Welcome to the first All the Write Reasons contest. As mentioned in the title this contest is about writing a synopsis.
What is a synopsis you may ask? Well, a synopsis is similar to that lovely little blurb at the back of a book that makes us want to pick the confounded thing up and start flipping pages. This contest is open to all members so if you're a poet or fanfiction writer- fear not! I will accept all submissions and all will be given a fair chance. Helping me judge will be our official contest judges, Vector_Foxtrot and ChibiDanceParty. Rules and guidelines: 1. When sending your submission via personal message please put "Synopsis Contest Submission" in the subject line
2. Also in the message itself, along side your synopsis, please include your name, the title of your novel, short story, fanfiction or poetry compilation, and the genre in which it would be categorized in.
3. Your synopsis must be more than 250 words (and I will be checking so don't try to fool me).
4. It must also be edited to the best of your abilities. If you are worried it isn't good enough, try asking for advice around the guildNow that all of the dirty details are cleared up let us get to what you may have a chance at winning!
Rewards
There will be three winning slots- first, second and third. Each of those place holders will receive cover art for their synopsis! They will also win gold!First place: 20 000 gold, and cover art
Second place: 10 000 gold, and cover art
Third Place: 5000 gold, and cover art.The deadline for this contest is May 1st 2013. Winners will be announced and rewarded at this time.Now here is a sample cover art from one of my own novels so you'll know what to expect:

I pretty much just summarize what would sound like a story I would write, right?

If you write poetry you can write the synopsis for the back of a poetry compilation book based off the sort of poetry you write. If you only have an idea or concept, you can still write a synopsis for said idea or concept.
Everyone is capable of participating in this contest unless of course they have no story, no novel, no poetry, no fanfiction, ETC. In other words if an individual has no writing- not even an inkling of a piece or idea, then no, they will not be able to pull off this contest unless they feel like pulling it out their butt as a writing exercise which in that case can be a useful for practice.
Again there really is no reason for someone not to be able to submit for this contest unless of course they don't want to.

Is there a max amount of words? Since usually synopsis aren't long ballads or anything? Lol.

That's the synopsis

This is a lovely idea for a contest.
I have just the story in need of one of these so the timing is perfect.
Also I do meant to nitpick because it is really bothering me, the "more then 250 words" should be than.

Since I already have one written I guess I can spruce it up and submit it. I'm more interested in the concept art than the money really.

I normally just ignore it when people make mistakes but for some reason that one got to me.
