"In the country of Temuria, a storm is brewing! The King has fallen to the Influence of the Dark, a sect of demons who wish to destroy the almighty Kingdom of Light Gyldar. Will you be the mighty hero who will stand up to fight against the evil king Tyrfang and save the world of Crimson from evil?!"

These words were written on the back of the game known as CrimsonBound an adventure game made by Realism At it's FINEst, a low scale developer that no one really cares for... except for Alan. Alan followed these developers to hell and back, and has often funded their games. This game actually looks like it has the potential to be really great, but of course Alan is the only one in his area who buys it. Which is good, considering that there is only one copy of the game in the store. He quickly bought it and sped home, hoping that this game would be better than the last game. He inserted the disk and inserted his character information and difficulty. The entry questionnaire was fully voiced, and when he finished the voice spoke:

"I believe I can trust you... Yes, you're just the person who can help me..."

And then he was engulfed in blinding light.

Name: Alan Cromwell (Hero name: Alderon)
Personality: Alan is a bit cocky when it comes to his gaming skills. In fact, he is the cockiest man ever when it comes to games. He considers himself to also be very charming (which he isn't really) and the man has an issue with not wanting to have many great burdens in his life. Other than that, he will help as best he can, with at least a few complaints. In case you haven't noticed, he is way too lazy for physical activities in any way shape or form.
Abilities : Can summon allies to aid him in battle (Only one at a time)
Summon List:
Fira- A flame elemental with basic fire spells.

Mina- A small fairy that can cast basic support spells.

Weapon(s): Started out with a pair of Gauntlets(switches forms randomly with no bonuses for form changes), and a Sword(which provides elemental bonus damage, but he is stuck with the fire sword until later on.)
History: Alan Cromwell is a name not many people know in his city: After all, he has shut himself away from the world for the most part. He likes no one but his family, and he hasn't left the house since his friends abandoned him. Well, he hasn't left for more than an hour at the most. Mostly, he just plays third party games and writes reviews. He has made several hundred dollars of of his job, and he is somewhat proud of it. This is the reason his friends left him: No one wanted to be associated with the super gaming nerd, not even his girlfriend. But that's okay, because Alan will show them one day that what he does is cool, even if he ends up getting sucked into a game and becoming a hero himself.

Name: Emmeria Scarlet

Age: 123

Personality: Emmeria is kind and sweet under most circumstances. She's also a bit timid. Nevertheless, when she's angry, or determined to do something, she can become stubborn, and maybe a bit mean. Generally she plans her moves out 3 steps ahead, with mixed results.

Abilities:
-Psychic Rank II: able to catch slight glimpses of future events, telekinetically lift anything below 200 pounds,( 4x her lifting capacity with her actual hands.)and communicate via telepathy.

-Priestess Rank I: able to use minor holy magic. (including one healing spell)

Weapon(s):
-Thin Silver Sword. (Blade 1 ft long and 1 cm thick and incredibly sharp)
-She can use short swords, wands, staves, orbs, and books (she can be taught to use other weapons)

History: Emmeria is the trueborn princess of Temuria and King Tyrfang's only daughter. Due to her father's warlike tendencies, she spent most of her time with her mother, who was the only one who knew she was blind and psychic until about age 7. It was at this time that she was seen levitating one of the guard for fun. She eventually learned to use her powers to see and at age 13, she could roam the castle without an escort 95% of the time. (If anyone heard her hit a wall, they were to carry her to her destination immediately. At age 19 she was wandering as usual when she heard her mother scream. Of course she hadn't screamed yet, this was a vision of the future. She frantically searched for the Queen, only to find that her dad had already arranged for her to be sacrificed to a large demon. It was then that she heard the actual scream. She tried to sneak away and tell someone but the demon caught her and attempted to eat her. That is, until it saw her powers. The King, seeing this as an opportunity sold her to the demon as a slave in return for partial immortality. It was then with her help that her father proceeded to take over 2 other neighboring countries. Tired of the King's shenanigans ans sympathetic for the Princess's fate, the elders of the council conspired to kidnap her from the demon and then locked her away in suspended animation so that no one could abuse her powers. Meanwhile, for the next century her father continued his conquest, despite the lack of a psychic and by now, rules half of the world.

Alan (Alderon) Cromwell: The Hero

Alan covered his eyes as the light from his screen bursted outward. Was this part of the game? Because if it was, this was just annoying. I mean, what kind of game blinds their players? "You were a fool to come into my palace, Supposed Hero Alderon." The demonic voice that was supposed to come from the screen seemed hauntingly real now. He opened his eyes to find himself in some kind of throne room, with a very imposing man standing before him. "You wished to 'free' these people, but look at you! Not even knowing that the very person you came to kill is immortal!" Oh could this guy shut up about the fire sword already?! Alan blinked in realization that these were the hero's thoughts that were merging with his. Just what the heck is going on here anyway? "Then you have the gall to storm my castle! I think I shall make a public example out of you." The dark booming laughter filled the hall, and Alan clenched his fists, preparing for what seemed to be his death at the hands of a videogame. 'Well this just sucks for me doesn't it?' He thought glumly, waiting for the end to come.

"Am I...awake...? No... something else... Asleep, but conscious... Am I dreaming? Can't be...I see him...I see him" Emmeria thought as she floated within her prison. She had only recently began to watch this 'hero' that she had seen in a passing vision. Why was he so interesting? Because, he was challenging her father, something she hadn't seen a mortal do in a long time. Of course what she was seeing hasn't happened yet. Or to be more accurate, has just now happened after she saw it. The battle was fiery, but apparently, the King is immune to fire. She honestly worried for him for a moment. He couldn't die yet could he? There was a way to save him... she just hoped that she could inform him in time.

" Don't be afraid... swing your sword...now!"

She yelled in her mind just as King Tyrfang lifted his sword. she just hoped he'd listen. If he did, he could at least escape this predicament. She really hoped he listened as the results for not doing so would be quite gruesome, something she wouldn't want to see again.

Alan (Alderon) Cromwell: The Hero

Alderon- Alan, jeez this whole hero thing has been bugging him, prepared for the final swing to end his life. Apparently they were quite conscious of health bars here, or maybe it was just him... Because that ugly bright red color flashing was bothering him. On top of that this king's ranting was getting annoying. Like seriously, we get you're all high and mighty and stuff- Would it kill this man to shut up about the fire sword already?! Alan- Screw it, he's just going to call himself Al from now on seeing as that's the only part of their names in common, prepared himself to die until he heard a voice in the back of his head telling him to swing the sword. He was about to question what sword she (he assumes it was female) is talking about because the sword was kicked away from- Oh wait. It wasn't. That was his sword before the demon magicks kicked in. You still had yours. Al quickly got up and swung, leaving a scratch on the king's face. While he complained and roared about immortality, you ran to the nearest window and chopped it in half, and proceeded along the ledge outside. "I swear, if there are some convenient archers out here, I am blaming this mystery girl for my death." Al thought as he traversed the narrowest of ledges.

He heard her! If she could move, Emmeria would sigh with relief. To bad she wasn't even breathing at the moment. Suspended animation is wierd. Anyway... she watched as he inched his way along the narrow ledge. She saw a possible escape route, but it was pretty dangerous. Then again, the other alternatives were 100% deadly. She had a duty to get him out safely and she would do it. " You can hear me! Great! Now make your way to the balcony on your left. There will be a few enemies waiting on you, but you an take them... she paused once more to consider how much more she knew and then said," oh and avoid the windows...the more you're seen through, the more enemies you'll have to deal with."

Al proceeded to follow this girl's advice, and began scaling down the ledge to find people standing on the balcony. To say that he was excited wouldn't be a lie... After all, this was some pretty good virtual reality! His health had regenerated some and was now in the yellow, so he could probably take a few hits without dying. However, he did not hear the part about the windows. So when he saw other people coming down the ledge, he jumped over to the balcony, tackling one of the men there in the process. These guys looked like hardboiled fighters... "So um... How exactly do I fight?" he mumbled, hoping that this voice could hear him as well as he could hear her. He intended to win this game, so the combat is something he would need to figure out.

Emmeria had seen the Alderon say something, but couldn't hear exactly what he said. He made it to the balcony safely but he didn't make much of an effort to dodge the windows which meant he was in for a tough fight. It was then that she realized that he was going to ask something about how to beat them all. " Press the X button to attack. These guys don't look very strong so a simple combo should maim a few." she advised as the soldiers drew closer. "Also, notice the list of moves in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can use the control pad to scroll through them and the triangle button to use one. Beware, these attacks often cost MP or AP. If either runs out, it'll cut your health by the difference!" she warned. Just then, or perhaps we should say 3 seconds later, a soldier attempted to attack him. Just as it lifted it's club Emmeria explained,"oh and press the square button to block and press it while moving to dodge. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble by being evasive." She left out the other buttons for now, since those were the main three important ones.

Alan (Alderon) Cromwell: The Hero

Al smiled as he brought up his blade to block the one his enemy was swinging at him. Okay, so there was only two enemies- And then the doors to the inside of the castle opened up behind him, revealing what sounded like the footsteps of a bunch of more guards. Well wasn't that gosh darn fantastic? Although the colorful language Al used wasn't quite the same. He sighed as the nice guide lady gave him mostly useless information. So it seemed you didn't think of commands like other games, you actually had to them. Fine by him. He sidestepped one guards blade while deflecting another one. Too many people to take one on one... Oh. Right. There was a skill menu. Now how did he bring that out again? Al thought on it for a moment and then grinned devilishly. Fire. Freaking. Sword. The sword seemed to respond to him as it let loose a burst of flame strong enough to make a gap in the group surrounding him. So Al proceeded to book it straight into the castle. "Alright, you're leading me... So where exactly should I go from here?" He looked up, assuming the voice was some sort of angel or something.

Alderon chose to evade and run. Not the best option, but..at least he's still breathing. He seemed to be intent on talking, more than likely to her. She decided to just tell him," I can't hear you. I can only see you..." She then told him,"I wish for you to find me... If you can, I'll help you get out of here. Try to find a way downstairs. Oh, and be careful, these halls aren't empty..." One could tell that she was worried but just her voice alone. She then figured some more advice was in order. " Be sure to use the L and R buttons to look around. Be attentive, lest you be caught unaware..."

Alan (Alderon) Cromwell: The Hero

Al cursed himself mentally for speaking a little too loudly, as more guards came out of seemingly nowhere. 'Thanks game logic', he thought glumly before cutting them down. Huh, so these were cannon fodder. Meaning he could have totally reaped the rewards of kicking all the guy's butts back there. Crud. All well, now he proceeded to look for a staircase. 'So she can't hear me... And the fact that she's talking about buttons means this wasn't supposed to be VR... This could be a problem...' He wished he could project his thoughts to her, as some form of communication. After all, just being by himself was getting kind of lonely... Speaking of being attentive, Al noticed some guards nearby. He snuck up behind them and, systematically kicking their asses to kingdom come. "Now what's next?" He mumbled to himself as he approached the nearest staircase and began winding his way down.

She was happy that Alderon was getting a bit of experience under his belt. She was even more glad that he was about to descend the stairs safely. He'd be descending into the dungeon in a few minutes. Sadly, she could no longer guarantee his opponents would be human. From there, he'd have to go down another floor into the deepest part of the dungeon. "Once you clear the stairs, try to find a large barred gate. It has a switch to it somewhere, perhaps you can find it an open it... oh and watch out for monsters..." In this she actually meant that she saw the he would find the switch and if he wasn't careful he might get his intestines ripped out by giant rats along the way. She was getting excited, she was going to be free at last! Being stuck in an enclosed space for a century was not fun at all.

Alan (Alderon) Cromwell: The Hero

Al walked with blade in hand, ready just in case something jumped out at him. Generally, people don't like dark hallways, and he was no exception to this rule. In fact, this was doubly so for him: He was terrified of the darkness. "Alright you're a hero now, so be brave.." Apparently his sword had a nice little glow function, and that was probably how they used to explain being able to see in the dark from a first person perspective. Either way, it was handy... Until the sword disappeared from his hand. The resounding whimper wasn't exactly manly. "How uncool..." He would have continued complaining but then torches lit the way along the hallway. Huh. Well if that wasn't creepy as hell, he didn't know what was. Then the squeaking began. Al turned slowly to find a nice giant... ugly... "...rat." Al looked all over his person, only to realize that the only weapon he had on him was his gauntlets, and they didn't seem to have any magic in them. Maybe the magic sword was a tutorial thing and now this was the real deal? Well either way, this seriously sucks. "Well.... Au revoir!" And with that he turned tail and ran to the end of the hall way.

Emmeria's voice could be heard in his head, giggling at him. "My, you're fast..." she joked as she watched what he was about to do/was doing. Sometimes she did forget that she was watching the future and not the present. She secretly wondered where the sword went though. That was odd and inconvenient. Speaking of inconvenience, the giant rat gave chase, along to with two more rats of similar size. Today was just not his day! She foresaw that the rats were faster than him so he'd have to fight them off somehow.
