Little boots crunched on the thin layer of icy snow as she padded along, and Sandy gave the surrounding woods an unusually forlorn look. She'd been around here for a while now, and had yet to meet another pygmy like herself. The main taur that inhabited the isles were interesting enough, but... it wasn't quite the same when the only taur who didn't have to look down to talk to you had the mental capacity of a peanut.
..Okay, perhaps the peanut comment had been an exaggeration, but she did want someone her own size to have a decent conversation with. ..Or, at the least, someone to play with who wouldn't scream selfishly about losing like most children did. It was tough being an adult in a child's body..
But then she stumbled upon a treasure! A small clearing that had apparently been protected from the icy rain of the day before, and instead held a blanket of clean, powdery snow. Grinning, she decided that if she couldn't find a friend, she would just make one! So, she set out to build a snowtaur.

Cherish was stalking through the woods, absolutely furious. Her ward had run off on her again! She had repeatedly told him that he should never run off out of her sight. But recently he had been leaving every time she turned out. Admittedly he was a full grown Cattaur but still she had raised him!
She reached a clearing that had perfect snow instead of the mush and slush or just ice. She stared at it for a moment before noticing that the perfect snow wasn't quite perfect anymore due to someone trying to make a snowtaur. She stared at the other pygmy immediately noticing that she was a pygmy and not a young taur.
Finally walking out she noticed that the other pygmy was dressed for winter. "Looks like you're doing quite well with that snowtaur. Although isn't the head a little crooked?" She asked flipping her head so it went behind her shoulders instead of falling in front of them. She then shoved her bangs out of her face so she could properly look the other in the eye.((I just noticed that my name is misspelled on her cert! XD ))

Patting a little extra snow to an arm, she looked up and twitched her ears at the sudden voice. Another pygmy!! Was it coincidence or fate? Though excited by the arrival, she cocked her head to look at the mentioned snowtaur head.
"So it is!" She exclaimed, tail twitching as the adjustment was made. Pleased, she met the cool blue eyes and smiled warmly. Would you like to help make another one with me? It'll be nice to have some company."
((at least it's a cool looking misspelling! X3 ))

((There is that! XD ))
Cherish waited for a moment to make sure the current snowtaur was perfect before nodding. "Sure I'd love to help make another. Could we make a fox one this time?" She tilted her head as she asked the question. She was soon rolling a big snowball for the main body. She only paused for a moment to look over at the other. "I'm Cherish..... also I gotta ask have you seen a blue Cattaur who has cloud markings on his back?" She then focused on seeing if the body snowball was big enough.

She nodded in reply, immediately getting to work to help build the next friend. Though, she had someone real to talk to now!
"Cherish." She repeated, nodding slowly as she let the name stick into her memory. "I'm Sandy. Though, I haven't seen anyone out here." Her ears perked up hopefully. "Is he another pygmy like us?" Maybe this foxtaur knew more pygmies to meet?

Cherish patted the body ball down making it smooth. She then began working on the tail, letting Sandy work on the head.
She sighed when Sandy said she hadn't seen anyone out here. "Nice to meet you Sandy. And no he isn't a pygmy. Calder is a full grown Cattaur. I swear he was such a sweet kid when he was younger. Now he's always running off doing who know what, leaving me behind to worry about him." She quickly finished the tail and stuck it on the body.

Perking up, Sandy gave Cherish a bright smile. "It's nice to meet you, too." She cooed, patting the little nose that she was working on. She frowned slightly at the description of the missing taur. Full grown adult running around on his own? ... "Is he one who finds trouble easily?" She asked, lifting the head to turn it for inspection. Surely that was the reason Cherish was so worried over an adult taur.

Cherish shook her head as she moved to go look at the head of the snowtaur they were making. "No not really. He's only lived in the woods with me so he doesn't know how the world works or how bad it can get. Plus... no one could really understand him. He can't talk. How is someone who is just meeting him supposed to know that." She said with a frown. She looked at the head and nodded. "Head looks good to me."

Her ears perked at this new description, eyes slipping over curiously. "Well, how is he supposed to make friends if he never learns how to communicate without words?" She wouldn't comment on the canine's apparent negative view on the world. Most taur had a reason for their views, and she knew enough to not poke her nose into that kettle.
Nodding, she put the head in place, securing it with more snow. "If you can find a way to communicate with him, surely he can help others do so as well?"

Cherish looked at the other with a frown. "He does know how to communicate without words. He's quite good at it. It's just others out there can be so cruel. I don't want him to encounter them." She said. Her strong maternal instincts made her super protective of him and thus she didn't want him out in the world meeting others. It hadn't help that she had bad encounters with regular taur in the past.

Putting the final touches on the face of the snowfox, she realized that Cherish the over-protective mothering type, and that she didn't have anyt background in advising her to relax. After all, she didn't have anyone to watch over. Instead, she gave an encouraging smile. "I'm sure he'll come back to you soon. Now, I'd say this little guy looks just about finished!" She stepped back to inspect the snowtaur, tipping her head slightly. Oh! "Forgot the tail." She said with a giggle, stepping around to get that done, not noticing the new arrival at first.
Merry A pair of shining blue eyes had discovered the duo working on their snowtaur. That looked like fun! She wanted to play, too! Already purring at the idea of company, she emerged from the woods with a bounce in her step. "Hi!" She called cheerfully, looking between the other two pygmies. "Can I play?" Her mindset was closer to her appearance than those of the other two pygmies; something above child but short of adult, but she cuold sense that they were spirits similar to herself.

Cherish tilted her head and nodded. "I hope so." She said frowning a little, "What you don't like the tail I put on?" She then heard the voice of someone new. She turned to look at the green cat pygmy. "I don't mind. Do you?" She said looking at Sandy for a moment.

A cattaur tangled in blue and green ribbons tumbled out of a nearby canopy, yelping as he fell. The ribbons caught him, however, suspending him in mid-air over the female pygmies below.
He hissed in distaste, struggling a bit in an attempt to untangle himself before realizing he had company. He'd just woken up, so it took some time for his steel blue eyes to adjust to his surroundings.
"Well! What do we have here?" He asked, glancing below him and waving his tail in greeting. The bells on it jingled merrily. "Been a while since I've seen other pygmies." The cattaur yawned. "Then again...I've been asleep for a while. Guess it's about that time of year when more of us show up, huh?"
He grinned, supporting his elbow in the sling of one of the ribbons and resting his cheek in his palm, looking as comfortable as could be. "And such cute ones, too."
"Say, uh...think you ladies could help out a fellow pygmy?"

((my bad. forgot you'd had her stick on the tail~))
Twitching an ear, she looked at Cherish and smiled. "It needs to be fluffier. More like your's is!" Perking her ears at the first new arrival, she smiled and nodded once Cherish agreed. "Of course!" Wow! More pygmies! This was her lucky day! And yet another suddenly fell from the tree, making her gasp in suprise and concern until he started talking to them, looking and sounding rather unharmed. Giggling and shaking her head, she padded over and helped him down. "Flattery won't get you anywhere." She said playfully.
Thoroughly pleased to be accepted, she scurried over to look at the snowtaur that had been made. "Pretty." She cooed, petting the creations. The sound of the male tumbling down through the tree scared her at first. She yelped and hurried to hide behind Cherish, duking down and not rising again until she heard the bells on his tail. She continued to watch him warily though, making sure he wasn't going to hiss again.

"It got you to talk to me, didn't it?" the gray and white cattaur pygmie replied with a smirk, landing on his feet as he was freed from the branches. "And you decided to help me down. If it wasn't flattery, what was it? My irresistable charm? My dashing, boyish good looks?" He ran a hand through his hair before casting her his most disarming smile and winked. "Name's Matteo, by the way. What's yours, sweet-cheeks?"
Realizing he had startled the other newcomer, Matteo blinked and dropped his act. He put up his hands, (though his arms were still tangled in ribbons, they somehow miraculously did not constrain him) palms facing forward to assure the green cattaur that he meant her no harm. "Hey, hey, it's alright! Sorry if I startled you. I was just napping up there and I must have rolled over when I heard the sound of your voices. Not a good thing to do when you're sleeping in a tree." He scratched his head sheepishly, smiling at Merry. "You must be one of the newer pygmies around here. Am I right?"
