strands falling over his right eye at the motion. The wind was soft, the shade defending his sensitive eyes from the light.. mixed with the elegant sounds of her movements and the scent of the forest the boy was spacing out before he could help it.

The beauty of the acrobatics and the contortions, even the dance of the invisible puppet strings that held her... the point of all of these routines was that they distracted her, gave her something to focus on instead of the manic hatred and irritation for everyone around her. However, this performance- in this empty clearing out in the forest-
Someone's watching me.
Much as she hated it, it was a helpful skill. She could hear him breathing, hear him moving as he leaned against the tree, the scrape of his back against the bark. Who is he? Her curiosity was no match for her mindset however, she refused to stop until she finished the act. Only then did she bring her arms down to her sides, stand up straight, and turn so that even in the distance she was looking directly at him. And despite the bow on his back and the sense of 'other' she got off of him, she didn't feel threatened. Not from here at least, and not while he stood as a man. "I would say 'I see you' or ask 'Who are you and what are you doing here?' But I'm afraid that would be terribly cliché." The statement shocked her, she never spoke this much to someone she just met. But a part of her felt entitled to this spot, and he was intruding.

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- Cocking his head under the hood Rin took a long moment to simply study the female.. Surprised both by how strong willed her voice was, and the fact that he'd been lulled into a passive state near her. Still.. she did not seem overly fond of his company and he understood why, so with a silent shrug the boy pushed away from the tree and turned as if to leave her. Only.. he did not get two steps; The bark biting into the palm of his hand and tearing the skin easily, little crimson drops trickling down his arm as he lifted his hand for inspection. The scratch was oddly deep..
Like any animal, it was common sense to stem the flow.. but this minor cut could wait. Dropping his hand he ignored the small trail of blood that worked its way down his finger tips.. Turning his head as if to see which way he wished to go.

((Hope you're ok with this one)) Oh no.
The words would have- should have- been her next thought. Perhaps it would have been so, had the sound of his hand scraping not tickled her ears. Had the smell of his blood, so disgustingly sweet in all its iron bitterness, touched her nose and toyed with her mind. Had the beast inside of her not responded before she herself could, remembering that it had been near a month since she had last fed, and she had been training so heavily. Only then did she realize that this was the cause of her irritability with everything as of late, a dangerous clue with disastrous results pending.
She was hungry. And she was ready to hunt.
"Run!"
The word was all she could manage, shouted despite gritted teeth, doubled over in near agony as the pain burnt through her stomach. Her skull felt as if it was splitting in two, a scream bubbling in her throat that begged for release. Her heart raced so fast she thought it would jump from her chest, until at last she stood almost methodically, and looked up towards him with eyes so dark red, one would think they were on the verge of black.
The human in her was weak, the beast knew what it wanted... and where to find it....
One minute she was standing in the clearing. The next she was running, her only goal to sate her hunger with the source of that sweet, sweet smell.

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- Distracted by his own thoughts the boy froze as the order to flee echoed around him, his dark gaze finding her own over his shoulder as he noticed how quickly she was closing in on him. As if.. hunting..
Now that simply would not do.. Rin was many things, prey was not one of them. Turning smoothly on his heel the Knoxi staid still, waiting to meet this strange girl head on as she came within his reach.. and he took advantage, sliding his arms around her small form and shifting his weight to the side; His back pressed firmly against the tree again as the force of the collision sent his hood down around his shoulders. His right arm was wrapped around her right side as best as he could manage, keeping her arm down.. and holding the girl's back firmly against his chest, his feet spread to either side of her own in a oddly protective manner. Even facing away from him like this, he could tell she was delicately built.. strange that she would attempt to take on a larger predator than herself. But then he doubted it had much to do with choice. He was not angry that she was after him, if anything he was a little impressed by the ferocity she'd shown.. But this was instinct, not will, that was guiding her. He couldn't hurt someone that had not meant to cause him harm. So, with the girl locked in his hold, the Knoxi stared down at the back of her head broodingly.. unsure just what to do with her.
She'd attempted to warn him.. Was this what his brother would call 'Blood Lust'..? Sadly there seemed to be only one way to find out. He couldn't.. wouldn't.. harm her.. the only other option left was trying to calm her down. Pushing aside the doubts, and common sense, that warned him against it Rin lifted his wounded hand in front of her lips.. offering he gave a slow exhale, bracing for something to happen. His arm would heal.. She seemed to need this. ( Of course )

He dared to try to stop her.
He's bolder than I thought.
Even as she thrashed against his hold, tried to free her arm from his, she was still aware enough to be impressed by the situation. Sure, the human inside of her knew the odds had been slim. Up close he was nearly a foot taller than her, had to be about one hundred pounds heavier. But the animal inside of her took its chances anyway, merely wanting sating. Even if it meant risking herself. And my oh my, was it a risk.
As he lifted his wounded hand closer to her the battle raged at its greatest, the girl revolted and the beast feeling as if it were starving. Yet her mind was aware, causing her body to calm ever so slowly. He was offering this to her, even when she was very aware that he was a predator as well. A taste. Just a taste, and all will be right again. She didn't want to, would rather die than have that copper tang on her tongue. But what else could she do? One. small.. taste...
Biting back her displeasure she let the beast hold the reins a moment longer, meeting his hand the rest of the way. Instead of sealing her mouth over the wound as she normally would, however, she gave one long stroke with her tongue and collected all of the blood in that area, flicking over the edge of his hand before curling back in her mouth, closing her eyes as she swallowed. A shutter of satisfaction racked her body, and when she opened her eyes again they were grey once more with the slightest tint of pink. She would be fine, for now. But now that she was in control once more, she refused to take any more from him. Breathing heavily from the struggle she couldn't help but lean back against him, trying oh so very hard not to flinch at the contact. While his offer had been incredibly generous, she still didn't know him. "You should have just ran."

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- " It is not my way." Accepting her weight easily Rin didn't attempt to move her, letting the girl gather herself.. as he dropped his hand to grasp her side gently. Yes, he'd been foolish, but.. well.. so had she. They were even on the that matter. Giving a faint shake of his head the boy closed his eyes.. his tone soft yet oddly firm as he added quietly. " Breath slowly.. I have no interest in harming you female."
He'd already had his fill, and despite her attack.. Rin felt no desire to cause her pain. Clearly she had lived with this for a while, if she could keep control from that small amount of blood she'd taken.. So it stood to reason she had a way of ensuring she didn't repeat her actions near weaker creatures. He would have allowed more to be taken, but from her posture.. it was obvious she had no intention of accepting such a thing from him. ( Of course )

Stubborn brat. As it was she still heeded his words, breathing deeply in through her nose, slowly back out through her mouth. There was always a certain indescribable pain left behind when she lost control, and had he not been holding her as he was, she had no doubt she would be on the forest ground until it went away. "From the looks of it stranger, you don't really have a way." She had no doubt that the bow on his arm had at one point been aimed directly at her, and by rights it should have been. Especially once she had been in hunt mode, even she would have shot herself in his shoes.
Despite the small amount she had taken from him, the relief throughout her body was incredible, a warmth that was near unmatchable by anything else. "I'm only half. Even in that state, it doesn't take much to bring me back... Unless it's me myself that is gone." And then it seemed the Vampire in her was never sated, not until she could finally manage to bring herself back. Nevertheless, next time do yourself a favor and shoot to kill."

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- Stubborn girl. Listening to her words with a passive manner the boy seemed to ignore her.. his arms shifting and his larger frame moving forward to sweep the female up into a bridal hold smoothly. She couldn't just lean against him, as much as he oddly enjoyed it.. So he would give her a more comfortable perch to rest upon. Walking to the next tree he focused on the low branch, only about rib-high for him.. and a perfect place for his headstrong companion.
Lifting her high he allowed her to sit on the branch slowly, testing the limb before trusting it to its task.. Rin calmly starting to inspect her left hand as he caught the delicate fingers in his larger ones. " Were you harmed?" He may have grabbed her too tightly before, or brushed her against the tree.. better to be safe than sorry.

When he lifted her, her reaction was two-prone. A part of her bristled at his boldness, while another part of her was shocked at the action itself. While his manner clearly showed a distinct difference, she couldn't help but think of the man that haunted her life. He had always had a clear disregard for what others said to him, doing as he pleased in the end just as this one was doing. And yet, this man's actions were more... helpful, was the only word she could put to it, or genuine. Like he had nothing to gain from this, but he was going to do it anyway.
Lost in her musings as she was, she didn't notice he had moved until she felt the hardness of the branch underneath her, tightening her legs even as they dangled and holding on with her right hand to keep balance. Why does he, a stranger of all beings, leave me so distracted when few can scarcely hold my attention at all? She was bewildered by the thought, unable to do too much but stare at him as he took her hand in his. Wait, what did he just say?... Oh yes. "I don't believe so. I can't feel anything wrong." Not on the outside at least. The burn had already started to fade inside of her, more an irritation at this point. She would be fine again in a matter of moments, had bought herself maybe a day at most. And still he worried about her being hurt? "I'm stronger than my frame suggests, do not doubt that." She couldn't necessarily take him on despite her added strengths, but she could hold her own in most other situations.

-------------------- Rin Wilshire ----------------- " Strength is not immunity to pain." Though she was quite strong, he'd willingly admit that.. Because he admired it. She had came at him with impressive force, catching her as he did hadn't changed the fact that his abdomen was a little sore from the impact. Tilting his head down slightly Rin ignored the way his hair rushed to cover his eyes, falling easily over his dark gaze as if he let it do so normally. He could still see just fine around it, well used to the rebellious locks.. and actually a little more comfortable with them this way.
After a moment like this, the boy lost in thought, he finally shifted his weight ever so faintly to the side.. his free hand reaching up to grasp the familiar arch of his bow against his shoulder. " You dislike mine.. Will normal animal's blood do?" Rin would hunt for her.. if she allowed it. Keigo often told him that other species would find a Knoxi distasteful, perhaps he had meant it in this way.. He was, after all, a flesh eater himself. Still, if he couldn't feed her on his own.. He would try to do so another way. True he didn't know anything about her aside from her race and the fact that she could dance so beautifully, but she did not seem too uncomfortable around him.

Unfortunately, he had had a point. Luckily though, the pain was gone now, a slight shift of fatigue the only indication it had been there at all. A simple drawback that would also be dealt with in a matter of hours, sooner if she actually allowed herself to relax. She would be fine. She always was. Pride is the biggest downfall to all, including those like you...
Shaking these thoughts from her head she looked back at him at his next question, arching a brow. Animal blood... He was willing to hunt for her? This man was either a much to generous soul, or there was a high chance he was up to something. "To be honest, I don't know. It could make it better, or it could make it worse." She wasn't about to tell him that his blood had actually pact a punch into her system, a sensation she was not used to as she did not feed on other species, only human bags. "Why are you helping me, stranger?"
