There was something that could be said about a person when they were fleeing from the angry shouts of some adults his raoti close behind him. Okay so he hadn't meant to make such a mess, but who knew that his simple game of tag with the small creature would end up causing a small avalanche? No one had been hurt which was a good thing, but a lot of the work they had been doing was now under snow.

The ice boy knew better than to stick around, and thus was quickly fleeing down the snow laden path back towards the village. He was sure to hear more lectures tonight from his father, but until then he would try and hide in the village. Although...being so small word traveled fast, and he was positive to hear lectures from more people in town as well.

A small tired laugh escaped his throat as he finally tried to slow himself down. He sure was useless wasn't he? All he wanted to do was have fun, why wouldn't people let him do that? Sitting up Borra moved some hair out of his face, still huffing trying to get his breathing back to normal, his raoti Baroke was having an easier time going from a sprint to a sudden stop although it was starting to look pretty exhausted as well.

"Come on Baroke, maybe we can find something to eat that won't lead to being lectured." Borra chuckled as he picked up his feet and headed towards the nearest small shack.

Ysaneryn laid in a snowdrift atop a long blanket, her eyes lazily closed against the sunlight that made the snow sparkle like gems. This was the perfect place to be - quiet, calm, did she mention quiet? The young woman already had enough trouble finding peace, so this was a definite siesta from her demanding life. Why her father wanted her to learn of the council's ways, she knew not. It was boring, and caused her head to hurt. Rules were important, she knew this, but to be the one who had to follow them all... not fun at all.

Thinking about it made her head hurt, and she threw her hand over her eyes. "Do this. Do that. Don't do that, make sure you write this down. ....Ugh." She murmured, groaning softly. She removed her hand and sat up as a commotion filled the air, filtering down toward her where she sat. A boy - no, a young man followed closely by raoti was sneaking around the village, seemingly staying out of view of a group of people who were possibly looking for him. She frowned, wondering what he could have done. It was none of her business, but at the same time, she didn't like trouble.

Slowly standing, Ysane lazily scooped up the blanket and wrapped it around her shoulders to keep out the slightly chilled air. She shambled forward toward the boy, her steps light, almost sleepy, even her face seemed to show how strangely lethargic she was.

"Oi." She allowed the sound to fall from her lips lazily, voice soft and drawn out. It almost sounded like she fought the urge to yawn. "Sneaking around isn't suspicious... at all." She yawned, her hand lightly pressing to her lips as she stared at the boy with golden eyes.

Borra was caught off guard by the soft words being spoken to him, and he half turned to spot the young woman before him. Oh! Wait he knew this girl didn't he? Upon closer inspection he realized it was more she reminded him of his sister but that...wait no...she was the councilman's daughter wasn't she? Borra felt rather proud of himself for being able to remember though he winced at her comment about sulking about.

"Ah well...I guess I am not doing a very good job of it am I?" Came his comment as he noticed it seemed that she was or had been in the middle of something before his arrival. Moving towards her he smiled, it was such a carefree expression on his face, one that showed that he hadn't ever had to worry about rules or responsibilities once in his life. "I'm Borra, this is my Raoti Baroke." The ice male indicated to his pet that had followed in Borra's boot prints to save energy, though it looked up as if it knew its name and bleated before butting its head into the boy's leg indicating it wanted to get around him.

"Okay okay!" The young man laughed as he stepped aside to let the animal move in front of him. It apparently wanted a better look at the girl...and the blanket looked tasty.

Ysane raised a brow as he moved closer to her, now able to inspect the person with more detail. He was young, with vibrant and playful eyes - mischievous and a troublemaker to boot. He was someone who either did not have responsibilities saddled upon him, or he did and shirked them. It was not a surprise to her, as she would too if she had the means. But alas, her father and mother both placed much upon her, too much it seemed to be able to hide in the sun and enjoy quiet for a long period of time.

Sigh.

She turned her eyes down to the little Raoti as it butted the boy's shin and wiggled past him. Borra. Baroke.

"My name is... Ysaneryn... You may call me Ysane if you would prefer." A yawn lightly punctuated her words and she slowly covered her mouth with a thin hand.

She peered down at the little creature in front of her and tightened her hold on the blanket as she knelt, her hand lightly and softly petting the Raoti's nose. "Hello, Baroke. Please... don't eat my blanket. It's not... appetizing."

Borra looked the girl over she was wrapped in a blanket though he wondered why she would be sleeping outside. It seemed like something his sister would do.... strange. Then he was given a name and his grin broadened even more so than you'd think capable.

The roati though seemed surprised by the petting on its nose and was distracted from the immediate need to taste the girls blanket. Giving a bleat in appreciation at the petting and settling down to be as close as possible to her to receive more petting.

"Looks like Baroke likes you Ysane!" Borra of course immediately went to use the shortened form of her name it was cute, and he liked nicknames it made everything seem more personable.

"So what are you doing out here? With a blanket of all things, are you running away?" Much of Borra's speech was...similar to that of child, friendly if a bit.....lacking in maturity.

Ysane peered at Borra in a way that spoke her confusion. Running away? Undoubtedly, her appearance of heaving around a blanket probably bespoke of perhaps traveling or something similar. How could she explain why she carried it like a small child would carry a doll? It almost embarrassed her to think of it as such. She looked at the soft died hide that had been beaten to softness from years of use; one side was soft skin, the other a thick woolyness not unlike that of underhide of a Raoti. Warm, comforting... It made her almost sleepy thinking of curling up with it. Maybe if she could catch just a few more winks of sleep...

A yawn slipped out of her mouth before she could stop it, and she shook her head before looking at Borra apologetically. "No... the blanket is... merely if one wishes to catch a nap. The sunlight feels good, no? Who would want to lay in the snow?" Her voice fell to almost inaudible; she was very embarrassed. How could she look to this boy? Infantile? Weak, perhaps? Her father would skin her alive for appearing even remotely as such. Allowing her eyes to fall, she paid more attention to Baroke, stroking his ears and trying to give a reason to look down as her face turned red. Oh oh oh, she probably seemed so laughable.

The male looked at her listening to her reason for carrying the blanket and that was in case if one wanted to nap. Nap? Made sense to him! The man wasn't exactly going to press further after all if that was what she said she was using the blanket for why should he doubt her word?

Giving another one of his bright smiles it was easily apparent that he didn't think her strange at all for lugging a blanket around. "Well I would think it would get cold after awhile but it must be a very well made blanket! Maybe int he spring when the snow isn't so deep we could picnic on it!" Only...Borra would suggest having a pinic on a blanket outside in the snow.

There was some sounds coming from behind them, after all it wasn't going to take the rest of the village long to figure out where Borra ran off to. Stupid snow leaving boot prints. Reaching out he took the girls hand,

"Come on! Lets see if we can find a good place to sit in the snow!" an excuse really, but he wanted to get to know the girl better and if he was hauled off by the adults of the village who knew when he would be able to make another appearance around her.

Ysane could only follow the young man, her hand locked in his. She felt her face rushing red. Never had anyone grabbed her in such a way and lead her about like a little Raoti. She wasn't sure at first what to expect as she stumbled foot over foot after him. The snow seemed to sing beneath their feet, loud amidst the quiet. No, she realized. It was not quiet. She could hear shouting not far away. What had Borra done to catch so much attention?

Stumbling over a hidden stone, she found herself falling into the snow face-first. "Umph!" Snow clogged her eyes for a moment, cold and wet, chilling her lips and cheeks in a single moment. Her hands shot up and she wiped at her face with a splutter, a pout touching her lips at the misfortune and clumsiness. "Forgive me! I am a wretchedly clumsy person at times... and running is definitely not my strongest suit." She murmured, wiping her face on the shawl-liked blanket, warming her face back from the chill it had suffered.

Borra only barely was able to keep his balance when he felt the tug of the girls hand slip out of his hand and skidding he half turned to see Ysane on the ground wiping snow and some dirt off of her face. Oh no! He felt terrible he should of realized that by going the speed that they had been going the blanket was probably heavy and caused her to trip. Kneeling he went to help her immediately.

"You alright?" Borra asked instantly, into a 'fatherly' mode as he often did with the young kids he often was around he being the oldest was always responsible if any of the kids got hurt. "Its okay we don't have to go so fast, do you want me to piggy back you? Could be faster and more fun!" Of course now that Borra saw that she seemed perfectly fine that worry and concern was fleeting.

Kind, but unnecessary. That was her immediate thoughts. Borra seemed to be be a very energetic person, unlike herself. She was almost irrepressibly embarrassed for herself for showing such weakness. If her father could see her right now, she knew his reaction would be one of utter shame. Weakness was not someone of her status should show. But here she was, uncaring of the fact. She was not raised to be physically strong, but her mental sharpness was definitely something she was glad for. She found herself staring up at Borra, deep in thought. Should she accept? Should she deny and make him sad? Different choice, different views and consequences. No, consequences was the wrong word.

Ysane continued to stare at him with yellow eyes. Hmmmm. Walk or be carried. Which? Which choice? Carried would make her feel weak. Walking made her tired (oh, the laziness!).

Shaking her head with a small laugh, she nodded. Perhaps this would how a friend would act. "Alright." She said, shaking the snow from her hair, the long chain of her earring seeming to jingle merrily at her decision.

The grin that spread across his face was immense and he was quick to knell down so that Yansa could climb onto his back. Granted he wouldn't be able to move as fast like when he carried children around on his back, but this would still be just as much fun right? Once he felt her weight on his back he would stand up unsteadily at first, but by using his arms to adjust her weight he held his arms behind his back so that she could use them like a seat and then strode forward. Baroke was prancing about before them making little bleating sounds as it moved about.

The girl felt cold, and he had to wonder about the blanket of hers being warm enough out in this snow. "So tell me more about yourself Yansa, I don't know too many people my own age, I am often around children." He commented with a small laugh. "Though I am sure you picked up on that pretty quickly. My mother often tells me that I should act more my own age than like the children I watch from time to time." So he was making idly chit chat, but that wasn't going to do any harm. Right?

Though he recognized the girl he didn't know her very well and he wanted to get to know her! He loved making friends, at least he was pretty sure he liked doing that. Children considered him more like an older brother than a friend.

"Myself?" She was caught off-guard for a moment. It wasn't everyday she was asked to tell someone of herself. Hmm. What to say? Or rather... what to say so she didn't sound high and mighty. She was not! Not at all. She pressed her cold face into Borra's back, feeling immensely thankful for the bit of warmth she felt. Poor cheeks. Unlike the rest of the body, they weren't normally thought to be covered. That, and her nose, which through the icy blue hue of her skin, was a light pink.

"Well, let's see... My father is a councilman... my mother was a holy woman. However, she is no longer by my side to watch me grow." A long sigh followed the words, before the young woman shook her head. "I am... very uninteresting. My father is strict and fills my head with studies of nonsense that I don't particularly care to learn. I fear he wants me to follow in his footsteps. But oh! I don't want to sit around all those fuddy-duddy old people. They bore me with their words!"

She pursed her lips, wiggling at the irritation that rose in her at the mere thought. "You're lucky, Borra. You have freedom with you, it follows you like the breath of the Goddess herself." She lightly rested her chin on his shoulder, peering about as Borra continued to walk with sure steps even with her added weight. He was strong, and childish. But he was a good person.

Borra felt her face in his back and it only made him smile more, she must be tired or cold. Listening to her describe her father's work it sounded a lot more interesting than his fathers job. Though his thoughts saddened when he discovered that her mother was no longer with them. How did one react to that?

She then continued to speak about how she was no very interesting and how she feared that her father wanted her to follow in his foot steps. That sounded a lot like his own father, though his dad was just a regular hunter and not someone who was really important.

"Oh I dunno I think you are pretty interesting. You're very nice, and you have a pretty smile. It was cute when you fell in the snow and you know what if you want to get more time to be yourself just ask! I think there is a lot about you that you still have yet to discover!"

He continued to move onwards his head turning this way and that looking for a spot for them to get more comfortable. Something about Ysane made him feel that the further from the town they were the better.

As they continued to walk in silence, Ysaneryn mused over what it was to have a friend. Was it a terribly difficult thing, what with social norms and the like? So foreign it was to think about. "Do you find me odd?" She asked suddenly, her breath hitting the cold air in a steamy puff next to Borra's ear. Her eyes gazed sideways at his cheek for a moment in thought before she looked elsewhere, her gaze moving skyward to look at the jewelled peaks.

Seldom did the mountains bore her. She felt intensely bonded to the snow-capped rocks, they glowed with familiar colors of pink, blue, orange... it was breath-taking. Not many would take a moment to look upward and see the mountains they lived on in any other way than a rock.

But Ysane spent much of her time with her nose buried into charts and scrolls, being as studious as possible for her father. But if at any she found herself near a window, she would gaze out in longing upward.

"I mean... I am odd."

The question was an odd one, and perhaps Borra wasn't the best person in the world to ask his opinion on what he considered 'odd'. But he continued to trudge through the snow, it was getting a bit more difficult for him as Ysane wasn't exactly the same weight as a child, but he didn't complain.

"Odd? What is odd about you?" He inquired giving a slight chuckle as her breath tickled his ear. "You remind me of my sister, although much nicer and happier than she is. Sin'qua is so surely you'd swear that frown was a permant feature on her." Borra stated with a slight laugh and you had to wonder...what exactly made Ysane like his sister...when Sin'qua sounded miserable?

"I mean to say that, you remind me on how she likes to look at the world. You observe it with quiet wonder rather than..well like me, running and jumping..sometimes I don't take the time to appreciate my surroundings like I should. So I should pose the same question to you, do you find me odd?" Borra inquired, curious though even if she did say he was odd he probably would take it as a compliment.
