I don't know if anyone likes to make games, but I know where you can get a program called RPG Maker 2003. It's a very kick @$$ program and you can do just about anything with it. Make your own maps, characters, monsters, weapons, spells, items, even set teh stats for all the stuff to. You can even make the animations of the spells and select your own music for certain situations (Music formats used are either WAV or MIDI) There is also a program called RPG Maker XP, but it's actually not as good as RPG Maker 2003 for the fact that the battle system in 2003 is like Final Fantasy where as the XP version is like Dragon Warrior. (where all you see is the monsters and your attack animations only)
If you would like to know where to get this program, please let me know and will help you out. It's great program if you like RPG games and want to make your own so you get the idea on how the SNES RPG's were made. The animations are in 2D, but hey, SNES made some great 2D RPG's for sure.
Anyways, let me know if you would like more information.

I heard of this RPG Maker, it looks cool...ashame I don't have the system, what system is it one again? Is it the PS2?

There is a Xp version. I found a free download for it, but it looks like it is either a demo or a share ware.

Actually, I am refering to ths PC version, not the console. The XP is good, but RPG Maker 2003 is much better, it uses the Final Fantasy battle system versus the XP's Dragon Warrior battle system, which is not that impressive.

When I get a chance, I'll put some screen shots of the game on here so everyone can see what I am talking about. It's a great program for who ever has wanted to ever know how they mae RPG games.

Yeah that looks like the one I had. I wasn't really good at it. I didn't know how to make battles. My game was only like one minute long.

First you had to go to the Database menu and first create your monsters that you wanted, then go into the Battle System and set what kinds of monsters would be in the battle and for what maps. The other part was located in the MAP editing itself. You had to tell it how many steps or percentage of battle events. Plus, also check the box to see if there is suppose to be battles for that map. It is a bit complicated, but once you know where most of the stuff is, it will be great.
