The wasted years, the wasted youth. The pretty lies, the ugly truth. And the day has come where I have died. Only to find I’ve come alive
Dani was laying on her bed tossing a hackysack against the cealing and letting it fall back down. It was obvious she bored out of her mind. Part of her kept telling her she should just stop being a baby and text Kellan, but then another part of her was telling her she should wait to see if he ever contacted her. She easily caught the hackysack in her fingers and glanced at her phone for what must've been the thousandth time that hour. It had been a couple of weeks since she'd met Kell and she was really starting to want to run into him again, if only to escape her boring daily routine of waking up, watching her little sisters, making dinner, showering, sleeping. Wash, rinse, repeat. It was so monotonous, and she was sick of it. She flickered her brown eyes towards her phone once again and heard an exasperated sigh coming from the desk chair. "Would you just text him already!" Dani glanced at her brother shocked. "Text who....?" She asked evasively. "Whatever guy has gotten you so distracted and antsy recently. I'm assuming you met him that day you snuck out and left Adrienne and Chase with Ry." Immediately a blush coloured Dani's cheeks as her thoughts wandered to that fateful day. She sat up to ask her brother something, and was immediately met with a knowing stare from the older boy. "Err...." "Don't worry... I'm not gonna go run off and tell Sage." "But August! How did you know?... Actually what do you know?" Instead of answering right away, a smirk just flitted across his lips as he turned back to whatever it was he was working on. She immediately flushed brighter and flopped back onto the bed. "You're my little sister, Dani. And out of the entire family, we've always been the closest. Did you really expect not to put two and two together really quickly." Instead of answering, she just groaned and picked up her phone. Unlocking it, her fingers immediately began flitting across the screen writing and rewriting before finally settling on a simple message. She hit send as she reread what she had written. 'Hey Kell. (: Long time no see. What's up?'
Adolescence didn’t make sense. A little loss of innocence The ugly years of being a fool. Ain’t youth meant to be beautiful?
