Name: Bellina Bianchi
Nickname: While most will never know it, she allows those closest to her to call her “Lean”- a nickname given to her by her mother because she couldn’t gain weight even when she tried. She refuses to answer to any attempted shorthand of her name. If you are a stranger, then she is Bellina.
Occupation/Role in the Circus: Despite her talents lying in the ways more of contortion and acrobatics, she prefers to stay out of the major spotlight and be more of a substitute when necessary, otherwise contributing in labor. Her more common assistance aside from acrobatics includes being a human puppet, willing to be manipulated in the name of public entertainment, though she is open to learning new acts.
Age: 17
Species: Half-Blood (Vampire and Human)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Date of Birth: August 23rd
Height/Weight: 5’10” 124 lbs
Gender: Female
Personality: While Bellina is not the most social of beings, she does enjoy conversation every now and then. Most of her time is dedicated to improving her skills and keeping with her schooling, not wanting to risk being told to leave despite her blasé attitude. When she cares for someone, she cares very deeply, but it may be a long time before she hits that level with some people. If her father taught her anything, it is that trust is not to be given out lightly, and better to have an acquaintance than a friend, closeness can kill quicker than any enemy.
As a half breed she does need to feed every now and then, though more on a month by month basis and only a pint or two. Sunlight may be irritating but it cannot harm her as severely as it would any other vampire. However, her hunger may also be affected by any stress on her, both mind and body. This may sometimes be the result of a sort of war inside of her, the vampire the wants to rule, and the human who only wants to be great from behind the scenes.
Surprisingly enough, her hunger actually increases her powers, warning signs including a growing irritability on her part. As the vampire side of her grows mad with starvation, she grows stronger while her will and control grows weaker. Even her eyes will change, the color indicating how far gone she really is. The only good thing her father ever gave her, the grey is normal, darkening to bright red and darkening the farther into the craze she is. When her eyes turn black, there is no hope until that side of her deems itself sated, or until her human side may find the strength to take over once more.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes: any music, rehearsing/practicing, watching the stars or clouds every now and then. When the mood suits her she may lay somewhere with her eyes closed, simply listening.
Dislikes: Being stuck in an overcrowded space, too loud noises, being the only one in the spotlight, messing up an act, and Broccoli. Even the smell of the vegetable may make her gag.
Biography: Her mother was wholly human, and a dancer in her small world. Her father was a full blooded vampire who- according to her mother- could put even the devil to shame in terms of looks and charm. It only took three nights for her father to get what he wanted from her mother, and even after they found out she was pregnant he toyed with her, near to the point that Bellina was nearly never born. The only times in her life she could recall seeing the man, he would leave just as quickly, and her mother would be left crying in the sitting room, hands shaking as she clung to the lapels of her robe. While she was as loving as she could bring herself to be, she found it difficult to look her daughter in the eye, seeing the face of the vampire that constantly tormented her. Hoping to ease her burden- and her own in the sense of having to deal with her father- Bellina applied to attend Le Carnaval, heading out the very day she got her letter of acceptance and gaining the knowledge and skills she needed to be as helpful as possible.
The irony doesn’t escape her, that she may choose to be someone’s doll for the sake of entertainment when it was that very notion that broke her mother’s spirit every visit. A part of her knew that the woman was safe with her daughter gone though, because deep down she knew her father only came around because he could see the growing hatred in her eyes every time her mother cried. This ‘childhood’- or lack thereof- has left her with a heavy dislike of her own people, she cannot stand the vampiric side of herself, if only because it is a reminder that there is indeed cruelty in this world. If her father had simply never bothered to come near her, at least she would have been allowed a little more of a human upbringing.
Talents/Abilities: Vampiric: Though not to the degree of a normal vampire, she does have heightened senses. She may see at night, her hearing is more acute (hence why she can’t stand loud music), her sense of smell is greater. Her strength is not that of a full vampire, but she does have the ability to lift up to about five times her own weight. Speed is great but not wholly impressive in her mind. Agility is easily passed off by her extra hours of training.
