The North Gate - Barton All of North Gate is an area of open space provided for recreational uses. In this sense, the park itself is owned and provided by the government. Park uses are divided into two categories: active and passive recreation. Active recreation is that which require intensive development and often involves cooperative or team activity, including playgrounds and ball fields. Passive recreation is that which emphasizes the open-space aspect of a park and which involves a low level of development, including picnic areas and trails.

Athan was hauling a** by the time he reached the parkgrounds. His sword was no longer in hand, instead it had found its resting place on his back once more. It was only by sheer coincidence that he had found himself darting along one of the wooded trails that had recently been cut. It would have been pretty and calming if it weren't for the distant wail of sirens in the background.

Kit gasped for breath as they went farther through the whirlwind tour of Barton's park.
He grinned and asked, "You know, for partners, we don't know one another's name... What's yours?"

With a slide drift, the jeep lined up with the north gate and rushed through on it's way to Bass'ken Lake.

Athan continued on his breakneck run, looking over his shoulder only once at his new 'partner'. Who was this guy anyway?
"Athan."
He turned around, just in time to duck beneath a low hanging branch. After that, it was a quick jump that took him off the path and out of the town's gate. The two fugitives were now heading towards Bass'ken Lake.
"How about yourself?"

"It's Kit, nice to meetcha!"
He jumped and grabbed the branch Athan just avoided. He swung on it for a moment and let go, the lake was in sight.
"Don't think those policemen will catch up anytime soon." He murmered to himself.

A blue light fell from the heavens and jammed itself into the ground. Moments later the earth cracked and rumbled at that point. A full sized statue of a king burst through the ground.
Only instead of a septer it held a platter with both hands. Laying on said platter was one quarter of a golden circle, inscribed with runic patterns. The quarter coin was about the size of a human fist.

"I found it ly-- oh, crap! Stop the tin can!"
But myst didn't care if it stopped or if it kept going. Already the door was flung open, and the girl was rolling on the ground. A second or two later, she got up and dashed to the statue, latching herself onto it's side with legs and arms before picking up her treasure.

Shouyin was slowing down slowly, but she was already out the door. Blinking in that clueless way he did, he parked the Impala somewhere, locked everything up as usual, and ran after her. He'd noticed the similar statue once he'd found her in the small crowds of kids and adults enjoying themselves in the parks and whatnot.
"Heeeey! Another one?" So, his lil' hunch had been right. He was guessing there were two other pieces after this one then, but he was curious to see what it read on the underside. Coming up beside her, he peered over her shoulder inquisitively, not really thinking about stealing it or anything, just interested to see it.
"Read the bottom yo."

It was solid gold whatever it was. All with ornate designs that seemd to cut off abrupty on the flat edges.
Under the coin the word "truth" was inscribed.
The minute Myst read it, the statue would crumble into pebbles

"Says truEEP!"
She was still clinging to the statue, until it crumbled and her nice, firm, round, peach a** kissed the pebbly floor. To the soot and ash and blood added dust and sand. Truely, it was only getting better.
but Myst was beaming as she held the coin high in front of her face with both hands.
"Truth!"

"Really? Mine says that too." Shou'd help Myst to her feet and smile. He was kinda itching to head to that Guild Sector, see if there was some smith or antiquities dealer who had an idea about the pieces. The library too, but he'd learnt that word of mouth could often be more reliable than old written words. Or not, it depended on the crowd you were in.
But first.
"Umm, you wanna stop somewhere, hotel or whatever, so you can get a shower?"
Innocently posed, in case one of your perverts was thinking otherwise.
He just didn't want the girl messing up his car seat anymore than it was.

"Oh? No, I'm fine." A piece of ash fell off her eyelid as she blinked, and it made her sneeze as it passed under her nose. Luckily for Shouyin, when Myst wiped her nose and looked back up, she noticed something clear and bright beyond the cars going out of Barton.
"Heeeeey ... is that a lake?"

"... M'kay." Shouyin sighed inside, knowing this wasn't the kind of situation where trying to convince her would be the best bet. Since, y'know, girls, mixed messages, he says shower, she says 'YOU THINK I'M DIRTY OH MY GOD I HATE YOU', and then things go down to the twelfth level of Hell.
Yeah.
But his subtle prayers were answered, and a smile crossed the half-golem's face.
"Looks like it. Bass'ken I think." Shouyin had had an unfortunate swim in that place once, but he could let such unhappy situations go for the sake of his car being spared anymore ash, dirt, mud, blood and death. He headed towards the car, unlocking everything and walking around to the passenger's side, opening the door for her, before getting in himself and whatnot.
And off they'd go to the beach.
