Name Meaning: English for 'to treasure'
Gender: female
Race: Foxtaur pygmy
Personality: A protective, motherly pygmy. She is kind and caring to those she loves but to strangers she is cold and suspicious.
History: She found a young cattaur one cold spring day and raised him as if he was her own. She kept him from others always suspicious of them and thus sheltered him to the point that he barely knew anything. She is not happy that Calder is going out into the world.

Gender: male
Race: Cattaur
Mate: Glorianna
Personality: A silent Cattaur as he cannot speak. He is just beginning to understand his magic and is a late bloomer with magic. He is quite kind and curious about things as he had been sheltered most of his life.
History: He was abandoned as a baby and was found by Cherish. She raised him in the forest away from all others. He was thus sheltered and told that town was a dangerous place to go. He learned how to read and write but until he was a teen had never seen a book.

Personality: A shy pygmy. Ralphie is soft spoken and tends to hide from others. He is quite sweet even with his shyness.

Name: Rin Yukimura
Name Meaning: Japanese for dignified, severe, cold; Yukimura means snowy village
Gender: female
Race: Cervitaur
Mate: none
Personality: A cold and severe girl. Rin is the daughter of a village chief and thus grew up as 'royalty'. She carries an air of dignity and pride about her. However she doesn't skirt her responsibilities or any jobs given to her. Because of her position as next in line to be village chief she grew up with all the other kids her age avoiding her and so she became cold and holds everyone to her standards.
History: Born as the only child to the village chief to a snowy village. Rin is next in line to take over as village chief. She was raised from birth as if she was a princess and taught all she needed to know to rule the village as a just and fair chief. All the other kids her age avoided her and she became a loner. However she does like others and was hurt when everyone avoided her or treated her as if they could never be equals or friends.

Personality: A kind seahorse. Muirgen is easily startled and just about anything will send her 'running'. She speaks softly but when frustrated will yell (she gets frustrated very easily). She hangs around Euterpe all the time.

Name: Euterpe
Name Meaning: Greek for delight. In Greek mythology she was one of the nine Muses, the muse of music and joy.
Gender: female
Race: Syrin
Mate: none
Personality: A happy and kind Syrin. Euterpe loves to be around others but is often alone. She enjoys going to new places and helping others as well. She also loves to sing (and talk) but unfortunately she has the worst singing voice ever. This led her to be teased and bullied as a young child but she never let that bother her.
History: Euterpe came from a line of singers and she came as a big disappointment when she first tried to sing and everyone found out she had such a bad voice. Her parents were very strict with her, pounding lessons into her, in hopes that her voice would improve. However nothing helped.
All as a child Euterpe was teased and bullied because of her voice. She never let that get her down. Nor did she allow it to stop her from doing what she loved: to sing. She knows she has a bad voice but she feels that the feeling and depth she puts into her songs makes up for her voice.

Name: Gethin
Name Meaning: Welsh for dark-skinned, swarthy
Gender: male
Race: Wolftaur
Mate: none
Personality: A dark warrior. Gethin keeps to himself and hates to be around others. He was a great warrior for his village until one day he went mad and killed everyone in his village. Now he can't remember his past, only his name and his ability to fight. He wanders around staying away from others as the few times he has gone around others he's lost his senses and killed. He can handle one on one meetings but group meetings make him descend into madness.
History: Once upon a time there was a village in Meon Garran. This village was peaceful and hardly ever saw any trouble. There were some sailors who called this village home but mostly it was just farmers, artisans, and some warriors. The village would hold competitions to keep the Wolves under control and in shape. One day a visiting Cattaur (who was really a Naga in disguise) took part in one of the major yearly competitions. He was defeated by Gethin and was not happy about losing. He sulked off but during the night he placed a curse on Gethin making the Wolftaur go insane and kill the entire village. Gethin lost all his memories and will continue to do so every time he encounters a large group of taur. He doesn't even know he is cursed so he can't try to seek help or find the one who cursed him.

Name Meaning: Egyptian for heat or fire. In Egyptian mythology Bast was the goddess of fertility, pregnancy, and the sun who was considered a protector of Lower Egypt. She was often depicted with the head of a lioness or a house cat.

Race: Cattaur
Mate: none
Personality: A motherly Cattaur. Bast longs to have children of her own. She enjoys watching children and being around them. She is very kind and loving but can be fierce if a child needs her to be.
