Bass'ken Lake

Bass'ken Lake is a body of water surrounded by land. The lake is primarily fresh water, quite the tourist attraction. Fishermen from all over flock daily to this spot, trying their best to get catches of the day as well as any shot at the legendary 'Sea Bass' (Goldenlion, or whatever the local believers call it).

Recreational activites abound here as well, such as boating, picnicking and other activities.

North - Port of Gambino
South - Barton North Gate
West - The Void

Keeping to the path, Masuyu lead the jeep on it's way towards The Port Of Gambino.

It wasn't until they reached the lake that Athan decided that traveling by foot was just going to end up getting them both tired. They had easily covered a good five or six miles by the time he came to a stop beside the road.

"Alright.."

Even he had to admit he was getting fatigued.

"We need a better method of transportation. Any ideas?"

He looked down the road. Maybe someone would be nice enough to let the pair 'borrow' their vehicle.

"Hitchhike?" Kit suggusted, gasping for breath.
Listening to the silent air, Kit heard a car comming. That gave Kit an idea, and it was a hell lot better than hitchhiking, and a lot more fun.
Putting his bag down, Kit opened his bag and searched for a leaf, his hand went into a compartment filled with a few special leaves, he eventually found one that had a crude picture of a cloud on it.
"One second..."
Kit put the leaf between his hands and closed his eyes, he started concentrating on the leaf, he imagined on a thick cloud of smoke, making it as thick as pea soup, but not so thick that noone can see through it, but if you didn't have good vision, good luck.
"Just tell me when it comes, it's pretty close."

Athan took up a position on the other side of the road, crouched down in some underbrush that would no doubt make it hard for someone to see him, particularly given the amount of smoke that was beginning to fill the area.

"Ready and..."

He rose his hand, although it was a pretty pointless gesture. As soon as the car was about fifteen yards away, he dropped his hand.

"NOW!"

Whatever Kit had planned, it had better work. Because the only way Athan knew how to stop a car without throwing himself in front of it was by slashing the tires. And that wasn't going to keep the thing in working condition.

The illusion was good enough, Kit threw the leaf in the middle of the road and it exploded in a huge poof of smoke that filled about 12 feet of the road. The car stopped screeched to a halt, judging from the sound, it turnned, and judging by the crunch, it crashed.
Kit cleared the smoke away with a wave of a hand and picked up the leaf from the road. It looks like the corner of the car nicked a tree trying to get away from the cloud. It seemed workable though, the person who was driving didn't seem as durable. He crept closer and saw the person was still breathing, just sleeping. The car, a little crunched at the side, was a rectangular one, there was a wood panel on each side of the vehicle, Kit heard it was called a "Woodie".
Kit frowned, "I thought it was just gonna stop, guess not, eh?"

Athan stepped up to the car and pulled open the door. The guy inside wasn't exactly conscious at the time, so he probably wouldn't mind if Athan just tossed him to the ground.

Which he did.

"Hey, it's still running. That's good enough for me."

He slid his sword from his back and threw it into the back seat of the car before hopping into the passenger seat.

"You drive. I was never very good with pedals."

"Drive?" Kit said, getting inside the car, looking at the steering wheel, then at the pedals underneath.
"I'm a hundred year old spirit exiled here on Earth, you think I can drive a car like this one?"
He stepped on one of the pedals and the car came to life.
Unfortunately, it wasn't in reverse at the time.

His head snapped forward as the car rammed, once again, into the tree.

"Alright, get out, I'll drive."

He stepped out of the car, looking at the front end of the car. It was definetly dented, but since they didn't really have a running start at the tree, it would still work alright. It just looked like they didn't have any insurance.

Athan stepped around the other side of the car and dropped himself into the driver's seat. He waited for Kit to hop in before he shifted into reverse, backed up without hitting the previous owner, then took off down the road towards the Port of Gambino.

Kit climbed through the middle of the car and sat in the passanger seat, it's time to go, the laughing spirit better still be there...

In the center of the lake, floated a ball...but not just any ball but an enormous ball of yarn. The size of a small house, it simply floated in the lake....bobbing back and forth...

opaj disembarked from the ferry and walked out towards the lake. He stopped when he saw the yarn floating out in the water.

His stomach muscles involuntarily tensed. His fingernails bit into the palm of his hand. They still stank of the blood of kitties. Quickly drawing Utou with his right hand, he took a step towards the shore.

He had to find out what was going on with that yarn.

((About how wide would you say the lake is?))

The lake itself was the size of a small neighborhood park. And currently taking up a fair portion of that size was the floating ball of string. And just as large and attention getting was the next thing a large pitiful "MEOW!!!!!" sound that almost deafened anyone near.

"Gah!" opaj covered one ear with his left hand, pressing the other against his shoulder. After the deafening cat-call had subsided, he looked around frantically. Not seeing anything (I presume), he closed his eyes and began to scan for any out-of-the-ordinary life force. Or, failing that, any particularly feline life force, although it was unlikely that he'd be able to sense that degree of detail.

"Do what!?" Gamma shouted back in response, pretending he didn't hear. Atleast this place wasn't ******** up all of his equipment. Just a lake, and he was heading north. Gammu wanted to recon this place since they went from 'Aekea' and 'Durem' already. He hit the gear up one more and sent a spurt of black smoke into the air trailing after the Gaian military truck.
