Name: Karen Mendela
Age: 37
Occupation: Cook of a small inn in Oldcastle
Orientation: Straight, not that this matters much~.
Spouse: Widowed.
Appearance: An older woman who looks slightly older than she is, due to the appearance of a few grey hairs in her normally black pinned up in a bun. She dresses, outside of work, normally in darker colors, leaning on, but not necessarily pitch black, and in work, looser clothing that is lighter colored, such as whites or more likely, grays. In her younger days, she would have been just above average, but the toll of her husband's death, and her work, shows on her face.
Likes: Cooking, being in charge, haggling prices, rare or exotic ingredients.
Personality Quirks: Uninterested, detached, and not a fan of screaming children, or children in any manner at all in fact.
History: Her younger years were happier. She wed the young man she loved, they opened a small inn together with their closest friends, and lived simply, but happily. Every year on their anniversary, he would spend the change he had saved up on a gift for her, a rare ingredient. It continued this way for years, until he fell extremely ill, and then passed away in his sleep. She's too old to remarry, and also completely uninterested in doing so if the right man would come along, but also is childless. Karen considers her fate to be dying alone one of these days, be it young or old, and accepts it. However, she has never gotten over the death of her husband, and continues to dress in mourning black, or occasionally gray.
It seems fitting that her new companion also wears this color scheme.
